Anyway, as far as the waterbucket goes: No, please. There are enough environmental pick-ups and one bucket of water is never enough to douse a fire. Use the smokes, it is what they are there for.
Portable Med Kit (funct. like Ammo Box)- Unnecessary IMO as you have bandages and shots you can administer one another. Not only that but almost every building tends to have a medkit somewhere in it.

I don't think it is a bad idea - just superfluous. There are already a LOT of healing options.
Everything already exists in the game for it's implementation so there's really no reason why not.

I'm iffy on that TBH. It would need a huge negative to compensate. I read the suggestion and the first thing that came to mind is it should be a self-induced poison (that cannot be counter-acted by mythrandist) that boosts your health but disables all healing effects for 1.5x the duration.
And shows your aura in darksight when using poison sense. Triggers the Meatheads then too.
An anti-venom could end both affects early.

@lucid orbit All those filter options were removed for a reason. They could be used to gain an unfair advantage by upping up contrast etc..
The somewhat bleak art style and colors are a choice deliberately made by the designers. (Which also has a direct impact on gameplay, like hunter visibility, which is way higher if you have a more vibrant game)
I don't think hunt is or ever was intended to be some kind of colorful battle royale experience.
@warm zephyr I don't really see why you should post your technical problems as feedback, that error is most of the time driver related, and in pretty much all cases something on the person's system, not the game
I used to get that error in the newer cod ww2 game, fixed it eventually by changing my audio drivers

If anything, you shouldn't have to update gpu drivers if you have no issues
Updating can lead into more issues, a lot of people roll back drivers to more stable versions and such
The only time you really want to update gpu drivers is if you want a specific new feature that is part of the new driver

you're right I'm not in anyway a computer expert but is it expected that I, a lay person would know by instinct that it wasn't related to crytek, when the game is riddled with bugs?

I'm playing the game right now & I had 4 night maps in a row!
Not that I'm complaining of course, I love night maps.
But I was wondering, did crytek changed the the frequency of night maps?
I like it. It's a bit of realism. It scared the shit out of me the first time I decked out a torch grunt near an oil trail. Don't kill em by oil barrels, problem solved.
@signal mural it is just anoying. there a re so many things going wrong in this game. But Crytek goes for makeing AI even more anoying.
That's not really AI. I'm not going to say the game is flawless (far from it) but I respect the effort to keep it a game about tension, patience, and attention to detail. I think making the game into a run-n-gun shooter is ruining the base concept. Giving away your position and/or deceiving the enemy to your whereabouts is kind of at the heart of the game concept - hunting.

One could say if you own a pc with access to the internet. First instinct is to google.
Google the error, theres bound to be one other person out there with the same issue, Diiba here for example.
If i get an issue i always google it. Theres 0 reason not to.
If it boils down to Crytek, then it's their fault.
Some issues can be difficult to troubleshoot like fps drops.
But when u get the error name in ur face, just type it in to google.
it says cryengine fatal error. I assumed it was some fuck up at their side
it gets way more complicated when youâre sharing the pc with family. when i launch a game and play it I expect it to not require additional fiddling. Here to enjoy the game not to be a technician

@fair rover Extracting and surviving (ideally with the bounty) is the goal of the game. IMO it's on the team in pursuit to catch up and prevent the extraction, if they fail they should reflect and see what they can do better next time.
@fair rover Where's the fun in having to wait for every last sniper because they can just take potshots at you and stop you from extracting that way.
Rn the situation is pretty clear - if you let them get all the way to extraction - you get one last chance at catching em but its risky, get into the extraction zone yourself.

Reconnection doesn't work or is VERY, VERY problematic.
I lost internet connection for 1 second.. and I waited for the reconnection timer in Hunt but it counted down all 30 seconds without me reconnecting.
Then when I tried to reconnect, I was stuck in the load screen over 5 minutes - so I had to restart the game.
After restarting the game and I try to reconnect, this time I atleast gets into the game, but then there is no walls, no objects or anything. I couldn't walk either!
So I try to wait for it to load in more, but nothing happens... then I had to restart the game AGAIN and then it worked.
And this has happened many, many times.
Essentially I only lost internet connection for a second and then all of this occured.
And as said, its not the first time and probably not the last.
Would appreciate the reconnect to get fixed.. sucks to lose a maxed out hunter for something minor (what should be a minor thing) like this

@sick anvil thanks for replying, but I think that's a giant load of bullshit. MMR is heavily influenced by kills. I got killed by someone that tanks their mmr in quickplay. I wish they would move quickplay mmr into its own bracket.
Well thats also why im trying to think of some gimmicks that make it a valid alt starter weapon besides the springfeild maybe have it reload slight faster or gets access to more special ammo at the cost of some dmg

It was a popular frontier weapon so lore wise I could see us getting access to alotta spares
While i agree on QP should not be taken in consideration for BH MMR
Prestige does not require any kills all it takes is banish bosses and extract . or you can prestige purely of QP
And KDA ultimately is a cumulative number while you are bellow 500 deaths its fairly easy to get a high KDA with a streak of luck or choosing a play style that is securing high amount of kills and putting you at minimal risk .
I have seen people with 3+KDA play like absolute potato and i seen people with 0.8KDA playing better than any one else
A more objective way to look at KDA is look at the hours spent in game number of kills and assists and deaths
lets take 3 players who all play the same amount of hours example 1000
1st 3KDA 900 kills and 300 death
2nd 1KDA 2000 kills 1999 deaths
3rd 0.8KDA 3000kills 3750deaths
Who is in your opinion the better player 1st 2nd 3rd ?

1st is the worst player of them , he's not even able to get one kill per hour and with that little deaths he's playing super passive . This guy plays sniper only from range and is even really bad at it . I would say 2nd is the best of those 3 but I wouldn't call him a good player tho

Yeah I wouldnât expect much from any of them but 2nd is the best of the 3
1 is afraid of testing themself in an actual fight and only engages with the utmost advantages.
2 is a very average player that might go a little slower than most but still dies a fair bit regardless
3rd is someone who does not care about surviving or killing enemies efficiently at all and generally just runs into anything, gets spotted first, gives away team positioning, etc, but lacks the aim/combat effectiveness to makeup for their careless play style.

K/D per hour does matter if we're looking into good player
If weâre looking at bounty hunt kd it should be associated with time spent in bounty hunt matches where the clock was ticking while your in match.
Someone might play 1k hours of hunt showdown and maybe theyâre a crazy person thatâs spent a lot of that running quick play. Even sitting in the menu runs up your hours doesnât it? Like if they leave the game running to come back to while doing stuff irl too.
I mean they added leaderboards because the community begged for it basically before lol
most of the time one match is enough to see if you want to dodge the guy or not but when the guy rocks his 0.6 kda I know for sure I don't need this match to find out that I want to dodge him
I told you Takyon , you ended up on a decent number but that's quite low for "4k mmr easily done with one evening of sniping " ^^
I said 3500 is almost the max you can have without using glitches or cheats , you told me that you would easily make to 4000 and above

That proves my point looking solely at the number of KDA and MMR rating that are completely unrelated does not give any context of how good or bad the player is even adding in hours with out greater detail wont tell you nothing

I think the summons is great, instead of having 1 weekly and 1 daily, which amy be awful, you get 9 options.
I mostly just carry people and finish games with them no matter how bad or unhelpful they are but Iâd be lying if I said I didnât dodge someone based on a combination of their sub 1 kd and horrible loadout.

The game is competitive and that's even stated on the steam store page so it's safe to say they treat it as one no matter what your personal definition for it is, but I still agree that removing KD would be more beneficial
People like seeing themselves relative to others in a competitive setting, that's what stats do/enable.

Normally every time you say "remove KD " you add a "and I say this while having a good/high KD " I was surprised you didn't this time

My argument for removing KD is making people play normally instead of people playing for stats too much and negatively impacting others by doing so, such as people who sit in a boss lair until time runs out or plays long range solo sniper and extracts after one kill or uses some exploit to not get a death stat
I simply say it usually before anyone even thinks that my point is not valid under the impression that I want such a change because of my own low stats, not sure what your point is

That's an interesting argument, I think that ignores people setting goals for themselves to improve their kda(or out kda their friends),etc and that not all these people camp and I would actually say it's only a small number that camp since I think camping is unappealing to most. The incentive to camp is still there due to hunter perma-death, and making it easier to win.
I have had people who literally say in proximity chat that their reasoning for X thing was stats/leaderboards when I questioned it

I don't see it too often at 5, 6 stars is definitely a major issue.
I too often see people to afraid to go to 6 star, not because of facing better players but the idea they might be stuck in a sniper siege for 50 minutes.

Also match timer is a bit much, most matches end in 20 minutes, 40 would be plenty as shown during the Crow Flys Event. 60 minutes is just a camp fest game that is no fun to anyone.
Peoples goals should be more gameplay related than stat related in my opinion. Pulling off hectic/aggressive plays. Bridging the gap in disadvantage with skill. Clutching against trios by yourself. Promote chad gameplay. I got to 6 star 2.52 kd in bounty hunt trying to just get better at the game straight up skill/aim wise. Albeit I had a lot more time to play than the average person at the time and lots of previous fps experience. I still feel like the KD I got at that time was much lower than what I could have if I played carefully/defensively and feel a little punished for it. When others can get higher kd playing way softer/more passive.
I'd go for 45-50 minutes just in case, I'm fine with shaving off 10-15 minutes but I'd not go any closer to 30 minutes
I agree high kda is a mark of passive players(who imo aren't actually good players but rather good at one specific playstyle like sniping).

That would also mean, that for situations where people spawn on boss, and someone else spawns opposite. They should just extract, even if other team delays bounty they would need to end the fight in 5 minutes or less and then find extraction(assuming most of the timer gets eaten by travel time).

You know people that set a goal to get to a certain KDA will just do adapt the most effective play style to do that which is usually sitting in narnia DE rendering compounds and wall bang headshots all day .
While if you would set your self a a goal of today i want to get iE 15 kills in my session you get a person that will take more risks

@fair oyster the matchmaking itsself works already with numbers the stars are just a visualisation
^to iterate on that. Your MMR value is an integer value between 0 and 5000. The MMR curve shows what stars are displayed at what MMR rating. Internally the stars are not used at all, the matchmaking only uses the raw number, or, to be more precise, the average of your teams number.
The stars just exist on your client. That's also why a lot of the why is x Star Player in the same lobby as me post are just examples of matchmaking working properly

they are only decent against uncovered targets at mid-range (20-40m) and thats exactly what devs want them to be good at
you can also get some stronger bois to destroy people hiding in a shack or behind some other weak obstacle but thats where their dominance ends...
everything else you ve listed is much more effective up close and since you have severely reduced accuracy, without being able to go ADS, you are at severe disadvantage against everything thats farther than 40m, even standart SA revolvers
Dualies had been nerfed already so please stop requesting another nerf for them... just because you dont fancy a certain gamestyle doesnt mean it should be removed from the game or nerfed to the ground

dualies are my goto cheap equip... when i take free hunter... take some random contraband revolvers, stuck a nagant precision to it and go cheap
its much worse than any other loadout but its fun and it can be destructive if used properly

I don't get why people are losing their shit over the Legendary Summons. It is 5BBs people. You can earn more with less time and effort playing with any weapon you choose. I get that it is annoying being offered something you cannot do because it is locked behind a pay wall but the rewards aren't worth the price of admission. It isn't even really an incentive to own the skins.
For me this is the equivalent of old Weeklies like 'Be the Soul Survivor 12x in QP' - forget that... but even there, despite the unlikelihood, the reward of 25BBs was more attractive than> own a paid dlc skin + get way too many kills with it = 5BB (one time payout).

The new Summons system is a good aligory for what's wrong with the in-game incentives. The revised Daily/Weekly Challenges into Summons has made the the rewards value sink heavily based on the player time invested. It feels IMO like an attempt not to reward the average player but to bolster the daily player base not through a solid gameplay loop and great servers but grind incentives.
Mr. Chary, was a nice addition because of it's lotto-like rewards, the lowest threshold could just as well award something more amazing than the daily max threshold. It encourages players to invest more time daily but it is flat over the entire player-basis and still leaves Crytek their BB sale possibility when players cannot make that full time investment.
I like the gameplay loop and like incentives just as much as the next too but the key is not making it feel like a grind that only rewards top-tier players or those with 30hrs+ to game per week.

Oh like that, I see. Yes, adding new things should be done at times, im all in favor of that. Hunt has added plenty of great things, that got better over time. But these things directly influenced the game play (tools/weapons). These quests dont however.

these summons can go in the garbage can as far as i'm concerned.
Instead replace them with real missions, randomized. So every map, you dont know if and which special mission you're going to get.
Like: Ring the bell, and defend against a horde of monsters.
Start the train and protect it against other hunters while zombies follow the sound of the train.
At the end of these mini-events, you'd get a cash/bloodbond/weapon cache so you can get a free crown or mosin or whatever.
This means there is more stuff to do than just the bounty run, what the quests intended anyway afaik.
the 'collect/kill' quest system is famous and now getting infamous after decades of WoW and all kinds of RPGs. They need to be a fun event, not a chore.
I want my quests to be interactive with the game in a way i normally dont. I normally already pick up clues as a go. Why would i care there's a little quest for a Specter as a reward (or something similar), if by just playing the game, by the time I have finished that quest I have made enough money to buy 10 of those already anyway, and I can just find them in a single game lying around.

Explosives bolts are fun but hard to aim as their AoE is actually rather small. They give away your position real quick though.

@cloud surge one issue if a team spawns nexto the boss the other teams have no more chance at getting the tokens also only the banish team recives something so that would not work i think a team that extracts with a bounty should with ur system get atleast one token any way to make it fair
I wouldn't say it doesn't work. It's just the gamble of the game. I have also come across teams who spawned on the boss but still sat back to let others do the work. I'm not sure that bounty extracts only should get a Boss token as that devalues the kill+banish. Unless you gave maybe 2 tokens for that and just 1 for the extract.

ehhh, if his goal is to make banishes/extracting worth it more, then this will do this. But not that much as its rare a banish doesnt happen at all.
As for if its fair or not, it's not any different than the current situation when a team has the luck to spawn right on top of a boss and other teams spawn far away.
I dont see an issue with this as i said, its already how the game works now already anyway. Only thing that might be annoying is that people will run away more often with bounties instead of going for the fight.

This isn't on the player either. That was a spawn point. If another team spawned on the other side then we would of been dead due to bad lighting in the game

companies are forced to give them out though if they do business in China (where it is required that games with loot box mechanics must reveal the percentage rate of drops in the loot pool) and since Hunt is available there . . .
It's not really a loot box service tho. It's completely free so there may be a loophole
err, there's this screenshot where the last part of the dark tribute system where you can pay to get to the last reward is listed as "country tip restricted" likely due to loot box regulations (this was from a player in Belgium)

It's a bad idea from a gameplay perspective, you'd be using trait points to unlock something that is an objective downgrade. Why would anyone ever do that for any reason?

The explosives in this game have strange properties
So a good addition to the game would be to have a cross platform friendliest so I don't have to wait 7 years or have the game become bugged finding my ps friend. This is ridiculous, half an hour to either have the game bug out and not let me load in, or an hour just to never find him. Other games less known have utilized a similar system and this game can't figure that out after having access to it for the same amount of time of being out. Sad

The only reason this shouldnât occur is because the PC player base would decimate the controller guys. Seriously Iâve seen console hunt gunfights compared to PC hunt gunfights. Two different mistresses entirely. The console players would get destroyed due to fast reaction time from mouse.

I've seen some people get scary good with controller, but in general I agree
That being said, if you get a gyro controller with a flick-stick you can go toe-to-toe with PC players with practice
Just be careful using flick-sticks because some games don't recognize the input as valid
Never gotten banned for using one but I have been put on probation in Apex, had to contact support and show them my controller setup to get it tidied up
All a flick stick does it turn you in the direction the stick is pointing, so you can rotate by pushing the right stick out to the edges and use gyro to adjust your aim
Apex lets you opt into mixed or "pure" lobbies, so on PC if you're using a controller you can get thrown in with all console players or mixed lobbies, but if you use a keyboard you can get thrown into mixed lobbies, or all PC lobbies
Granted, that will never stop people from spoofing

they've explicitally said they never want the contraband status to be removed as it would flood the economy with money and, more concerning, could cause people to become further disinterested in the main objective and just leave the moment they get their hands on an avto or something, depriving that lobby of further PvP encounters.
yes, I know you mentioned how that it would be removed only after you play another match but that still won't dissuade people from immediately leaving with their avto and just joining another match and running to the nearest extract once they got bounty

The economy is already really borked, I don't know anyone who has ever struggled to deck themselves out in the most expensive items possible for multiple attempts straight. I can buy the most expensive gear in the game a dozen times over, I would have to be trying to run out of money.
But I do see your concern, Tarkov (the most comparable game out there to Hunt as of present), has something called a "run-through" penalty, where effectively if you just try to extract immediately your items won't gain the "found in raid" status, you have to at the very least travel the map and interact with the game world if not outright kill anyone, a system like that could work.
that I don't disagree lol, economy is already screwed (yet, they still think it's fine and use price as a balance mechanic to this day)
I just hate the way contraband (and by extension hunt dollars as a whole) act rn, not enough to spend dolans on, and a kind of annoying system

Hunt dollars exist in a funky state of just being a metric of your experience. Even if you botch 3-5 hunts, depending on what you brought in it's almost guaranteed to be gotten back with a single successful extraction
Sometimes a little less if you're really going all out, but even then it's not hard to get more or at least break even

The javelin bomb thing is cool but feels bad that itâs affected by bulwark and also pretty loud.
Bulwark is definitely a soft counter to it, bulwark straight up necessary trait
Explosives are so insanely dangerous that if you're not running it you're a fool

It's how your router determines what communications it should send and allow through
If you can access your router's settings through a website or program on your PC, or even on the device itself if it's one of those new fangled routers city dwellers have access to, you can set your NAT type to Open instead of Strict or Moderate
I have my own trait upgrade path I take that depends on weapon choice too but Iâll always fit bulwark in atleast towards the end or if Iâve got 2 left and bought all the other good stuff I can while leveling, I pretty much know I can afford whatever else I really want after 1 more game

its for gameplay consistency (as said before, using realism is a nice template, however, if it impedes/is inconsistent in gameplay or feels worse, it will be changed)

there's a reason why we have solid frame revolvers only nowadays
That is why I say it's not really wrong to make a Revolver carbine even though it breaks realism
(wear a long sleeve helps a bit ...but some hunter doesn't)
