That skin is pretty solid
Im holding
And it would be easy because they already have the handle ready to go
Yeah when I was noob I wanted the "good" skin for the saber, the golden one
They need to make katana 2 slot again
Oh I just had an idea imma put down brb
and then one day i realised it was just engravings
It’s just better than the saber in every way
please include hammer being able to punch concertina twin
It is, best in slot melee
It's skin related sorry
😔
@cyan sandal This was talked long before, the explosive xbow wasnt removed because "of no reason" as you state, this claim is false and it was talked by the devs even back to 2022. It was very problematic on console. I understand, you an I are from PC and shouldnt have it that way, but it is up to Crytek to decide whether they want to keep this game unified (balance wise) or separate it regarding balance changes (most likely the first, since its easier)
Honestly i didn't see it enough to have an issue with it on console and when I did it just felt like fighting a slightly more annoying shotgun but that might just be me
I would say that they would need to merge explosive ammo boxes with bolts so that way it can be "rarer" than other ammos (dumdum, fmj)
@acoustic iron I like the idea but doubtful we’ll get another pirate skins considering we already have thirteenth mate and captain lafitte
Im not a console player, but Ive seen clips where the aimpunch was very off and console players couldnt aim properly afterwards. However I agree that the penalization for friendly fire was too much and needed to be removed
Unfortunate sad arg
A friend could entry frag eating your bolt with a shotgun or something and suffer little, while the enemies had full damage
Yeah, we had (sorta) an event based on pirates too
where gunrunner was introduced
(eugh)
You looted more ammo from downed hunters providing basically free avto games
If they changed the friendly damage to be any worse the tker plague on console would get so much worse
(among other things)
No no, now its fine because in that sense both parties recieve equal damage
But before your friends (teammates or whatever) had a massive reduction regarding explosives overall
Oh I see
which made the explosive xbow cheesy af
literally shoot at the ground and you win scenarios
@acoustic iron imo treasure chest skin should be for tool box
Probably because I hate ammo box
¿Porque no los dos?

Noooooooooooo
The scoped mini springfield is pirate-ish enough
I (sadly) got it on the last twitch drops
Im not using that twin 〽️
I don't mind it but the sway kills me
Another thing that has been like that FOR AGES
literally years
It had an unbalanced sway where in reality it should have little
Scoped one shot rifle that nobody uses it
but for some reason crytek decides it should have the worst sway in all deadeyes
That’s why steady aim exists brother
Remember (and if you didnt know, now you know), vetterli deadeye was a laser pointer
I feel like the could give it a little more stock and still call it a 2 slot imo
With no steady aim and no perks whatsoever
Doesn't trigger fast enough
Idk if it still is i dont play scopes particulary
its a one shot 400 ms weapon that you must certaintly need to get an special ammo always (dumdum or poison usually, or HV if you fishing for heads... but meh)
It used to take like 6 seconds to activate and 12 to get to max strength but now it starts giving you a bonus instantly and maxes at 3 seconds
the sway it had back then it was unmatched (literally), because no other weapon had it
Really because I didn't notice it last time I ran my pierat kit
Kinda mid imo im looking more for pirate and less navy sea captain
understood
well thirteenth mate is the epitome of pirate but I think he’s no longer obtainable
He's closer to what im looking for but not quite either
you dont know they dealbreaker it had (this one you can obtain still i think)
brother has NO SHOES
no boots
hes running barefoot
Hes got the dogs out eeeeewwww
I was happy af because it dropped and then the dude had no shoes
the skin looks cool af but why would this dude be barefoot crytek 😭
Unless they make skin customization (god I hope not) I think you’re gonna have to settle. I doubt you’ll ever get exactly what you want
But yeah im looking for a skin like one of these fellas
Hunt is also missing some latino representation... we have Leo Nuñez and the javier escuella copycat looking ahhh
that they gave for free
He does not look like Javier escuala bro
We're there alot of Latino around the bayou back then?
he is uglier ill give you that
I mean dude, the "new" map is based around that
All the names are spanish pretty much
"oro gordo" (fat gold)
Im a lil slow sorry lol
nt man you cant know everything
Back in the 1800s I’m pretty sure there was a big Spanish presence in the southern us
Yeah, and even in the north east
Colorado....
the name itself xd
means something of color
literally
Yeah i wouldn't be opposed to it sounds interesting
I mean most of America was claimed by Spain before the colonists showed up
Not to mention Hunt was originally based in Louisiana, which was a french colony to my understanding
They have carnivals etc
Bayou is also french term adopted from native slang etc
So we need more French and Spanish representation i see
I mean it sells what it sells but we can actually count and we have more chinese or japanese hunters (that really dont even fit the description of a 1895-1896 louisiana) rather than what it is accurate
But I understand pretty lady + krag = money
There is also some free hunter which 99% of the playerbase wont read the bio, but by name it should be also hispanic
We obviously need another mosin skin with cherry blossoms on it and a geisha hunter

Antonia Higuera
yeah fr its kind of silly tbh
I remember when it released the ronin and it was meh
at least its only one
it was cool the tanto as a knife skin, the springfield which is accurate (other side of the world but meh still)
Doesn't fit the location at all
Yeah, of course
But whatever sells am I right guys
you woudnt fine a fucking ronin dancing around on a bayou XD
but whatever sells exactly
There is also (ubisoft does this all the time) portraining miniorities as characters, while ironically creating huge stereotypes about those people
We have luz mala which is a cuban native and has to be something tribal for example
(which is the case)
Like normal hispanic people do exist bruh 😭
it doesnt need to be a mexican with a moustache longer than a winfield bayonet we get it
I think alot of people dont understand people are just you know people🤣 🤣 🤣
I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t find a 21st century songwriter either Crytek, you clowns
They didn't care the money clouded their judgment
And with weapons skin is all the same
So far as I recall we have (1) chainpistol that was stolen by the black coat
that is from an spanish aristocrat
What, money they spent? I’m sure their deal was a total loss
the localization is so wrong it hurts my eyes
i have it on english always but been weeks testing it on spanish and idk who wrote this shi
but its all wrong 🥀
It is hard to find a description of something that doesnt sound edgy af (nitpicking)
Well thats usually how transitions go
Hunt lore is a pretty niche niche like 99% of people ignore this (im at fault at this too) but this event was pretty terrible in that regard
I love lore but there is a bit too much for me
Cadwell conversion pistol is translated as "personalized pistol"
Nah gang flatout wrong
"Pistola de conversión cadwell" should be the proper way
It happens on many weapons
Well if you think about it really hard it could make since considering it wasn't a real pistol and if it was made it would of been made specifically for or by one person
And the uppercut is just "long pistol"
Uppercut literally translates (same as in boxing) as "gancho"
Technically not wrong
which also means hook
Yeah it is a long pistol
but it is called uppercut
try to search it
just to find out its weird
Sounds like they need to fire their translator
Yeah the thing is, old weapons (and their respective skins) are translated properly
Like you do not need to find meaning on nitro
You just call it Nitro express, same as english
Not something (like uppercut) "long rifle"
bruh
And wait till you hear the uppermat
If this was old hunt translation, you just call it uppermat because that is its original name
Yep
On spanish is called "tunda", which is a very uncommon word to say "beating"
Huh
Yeah twin its just wrong 🥀
You would think it was knuckle duster
Tools dont have that much of a problem since most of em are old, and properly translated
but i often think that the spanish localization was done just using google
Brother
Knuckle duster
is called "american knife"
Most likely considering hiring a translator costs money
of course but lol it isnt like it would take a ton of money
Well it is based off the American trench knife so that sorta makes since
we are talking about the 2nd-3rd most spoken tongue in the world
Yeah yeah, that is why it was done by like google
It makes sense but they are not good translations in the way of being similar
I expressed myself like shit but I hope it is understood
I understand
And I already put it on feedback-ui some things (damage history) are also wrong
Dynamites show distance from the guy who throw it, not the explosive itself
But on spanish it says "distancia de impacto" (distance from impact)
which is wrong and misleading
People need to realize when using Google translate you should always pass what you are saying through it multiple times to make sure it comes out right because if it's wrong it'll change on you
Then you go to steam forums and there were guys asking "How this guy killed me with a dynamite stick out of 22m"
Well translations go often deeper, but thank god we are just translating basic and simple stuff
Like if there is no official word for it just keep it as in english
"derringer quad" for example (original from quad derringer)
Dont call it "small pistol" or some shi
Yeah i put in hunt showdown is strange and I got El enfrentamiento de caza es extraño which is incorrect
It's close but not quite right
Yeah because showdown is like confrontation (confrontación)
It is just weird
Caza: El enfrentamiento
just sounds terrible
Translation will always be weird because hardly any languages have direct translations for most things
keep it hunt showdown bruh nobody translates vermintide as "la plaga de alimañas" its just weird
wonky
Yeah yeah what i wanted to say like my point was many old things are good translations
but newer stuff they just gave up
you could say that about the game too
oopsies
who said that
😔
They probably had a translator originally but couldn't be asked to bring them back
Seems like it
People are already mass disliking your bow 3 slot suggerence lmao
they dont like their 30m crutch "nerfed"
😭
yeah i expected it
Hunt players when they cant crouch and hold for 20 mins and win:
ironically though it can make some of the most agressive shots in the game
because of near perfect jump and hip accuracy
while also being perfect for camping
Ik, same can be said about carabines with fast ROF etc or shotguns
Specially their ammos
But on practice people are allergic to having fun
because "muh kda" "muh money"
I mained hunting bow for a period of time a while ago
before hh and dewclaw were merged, even
Yes, when it came out
and it was so extremely easy compared to anything else
I told yall already
walking weapon with hip accuracy with the biggest OHK in the game besides nitro at the time
(and perhaps now, havent tested nitro, boring aaaa)
i find nitro a pretty fun weapon personally
i dont see people using it at all though
Depends, at the time it was more broken
RNG cannon
sometimes at 6* is everywhere and in other lobbies it isnt
People rather get an spammy shotty not wanting to risk the rng/price, I guess
yeah, it is also cataloged as such by events challenges etc
Its one of those old weapons that cant really fit without being blatantly op
(dolch before the nerfs etc)
because it literally is lol
if they nerfed ammo box, i could see it getting some changes/reversions and being balanced.
I dont like the deafeaning it comes with, seems like they did it to prevent CQC awareness
ammo box is really the only thing holding it up
but ironically doesnt do too much
Idk, dont like the nitro, rng cannon that doesnt take any skill unless you get practically sniped with it (now impossible due to deviation and bullet drop)
oh, well that's more of a playstyle thing than a weapon thing
mostly i see people hipfiring it with the devil, which isn't rng at all
Not really, while its true it happens with many weapons, the nitro takes the crown in that sense
it is a weapon (a rifle) that plays like an hyper accurate slug shotgun on steroids
with bleed, obviously (ages since i dont see nitro without shredder)
world spawn on towers and thats it imo
you think it's OP right now?
I dont know if OP its the word, I dont like it, but its strong, but also on a weird place
If you tweak it too much, it becomes OP
If you dont, it gets overshadowed and forgotten
But i remember when it could tap you +60m without any downside
old old hunt
I said to another user too, back then the dumdum (which was called like that) also was bugged and had more pen than the base ammo
back when hunt dollars meant slightly more
and everyone runned it
i remember that lol
Idk people were still having millions farmed, wasnt rare to find ppl with 2-3m
more damage through metal sheets or smth
now its the most normal thing ever
Yeah
And through brick too
Just bugged values, whatever
The thing I will agree about the nitro is that it could (should) in my opinion have more damage (considering its ammo pool) if you get properly wallbanged with it
What it does now, 72 upper torso?
Utter joke
And the deafeaning mechanic as a way to (what was originally inteded) nerf the "spam meta" many people were talking about back in the day just comes late as inneficient
Not to mention the playerbase that has some kind of problem and seems affected by it
just revert the wallbang change in general.
bad change all round
I been saying that too
Totally reversed (for example) how spitzer works
Before, annoying dwellers with scopes at 250m
Now the best long ammo munition for compound fights
0% downside wallbanging
2 tap on hands 🥀
yeah limb damage changes were awful too
I agree with some on some weapons, specially some compact ones
But dude lmao
They applied it without a care in the world
As always, shi needed to be tested individually and carefull instead of pushing stuff live-testing it and then asking for feedback most of the playerbase wont even complete
maybe give weapons a hidden or visible stat, "minimum damage"
no matter what, if you hit someone it would deal at least that amount of damage before distance multipliers
so you dont get so many winnie 4taps
For example, a thing I hate, as a mostly compact guy, is why the compact ammo has such stupid pen limitation
You are already at a disadvantage by being far
Why cant i pen a wood wall without fmj because im "far"
fmj is pretty much necessary on compact
And this is another problem, despite how much I love FMJ, it kills diversity
If you dont run new army with some special ammo, you are throwing
Same as the winfield
Either run FMJ or HV
but if not you are going cheap (for some reason, it is like 50 dollars you aint gonna go broke on hunt even by trying) or throwing
This is the case for pistols too
If you see a guy with a normal conversion (or chainpistol), chances he is totally lost or a new player that is kinda clueless
FMJ or dumdum, but something always on, either as a sidearm or with fanning it would help
Specially since it extends the 2 tap range (because damage dropoff as everyone knows) and the pen thingy
Removing that compact limitation would buff other compacts and allow for other things to be played
Idk why they are so afraid of buffing a bit compacts, like dude, we get it, duals and borheims can be annoying, but cmon lmao, we moved past that years ago
Also, add springfield FMJ
🗣️
all of this would be so much better if ammo box were nerfed and ammo availability for special and long ammo were reduced
Idk, I still think this should be done individually looking at each weapon, but I do agree in some sense
Long ammo has been meta since release
Medium ammo had straight up wrong values for years, same as compacts
Pistols too (now all of this is fixed, but it took how many years? lmao)
Wouldnt hurt touching those... sometimes
if damage dropoff startpoint were individual for every weapon that might be good
#game-ideas message to anyone who dislikes this suggestion, I really wanna know why? what is the issue?
Bow users that don’t want their easy one shots to require them to sacrifice other parts of their loadout
I was hoping to see if anyone who dislikes it themselves had a different reasoning
can never assume right
sometimes maybe
People dont like having their obviously broken toys taken from them
And honestly im fine with it staying 2 slot but with a extreme damage nerf to around 140
Because last time I checked you are much more likely to survive a arrow than a bullet thus it should do less damage than most bullets or atleast long ammo
I don't use bow but the cons it has I say is enough for it to be a 2 slot. Very low mv, very low drop range, your strafing speed is reduced when you have it drawn, and you have to draw it unlike Croasbow where it's just a typical reload.
Simply not enough for all of it's very strong positives
I'd say it is enough. The arrows go at the speed of nerf darts.
Not really
they really don't, within the effective range that you should be using a bow, the travel time doesn't matter much. as someone who mained bow for a good bit
and i already explained my opinion on the downside of needing to draw in my post so i don't feel the need to explain that here
the strafing speed reduction i feel similar about, it only matters in close range, and in that close range you barely need to draw anyway for an easy one shot kill.
it's also pretty much the same or the exact same iirc as aiming down sights with any other weapon, so at longer ranges that's not really a bow thing.
They dont
@inland forge small correction, you don't need to go to the other side of the map. there is a center extract.
the thing that it adds is a way to get a fight out of bounty carriers who are running as fast as they can and you physically can't catch up
damn, really crytek of them
Indeed, but this event has been the most stable the game has ever been imo so who knows maybe they'll actually fix it this time
Least stable for me. I never ran into connection problems until this update. Not sure what the deal is.
@civic ledge balance wise, what would be the point of dual melees?
it sounds kind of useless to me seeing as melees already one shot
Why was there a need for hammer, katana, spear when there was already an axe that would one shot? By that logic we should remove all long ammo bolt actions other than mosin because why do you need so mucb variety for similar outcomes.
Maybe if people can get out of their bubble of deciding things are useless because it doesn't fit their min max meta, and understand that this is a GAME and people are giving ideas about things they think might be fun to play with in the GAME. 🤷🏻♂️ but that just me i guess.
All of your examples have minor differences and fill the same weapon slots, but dual melees would just be useless. They would fill 2 whole weapon slots for the same effect as a single slot weapon.
also @grave wraith , I hate that keeping the bow drawn takes no stamina
stamina is messed up in general
like how you can throw tools with no stamina which completely throws them out of balance pun unintended
@bleak oasis I don't know how you use the Chariot card, but it does definitely not encourage teams to camp, the opposite is actually the case. The card is made to bait campers out from their trap invested lair and to stop people that just try to run away from a fight. But you have to use it correct; be more than 150 meters away from the lair - the bounty team can't see enemies and will leave the lair - then you can close the gap between their trap invested lair and them running. If the Chariot card is used then, they can't go back into their lair as you're between them and their lair and you can force a fight on open field or another compound where they have no traps. It's actually one of the most useful cards they added, but it has to be used correctly.
Melees do different things, and have different properties. You treat it as if the "axe" was a popular option. Melees (as an slot-weapon) are pretty much dead, and spear is a tool. We wont go into specifics but all melees are different, even the machete.
And dont you worry, keep ranking up and everything will be a mosin, if that is your issue
You want dual swords that do something unique? Play the finals. Dual katanas on hunt would be useless, What they would grant? More melee damage? We already have that archetype. You can run the perk and spam the special attack with no stamina cost whatsoever.
Stamina shot nerf was also uncalled for, tbh
Not really
But it's a bandaid fix
Regen shot and stamina shot are pretty strong, stam shot lets you ignore an entire game mechanic. But it is an annoying game mechanic so they need to fix that aspect of it rather than just nerf duration
dual swords are a meme in The Finals as well
No, stamina nerfs were aimed to buff solo playstyle + try to buff conduit at the time https://www.huntshowdown.com/news/developer-insight-balance-changes-coming-in-update-23?utm_source=chatgpt.com
C tier weapon vs katana in hunt (best in slot melee)
My point: not even comparable
I am unsure of where it says the stamina nerf was a buff for solos, they did mention making conduit work like it should’ve for solos though
I assume they asked chatgpt and it made shit up while providing a source that doesn't even mention it
@near heart Adding more stars won't change anything as the stars are not actual matchmaking brackets
In reality the amount of matchmaking brackets depend on the population of the specific queue
For example EU on PC has the most as the most populated region, meanwhile OCE on console has at most 2 brackets due to having way less players
And even with the EU on PC case it's something like 4 brackets afaik
And before you say "just add more matchmaking brackets then instead" they already have them chosen based on their data and playercounts, only way they add more is if we get more players
Yes, to search the patch
Im not gonna go looking manually when it was made
You go to a library that can access the source, it has nothing to do with the info inside of it
(Which is, indeed, official and written by devs)
So can you point in the link where it states what you are claiming it states?
Because all it mentions as far as I can see are these two changes:
- We have reduced the duration of Stamina Shots and Regeneration Shots.
- The Conduit Trait now gives solo Hunters double the stamina reward and progresses two Clue steps with one interaction. The previous iteration had the problem that depending on the chosen playstyle, it could be more of a drawback for solo Hunters. Now, they receive the progress and the reward from both steps, no questions asked!
No mention of the former point being "aimed to buff solo playstyle"
And the latter is about the fact that originally the change made you get 2 clues but not reward 2x the buffs from picking up a clue with conduit IIRC
This patch was mixed, but it does have certain focus toward the solo playstyle. Already mentioned conduit, and if you read, lightfoot
Why else nerf stamina here?
That still doesn't answer my question, you claimed that specifically the stamina nerfs were aimed to buff solo playstyle, but there is no evidence apart from you essentially saying "I think it's like this"
And as to why else, because they didn't want the stamina and regen shots to be as universal where you can pop them at almost any point and be good, they want you to have to think a bit more when you should use your shots
Stamina shot entirely removes the stamina mechanic, it shouldn't be something you can just pop 1-2 of at the beginning of the match and have infinite stamina for most if not the rest of the match
Patch history, look it yourself, even nearby patches have huge updates regarding solo balancing
If that doesnt answer your question, idk what to do
So far the road we have went, all of this is trivialized by either "new" mechanics or events themselves
So not a very good job
Or either, and most likely, an identity crisis
My question is about as literal as it can be, you provided the link as "proof" of your claim yet it doesn't specifically prove your claim, my question was "So can you point in the link where it states what you are claiming it states?" and your answer at this point should be "It doesn't, I just think it's like that even if it's not exclusively stated"
"patch history"
as in the-patches-that-were-soon-to-come or recent-to-this-one
Some balancing changes do not tell you directly or even manage to encapsulate why it was done. We were talking the other day (as an example) of the removal of the explosive xbow because it created exploitable strategies. They dont tell you how do to them or how it was played, but you can deduce yourself (despite it not being stated literally) how it was played
By your argument, that claim would hold no truth at all, since it doesnt appear as stated
Yeah? As long as something like that isn't exclusively stated by the developers to be the case, all you're doing is speculation
So if you played the game, and learn how to do those "explotaible strategies", by your logic, they arent real and they are just speculation
Nice
No? I'm saying that you are speculating the specific reason for why they made the ammo scarce
The devs didnt state (we could use any example, but whatever) "you can throw explosives at your teammates and they will have reduced aimpunch and damage while the enemy suffers all of it so the guy who entry frags cannot be the one doing the zonning with the explosive xbow
It could be something as simple as "enough people found it annyoing to fight against so we are reducing the amount of times you'll face them"
That is not the case, you want screenshot?
Since 2022 they have been trying to balance that for console public
the fact that they put it now as scarce as the realization of "oh dang, this is broken" because the "scarce" mechanic is now a thing is totally different
Obviously in 2022 we didnt have that
im sure you remember
instead we had other problems...
Reading between the lines and playing the game itself can help you to understand notes without them being "speculation"
I'm good, you are still missing my points and seem to not understand what is and isn't speculation so I'll move on to other things, have a good one 😄
Devs wont tell you specifically the exploits you can recreate (for obvious reasons)
Stating why they fix x y z at the time doesnt seem very speculative
No, you are the one missing stuff. Another example, the broken bunnyhop (silent) with lightfoot. They dont state that in the "fix" or the "nerf" of the perk, but you know WHY they did it. But by your logic it isnt true because it isnt stated literally "Oh, guys, we realized this is actually an exploit where you can jump without making any type of noise and rotate around while jumping and its broken af" so therefore is not real and it is pure product of speculation. LMAO. Sure, dude.
That isnt speculation, it is having played the game at the time, nothing complex here.
Now if for you everything has to be written down literally for you to take into consideration, im sorry to break it to you lad, but it doesnt happen in any game, not even in the biggest ones (playerbase wise)
When the crouch accuracy was removed & ammo nerf was reduced, they didnt tell you literally "because we wanted to balance certain broken guns like the nitro, avto, and certain dualis", they just put it in
Now saying that it was blatantly for guns like dualis conversion fmjs at the time isnt speculation, is you failling to either read between the lines or having played the game itself at the time (do you think they increased the price of those randomly one day because they felt like it later on?)
Same as if I were to say that weapon progression (XP) on variants made also on this patch were to ease players that were doing prestige. Instead they just tell you the basic stuff of what they did, now why the did it is another topic. This is logical, do you think this change is aimed toward new players? Of course not, lmao. It is aimed at people that had to re-unlock everything over and over and over again, aka, prestige players
But for you, it is also speculation
Mind you, the same literal patch that included things like gun oil or blueprint changes (unlocks, pretty much)
Now you can obviously deduce that is for players doing prestige, not for the level 11 guy that goes to a bench and finds the oil. Sure, it is nice for new players, but what is used for and developed is as another tool to skip farming XP for each variant of the weapon you wanted to play over and over again. "But it is also not true for you, as it isnt stated literally", so therefore it isnt true at all, is what you been saying. If only the world worked that way, dude xd
You're arguing with a wall rn man let it go
@foggy hearth I have no idea why your suggestion is being downvoted, after all, it is good QoL having accesibility features like those (or reducing the rays for people with light sensibility/epileptics, or turning flashes into black instead of white if those were still around lol) but I do agree
But yeah people with blood or needle phobia I mean its just hiding the animation as a settings, shouldnt be even a huge amout of work
Probably concerns about people just using it for an advantage like most accessibility features turn out. Not hearing the stim sound could help clear your audio to hear enemies.
And it's very specific. It's hard to add such a specific accessibility feature without then being inclined to add a billion others.
I have like this sort of rule-of-thumb scenario I use to judge if a game has good accesibility stuff: compare it to an horrible game that did good things (payday 2). If payday 2 has an option and your game hasnt, there is a high chance your game is shite
I get you, but that could be tweaked too
You could still hear the shot and not see the animation
I dont have a problem with this stuff but ik some people IRL that have it, same as epilepsy
and things like using a beetle are just pure pain
Trying to make some games accessible for epilepsy is just luring epileptic people in to inevitably be triggered by something. Games like hunt just can't remove all epileptic triggers
And if they try, they're making it more likely for those people to play and be at risk
I dont agree with the sound thingy, but I cant judge because I dont know, but removing the fov momentarily when using a shot shouldnt be a huge thing, but yeah, its an small issue for a very low % of players
Idk man, I get you, but some devs had doable approaches about this and they are no longer issues with it
R6 (a game that is basically shit by today) has the flashbang option implemend, and has some other anti epileptic features
Right. It's just hard to make such a targeted change, then somehow not also make an arachnophobia mode, no violence mode, no burning mode, etc
Yeah, again is more of a resource thingy thing, they have other things to work upon besides an small chunk, nearly negible
It seems very risky to me no matter what seeing as hunt has so many features that are triggering by design
<@&357256267087085568> scam
Again lol, it has happened twice in like 10 mins
Out of sheer curiosity why it is always the same scam?
at this point they would have more sucess swaping things lol
The way I see it, either an epilepsy mode would be so ineffective that it's just risky to lure people in, or it would be so helpful that all the sweats would just abuse it for visual clarity.
I don't see a middle ground where it's also totally safe for epileptic people to play
As if all the 3rd party gorbo wasnt enough 😭
HuDs, reshaders
I came across this dude (obviously a 6* on trios sweating his ass off long ammo dolch p fmj)
look at this hold on
guy was "streaming"
while using certain 3rd party HUD and the image is not bad, is a filter put on
and he could see through some cracks
the image pans more but you have names and that can be shown here etc you know how it goes
he was teaming with a dude that killed himself to expectate
Lol man had the game on apex legends mode
and having this as a second monitor to see all people on the match
and since on some timelines (at least on EU) the population on 5.5 match mmr used to be so small, it was easy af to cheese this and get paired with "your friends"
Bro I wish I would have saved the stream or the clip or whatever so you could see the quality
like this thing over here
he could see through all of that
because of sharpening filters + FXAA* sorry
so dude could see if a pixel moved, he could shoot instantly (but the hunters were totally visible through wood cracks)
I have never seen (besides cheaters) an individual so dedicated in exploiting stuff than this dweller
Like the other building, the hut that is nearby, basically soft walling
His entire premade was playing like that, dolch P with shotgun/long ammo and cheesing the shi outta this game
i remember taking a break after this lol
@idle frost 6* population isnt big enough (specially at some specific timeszones, even in the most populated regions) to have proper or "fair" matchmaking
If you are playing trios at 6*, expect to see full 6 stars up to some 5 or even 4s paired with 2 sixes
Sadly the game isnt failling at maths, there isnt just enough playerbase
The "good" thing is you get to know people
because you can be playing against the same trio for 5 straight on matches
Always been an issue, but unless Hunt pulls playerbase and makes it 6* somehow, it isnt happening anytime soon
they already bumped 5* to be 6* to compensate and it is still a problem
I was playing in Europe, but yeah it is kinda understandable, but I still think that we should get something beyond 6 star, cause I've been in that mmr gap for the last 500 hours (I played for 900+ overall) and I don't think I am a good player, whenever I meet a real 6* I am just getting dumped out. I guess there is not much to do about it, I wish Hunt would get more players.
Yeah, i get you, its underwhelming
No way
Many of us shouldnt be 6*, not even be at the highest bracket, which is silly
because the game surely has monster players, +8000h, people that play for a living etc
On the other hand we can't really have more mmr, we are already spreading people between 3 modes, more mmr starts would probably make it look worse
but sadly it is like that... always have been in part
Yeah, the problem is that the other elos have "little" mmr difference (numeric) compared to 6*, that has like a 2000 diff
Or used to be that way
More mmr stars would only extend the problem, and we would have people saying all the same "why do I have 7* players if im 6* and my teamscore on trios is 6 or 6.5"
There aint enough players, and despite what people might say out of love for the game, Hunt has always been a coin flip
The player retention is not good, you either stick around for ages or play 50h (or less) and dump it, but there has never been an steady uprising
Currently we have the same numbers as 2021, so its "stable" in that sense, but you arent getting any huge bumps
Hell, even the highest peak hunt has ever seen (1896) was a total failure where you couldnt even launch the game or play it, and it was review bombed (where we lost, via steamcharts, 20.000 players)
And this is only taking into consideration PC... console numbers could be better or worse, but assuming the lack of updates & support at the time, id bet the house on the "it was not good at all" button
When I was more new I also got killed by Hornet on 6* 🥀
He was playing rachta and (fronkie i think?) he steamrolled us this time
wow didnt make one of these for a couple months

im the guy with the exp crossbow trying to pull my secondary for the officer shot
〽️
no way im in this level dude mmr was silly back then and i assume it is too now
that was when da slug was busted af too and flashes
i hated that time thank god flashes arent a thing
Slugs then were better than buckshot now at least
Dude, way better
More ammo, more damage, more damage retention
I have the damage log screenshoted of that game
that romero shot did like 104 in 22m
cant be mad because he hit me with skilled one shot guns (hell, even the lemat was pre-buff, wasnt like an standarized shotgun like it is now, granted i was like 50 hp so it didnt matter)
but we are talking about the time the C&K had 0 recoil with slugs
OP af
Oh I mean like it was better for the game than the current buckshot
Cause current buckshot is just spam
zzzz
Spam shotguns ruined the game
Killed melee combat
and also killed close-to-medium combat
As if melee combat ever had a life
Yeah, on lower elos it did
When I started playing my friend that introduced Hunt to me everyone was new
I wish they could just remove the crowns
But skins
I think spam weapons overall are making a game experience worse
this type of stuff
Bornheim is ok though
That's the exception
Some are, some have their place (i dont have issues with borheims)
But things like vetterli cyclone shouldnt exist
Officer and double action revolvers are cool too
Yeah I see people arguing that it's not overpowered but even if it isn't it still doesn't have a place in the game
0 issues with borheim match, it was a headshot popper (still kinda is) and thank god it got its ammo pool buffed
I am okay with borheims either, but cyclone, levering, auto 4/5, it is not fun
still a 3 shot gun on most scenarios
Naw levering is fine imo
The better levering (compact ammo long rifles) is still to this day, objectively worse than pre crouch nerf fmj conversions dualis
If you stood still and crouched
easy 80m headshot
"rng"
if not dont worry, you would get 2-3 tapped either way
Its crazy because the "meta" shifted to crouching with dualis to remove rng for the most part to bow on release and slugs, aka, now walking simulator (not counting things like avto, mosin, long ammo in general and dolch & uppercut cause those have always been there)
The bow is my most hated weapon, I mean, yeah it's hard to hit, but for 2 slots and 53$ this is way too good.
Bow should be a 3 slot, and thats how it is
Hundred hands was stronger at the time
so it had crazy breakpoints
Thankfully is easy to counter them, most bow users just stand crouched and are very passive on teamfights
That's true, but there are some good ones out there, and they are the most scary enemies to deal with
Honestly, and with all respect, I have yet to find one that isnt a crouching npc / profesional angle holder
the low amounts of bows i see are on the ground
easy to bait and shotgunned afterwards
but it is a good weapon to start unperked
dolch p / uppercut precision / uppermat (on preference, basically) + bow and you have a very decent loadout
See, that is also a bracket difference
People think that you should play bow walking and shooting from hip
and they dont like poison ammo
they dont know how punishing it is to be bleeding (medium to soon, heavy) and 15 secs without heals
Also apparently the poison arrow is worse in retaining DMG and at fly distance as far as I know.
Real bow users aim and run poison on at least 1 slot
That I dont know, havent tested it, but meh
It is a really good zoning ability, better than Springfield dum dum, close to Maynard dum dum
I don't think any fire can come close to this
Of course, for the simple fact that good players stop bleed by healing (medkit or syringes)
But since you cannot do that, you need to have bloodless and still stop it
Its a huge deal in teamfights
But people think aiming from the hip is better
Sure, if you are stuck playing against 4*s it might do the job, it is strong af after all
But on teamfights totally different
So many people (still, to this day) stop the bleed first and heal later
which is a huge waste of time (specially, when we have perks that increase healing time)
lmao it is NOT hard to hit.
But with poison bow, you cannot do this
You need to do it manually, as if you were new
#game-ideas message btw @idle frost seeing as this is relevant
if you are minus 123, bleeding, poisoned, getting pushed and possibly watched via E (thanks to the perk)
At least there are less and less of them
you are dead xd
29 dislikes from people that shoot bow from the hip
easiest predictable prefire headshot in your life
28
The bot, true true
you know the saddest thing? I really want to like the bow. I want to use it, I like the concept of the weapon. but it's too broken so I feel garbage for using it xd
Unfortunately, cause this is a decent nerf without going too hard on the DMG output
It is a "big weapon", strong af against AI, strong against players (at least, unaware ones), even stronger when poison is applied, no drop, better than the xbow
Frag deals heavy bleed no matter what
(easy cheese if your team is running long ammo)
(which, they are, obviously)
And yeah, I feel bad for the crossbow, it is a bit more comfortable and that's it, those extra one shot meters don't cover 2 and 3 slot difference
I dont see why it shouldnt be a 3 slot weapon
Meanwhile we still have things that objectively suck (im looking at you, specter bayonet)
F for specter bayonet, also f for big default Romero
I still use the normal romero if im going cheap, but talon is always my go to
Half slug half buckshot/pennyshot
WIth derringer you have like 13/14 shots plus slug
Secondary fmj new army and you have a solid starter kit
I also go with the talon version, but if you are looking for a close fight to pair with any other weapon beside shotguns small Romero would be definitely better.
I love romero HC, always have loved it
I never play HC with slugs tho
because i have a rifle usually besides (yes, sadly i use QM sometimes)
I've seen a guy on YouTube that did some testing and buckshot is better on shorties in most scenarios
Romero is losing 1 meter of one tap range with buckshot
Yeah, shotguns (buckshot) was tweaked on certain weapons because it used another system that didnt work or make sense at all (barrel lenght)
Before, what you picked was always a rival (usually with slugs)
Now, id say its the worst medium shotgun of the bunch
How times change
Unfortunately I missed all that stuff, by the time I got to the game, the 'meta' didn't really change, bow showed up and medium ammo weapons got stronger
? i'm pretty certain bow has a longer one shot range.
with hh.
ah ok, i saw more romero hc than rival hc tbh
Terminus didnt exist, rival did, romero was meh
I still use it quite often with conversion fmj as a cheap fly into a compound
but yeah that makes more sense
ridiculous
Indeed
As far as I remember bow is 30 into the chest and the crossbow is 36(1 meter of insta bleed out) with steel bolts.
And with 16x ammo?
so it's effectively 32
Yeah
Now if close you could counter them if you had buckshot via wallbang
Now its totally rng, you can do 60, 30, 80 or instakill them
And now with perk to see arrows built in too
even then you need to reload and they dont
That is why you gotta be careful with romero when wallbanging
Allow me to present you my strategy shoot romero hit or miss bow guy gets confidence and gets tapped by a penny shoot tool
we burn him while we dance in circles and everything is sunny again
use throwing spear to put a stake through its heart
that's what i do to some of my enemies
This is not being talked enough, it is actually a huge buff for was already meta (spear) and an strong popular weapon on some brackets (bow)
Trivializing once again the poison ammo on high elos thingy, when you do see the bow
Spear is way too good compared to other melee tools
It goes like that, every melee has its place (minus heavy knife). Knuckle knife gets too strong as its an all rounder, still taps player to the head but deals no bleed (and so gets nerfed to infinitum). Throwing knives are shit. Tomahawk gets released and its intantly meta, they add the perk for it, now (last event) throwing knives are meta since they are buffed because nobody used them, now they get nerfed again, spear takes the place
Spear + derringer penny shot is the ultimate combo for any pve scenario and also useful in pvp
Yes
That is the way to go
Spear + pennyshot, and flares or flaregun depending on if you are playing close/long loadouts
Flayer gun if solo or chokes if in party is my choice
but flaregun objectively better
yeah dude, flaregun is better than the flares themselves
you can explosive trick much better, for example
and burn bodies no matter the distance, something you cant do with normal flares
oh was this a followup to what you just said, not a response to "flare gun or chokes"?
at the cost of more hunt dollars (duh) and learning to aim
No no, comparing flaregun and flares
Agree, default flayers are making it harder to make money and are harder to replenish, less comfortable to use but cheaper, but that cheaper price would go more expensive in the end
heavy knife is slept on imo
compared to the broken throwing tools, yea, but i think it's a healthy competitor to knife
Yeah, but knife is already another meh melee nobody uses
good stamina efficiency and killing multiple grunts at once with no need for heavy attacks, and has the best conc clear out of all the tools in the game
Its either throwing tool or knuckle knife
knife is only used for skins haha
Killing AI is not a flex sadly
if you want to kill ai, get a bat
you will do much better
it's a melee tool, what else do you want it to do???
you gonna use it to kill in pvp????
So true
Kill players at melee distance, what they used to do
Even at those scenarios back then, heavy knife sucked because of its animation
melee tools are 99% used for PvE purposes though
Now they are
Xd
Wasnt like that always og
even back then it was pretty rare to get a melee tool kill
although it was more common than now
I disagree
we are talking about now anyway so what it used to be like doesn't really matter
I wouldnt say it was common, but it could happen, and its much much rarer now via an absurd degree
Now stamina doesnt matter because you run big shot, you have cards that trivialize it, perks, conduit, 4shot etc etc
So you get a worse animation with lesser range
but "haha im cheap" as a pro
Yeah but then you have that one game where you hit a guy with heavy attack into a hand while aiming into a head and you wish to have a knife or anything else at that moment
big stam shot is a waste of a consumable slot for me
conduit is not a 1st game trait by any means
4 shot boon is silly, but you can only get that somewhat deep into a match
and heavy knife still has the best conc clear, which is the biggest pvp purpose of a melee tool right now
The animation is what it makes it bad
Its been like that since release
If I am solo I always run conduit + necro + magpie
Disagree
Agreed
No, you can get it very early if you know the map and use E, and its 1 point
Meh
Discard conduit unless you are rushing the boss
Conduit gives you an opportunity to beat the timings of any other team
You are better off with resilience, vigilant and dauntless
Disagree
Agree
Yeah 4 shot boon is dumb
Meh
Sorry, im asuming you are like me and play only trios, perhaps for solo duos it is goated
i cant find a match even if i wanted to
In the party yes, resilience must have, but as a solo I don't need it
Yep, always 1v3
Id say quite the opposite, if you are actively solo with no other teams around, you want to tank that shot
or eat that trap or whatever
die properly so you can res, even if they wallbang you
if you are at 1 hp, you cant do that
if vit shot, regen shot and stam shot are all necessary then do you not have any issues only having 1 slot left for utility?
i always bring 2 utilities
I run white shot, ammo box (sorry, yes), big stam, big regen
(on levels 1)
interesting, how do you flush people for a push?
I don't like duo mode, people seem to be more scared cause they don't have third teammate covering them while one is downed, also it is harder to move on the map cause more teams, more movement on the map
Easy, you get to a compound or a ressuply, you have already 1 slot left through stamina ussage
And since you know where each thing spawns, you can get explosives
If not, depending on the loadout, i usually entry frag
so wallbang lots
fair enough, that's a good strategy
Yes, duo is way more campy
although i personally prefer the guaranteed util of my choice
frag bomb is just so much better than a dyna stick
And its somewhat more dead on my region, at least
There is the obvious thing, people run more casually than trios and you are most likely to get 3rd partied yadayadadada
An stick alone is useless
And I always (like my friends) run dauntless
So many people dont cook or throw properly
so your explosive or choke is 80% times useless
and if you run shotguns or have good aim, it is an instant punish for the guy throwing
its funny when you kill him, drops the explosive and tks his friend
yet another thing that surefoot throws out of balance
remove surefoot
zzz
thanks
you had my vote since day 1
I dont want that shi in the game
and it causes desync problems
it is terrible no matter how you look it
another crutch
im not linking my own suggestion there
im saying you can suggest it if you want lol
It would be like reposting honestly
control c control v
but since crytek does it with weapons im guessing its fine
🥀
Ok guys, it's been a long time chatting here. Before I leave I want to give out a hot take.
Same, gonna eat
ok we're braced
Recent DMG changes to limbs and changes to losing DMG over distance where a bad changes.
is that really a hot take
seems pretty reasonable
I didn't really see anybody complaining about it, so I guess.
@echo valve #feedback message
Why do I see the default skin when I top up my account? I bought skins, installed them, and now I want to see what I chose! We paid for this! I agree that we get certain skins from killed hunters, but we should get our own skins from yellow boxes that don't belong to anyone!
What in tarnation are you even saying?
Think they want tools looted in-game to apply skins you own.
Which honestly I wouldn't mind bc otherwise I'm never gonna see that poison bomb skin in action lol
OK, but the boxes are orange not yellow XD. Also the "don't belong to anyone" threw me off.
Thought they were wanting frickin lootboxes or something.
What I'm talking about is:
- We buy skins
- We put them in the menu
- We find a yellow box
- We pick up an item and it's a damn standard skin
- Where is what I bought and why should I look at standard skins?
Leftovers from it being more hardcore oriented (like when we used to have to pay Blood Bonds to clean our own gun after being revived). World and Hunter looted items count as Contraband, and Crytek has not yet decided to allow skins to be applied to Contraband after extracting. What you want with the skin already being applied when looted though (though unchangeable from that skin as it would be Contraband) I'm sure would be more agreeable.
What you typed just now would be better to put in your #feedback post, becasue that was easier to understand than an angry rant.
I dont miss the gun cleaning but it could be brought back as a way to clean contraband items perhaps so theyre no longer contraband
contraband status kind of feels like a moot point these days anyways
Gun cleaning is a deep cut
another star bracket do nothing. Current mmr changes made only because crytek partners whining about "Oh man searching is longer than 1 min. Oh dude server is half empty". And now almost 1/3 of mmr range ocupied by 6 star. If you feel you dont belong in 6 star, so deal with it, we just meat for their entertainment
Is it? Gun cleaning isn’t that old
yall dont think free look would be any good?
still thinking the number one thing I want most is for the ai to path straight to us, shamble over things, and fall off things to get to us in the most linear path possible, hate when ai find a reasonable path to take to use
@jaunty copper cool ideas. Maybe the dead velvet boss could be related to the one from Waldmann's story. It would make it feel cohesive to the lore and could lead to some fun roleplay
And I would love to see high damage pickaxe-wielding zombies in mine compound/s
ooooh, yes!
I suggested it for a friend whose recently started playing with severe needle phobia. He actually finds the sound just as triggering as a visual unfortunately. I understand concerns about it being abused; a balance could be that it's turning off the sounds for everyone that uses them, so you then lose out on audio knowledge that might influence when you push, etc?
Someone made a cool suggestion based on yours. Having alternatives to the shots that are smelling salts
I also have a extreme phobia of needles and honestly it really bothered me at first but you get over it, it also helps that the injection site is just slightly out of frame
Also Sorry but imma be honest this game was designed to be slightly disturbing and if you're friend really can't handle it the game just isn't for them because the same could be said about the spiders there is no arachnophobia setting and there probably never will be its just how the game was designed
Basically, huge health shots are pretty commonly used, and since (quite song time) it takes more to inject than "small" vitality shots
that sound can be crucial for you to wallbang the guy and kill him before he heals
(this is just an example)
@weary valve Your post was removed since ideas should be readable in the post itself rather than being a link to some doc and they should be kept to one idea per post
All good! Noted
If jack the reaper (circa 1888 on uk) had an scottfield with hunt stats he wouldnt have manage to kill anyone 🥀
I'm aware, that's why to avoid ppl 'abusing' the mechanic I suggested the sound is removed overall in that setting, so anyone using it doesn't get free info.
While ideally people shouldn't have to worry about their phobias while playing the game, this is the first time I remember seeing someone mention the needles in Hunt as a problem for them. The more common phobia related issues have been arachnophobia and trypophobia
So honestly speaking I don't know if it's big enough of an issue to warrant work put into it
If we need anything accessibility wise they should start with colorblindness filters
I agree bigger features for disabled players should take priority for sure
#game-ideas message I gotta ask for thoughts from anyone willing to read this text wall
I dont think regen shot negates the need for other healing. I'll still bring weak vit shots for a quick instant heal when needed since the weak shots are a quicker usage than the full ones
also stuff like doctor and physician are still good because you'll still usually bring a medkit or use ones found in the world
I think the regen is good in its current state
We don't disagree there
It makes tags less valuable
Healing used to be something that you would deplete with time
yeah fair
But now you tag someone and they just hide and heal without spending any medkits
It makes tags utterly meaningless a lot of the time
Less valuable is an understatement imo
Depends
My point is not that other healing is useless, but that it is no longer a resource that needs to be properly managed.
But I also hate the status effects/custom ammo
also fair
And would prefer all custom ammo being scarce
Another thing surefoot ruins tbh
I dont run custom ammo, at least the status effect ones, except for on bolts
Surefoot and regen are a nightmare combo for the health of the game
but at the same time surefoot + pitcher, great for running and throwing items
maybe if they only kept regen shot as a weak version
instead of giving us a full version too
Well I'd prefer it to what we have right now at least lol
yeah I mean its not a bad idea, it does bring up some good points
I feel like its a hard item to balance though because too much in either direction, buff or nerf, it negates the use of other items or becomes useless itself
Meh, depending on the bracket as always, but most commonly tags are meaningless if the guy isnt killed, most of the time (as said) you dont even get to burn their medkits
You either get OHK or headshotted
Honestly balancing regen has been problematic since release
We dont need to go far, from the very moment it allows you to break some breakpoints and tank a 3rd shot while fighting back or running, its a must have
It should just be another resource you spend when you get hit, have it be on timer but also have a limited amount of HP it can heal
Or the timer goes down faster when you are actively healing
This wouldnt hurt but id like to see it tested on vanilla hunt
could give it limits
not on event showdown 1896
Heal 2 full bars of health or 4 small bars.
So it has limited usage during the time and can run out of healing
maybe
idk the best way of balancing that
if mechanics like that are trivialized because events and 4shot boons among other things, most likely they wont do a good job at the end of the day
beyond any major regen tweak id like to see it first on vanilla hunt
or on TTS, rather than the live-testing method
that leads to "oh this is broken" or "oh this is explotaible" and then fixing it a year later and calling it content
yeah
I think capping how much it can heal during its timeframe might be the move
cause then you can still get the duration but then it only heals so much
so once it reaches the equivalent of lets say 2 large bars or 4 small bars of healing, it stops, but we might need a UI indicator for people
That would be too little for it to be worth it tbh
I mean I just picked an arbitrary amount of health bars
Needs to be somewhere around 200-300hp worth of healing at least
it really could be anything
but I was basing it off of health bars just because it makes it easier for me to visualize how much healing it would do
I honestly dont have a problem of how it works right now due to the meta being instantly killed
If you get tagged it just means downtime for you
I dont think it needs further nerfing, but that is just my opinion
yeah, like even in its current state if I get tagged, If Im not using a medkit or a vit as well, I'll take cover or move positions while I regen
so it still takes me out of the fight to get tagged
Yeah, and if you are getting pushed its the typical high risk high reward scenario
do you want to either heal fast + medkit to fight full hp or risk getting downed/trading/killed
Thats why I insist on testing it out of events, even if you burned all of the medkits while playing like that, you can get to a pledge box and get all your meds back (among other tools ammo etc) for 1 point so lmao who cares about regen
Idk, with so many more long ammo added into the game, besides buffing to the medium, regen doesnt seem that bad, if you start with a lvl 1 hunter like everyone it can be annoying burning 2 meds because someone tagged you
I think regen its in a fairly good place rn, despite it all
As someone who's played since 2018, I just preferred the gunplay and fights more back then overall. Tags mattered, applying status effects took specialized equipment like consumables rather than you having 30 incendiary/bleed/poison bullets, calling out who you downed mattered as they were guaranteed to be missing a bar but not anymore with all the recovery traits and recovery shot
So much powercreep and making some things too accessible
I mean, the game was very punitive if you were downed
You can understand it is not fun for the general playerbase (not for the majority, probably) if you die cause some goober was on a tree with a lebel and now you are doomed for the rest of the match
I want bar recovery outside banishing as well, I just don't like how it was implemented
I think white shot was W, and regen also was
Peacekeeper was the most balanced way to get bars back as you had to loot a body for it
at least gives something to fight off long ammo
Recovery shot is the worst offender, the traits have at least some indicator of them being used/activated
With recovery shot you just have to assume they have one always
Which makes calling out people who you downed pretty much pointless
Which is the case in most lobbies, even when playing with randoms
And it is fair, it doesnt feel nice dying to a toe shot because you died once
Game was too punitive against some weapons (long ammo) and very little to those that werent using such weapons
Before FMJ was a thing even, or special ammos
It doesn't, but why should you be able to make you getting downed not matter near instantly in the same fight
You tank 2 winnie shots but if they hit you with mosin or whatever you are dead
just boring and forcing stalemates
The whole point of downing someone is to put them at a disadvantage even if they get revived for the duration of the fight
People dont want to fight because they will get toe tapped
Bar restoration should be something that happens more between fights
Because in my opinion, the game is much more fun like that
If you killed someone, you make sure they stay downed
If they get up and heal, thats on you
With this revive speed and necro? Doesn't happen that often
Of course in some scenarios this isnt possible
Reviving is very easy
I dislike the changes done to necro, it should have been audible as it was before
like more audible
still is, but you know, lesser now
As it should be, honestly, I agree with necro not removing HPs anymore since you can get to fight instead of having to waste time
Hunt is a shooter (despite what anyone might say), not a wall looking simulator
And (said this countless times) it is actually more fun (and it should be) if people played it more casually as an arena shooter instead of a sweating simulator
Which I agree with, but that can happen even without trivializing the gameplay by making nothing matter as much anymore
It's more of a issue with the players than the game honestly
And no matter what is changed those kind of players will always exist
Yeah, but I dont think this happens because of the "new" added shots, but because of the constant event mechanics and its balancing
Hardly
It is what it is
🥀
Events come and go, they are a factor but we are comparing them to core game mechanics that exist between all events
The thing is core mechanics cease to exist once you are on a perma-event based game
Having 2 months where "nobody" plays and then getting an event which is basically recycled skins and QoL doesnt seem like a good way to do things
And I do believe steamcharts has a point in this regard, playerbase is "solid", small, but solid, but you aint getting any bumps, just the same ol dudes playing this
I dont think they come and go since a long time bud, they are 24/7 basically
Except our average in the last 30 days has been the highest since the engine upgrade last year
when they arent, people dont play and say "hunt is dead"
ignoring the core of the game
which hurts balance, btw
Engine upgrade improved many things (like the terrible AA og hunt had), but Hunt literally gained nothing
An influx of new players that soon came and went
20k players lost
People who say that Hunt is dead haven't got a clue
Not my point, we all know it was a flop, point is that we are going back up
Sure, for us, the players, it allowed many things
but for the higher ups, they want to see green numbers and money with the minimal effort, as 99.9% companies
Time will tell
seems pretty stale
The only reason this game hasnt closed down is because it is Crytek cashcow
New World had similar playerbase since update (50-60k players on steam, and a higher all time peak) and it closed
Because its amazon, and since it doesnt benefit them to keep it running, it is getting closed soon
NW was closed because Amazon is scaling down (basically cancelling) its gaming efforts.
Exactly my point: huge company that has several other projects and doesnt need this to survive, no green number --> live service taken down
On the contrast, Crytek does need Hunt
And you know it wasn't earning on itself how?
Saying that the game hasn't closed because it makes Crytek money is such a nothingburger of an argument imo, "Only reason this icecream is still being produced is because it makes this icecream company money". It's basically their only product at this point and even if they go back to making and releasing Crysis 4 it's obvious that it wouldn't generate as much revenue as a multiplayer live service game
Water makes things wet kind of an argument
Dude, that is literally it; its their only product
If hunt closed down, where do you think Crytek would go?
To their 5th bankrupcy?
xD
"nothingburger of an argument" more like real-world-scenario but oh well
No, contrary to what people might think, New world was actually earning quite some
But amazon decided to layoff (you guessed it) in order to hoard more money
Sorry but what about the crysis frenchise? and the cryengine
They literally kicked out everyone
Crysis franchise isnt a moneymaker
The cryengine isnt only used for cryteks games its a product
Yes, and which famous products use cryengine, specially this new version?
You cant compare this to UE4 or UE5, like it or not
Kingdom comedeliverance would come to mind quickly
Or the sniper games
Whatever they get from licensing their engine is likely less than what they make with their own in house live service game
I'm sorry, I fail to see any point in anything you're saying. Crytek is a game and engine developer. They sell both - to make money, yes. Your point being...?
Dude, that doesnt gain them enough revenue
yeah
It is already stated above. Hunt is the cashcow of Crytek
like it or not, it is what it is
"Cashcow" - as in it makes them money? Well yeah that's the point lol
No, as the company is basically sustained on this single product that generates way more revenue (and thus get more support) than its other projects
So far what we are hearing, that they were working on the crysis?
It is their product what is your point? there is a lot of dev studios out there that have one main game or just a single game
Why are you saying it as if it's a bad thing though? Pretty much all of us here want them to focus on Hunt
Assuming that's true, you're still failing to convey any point at all
A company has a product that's more successful than some of its other products. Is that supposed to be a bad thing? For the company? For the product? So confusing.
While I like Crysis as a game series I'm not that heartbroken about Crysis 4 being put on ice
and mind you the indie games are a big hit although its their only game most of the time
Not a bad thing per se, just that they need to be extra careful with what they do
we were talking about balancing, remember
Dont compare indie developers to crytek dude
its literally a meme
Crytek used to be a huge european dev
not exactly your "indie" dev
Prey 2017 as well
Crytek is an indie developer, always was.
what kind of balancing are we talking about i am not reading all 500 messages yall sent
or the sniper franchise
No? XD
Prey was such a good game
yeah which those games run quite well
Really? Someone bought Crytek? Damn, I wasn't looking for one second!
I just played through contracts 2 recently
I don't think you understand what indie and AA or AAA means unless you are trolling
they arent indie
Crytek/Hunt is more of a AA game/studio atm
theyre indie in the independently owned sense but theyre not indie as in games
They're independent, not owned by some massive Yank publishing company. Close enough.
Ok crytek being indi is a crazy take
Right now they are, yeah
Not crazy, just ignorant of what "indie" means
That doesnt mean they are indie, Crytek (as stated above, again) was a huge european company
They are self-publishing but not self-funded, they are a big company with investors still
yeah it s not that hard of a definition but you know what i mean with crazy
A "huge" company, eh? Right.
R* is also based on europe (scottish), you wouldnt say "oh but they arent owned by yanks so its okay they indie"
big enough, around 400 employees
Yes, they have several studios around the world, with many employees. You compare this to an indie studio? Lol
Precisely my point, owned by the chinese
plus subsidiaries
400 employees is "huge" today? All right, you do you.
it is all relative, of course
Not indie by any chance
not a shot in the world
^
Like Valve is technically Indie in the independently owned sense but theyre not an indie game studio
Man, valve must be the most independent game company in the word lol
I think we all know its not indie, can we go back to the balancing point you were talking about. And could you recapitulate what you were saying about balancing
To call valve, one of the biggest publishers of all time, an indie company
"yeah microsoft is indie too"
Right. I came here to whinge about auto shoguns anyway 🫡
Which they won't remove btw and asking for it is pointless 😄
Again, I said independently owned but not an indie game studio
Would be more productive to suggest actual changes to them
But they won't flat out remove them
