Not really. Yes, the raw price is higher, but you do get weapons out of them, which you dont get with legendaries. If you compare just the base prices, removing the weapons cost from the equation, then recruitment Hunters are roughly the same.
And even if they would cost more, then that already makes legendaries the better option, meaning a buff (making them free) would be even less needed.

Desync specifically as a problem mostly negatively affects hunters with high ping, since Hunt's movement is server authoritative.

Hire better servers, I mean don't you find it embarrassing crytek that games of 12 people is barely playable? But that argument would be the same as saying "i bought a mosin skin, i want the mosin to be free" Or to be more precise the better analogy would be "I want to buy a winfield and be able to make it into the legendary mosin".
You kinda have to treat the different categories of Hunters just as you treat weapons from different categories.
(The point is you have to play suboptimal things like whiteshirts if you run out of money, being able to apply the skin to them would allow you to basically play a T3 without paying the tax of the T3)
And when comparing legendaries to T3 Hunters then the legendaries are already the better deal (unless the recruitment Hunter comes with exactly the weapons you want).
Legendaries are under picked and if they want people to buy skins they should really change the system
As far as i know (and i might be wrong on that, so take all of that with a grain of salt. I dont remember the source where i read this) Crytek is stuck in their current server provider contract until the end of this year.
If that is actually the case, they really cant do anything about better servers currently, because paying for two contracts would absolutely not be feasible.
I think getting rid of traits with hunt dollars will finally help legendaries but there should still be other systems especially for gun skins

@humble knoll I've only ever seen 'teaming' in quickplay one time, and that was when the entire server collectively agreed to just hang out in one of the forts and talk about life so a guy could complete his summon

The only time I've seen 'teaming' in Bounty Hunt was when a duo said if I was solo I could just have the bounty token, and they let me have one and leave without any fighting, we didn't kill anyone together and didn't even go to the same extract
It's not super common to see people trying to game teamsize limits in a way that negatively impacts other's experience
Honestly it has been more common these past 2 months than Ive ever seen before. Recorded and reported 4 different teams we match up with doing quads into duos with no Voip comms, so definitely pre-made.
They even have their own little system on how to tell if they are in the same game
Spawn in and full auto fire an avtomat, if the other team doesnt hear the gun in their match they extract and try again.
Reporting them is the right step ๐

Honestly these last 2 months have been the only times I have ever seen teaming in Hunt, but it has definitely been done repeatedly.

That's a good point, it's kinda ridiculous how unintuitive that part of the UI is. I think they mentioned they're working on improving the equipment screen, maybe they could tackle that at the same time.
oh, i think i missed that part where they said that, i really hope they are working on it, the UI is one of Hunts weakest points but has improved over time, so i am optimistic we will get something like this eventually.
Yeah agreed, I remember how I started the game for the first time and was just totally overwhelmed (in the worst way) but the UI.
But legendary gun skins cost the same as a regular gun. Im not saying you get free hunters Im talking about getting a free reskin of a hunter you buy. I used the free hunter as an example dince they are easy to see and lots of people use them for quick games. Why not let them equip a skin they bought to the hunter so they can actually use legendary hunter skins tgey like. Never said you co stanyly get free anything. Everyone gets a free hunter already. Might as well make it look cool.
Legendary hunters are not simply "skins" though. They are individual hunters with lore attached to them, etc. It even used to be the case that you were unable to have more than one legendary hunter or gun at the same time (except for contraband).
We are talking about ways to change the system for them. I kniw they are a seperate entity.
IMO the current system it perfectly fine and legendary stuff in Hunt shouldn't become simple "skins". That wouldn't do them any justice since they are so much more than that.

legendaries bankrupt me in game, like why do i get a gameplay disadvantage because i buy and use my dlcs cosmetics? 
Say I buy a tier 3 hunter and dont like how they look so I go and equip Lulu as a skin for them. Now instead of a normal tier 3 I have a hunter I like over them. That way you always get to play as a hunter you want all the time.
cosmetics shouldn't affect gameplay, but by being able to get free stuff from summons and chary etc. legendaries are not equal economy wise.
Or say you go broke after some bad sessions and you dont wanna get finessed as a white shirt. Boom just slap on a legendary skin you bought. Now you dont feel as broke and you get to hunt in style. Crapoy loadout probably but style makes people happy.

Especially since any skin for gifting the game could (and certainly would) be easily abused (just gift the game to a random friend or make a secondary account and gift the game).

@hazy quartz Antidote is such an oddly not well thought out consumable. Why isn't it similar to Mithradist where it only reduces the time you're poisoned? It doesn't make any sense for it to be a complete counter with nothing to counter it back.
How would u buff antidote to still make it competitive then?
Maybe revert back to 30 min and 1 hr duration?
I feel the duration is good with the way it is. I'm still thinking the entire poison feature and even the traits should be reworked. Poison should be similar to bleed(Unless I am wrong), the more you apply, the heavier it gets and certain weapons would have levels of poison(Light, medium, and heavy). Antidote should be reducing that duration making you need to apply more hits with poison and mithradist would either be taking away the visual effects or letting you heal but still have those visual effects.
i didn't suggest an antidote buff but an antidote nerf.

Pre round teaming is against ToS. This is defined as queuing into the same match to team up, on purpose. It is acceptable to find friends or make a bayou negotiation IN MATCH, but not if you plan on doing it before the match starts.

Last time I checked the credits, there were a total of about 100 people involved in the making of Hunt and that included artists, the community team, etc.
New maps or bosses take a lot of time for small teams

We already have 3 game modes, remember. Quickplay is already an afterthought for Crytek as well as the broader community. Trials has been abandoned entirely. So splitting dev resources and player engagement isn't only a bad idea, history by now has shown it doesn't work.

What could be an option however is what the Plants vs Zombies games do (of all things).
They always have their default game mode (TDM) available to players for people who want a familiar experience, while the other play option cycles through different game modes with different objectives every week (i think).
At one point it's a PvE horde mode, next comes a team elimination stile mode and, next a Deathmatch with only certain characters with certain loadouts unlocked and so on.
So if hunt would add more variety in game modes, this playlist kinda thing would probably be the best way to do it.

It's a huge risk. There's a huge barrier since it will have to attract enough players to fill this new game mode on its own. BH and QP are already struggling in some circumstances. So if it's a good game mode but doesn't attract that many people, we have an even more split player base. This means crytek wasted a huge amount of resources and even hurt their game doing it.

Hunt is a Niche game . It is a First person shooter but unforgiving most guns kills with two hits in most cases , most other FPS you have room for error . it also does not help when you look at the store page and upfront you are greeted with same vibes as Train simulator
Yes I agree. However, one might say that QP and BH are not that different since you need to find clues in both game modes. I know it's a rough comparison but I wouldn't be surprised that many people see it like that.

Poison is really strong against AI. Therefore there is a downside to using it in PvP. Not everything needs to be viable for everything.
crytek put's so much effort in making poison ammo viable for pvp, first poison sense then damage buff, but it's all mostly futile if it just get's hard countered by antidote.
this just kills poison in the crib. and usually barely picked at all, because only very few players dedicate their main weapons to PvE, because PvP is the greater threat.
Everything what can mix up the meta a bit and make it more interesting is a win in my book, and when a simple consumable can completely shut down some creative builds that's just boring.
Get rid of the special effect ammo done

I've encountered poison ammo like 3 times since it came out & i've probably played roughly 6-12hrs everyday.
It's going to be non existant as it used to be
i wasn't criticising crytek for what they did, it was just a sarcastic response to the idea to simply remove "special effect ammo"
In 15 hours of playtime since 1.9 I've encountered one poison sparks and it killed me with a headshot.

The most 'worrying' thing, which isn't really a worry because I always carry antidote anyways, is that the Silenced Nagants are mosquitoing around more now.
I haven't really played much and have not run into the current poison ammo.
Penetrating surfaces is just so much more valuable than the little screen shake and the heal denial.
There's no healing when you're dead.
Every time I could bring a poison secondary, I carry FMJ instead.
I love that ppl were so fucking worried Spark poison would be overpowered.

Especially the headshot range for Hives.
Also being able to headshot one-tap immolators now with the increased damage.
And I've found horses can be body-tapped now, too.
Makes moving silently really quick.
I liked the suggestion that came up recently where Antidote only works for a number of instances.
Especially Hive bombs become really good then.
Just peel off the Antidote, then hit home.
It feels like a fun idea.
And Antidote doesn't lose its purpose then.

yeah the more builds become viable the longer the game stays interesting, crytek knows that. so if a simple consumable makes people abandon interesting builds and go back to long ammo meta it's worth rethinking that consumable.

interactive game mechanics are always more interesting than passive effects like total immunity for a time.
You are deafened, vision messed up, can't heal. Dum dum only bleeds you, incind only burns you, both keep their damage and lose their pen like poison. Poison is the odd one out and is too powerful if it weren't for antidote

Probably best to change poison ammo entirely to instead be "venom ammo" that only has the prevention of healing effect, but in turn isn't effected by antidote shots or mithridatist.
one leech bite is one hit taken away from protection, hive swarms do many hits in a short time so they would eat up the antidote pretty quickly if not effectively dealt with.
i suggested it just recently, yeah very mixed feeback, but no one can tell my why it is a bad idea. like it would be really nice to have a discussion about this if someone could come up with some good contra points.

@hardy coral Barely anyone uses Antidotes. Back then it was more so of a surprise to get shot by poison. Now it's to be expected, but people would rather bring things that isn't Antidote.
I like the change, but it isn't an incline to use/bring antidote cause mithradatist is just as effective.

it sure would be realistic - but it wouldn't be fun for twhat hunt tries to be
Hunt isn't trying to be cowboy tarkov, and in gameplay guns get dirty if you die mostly - so you'd mostly get fucked for dying even more than loosing HP and practically fighting half the server carrying nitros on roids (which is how effective long ammo is against a 125 hp target) or you'd get bent over because the gun you just bought comes with a base dirt level

Gun maintenence is something i expect in a survival game, an RPG or even a looter shooter like tarkov
I mean Hunt doesn't even have gun customisation - so maintenance is too much imo
i think it sounds worse in theory then in practice. Usually if your downed in a fight then revived, there is a usually a small window of time to get your bearings, heal, and reload your weapon. Adding an assessment of your weapon's condition would only make these "dis-engaged" states more interesting and immersive.

closest i get is the electric lamp; never know when your gonna need to do a suicide charge on a night mission 
Allow me to manually block regions. I'm on Starlink internet. i sometimes get spikes to about 200 from time to time. but when it happens while in main menu, it forces me to Russia. I don't live there, my Starlink exit is not IN Russia but in East USA in Chicago. while in a group. I have to leave the group, manually change the setting, and re join. while solo, I can change it, but only when the game lets me once the lag spike ends. you know my IP address, you can do a lookup on that address for my zipcode to better gear my connection. but for love of god. don't lock me out.

you still have to crouch/walk to the wire being an easy target when you remove the wire.

Any chance we can get some more bludgeon weapons introduced in the game? Sledgehammer is one of the strongest melees in-game but you can only find it in the wild. The only weapon we have that comes close to being bludgeon-specific is the Obrez mace and the damage on it is quite pathetic. Please can we see the obrez Mace damage buffed and maybe even get dedicated hammers/ sledgehammers to bring in-game? And for the absolute weirdos out there, yes a shovel variant too you can carry around```

Just a minor change: Change the reload speed statistic so that lower reload speeds have a more full bar on the weapon statistics. E.G. on the conversion pistol it shows the regular conversion reload speed to have a half filled bar whilst the chain pistol has a full bar with a longer reload speed```

A. How about don't play duos in trios and then complain about utility. B. Concertina trip mines aren't hard to get rid of. They have significantly less wire. C. Dynamites are universally useful. And who says you have to blow up all the wire? Just go through one side.
And if your complaint is about shotgun camping then have something close range in your loadout. And If you're too afraid to push then why complain about concertina anyway if you never planned on going in to begin with?

@alpine burrow Not everyone who is playing a scope is ignoring their teammates. You can absolutely play a scope in compound range. Their utility isn't just range, but also cracks.
And you can find plenty of other annoying teammates:
-shotguns that are afraid to push and just sit in a bush/building hoping someone runs into them.
-silencer loadouts who never uncrouch the whole game.
And many more. Point is, while any of those loadouts can be played in a way that hurts the team, they don't have to. You really shouldn't be judging a players Playstyle by just their primary weapon.

Itโs not so much about judging someoneโs play style itโs more after 3k hours on hunt 99%of hunters with scopes tend to sit back, camp, not back up team/revive as they are so far back and some just run to exit after getting a couple of kills if teammates are down. These are most the experiences I have had with snipers on my team and this is the reason for my suggestion.

Cost is not a useful argument to it being a straight up upgrade. Otherwise why not give the Nitro a regular ironsight? You see spitzer lebel and mosin commonly but not Nitros..why? Because Spitzer is just broken. It's so commonly used in 5-6 star because it's the only gameplay style that you can have almost 100% control in your engagements.

if you run the Hunt map tool you can see there are tons of spots to snipe from a compound away and if they run greyhound and you try and run with the bounty they are probably going to get you in their crosshairs. In 3's they'll just spread out and camp a compound. Also they never push the compound and the people inside eventually have t o come out.
You know there is a LOT of cover than you can get to escape them right ? Just break sight, use dirtpiles, full building etc, just don't run in a straight line
and also, a birdview of the map is really different from all the bushes, buildings and three that can actually break sight
man you eventually must traverse an open ground look up the map lol it's not just dense trees. You are limited in your approach to compounds and people know the common routes. Look at games before they added spitzers and now. Much less marksman scopes then. Now every game has a bunch of snipers. Maybe 3/10 of my 5-6 star games are full of fights in the compound

That's a dumb ass statement. Do MLG pros hit 100% headshots? No. Even if they hit a bodyshot you're now getting 1 tapped by anything someone else in the compound hits you with.
Man this is getting into theorycraft range where all the best players have 80% avg accuracy and 70% accuracy.
it doesn't even have bad bodyshot damage lol at any range where you can actually return fire without another marksman scope it's still a 2 hit to the body. Also this shit isn't even weak at close range when you can bodyshot and quickswap faster than a compact gun without levering can shoot twice.
under 100m it's a 2 hit bodyshot.. above that it's not but still 1 hit headshot and the rate of fire on these guns is basically uppercut tier so you can quickly readjust as your opponent does the chicken dance. If you aren't hitting shots you just leave and reposition with nothing lost. If everyone sniped this game would be shit. It would be a game of looking at pixelated edgy bushes hoping someone goes for the objective. It's a play style that completely discourages people from playing objective.
Did you not see the map i posted earlier? There is probably cover outside of the compounds for like 30% of the map and you have to push open areas before you can get into most compounds. Also like I said the weapon literally doesn't have a problem with spitzer because in medium range it's still a 2 hit to the body. At far range just go for headshots like you would anyways with every gun in the game besides shotgun....If you don't get a headshot in 2 hits just move and now you opponent has to guess where you are.

Why has game devolved into shotgun compound camping and long ammo then? Where is the weapon diversity? Long ammo has been too strong for a while.
What is the point in winnie when long ammo+ qucik swap is still faster than they can shoot twice in ADS with the winnie? It's not good at range, it's not that good close range and at medium range long ammo can still easily beat it. Uppercut is a long ammo pocket cannon that is way too strong ( I use it).I don't really see many winnies since I left 3 star and very rarely karabiner because in my opinion it's ironsight is trash
also scopes have a problem of CoD style quickscoping in this game. If you run crosshair or draw dot you can see they are dead accurate the second you press ADS

If any it's the other way around. Desalle is the most sniper friendly map of the three.
And even desalle isn't really problematic.
Also on the old maps you have a lot of cover to work with.
When outrunning sniper you have to constantly calculate where the sniper could have moved up to and keep obstacles inbetween.
And quickscoping (if we even can call it that, because the penalty does exist) needs to stay. It gives a sniper loadout s chance to stay with their team. It's also absolutely fine balance wise. The only thing it isn't us realistic, but hunt just doesn't go for that
PLEASE READ... the banish is skipped if and only if the server is empty and the last team declared "Land Cleansed". If server not empty and "Land Cleansed" is declared by a team, the whole team receives a penalty in the form of losing a health bar OR reveal their location to all enemy hunters and the banish is still NOT skipped. People literally don't understand what my proposal when giving their thumbs down smh.

In my experience, alot of complaints about people sitting in bushes comes from people who just sprint through the map and are surprised when others set up an ambush because they heard them coming from two compounds away
Yeah he's not easy to spot but then he's not really supposed to be. You have to move carefully and keep an eye out/anticipate possible ambushes.

Yes Cain is hard to spot, but lets take a sec with that video, first of the video is pretty low res, even the short time they show reddit already looks blurred for me (playing the video on 1080p which is my native reolution) second is it's just a picture, so the movement which gives away characters very often is not present either, and cain is put against the perfectly matching background here
Yes cain is hard to spot in general - and even harder to spot in the right circumstance (background, time of day), and the worse the graphics the harder to spot.
But here's the point, that's the same for most T3's
spotting felis in the assassin lair is damn near impossible, spotting the regular ghilie T3 in front or even worse, in a bush is damn near impossible.
and even many T1, and 2 hunters are hard to spot against the right backgrounds - but they are ofc by design easier to spot than T3 and legendaries (which are apart from look, de facto T3 Hunters)

Such a mechanic would tell the team if there are any other players still alive or not. Not knowing this unless you've counted 10 other bodies yourself is an important part of what makes Hunt the game it is. You don't have a kill counter or feed on purpose, you're supposed to always be on the edge unless you've seen every other player yourself.

They don't have any more 1 hit kill lethality than any other rifle. With spitzer it's even less. Especially considering that spitzer in engagements below 200 is almost a straight downgrade. The damage loss matters a lot. Especially in conjunction with it's atrocious ammo economy.

And it's not stupid. It would be bad game design if you couldn't work with your team or would actually be punished for playing with your team. Some game design choices are made to control play patterns and make sure that the optimal play remains teamwork.

Same. To me it's a shame that this game has the classic shotguns/sniper problem. I wish the game just balanced the weapons in other ways that made sense(ADS time, moving accuracy,sway etc) and we could have realistic weapon ranges and scalings so it doesn't turn into " If you know they have shotgun don't go near compound" " If you have sniper never go into compound". It's just boring and actually restricts the amount of tactics.

PVP with a PVE objective. You can win matches without encountering or having to fight players.
But obviously yeah, people play for the PVP.
You just need to get close. There are few areas in Hunt so open that you don't have a way of moving from cover to cover. DeSalle was designed with lots of cover in mind and the older to maps have had lots of changes done over the past few patches to add more cover and reduce open areas.

if you don't want to wait, improve the yolo playstyle, if you can yolo effectively you can always change the pace of a match if you don't like that others are taking it slow. thats the only way to "force" others to do something. complaining about slower playstyles changes nothing.
Not sure what you're referring to. The bounty team inside a boss lair playing passively has always been present in Hunt. It makes sense, they have the most to lose and are in the focus of everybody else in a match.

Something as core as scoped weapons isn't getting removed.
If the snipers carry the bounty they are easy to follow thanks to both the lightning in DS and on the map. And rotating after being discovered is a very basic move you should practice whatever gun you have, your location being known is always a disadvantage.

You will always have those people in any objective-based game (the Battlefield community has been complaining about this since the dawn of time).
IMO the removal of the KD-based leaderboards was an important step towards discouraging these players.
Sometimes people run when their teammates are killed, or leave the match if they lose bars. But even then that's to preserve hunters and equipment, not necessarily K/D

The only way to see another player's KD after the removal of the leaderboards is by actively looking at the stats in the Team Details screen and you can choose to ignore that one.

There are many times, especially single bounty, that i rush the boss, banish, and see everyone is camping around the compound and not pushing. So I just run and get out lol. Single bounty worth a lot of money.
Depends on what you see as winning. The goal of BH is to survive and extract the bounty. If someone just gets a few kills and leaves, I wouldn't call that "winning".
