The main thing with the Sparks pistol is that it does a lot of damage, but the silenced variant looses quite a bit of that damage. It's mostly used to supply long ammo rifles with more ammo as it has quite a lot of reserve ammo. But it can be quite fun to just use as a hand cannon to do lots of damage

The silenced version loses some of its crazy damage by putting on a suppressor. Stick with the pistol or rifle.

The use case for sparks pistol and silenced variant is honestly not good since repeating pistols are much better like the uppermat or uppercut.
But that shouldn't stop you from using it, it's fun to play with cause of its absurd damage and rifles like marathon, lemat carbine and ranger/infantry works really well with sparks pistol/+silencer

Ammo type and rate of fire are the two main distinctions in hunt. Compact is the weakest, mostly suitable for CQ and mid-range combat. Medium is better than that, and long ammo is the meta

Compact loses damage beyond 20 meters, so a gun that deals 100 damage will deal like... 90 at like 30 meters

Doubt it. Hunt had a pretty sizable community prior to being added on gamepass plus the base game is cheap nowadays so anyone can just pick it up if they want to still play it.

Marathon is on the faster shooting side and cheap. Good velocity, but unlike the Ranger or Infantry, it's got some quirks like you lose a round if you do partial reloads but on Ranger you don't (It's tied to its mechanical function irl)

Other than that, don't sweat it. Find a gun with the sights you like, and use that

Meta rifle is Mosin. Its main difference between say Lebel is that it does slightly more damage, but it reloads much quicker

Basically guns have 4 primary stats you look at:

• How much damage does the gun deal per bullet.
• How fast do does the gun cycle the bullets.
• How fast does the bullet go.
• How good does the bullet penetrate walls and other objects.
