Kinda sorta, they deal 25 damage on impact and 126 damage when exploding, so they will 1-tap if you connect.

you only gain Catalyst by chance through Destiny or Empress, its just a holdover from last event and affects plenty of perks, its just that you can get a hunter to 50 in one match and there's a lot of competition for 15 slots, I'd say Catalyst is only worthwhile solo for Frontiersmen and Beastface, later to be burned off when you find Shadow, Death Cheat, Rampage, etc.

Yeah but thats boring they should of put some effort into catalyst even if it was something small, maybe now salveskin with catalyst you burn 10% slower or something

that is not a trait they're interested in buffing, this is all stuff they're playing around with implementing into the game, they just nerfed Salve Skin and reduced the price they're not buffing it again

Catalyst is not meant to be a permanent trait, just to test other traits

the permanent buff to solo Frontiersmen is very likely as limited supplies cause solos to lose fights via attrition, I have to give up so many bounties and extract because I run out of meds fighting the entire server

Solos are already pretty balanced, as someone who plays in both teams and solos.. if they did this, and the other solo catalyst traits, they would need to decrease the solo MMR modifier.

solos are not balanced at all, often fighting against 3 players of similar skill, sometimes a full trio of blatant cheaters, matchmaking in general is a joke and should never have been introduced

even if matchmaking was a perfect formula it wouldn't work because its not 1v1 or even 1 team vs another, its a FFA, essentially a battle royale, it only encourages passive play and deadlocks
