somebody tell me why i can't launch hunt showdown, ive got xbox gamepass premium and installed it on xbox app (pc) and every time i launch it, it starts loading, says "waiting for game" and then cancels fully, ive tried reinstalling, checking for missing files, running on admin, nothing. ive also done the easy anticheat stuff

Mostly my opinion, but I think the repeating long ammo weapons are too strong and need to be dialed back. It's also my opinion that something is wrong with the audio (though its still better than any other game out there despite its issues), some ammos are questionable, like how Steel Bolt for the crossbow basically is better than the regular bolt in every way which goes against the design philosophy of other custom ammos, and the MMR system acts funny

But those issues are not terribly big in the grand scheme of things. The overall gameplay plays pretty well, albeit punishing at times.

People dont like them because they're frustrating to go against, they give the illusion that you can fight back because it doesnt outright kill you, sometimes requiring 3 bullets to the body but because the firerate is so fast, and if the other person isnt some 3 stars then you're most likely dying, often to a headshot after they've missed like 5 shots at you. I am so unbelievably tired of them as a solo, like if I dont die to a shotgun I die to an officer, or a dolch, or a new army, or a bornheim or dualies. Dualies feel especially bad because its mostly RNG based and you know that insta headshot dualies death from 40m was pure luck

and yeah long ammo need an overall nerf, the more damage a gun does, the slower the bullet should be, excluding single shot rifles cuz those are fine. Spitzer should only add the extra pen

it used to have the old shorty shotgun buckshot damage profile, which could oneshot to legs, but in buffing the shorties with 2.0, they just applied the full-sized shotgun damage, which only deals 135 to legs. after 33m, the projectile itself no longer deals 15 damage to make it a oneshot

KD only tells you how good the player was in the first 300 hours of the game, once you get too many kills and deaths it calcifies and becomes hard to budge. Like you could play like a 3.0 KD monster but if you spent the first 1000 hours sucking hard and dying all the time you'll have a rather middling score.

Deadlock is a 100k game where it will still let you have queue times up to 5min to ensure good matchmaking.
Whereas Hunt players will piss and moan if they have to wait more than 1min for match.
