Tbh I think this can be solved by rebalancing weapon handling (ads time , how fast to pull out , ergonomics in general)
Heavier more complex rifles would have worse handling
Simpler lighter rifles and pistols would have better handling
The swap times used to be different, they made them more consistent years ago and I think that was a great change
I'd rather see skill expression be about things like aim or positioning, not whether or not their gun was fast enough to swap to because they chose X or Y weapon
Ye I see the logic for sure definitely don’t want to go back to sparks uppercut quick swap days but I do feel there should be kind of advantage or benefit of pistols over medium rifle (other then you don’t spend trait points for am)
As long as they don't make any weapon more clunky feeling and only possibly make pistols handle better then sure I'm down, but I also wasn't against original quickswap tbh
Imo the biggest reason why pistols fell behind was bullet drop and pistols being hit the hardest with it
QM existed even before and was nice but didn't feel like an objectively pick over pistols every time, I could still use pistols for longer range in my shotgun loadouts
But with bullet drop I feel more limited range wise with a pistol and a shotgun
they aint adding new weapons ..... only battle passes

Also a lot of the weapons suggested would only serve to bloat the roaster, additions that would most likely either reinforce the meta or turns forgotten once the hype is over.
Yeah, unless someone thinks of something truly unique, most new weapons are either just the an existing gun but better, or an existing gun but worse.

I've never really encountered many players having shadow throughout this event and while I've found Shadow more frequently I wouldn't say it was THAT frequent. Imo it's balanced just fine.
I like the spawn rate of scarce traits, you can’t bring them in and they are rare enough that you can’t be sure you’ll find any one so you can’t build around them, but they are common enough that you can actually regularly enjoy using them and it all adds more variety to fights
Agreed and they also have the balance of despawning once someone grabs it.
if your ping for all servers is 250+ there is no ping limit

if it won’t let me queue into it due to ping i just make my ping the same for all servers and it lets me

i for example dont enjoy it tbh that these supposedly rare perks are literally everywhere
4 different locations (if i didnt forget one) where theres 1 guaranteed, a card that gives 1 for free (and has a guaranteed location), + a chance of beeing in scout towers + a relatively high chance of random spawning traits beeing one of them aswell + destiny dial + wild targets
from my experience you can very well play around them and expect to have a certain one as long as it isnt death cheat
I think they should be rarer and - thats my biggest point - not guaranteed anywhere
when someone has a strong trait, they should value it and not be able to find it 3 times in the same match (which can happen pretty frequent)
I agree that its cool that they are present and not a 1:10000 chance, but imo theres a difference between "present" and "every corner of the map"
I mean even with those 4 locations they just ultimately haven't been common enough to affect my experience. It is still common for me to see people needing to deal with AI so I don't think it needs changing all that much. Even when I'm killing a bunch of butchers and brutes, they drop regular traits more than they do shadow or any other scarce or burn trait.
We could argue if im just lucky/ you are unlucky now
But in the end of the day players dont always experience the same stuff

Not sure what you mean by mythical skins but people just want the original colors to come back from what I can gather. Items that were sold as limited I could see that maybe leading to some sort of potential legal trouble which nobody wants. But as for items that were explicitly not sold as limited, I don't see a reason for them not to return in their original form. FOMO whether intentional or not drives a lot of players away and leads to a lot of toxicity.
I do think a recolor being available is better than nothing at all, and I didn't say I was completely against the idea of it being paid since you're basically just paying for an old battle pass chapter, although you don't get any blood bonds back which does kind of suck.
mythic is an item rarity that is supposed to denote an item as limited-time and never returning, but mythic rarity didn't exist before 2.0 and a lot of older skins were made mythic when that update released

Depending on the compound, displacement, your placement, etc, you can also usually duck behind a wall or crates or something when he’s about to throws that needle attack
Hey to both you and @verbal marsh the Assassin has a mechanic where if his clone have popped on you or any other Hunter!, he will be immune to stagger for the duration of the insects blocking your vision. So most likely you ain't experience him being bugged, but you or somone else have just been tagged by one of his clones :)

All recent monsters have felt like just a new way to annoy players rather than something actually interesting, fire breather = more bars lost, concertina armored was just a more annoying armored variant, hellhounds with metal helmets are just more annoying hellhounds
I just have not seen a single genuinely interesting monster addition yet to be excited for any more of them
Meanwhile guns are the main reason I play the game for as a long time player, variety to pvp fights is the main sauce for me
this variety could also come in different ways
Traits, Mechanics, Maps, Weathers
there are tons of other things
(Quick note: i dont want to say your reason is unjustified since everyone has different tastes)
Obviously maps are the best addition but I feel like even mentioning them is a moot point as they obviously take the longest to implement
And they are likely always working on the next one
Weathers can also be interesting, but those appear randomly, even if I really liked the inferno I will only occasionally see it meanwhile I can choose to pick a new gun (unless it's scarce but I don't really even count those as new guns anyways) whenever I want to

Traits are meh since they compete with other universally essential traits and there is a limited amount of slots for them
I have pretty much everything important already taking up my slots and the rest are for burn traits I might find in a match, so unless they add something that is stronger than doctor or death cheat for example, I likely will not care for it other than the initial "oh this is neat"

its good in CQ but you cant rush like you can with a shotgun because the hipfire is terrible. aim and fire in short, controlled bursts (inless you're close, then just aim-spam)
and its good at close-medium range because its a hose of boolet. gl controlling the recoil tho
at any range beyond you just just have to deal with the fact that you may hit the first round with the blocky af iron sight, but you will miss with the remaining 2

it works once and they're like "it's so OP!" and then for the next 50 times they miss and die to a guy whos able to make 2 shots with a Sparks before they even hit once.

If i see fanning it's like 6/10 times Chain, 3/10 normal conversions & 1/10 silencer nagant.
The only duallie I've seen used in the last 2 months are the ones I equipped to get more ammo for my Avtomat.

It's why I don't understand people asking for a medium slot, medium ammo rifle. If we get it, I guarantee you're not gonna run it. Because the uppercut will be better. And dualies exist. Plus we already have that. It's the springfield compact.

very much, i should edit this and say that if your under ground you could have the sphere have a filter on it to muffle. although that raises the question of if its this easy why have they not created "zones" in which this filter is applied, you could also have "mid-zones" for areas close to staircases or ramps that would have their full audio heard in both in and out of the main zone to help simulate that they are closer to an opening
these zones would affect audio of both categories, it is really annoying that you can be above ground in stillwater and hear people crouch walking right below you

@vague patio I would disagree. sawn offs are excellent. if you can learn to deal with the sway they are just as good as their 3 slot counterparts, and allow you to take a handcannon or dual pistols without the quartermaster trait.
personally, I find the sway on these rifles perfectly manageable and equip the winfield vandal & mosin obrez quite often

Nerfing dualies isnt a solution tho...
That would just ruin dualies and noone would play them... They need a rework for their ads
You fail to see the issue of balancing... If you nerf something, it becomes worse (duh)... But by doing that you basically buff everything else... So for example we get rid of dualies by nerfing the shit out of them (same what happened to dolch for example) but you didnt solve anything... People will start to play different weapon. Lets say Crossbow, that recently got buffed. So after few weeks people will start moaning that they are constantly getting smaccd by crossbows and its unfair that it can ohk on 50 meters with shotbolt and has to be nerfed...
So they will nerf xbow bcs of community outcry.... Then people start moaning that shotguns are op... So they get nerfed... People start complaining that fANnInG aND LevERiNg tOo SPamMy!
So they nerf that...
And then people start crying, that theres too much campers with long ammo rifles and they should get nerfed so people play cqb options more often...
At this point you ve nerfed the whole game. So everything is back to normal except every weapon is much more shit than before

Well that's where the problem lies tho - why bother learning to deal with the sway if you get the version without sway to beginn with.
And after recent changes they aren't as good as their full size counterparts anymore either
while the reduced dmg barely matters in most cases, reduced velocity is a concern, smaller magazine if aplicable and worse hipfire and way worse melee dmg are. the vandal especially simply doesn't come close to the power of a regular Winnie C because of all the small downsides attached to it with an upside most people really don#t seek out anyway, because sawn off shotguns aren't particularly popular, nor do they synergise very well with most of the sawn off rifles.
the obrez is by far the best and it's actually worth it IMO, because long ammo was designed to have high sway before the sway was universially reduced so it can make do with it the best through the high base dmg and dmg falloff. Also it is the one with the amazing blunt dmg attachment and has a huge price decrease.
the vandal and Springfield compact however suffer a lot from all the downsides attached to being sawn off
I dont think that obrez is worth its money unlike standart mosin but i agree they are redundant
Id much rather pick nagant precision than any other 2 slot rifle
Another issue is the sacrifices for being sawn offs in both slots are usually too much for peeps compared to easy alternatives,
For example, a short rifle + sawn off shotty is both an uncomfortable to shoot rifle and a slightly too unreliable shotgun
usually you're better off with either a full shotgun and an FMJ secondary or an Uppercut, depending on your budget.
Or a full rifle with a semi auto secondary or a revolver with fanning.
and something somewhat similar is precision pistol vs sawn off rifle. Precision pistols are amazingly stable making it easier to use them on their max efficient range and have very good aimed Rof in CQC. They also have regular buttstock blunt dmg for more comfortable dealing with immolators and potentially opening up a tool slot if paired with a hatchett for example.
sawn off rifles on the other hand use the sway to make aiming at their max ranges very uncomfortable directly counteracting what they should have as a role compared to the multitude of other short to medium ranged medium slot options, which becomes terribly apparent when we look at their scoped variants that are prettymuch disregarded by everyone.
That being said, i don't think they need or should get a straight buff - but a reevaluation of the niche they try to fill and then a rework to do that better.
I think what would work better is incentivise precision and lower RoF, and double down on the other drawbacks they have.
So bring sway down to at least pistol level maybe even down to normal rifle sway to incentivise precise shooting and long range fights past the range of Pistols.
So we need downsides then, ideally ones that reduce effectiveness in CQC, like increased sway after each shot (because no stock to absorb recoil) or sway when shooting too fast (easy implementation as we have that as semi auto sway already) or like the C&K slugs huge kick (because no stock) and not recentering as much as other rifles leading to artificially reduced RoF because people need to reaim after each shot.
Pair that with drastically decreased hipfire accuracy and you got the rifles not necessarily buffed but more taylored towards ranged combat where they could be a better choice to pair with handcannons or as ranged weapons with shotguns or a Crossbow, which is further amplified by them having access to scopes unlike most pistols.
If it turns out too strong - one can still tweak the dmg reduction, MV reduction, ammo capacity and lastly the price if need be

In Hunt: Showdown almost every fight for a bounty ends in sitting around.. whoever moves 2much gets a headshot / shotgun shot. I'd love to see some commitment like if you pick up the bounty you need to get to Extraction ASAP. So you are obliged to move, get away. That wld prevent fights like 30 minutes of sitting around. Also.. I know thats pretty much crying.. but how about make shotguns half the distance they are right now?```

when i take 2 slot rifle, i plan to use it at range... so i wouldnt mind if it performed bad at close distances (recoil, sway after shot, bad recentering)

I think the pve rate is a lot higher since reconnect update.. I've died to a lot of pve more recent than before..past few days mainly, the worse spawn I seen was 3 hives 2 imms and a pack of 2 dogs within throwing distance from eachother..kinda not right I feel

No, I disagree. The ghillie skin is actually dark enough so he stands out in front of 99% of the stuff in game but the cain skin has perfect blend with trunks, mud, dirty floor -> dark corners... its blatantly less visible then the others... maybe Felis can come close to him in this regard but you have to find some sneakier spots to perfectly blend in as Cain does in front of every body of dirt
And what do you mean "players say its everywhere"? Yes he is... its the skin people are buying the most from the microtransactions skins just from observation... like make some marks every time you see each skin and tell me your results, mine were that the skin was almost half of all the skins I have met.. and yes, it was just from few games but I did it after I had strong feeling that there is just so many of them, so I am quite confident he really is everywhere by comparison.

Also why do you have to unlock custom ammo for the vandal? It uses literally the same ammo as the 1876c and 1876...

The base idea is make ranged combat feel less like fighting your own weapon and enable precision shooting but as a tradeoff discourage spamming it in high Rof by debuffing accuracy if done.

@verbal wedge I don't think relegating the handcrossbow to a tool slot is a good idea. With or without the regular bolts.
It does give idea to using a sling(shot) loaded with poison/ choke pellets that silently take out a.i. or put out hunters.
Perhaps you're no longer using the aim helper like for throwables but instead use the throwing knives reticle.
Of course the pellets create smaller clouds and are mainly used for direct impacting your intended target

I never forget to bring equipment, as I use presaved loadouts. However, my teammates do sometimes. I am always using discord voice chat to communicate with them, and make sure everyone is in agreement we will return to the lobby, purchase the equipment, and enter another game.

@unborn mirage Scope glint is primarily a balance mechanic in games. And the more modern the setting the less rooted in realism it is, and for there to be glint the incoming light needs to stand in just the right angle

there is, it's called "push in close through cover" which i always do, and almost never get sniped (3-4* mmr)

So BH, i'd say favors rifles and to a degree scopes - while QP favors shotguns as the players can actually force CQC engagements due to the way the wellspring works

the bigger issue I find with snipers is the ease of which the resupply ammo
heck one of my fav laodouts is sniper with sabre. It's half a meme but it can do both - it's up to how the player builds the loadouts
useless bush campers are my main problem with most snipers and why I assume a sniper is shit until proven otherwise
so instead of rewarding good accuracy there is more to be gained by taking more shots
then resupplying

they added some of the utility to firebombs (create thick black smoke now) and to concertina (temporary barrier that's hard to shoot through on range)

but it doesn't need to be 100% foolproof counterplay - if the sniper hits you in movement through smoke and the haze effect he might just shoot good enough to deserve it

all I'ma say, there is definitely an issue with snipers and rats in general in the game. I want to play with friends because I love the shit out of hunt but passive players end play sessions that were at one point very fun for them. I personally do not have an issue with how the game plays, but if there was even more options to flush out passive players or more counterplay for certain playstyles there would be higher player retention 100%. Others who are newer or play a wider variety of games may oftentimes get tired of said passive players and put down the game.

Bornheim did get slight damage nerf but only after a buff because it was two-shotting with compact ammo changes which was a bit much.

This is a two-part suggestion. First, I think there should be a trait entitled "moccasin" that softens your footsteps on hard surfaces (wood, metal roofs, etc.) making you more quiet and stealthy. The drawback, however, would be that walking over broken glass would cause bleeding damage. The only reason you see uppercut more is because you can run it with lebel / mosin / sparks and get more ammo plus better return at regular ammo supplies.

and the way hunt's core system of ammo types works paired with people hating on most stuff with high RoF leaves very little room to add cool new stuff that doesn't essentially play like one of the guns we already have

I am not a fan either. I think any of the specials that are worhtwhile are a bit on the over-powered side and the others are mostly just garbage that hardly see play.

Yeah i know that, but we are not always ready at the computer when the game pops in, we play for fun not hardcore to start running at the exact second the game start to not lose a second lol So this option is good but my point was that 3 teams went for the extract at the start of the game. Because it was the night. its says a lots. Never when you start a game in day time that would have happen, no one shoot each other lol
Night are just plain bad for this time of pvp game. I see so many people that dislike it. a couple of % of players that like it should not force nearly 90% of the other if not more to play it. Not talking here about how the bad RNG is.... i am listing all game i play if they are Day night of Fog, i am about to reach 200 and the same issue happens over and over. its always 10-20 day game, then boom 4 to 6 game night or fog, then 10-20 day and so on. Its never 5 day, 1 night, 10 day, 1 fog.... there is just something wrong with there RNG programing. I try to point it out last time i talk with Rangorok last time but it seems like this issue was not important to them so.
Back when you could queue daytime specifically it was just full servers of snipers. I think that's the value in night time and fog even if they aren't the most enjoyable

re: my feedback item about contracts, hunters should be taking the risks they'll accept for the reward they desire -- if contracts were brought back, maybe night bounties could be worth more?
on that note, my suggestion from a while ago, the bounty needs to be worth more -- have collected tokens be a currency that's redeemed to use legendaries

also anecdotal, about 30% of my games end in a server wipe at a spawn fight because players #1 priority is pvp so they'll book it across the map towards gunshots
The only time I have an overwhelming amount of spawnfights is on desalle, but thats like a whole nother topic
And server wipe spawnfights only happens only trios too
Had a streak a few days back where we had like 3 matches in a row like that
Also I want to point out that after your server wipes, I bet the surviving team went to banish the boss anyway

because who's going to turn down free money, but having been in that situation, I find it pretty boring busy-work, and it happens more often than i'd like
my thoughts are that, if you could find a more significant and unique reward for extracting with the bounty, maybe teams would instead take advantage of shots in the distance to know they might be able to get the easy bounty and run (more exciting than a server wipe imo)

fastest fanning? really? well thats surely something wildly unexpected since its 40rpm. is lower than the other revolvers that can also be fanned. if that is really thing which i dont doubt then the game should heavly communicated that to the player
i know though that its "spray" is bigger than convo.. which makes convo imo still a better pick for fanning jsut cause. its more precise (so much in fact that people dual wield it up to 50 or more meters)
conversion has more accurate fanning but nagant is faster and has an extra round
