To me personally, I do in fact prefer playing on high ping when I play Clash. Especially in CQB. Might be different match making brackets, might be difference in play style on another region, might be placebo but it does feel like the window of opportunity when rushing someone with a shotgun is longer. In the end, it's too unreliable, though, to gain anything. As you get disadvantaged just as much in other situations. 🤷

Although there is obviously some underlying issue, when so many people are that adamant about ping abuse. With how often you die in cover, for example, it's no surprise people get worked up about it. 🫤 You can't see the times you're advantaged by desync, only when it screws you over, and with desync getting worse around people on high ping, it's no wonder it leads to a bad sentiment against those people. 😔

I still don't understand what the logic behind complaining about dying behind cover is, the alternative would be that they would have died out of cover if the person had lower ping, there was zero advantage from them having higher ping, just delay. You died in a more favorable position thanks to their ping and technically they are at a disadvantage when getting kills because of it as otherwise they would have an easier time stopping resses and seeing the body

high ping does create the benefit of peeker's advantage (which goes both ways, pushing a high ping player is like playing on high ping yourself and having the advantage) but the one nuance is that they know they have a better window to peek and can try to rely on it (while also suffering in most other aspects of the game) while the average player isn't going to suspect they can get peeker's advantage from an enemy team until they see something hinky in the shot confirmation

The Covid video game boom petered out and Crytek didn't respond fast enough to it, they ate a lot of costs in keeping a large number of employees for Crysis 4 development among other stuff. After the Hunt 2.0 update didn't provide the big boost to the playerbase they gambled on, they had to shutter Crysis 4, lay off 15% of the whole company (60+ people) and hunker down with their engine licencing and Hunt monetization to keep a profit margin. Idk what kind of profit margin they're working on though. AAA studios work on like a 15%+ margin but Crytek could be going on <10%

Those are both good tools to carry, chokes help with closing off flanks and giving you more time to get a teammate up, flare pistol lets you quickly burn downed enemy hunters putting pressure on enemy hunters

Yes but winning fights is more important, and if you kill the whole team you can use those chokes to stop the burning (if they aren’t fully burned) and then loot

The point of burning hunters is to a) decrease their health if they get up, and b) make enemies panic as they have a time pressure and more to think about, they are more likely to make a mistake or run out into the open to try and revive the burning hunter

If its just to put out hunter you burn. Why not just use them water bottles laying around the map

As you burn your health bars slowly burn away, meaning they have less health when they get up, a hunter with no health bars is fully dead and can only be revived by someone carrying a bounty token (and reviving a fully dead hunter costs you 50 health in burn damage so it’s a net zero and leaves both hunters very weak)

I was just highlighting that since they already bring chokes for team mates they can also use them to stop burns on enemies

There are water bottles around compounds to put out fires but chokes are more reliable, especially as new hunters may have trouble finding water bottles

Also chokes can be used to block flanks etc because enemy’s trying to go through the clouds make coughing noises and have uneven aim so people tend to not try and rush through a choke cloud

Tbh they could make them weekly or daily contracts

like a daily challenge

but the contracts would be hunt specific, one game to succeed or fail, and allows people to up the ante if they want while remaining optional. 50 grunts is not that hard to kill, and would make something like a melee weapon secondary really good to have if you like doing those challenges. the pvp enjoyers can fully ignore it and don’t have to interact !
