You get 6 points you can spend on event stuff. You can get them by popping balloons, killing clowns, looting hunters, etc

Its been part of the event cycle loop for a while now. Pledgemarks is used as a currency to buy event "pledge" traits and sealed weapon/cash/medkit caches. Earning event points will give you pledgemarks. When you loot dead hunters you can steal their pledgemarks.
I haven't paid attention but before banishing boss would give a pledgemark so I assume it's the same. Not sure if looting a hunter still does gives a pledgemark cause you can steal theirs instead which is better.
