Imagine a game still not adding cross-play invites and running a business fine with 12k players lmaoo I bet we could short crytek stocks make a KILLING

I mean even then it just doesn't matter that much because of three reasons, the person reviving gets 50 of their health burnt, the person getting up has one chunk and it takes a long amount of time. It takes complete dedication in doing that entire process. The only time that would really work is if the other team is doing a poor job of watching the body.

Which begs the question, why do the devs continuously introduce "cool new things" to the game that destroy the sound aspect? They have literally said for 2 years now, "we know this game is 90% sound, but we think it's super cool to deafen your gameplay with our ideas without play testing them at all. And because we don't actually play the game, we refuse to listen to anyone who says our ideas aren't pure gold."
Light rain = very cool effect, should def keep
Heavy rain = ruins the game play, blind and deaf, dumbest shit ever
event fog = very close to being as dumb as heavy rain, blind mixed with loud false sounds

That's a really weird comparison, heavy rain is applied to everyone and is temporary. Solo lightfoot is permanent and on a single player

It's fine as is, problem with heavy rain was that it was so frequent.
It's not fine, it literally breaks the biggest aspect of the game for 5-10 minutes every 2-3 minutes.
Lightfoot for solo is fine as is. How many times have you been killed as a solo walking into the middle of a trio parked in the forest doing nothing?

@ancient matrix letting people get old time limited skins is very bad idea, then mythic is nto MYTHIC rarity anymore and you cant expect to just to game later date adn get same rewards as players who have played the game longer. Time limited skins need to stay time limited and should never come back again

There are only so many days each year, and they 'must' start concentrating on the base game, and resist drowning the game with events.

Reading over the recent blogpost, they are focusing much more heavily on the base game, UI, and balancing issues. Events aren't going away even with the focus shifting more to the base game, as they bring in players and money- both of which the game needs to survive. We have yet to get any news at all about an incoming event, there's only speculation that since we've historically gotten a March event, we are likely (but NOT guaranteed) to get one.
But as I said- in their own post, they mention 2025 will be less event heavy
Whats the issue with this? Every other game works fine but Hunt...

Ehhh I don't agree. I shouldn't be blocked from using content I paid for.
I started playing in January, and 5 more of my friends bought this game because we liked it. But after the event was removed, it became boring to play. I kindly ask that if you add an event, at least keep it until the next one, because it's really sad when so much content is taken away all of a sudden, and nothing is given in return. Even the 7th anniversary of Hunt went by without anything special—just discounts on characters and a promo code that immediately expired? Come on, who does that? A streamer highlight reel instead of a beautiful cinematic? It looks pretty disappointing.
By that logic the weapon skins should make the weapons 100% free as well because you spent money on them

Hunters and weapons are two different things.
Game offers plenty of ways of gaining cash back that it would be pretty surprising to even be at a flat 0. Especially for hunters that are 100.

Besides the fact most people can't afford the 100 skin tax in every single game, I think the point is being missed, what people see, and I've heard this complaint from alot of new players and their reluctance ito spend money, is there is no other game which limits the use of a skin once you've purchased it.

We do not currently know, but really based off of what I’ve seen of the now scarce dum dum for centennial I really don’t think we’ll see revive bolts that much
Feels like a soft removal of them from the game aside from the occasional instance you’ll see em
Personally, I like the idea of a "combat medic" loadout. The fact that you can have something so potentially powerful as a revive bolt on a one-slot side arm that can take two separate ammo types is what really ruins it, in my opinion. I'd be happy if they moved revive bolts to the regular sized crossbow and only allow for the one ammo type on it if chosen. Your primary weapon would then have to be a pistol or a shorty if you take quartermaster with it.
Bro it’s not that deep. I have 300 grand in the bank and spend 700-1500 on each loadout. I’ve never had money problems in this game.

Bow rebalance - arm or leg shot 25 damage for quickshot 50 for full draw. Still causes bleeding

Congrats, money doesn't exist for you. The other 99.999% of us still have to contend with hunts economics.
For every 1 bush camper I've met, I've faced 1000 trio's inside lairs meant for duos with no consumables.
But yeah I'm on board for some sort of way to force people out of lairs.

Not sure what you're complaining about? You're using a silencer, which drops the dmg falloff 10m sooner than base winnie, and you were over 10m father out?
Also compact vs medium?
Winnie silencer isn't 10m reduced falloff, it just adjusts the curve (unless they changed it with the recent silencer changes)
I think you hit the minimum damage by like 75 meters
meanwhile the regular winnie doesn't hit that same minimum until like 150ish
Stats of both guns and the ammo types being used in that fight. Frontier silencer with FMJ has damage start to fall of at 105 meters. My damage was 61 at 42 meters. Maybe you should actually look at the stats of the weapons before responding.
That's not how the stats work
Drop range is where the projectile starts having enough bullet drop where you need to adjust your aim
Dmg falloff is 20(?)m with pistol and 30(?)m with compact rifle minus 10m for silencer

Why would I need balancing in a hardcore PvP shooter? The only balance should be a greater reward. Other than that the playing field should be equal and more challenging for solos, but yeah, get personal, that's always the best solution.

I was offered 6000 hunt dollars and I put the code in, Never worked. Never got the hunt dollars. Got a offer of 100 blood bondes and sent a trouble shoot request and crickets

I was offered 6000 hunt dollars and instead got an update that killed the game. It won't load at all any more. I've reinstalled it and reinstalled every driver. The issue is with the game that worked until they decided to break it...again

I hear frustration, and do understand your emotions. But a scam? Yeah, I don't agree with every decission myself.. and I hate them balancing things in insane ratioes, and not picking up the issue for months. But you have gotten new stuff. New map, engine, weapons, enemies.. Calling it a scam, and becoming hostile is an overreaction. So I can only assume something has happend that made the game less fun to play. Share it with us! 🙂 I am considering a break myself. My favorite weapons is the lever actions.. centennial in particular. They are getting nerfed, and nerfed, to the point that they are less fun for me to use. More recoil, spread, less firerate, levering becomming expensive, all custom ammoes nerfed. and sadly no new once that I like. Even worse.. by nerfing my centannial, that I have used constantly for years with fmj.. Makes me feel like crytek is telling me that my weapon, that has been so difficult to use in so many situations.. Somehow was op without me noticing.. Makes the pride and joy I have felt in my six star into less of an achivement. A kd of 1.86 into a dissappointing "was the gun carrying me?". Which somehow has soured my enjoyment of the game. Taking a break might be healthy, despite the huge investment of my time I have used in it. Now the centennial is gonna be even slower then the krag.. and I just know it is gonna be even less fun for me in a game where double tap matters alot. But I have had a lot of great times.. Just hope more western games comes out in the future. The reason why I found hunt, was because RDR 2 was delayed in 2018, and I was looking for a game to carrying me over. It did not only do that, but outlasted rdr 2.. and now 7 years laters, am I considering a break!. No regrets. 😉

We've been spoiled with clash which takes all the best things about hunt - big, multi-team compound fights, and now it's hard to go back!!
Hi Crytek, I fully understand why the trade window was reduced but the it really sucks for people playing with higher ping. I am from South Africa and my best server is Europe with 170-180 ping and the amount of times I get invalidated hits is just ridiculous. No idea why you would go from 800ms to 85ms, like a lot of other balances you have made to the game you just take it too far! The logical thing to do is to make the trade window the same as the ping limit which is far as I know is 225ms, or change the ping limit to 85ms and reimburse all the players that cant play below this threshold. I have over 2000hrs and love Hunt but at this point it is not enjoyable to play and very frustrating.
They should just remove the trade window altogether, your poor ping is your problem, not anyone else's

@tulip cedar "join people from further away" leads to very undesirable effects in a competitive multiplayer game. Even less "fair" than playing against someone who's rated higher in a fairly arbitrary rating system. In other words: If an idea for a fix makes the experience worse: it's not a fix
You really shouldn't feel entitled to get a good experience in an online multiplayer game when you are unfeasibly far away from your peers. This makes the experience worse for everyone who has to play with you. You feel like a cheater to them because, to them, you are "ping abusing" - even if you aren't doing it on purpose because that's "as good as it gets for you" - still, this "as good as it gets" is "really bad"

if "playing with your friends" makes you have a ping of 180ms, it will feel like cheating to other people on that server

I can assure you playing on 180 if anything puts the person on that ping at more of a disadvantage. you are getting an easy game if anything not my problem if you can't hit shots. the problem is something closer to 300 that is where ping abusing comes into play. people who "ping abuse go way harder than 180ms.

I feel like hunt has been trying to climb a hill for most of its existence. I thought some updates even maybe a battle pass or two would send us bearing down hill through the other games out here, but I’m starting to change my view. To See, flat muddy ground, not climbing but instead pulling ourselves through gunk while something clings to us. Something not good not bad but, different. Different to anything out there and I would prefer not to lose this difference to the gunk.

Those other games have systems within the game to facilitate invites and friends lists.
Hunt does not. Even pc relies on steam and not anything in game
Now as to how hard/expensive it would be to build that framework and if it'd be worth the cost and effort?

Like they’re able to get out? My buddies and I don’t use lethals very often and we practically never get caught in them, so I don’t have a good enough sample size from recent months. The one or two I have hit did kill me

Slugs got hit pretty hard by deviation and other changes

Marvel Rivals had it Day 1 of the game dropping.. every successful game has it. It helps the game. Proof is in the pudding. Unarguable. Create Crytek account.. Xbox and ps5 same servers already why cant we log into crytek account and invite another. I feel its the tiniest baby step in programming to get it together.

For what its worth... rather than zooming in, its easier to Right click the Graph and select "open image in new tab"

According to the recently released survey results, players are getting a lot less trades lately. This is good in-and-of-itself, but I feel like the culture and emotions behind trades has completely shifted. This might just be me, but every trade i've gotten recently has felt earned, like my teammates can make a play off of it, and when I'm running solo, necro gets to come in clutch. What do y'all think?
I am hesitant to call the issue "Fixed", but I feel like trades are down to muzzle velocity rather than latency now, so there isn't much to be done.
Trades feel like they're in a good spot
as you said, the few times Ive had them happen, it feels earned
Adding velocity for bullets in a fps means that trades will always be present, even funnier when considering that hitscan fps also have that issue, but much more rarely.

That seems to be a bug that people experience, but just to make sure it's not on your end make sure you have "Mute All" turned off + the right input + output devices selected
I want a channel to report hackers, showing evidence or something like that, I can't stand reporting players who use illegal things, falling into the same game more than 5 times a day.

They mean just the "trade problem" isn't fixed because trades still happen but at this point is is mainly due to the game having projectile fire
So there is a travel time which will inevitably result in trades
But I agree, the trades I've felt happen feel like legit trades

Crytek gotta fix their disonnect issues. Its so annoying having to keep retrying reconnect on and on and still either getting stuck on a blank game background or infinitely loading screen. Fix your stuff - test these issues. No other popular game has so many disconnect issues.

There is new player protection. They are under that protection until prestige 0 bloodline rank 100 after which they join the normal queue . . . Unless they partner up with someone already past that point.
You are the one who took away his newb protection when yall partied up together
Any other way you do it wouldnt be fair because either you couldnt play together or it'd bring you, the experienced player, down into the protected queue

The Bullseye name correspond to all weapons with a scope but no stock. Also the way the player hold the stripper is prevented by the scope. That said, it could use a faster reload compared to the rest.
Anyways hopefully this update just brings more gameplay

idk - letting vets play against new players would be problematic even with the vet having 1hp ^^ - maybe a "vs ai"-mode to roam the maps and explain things and mechanics, show mean angles, etc - where there's nobody else around to get clapped by the experienced player

in general, i agree with @empty oasis that an experienced player who invites a new player into a party has the responsibility to harden them so they can stand on their own in the shark tank - it is the vet who pulled them out of the kitty pool, afterall - you can't later on be like, no fair, they're screwed now - that's on the vet, not crytek, for not training them well enough for what the vet got the other fellow into
I am flattered. But we are not gods. We do get hit, and to be a one hit to most weapon is a huge drag. I think the problem here is that we can't make matches 100 % fair. People are differently skilled. But we need players, and people want to play with friends. If two best friends can't play togheter in this game because their skills are different, then we loose them. If the better player is willing to nerf himself to play with his friend, then that is a fantastic sacrifice.
I am sorry, but it is a bit of a talent here aswell. How calm can you be in fights. Strategic are you? How fast cannyou react. I can't train a 3 star to become a six star. I can help him, but I can't fix him.

Honestly sometimes people just aren’t cut out for it. There are 3 stars with 3000 hours and 6 stars with 30. Some people are just better at games than others. That doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun

But I don't wanna fix my mate. I want him to have fun. He can't have fun being headshot by players in a six star lobby, he didn't even see. It is fine if we are okey with loosing players. But truth is that friends recruit each other into games, and we should help friends to play with each other. Hunt is a game after all, and needs a player base.

honestly it’s a matchmaking problem. My main duo is a 3 star and we used to get good matches back in this games heyday where all our fights were fair and we got matched with players that were around our mmr average. They’ve tweaked the matchmaking so much and now it seems if you have one 6 star on your team you only get six star trios

also, having "that one six star clap an entire lobby of four stars on account of having two and three star mates" wasn't exactly "fair" either

But we are always complaing about unfair matches. I have played since 2018, and it was always a topic. We also put to much stock in those stars. I am six star, but I do meet four stars that are talented, but gets killed alot because of their aggressive playstyle. Doesn't mean they are bad players. They are just having more fun by being a bit more direct.

Hunt is one of the few games I know, where "fairness" are being argued to the point of milliseconds in firerate on some weapons. Sometimes I wish the mmr system was invisible. I think seing the difference, makes us feel more unfairness then it actualky was.

I had a friend that was really into discussing strategy with me. Then they realeased the star system. Made him realise he was a 3 star, and I was a six. He stopped discussing strategy after that. It took away the confidence. He became a follower, constantly asking what I wanted him to do. Ruined our dynamic. Such a shame. Crytek can indeed hurt friendships.

yeah, same with my kda-obsessed buddy - great game-sense and stragegizing - but too timid, missing opportunities, afraid to miss, on account of not being an ace shooter (probably, mainly due to not taking those shots and practicing how to lead - every shot you don't take is a missed opportunity to learn/to hit)

The reason for that, is gameplay balance.
Realistically there'd be no reason to use the "outdated" bullet shape of the regular ammo in Hunt. That's why IRL bullets developed into this shape, they fly further, faster and more precise while not loosing a lot of stopping power.
However using a straight up superior ammo for a bit higher cost does not make for a particularly fun gameplay experience

I really think Crytek has to change the burn system back to the olden days. No burning with bullshit like dragonbreath and flares. Just with yellow barrels or fucking oil lamps. Yes, this means a solo could potentially get back up after you leave if you do not find an oil lamp. Yes, you can not force out teammates every time they prefer to run instead of fighting. So, you have to keep in mind that there is, maybe a guy getting back up and coming after you. Unless you find a lamp or have enough traps to fuck em over - another topic but traps are pretty lame as well. This game was about tactics, movement, SOUND - god the sound was great once - and outplaying your opponents. All everybody does now is instaburning, all the time. If you want it that way then just get rid of the fucking burn system and declare people DEAD DEAD once they go down. Burning as it is today ruined the revive system.
And next, make only one exit on the map visible to everybody! The other exits can only be found if you literally see them with your own eyes or you have picked up a bounty. You will get rid of many exit campers and people just waiting inbetween an exit and the bounty. Then, you make the bounty WORTHWHILE! You should get a lot more money from killing a boss and extracting a bounty. Also you need to get something special, something you can not get otherwise!(maybe special traits?) Incentify getting a bounty! Why would I want to get a bounty when it's more lucrative to rat people out, loot them and cash registers than doing the actual fucking objective of the game?
And then get rid of the absolute bullshit that is any kind of explosive bolts and arrows. Get rid of the super fucked res-bolts - not only make them scarce, get rid of them! Or dramatically change how they work. They are just plain stupid and thousands of videos of good teams show how stupid they are. They made a clownshow out of fucking intense fights. And then make all the special ammo either disappear or scarce. I would prefer you get rid of fire and poison or rework how fire ammo works. Poison ammo is just stupid. FMJ is real and has its value and drawbacks, so does the dum dum for rifels and pistols. Get rid of all this other crap.
This game was so great, yes riddled with bugs and shitty servers! 100%. But at least they are trying to fix that shit now. If Crytek would focus on the core and not gimmicky shit, this game would steadily rise and thrive. Crytek could do so much. Work on balancing, bugfixing, servers, pingissues, cheaters and then make a new map (every year?), try out ways to make the bossfights more engaging, and sure on top of that you have your designers that make skins you can sell. I bought everything up until the end of 2023, because I loved the game and wanted to show support. But the game devolved into something it was never meant to be and I and both my trio mates stopped playing, one after another. I was the last one leaving Hunt a few weeks ago... we have over 10k hours over the last 5 years shared across the three of us in Hunt. We loved this game! Crytek can bring it back when focusing and understanding what made this game so unique and polish it.
And for gods sake begin to understand, that "nerfing" a weapon via its price is never going to work. If you make very strong weapons and justify it by a high price, it will only affect people who are already losing their matches because they wont bring out enough money to buy the meta stuff. But the people who have the meta stuff and are good and bring home a lot of dough( I have over 300K and it only becomes more and more, I do not care what loadouts cost!) they dont worry about that. Stop prizing shit because you want to balance it. Balance is regulated by its values like damage, reload speed etc...

The fact is the game has had terrible leadership from mr cod for a long time, they dont listen to their true fanbase and have completely lost connection with what made this game unique, its lost it identity. Now for the past month we have seen average playing numbers not seen since 2021! Yet they end up mean something anyway. A six star solo is supposely amazing against duoes and even trioes if we are to believe the comment-sections. And I personally believe that the stars do split people up, " You are the reason we have to play aginst high mmr, and now I get killed all the time!". The game kinda wants you to play with similar skilled friends. I played on a six star match the other day, and one team had a one star with them. So teams was: 666, 666, 661, 666. We all had a fun time.. But I do worry that 1 star might be feeling like he is a third wheel.
I would agree. And low confidence is indeed an apt description of my friend. But it is not a crazy intrepretation either. "I keep having to play with people that the game says are better then me. I can't hear or see them. My friend survives every match and gets kills. Our team mmr keeps going up! This isn't fun anymore. I should play something else!". Which is what happend.. There are only so long a guy is willing to loose, before he gives up.

It is not a bad idea... All do Hunt becomes a chore then. For I can't play competitive anymore. I can't make kills. Everything is defensive, being my partners bodyguard. And for what? Hoping that my partner gets better during those matches? You get raised very quickly in this game.. I wish there was a mentor system. A nerfing of me, so I can play competive, and also he can play against his level, and it feels fair for the rest of the community. If it is to give me 33 - 50 % less hp.. or whatever. Then sure.. that's fine. Force me to play a old coot characther that coughs, have less stamina, and more sway.. we can find the balance I think. 🙂

@flint sapphire bounty hunt is not boring, its the main aspect of the game and should be, if hunt becomes call of duty it dies, it needs to keep its original identity, if you want to play game with fast fights and dont have time to play max 45 min matches then dont play the game. games that need to "be for everyone" are for no-one, those kind of games die out because they lose their identity instead of being unique in their own way. Hutn doesnt need to be big and strong game that rivals cod and bf because it doesnt. quality over quantity
edit: also if you just run around only to get killed that means you cant move quietly, game is mostly about the sound and hunting

I play this game with one person (or rather used to play. I haven’t played a hunt match in close to a month). I live in us west and he lives in Europe. We used to play every day but since the ping change it’s only empty lobbies
the ping change is not great by forcing players to high ping lobbies but its also not great for other players to get killed by high ping players
Think optimizing is another thing that needs to be done.

I would imagine most people can achieve 100 ping. the interesting thing is going to be if one teammate in a trio has a family member doing a large download or upload during matchmaking that kicks everyone into a high ping lobby with no way to know if you're in a high ping lobby, which is probably going to increase the occurrence of people claiming trades or weird hitreg is reoccurring.
This was similar to my experience tonight in regular bounty hunt. Average team MMR was 2 star and I was playing against 6 star players

The harshes it can be is 100ms, but that also requires a huge playerbase with servers for more regions across the world.
How consistent is this? After my own experience and seeing multiple similar complaints I was led to believe that post nerf, shotguns couldn't 1 shot through walls. Does this require a headshot or does this only need a bodyshot? I had made my conclusion after several games of 2-3 shotting at 2-6 meters with specter being nonlethal. But perhaps I am only hitting legshots or similar. Oddly too, even in times where I have had all the time I could ever need to aim, I can't seem to even do enough damage for a follow up with my rifle to kill. I guess I should do a more thorough look at it in the shooting range.
This is entirely bodyshot, and I was able to get it pretty much 100% consistently within this range on the dummies in the range. Maybe a meter or so less with the slate. Obviously the number of pellets you hit matters, and on actual hunters, the orientation of your enemy may reduce the number of pellets that land, but that'll only vary results by a bit.
Ping limits are completely reasonable, I live US East and I have a friend in Australia I play with in US West server region that rarely gets above 80 ping so if he can achieve it other people who want to play on different server regions surely can
there is no way he gets 80 ping, I do the same and my friend gets about 160. Have you even played since they did the stealth update?
We played last night and yes he usually does occasionally he’ll have a bad night but that’ll be his internet having an issue most the time

The random modifers need not be so strong. 3 star lobbies with 5 star groups containing 2x6 and one 5 star? No. No need for this. They have VOIP now, they'renot at the disadvantage that they used to be.
Half the lobbies today have 1 team 1.5-2 stars higher than the match and they're just wiping the lobbies. Fun for them, not for the new player's I'm trying to introduce the game to.
rework the free hunter system back to how it worked before or make tweaks to the clash econ and ecosystem, its ridiculous i have to play out 5 matches of hard fights just to get the same reward as two bounty hunts when the hunts are half as difficult. fucking stupid.

Lot of complaints that are recurring in feedback or bug report have been addressed at least at some extent. Take that as you will.
Just because there's a lot of well rated feedback doesn't mean it will be implemented in the game. It can also be used to tweak existing mechanics based on said feedback, for example what happened with the revive bolt : it will get nerfed according some feedback (with the exception of the "just remove it" since I think it would put them in legal issues).

Well, there's a huge difference between $ balance and trait point balance. The first one won't affect people who don't care about money or those who have too much. The second, however, will have you think more about the actual value of levering over different traits : you may want to take it, or perhaps packmule/iron eye will both be more interesting for you.
Traits costing more makes them rarer, in a more apparent way than weapons costing more.
i have not said anything about weapon price, levering price could be lower for all i care but the accuracy buff was too much and should be reverted because it allows players who cant aim to just default to unga bunga playstyle which should never work or if it does it should be well planned surprise but levering is far from it. especially with centennial the levering is too easy to shoot accurate with
Well you talked about actual balance, and trait point is a way for balance. But even if it's that accurate, it's still not a guarantee to win. It can as well screw you up. If anything, a very slight recoil, spread and speed would be nice, but not too much.
previous accuracy was just fine, not this one. about 1 out of 7 times levering fails the player using it and other times it works out because they dont need to do anything but to just spam and if they hit even single bullet, the aim punch makes it almost impossible to get your shots before they get their 2nd. especially centennial is stupid with accurate levering

Running the Martini with High Velocity ammo makes the Martini more expensive than the Sparks, but according to the weapons stats, the base Sparks still has a higher muzzle velocity, better range, better damage and more ammo in reserve. Please give the Martini some love.
And the martini cycles about 30% faster. they aren't the same gun, and they shouldn't be the same.
Do you run high velocity with it?
no, probably fmj the most, then normal. if it's not on the ironside, I'll sometimes split incend/normal
high velo is just kinda whatever
the martini's advantage over the sparks is that it's significantly better up close
doubly so for the ironside
sparks cycle is 4.9s, martini is 3.5, and ironside is a 1.8
I guess that's my point, I would add high velocity if I wanted a faster bullet and more range, but I get that for less with sparks. The faster reload is nice. I just think they should lower the cost of high velocity for the martini. Or buff it to justify the price.
Keep in mind that there's more to deciding which weapon to use than just raw stats, preference and feel of the gun also play a big role

While sparks might have better stats than martini with HV, for scoped options it's locked to a sniper variant
While martini supports both deadeye and marksman as well
Even with the base variant some people might prefer the irons of martini over the sparks
can also just take half HV for a slightly better option at range to keep the upsides at close range and slightly mitigate the downsides at further range
Fire ammo up close is fun. I have been trying to make martini fire ammo work in various ways with pain sense. Then try to wallbang them with sparks pistol fmj.
I first tried to make it work with martini fmj with frag arrows, but it's a bit iffy and i am bit unsure how fmj works with penetration. does it increase penetration damage or does it help to penetrate layers.
Seems pretty impractical, but fun combo if i can make it work.

Well until they get with the times Im tossing in the towel and recommending everyone else and whoever I come across to do the same. Still no cross-play invites. This game will fail. Its just been a slow burning process. Check the numbers. Every successful gaming franchise has cross play invites and able to lobby up. Dragging feet still not uniting players. So I will do it for them and turn them away. Its been a fun run since 2018!
how many of the cheaters you have seen are actually confirmed of cheating? just getting wallbanged or getting headshotted multiple times is not confirmation of cheating
Star rating doesn't really matter either way for this, some people claim that high MMR is "infested" with cheaters, some claim that they are in the lower MMR brackets due to new accounts. I have plenty of experience in high MMR myself with over 7k hours in the game and I also see and hear about the experience in lower MMR lobbies from some of my friends. Neither seems to be anywhere near to being "infested" with cheaters
They do exist as in any other game, but people who claim to meet them every other match need to start looking into other solutions to their supposed problems

Often times I simply disconnect and have to restart my Xbox and even if it allows me back into my game the rubber banding is so bad that it simply is not worth finishing the match

@stray condor #game-ideas message what do you mean? the weapon is at a certain point relative to the crosshair. If you're aiming at a certain spot with a certain weapon, it the gun will cover the same spot. By raising your crosshair, you raise your gun, that's by design.

Krag should just go back to 124 dmg. It wasn't smart to buff the dmg, but players were crying about it.
124 will make it go back to the garbage can, it just needs to have lower ammo count so it's not superior than every other rifle, or give more ammo to other guns.
It was never in the garbage can, it was a perfectly viable long ammo rifle. for the longest time, it just struggled with ammo because it was a faster firing rifle with less rounds than a mosin, which is why i always saw it alongside a sparks pistol
if they had just buffed the ammo count and left it at 124, I think it would've been more than enough of a buff
maybe used to a lowered and now I am trying out the centered and it feels weird even compared to other fps games
The only purpose of 126 dmg is to kill downed hunters. Otherwise 124 dmg will already put you in a very dangerous situation (a grunt can kill you), it's like thinking you're fine because the guy uses a winfield (which will still put yor health back to your last bar).
Being at 1 hp and 0 hp are completely different, also people play different when they know a body shot can kill you. Also, krag was hardly used after its release wirh 124 damage, now it's meta

- Has access to FMJ.
- Has 97 damage, which means it can 2 tap people if you hit belly+belly or chest+arm. Nagant's 91 damage is not enough to do that.
- Is able to reload faster if the cylinder is empty. Also, a Swift variant.
Also, New Army has more manageable recoil, but that's just my opinion. However, it has a fairly strong downside: it has a long draw time, when swapping from other things. It seems like a bug and I hope, it's gonna be fixed someday.
Overall, I think this gun is well balanced and won't be buffed.

i am a huge new army fan, but when it comes to overall performance the officer just performs significantly better because of its velocity
its not always about the damage, like officer (not the carbine) is a head clicker and amazing weapon for delivering long distance to medium distance follow up shots, while the new army lacks that ability due to lower velocity
and you need to take drop damage into consideration as well, from certain distances you cant even triple tap to chest
You'll most likely won't shoot at such distances anyway. And if you do, FMJ help you with that.

honestly I think there should be a pretty wide overhaul to equip/holster times cause they currently seem pretty arbitrary. I think they're mostly determined by when a gun was added, not by its actual characteristics

FMJ never had any other downside than Muzzle Velocity.
People were just long ammo brain rotted enough to sleep on FMJ for the longest time as they deemed the loss of muzzle velocity too great.
That and ofc the fact we had NO information that FMJ made compact bullet pen better than long ammo, people just kinda assumed it it was "compact ammo, now pen like medium ammo" or similar strenght, not "your bullets are now hot knives in a world of butter" lol.

Guns are tools are interchangeable and don’t make a difference. You can maximize guns and tools for your loadout while traits are having to be sacrificed to pick up newly added ones that are also preferred. It would be nice to enjoy more of the new traits while still having the must needed traits otherwise never get picked up. It could be % based by how many traits there are. You could pick more % of traits available in the past then you can now and there needs a little more balance.
Guns are not interchangeable. If you want to carry in a full shotgun, you’re giving up your long range. Sure, you can take quartermaster to help compensate with a shorty, but you’re sacrificing sway, recoil, and a trait slot.
Tools are not interchangeable. In addition to your health pack and a melee weapon, if you want to take in flares and bear traps, you have to give up chokes and concertina traps.
You dont get to heal and have a blunt melee weapon and get to burn people and get to choke fires and get to set lethals. You have to pick the abilities you want.
For your traits, you have to pick the ones that matter most. If you want all the scare super power traits, you have to give up some of your base kit. Or if you want your base kit, you can’t take on the scarce traits. More perks is meant to increase load out diversity and viability. Not give everyone the ability to do everything

They are interchangeable and don't make much of a difference if you want to maximize your loadout for a certain playstyle. There is no point in carrying more than two guns. Traps can be swapped with traps, fuses can be swapped with flare pistols, and melee can be swapped with other melees. 5 slots will not give everyone the ability to do everything. It is progress to be able to play some more of the new traits but not every trait.
If you’re going to make that argument, then greyhound can be traded for determination. Doctor can be traded for physician. Ghoul can be traded for witness.
The issue with that argument is that there is a difference. If you want to set people to bleed, you can’t do that on a sparks. If you want to snipe people using a scope, you can’t do it with a drilling. If you want to use incendiary, you can’t pen. Want to one-shot at close range? Vetterli’s not gonna do it. More guns means more bullets, more bullet types, different velocities, and more abilities for your combat in game.
Traps can be swapped with other traps, but those other traps have different uses. Want to trap standard doors? Gonna have to choose bear traps over alerts. Want to trap barrels? Poison traps aren’t gonna cut it.
Every item you choose in your loadout comes at the cost of others, and perks are no exception. More options to choose from doesn’t mean you should get to choose more of them
To be fair Doctor + Physician are a married couple and so are greyhound and determination. They go hand in hand with each other and boost the hunter even more. The weapons and all tools are used for your 'playstyle' and can be interchanged. Sacrificing must have traits to pick newer traits is lame and should be open to more availability.
I understand the hunter will be more powerful with more traits but in the end the more traits that come out will mean more sacrificing of traits to play those.
The first half of your comment is exactly my point. Doctor and physician are related, but have different functions. You can absolutely get by with just one over the other, but both combined makes a strong combination.
That’s exactly the point of having limited trait slots instead of just letting you buy whatever you have points for. If a new trait comes out that you think is more important than an existing one, you have to sacrifice the existing one to use it. If you think the ones you’re already using are too important to give up, then don’t use the new ones. The moment there were more perks than perk slots, you began the game of sacrificing traits to play others. Adding more slots doesn’t remove that game. It just makes everyone more powerful and makes it even harder for a lvl1 hunter to compete with a lvl50
Though you would want both for it to be most effective. If you are okay with not playing newer traits and having to stick with old better traits then that's you, not me.
You’ve deviated from arguing about valid reasons regarding whether or not to include more perk slots. You’re now targeting my specific play-style instead of how the game works and why.
You have limited trait slots for a reason. Increasing them does nothing but make super hunters even more super. You don’t get to have everything. You have to prioritize.
I didn't deviate from anything. Not playing the newer traits and having to stick to boring old meta traits is boring to me. The more traits added to the game means you wont be able to have every trait. Thus, adding new slots will sure make hunters more powerful but not be able to access every niche, just more fun.
If you don’t want to stick to whatever you feel is the meta, then don’t. Play that traits that interest you. Just know that you have to give up others to do it. You can’t just do what you’ve been doing and now get to do more just because.
Honestly, I dont even know how you’re at 15+ perks that you feel are absolutely vital. There are 2 perks I consider essential. Another 4 that I get as soon as able. And 2 that I get because of how my team is set up. From there, the rest depend on what weapons I’m using and how I’m feeling that day. Sure everything helps, but very few are necessary
I don't know what meta you are playing if you do not have enough trait slots to also use event specific traits or such
I am able to get pretty much everything I need and even then generally able to leave a slot free for any burn traits I might find in a match
Even moreso if my loadout isn't trait specific which gives even more room for other traits
Tbf, there’s a lot of medium slot options so you can already run a lot of the loadouts with a medium slot variant
But it is an upgrade to those loadouts/things like double explosive crossbow which wasn’t possible before will appear
#feedback message @dusky goblet there’s a reason console and PC players are separated in matchmaking. Keyboard and mouse can move anywhere and use any function instantly while joysticks and the handful of buttons on a controller are limited.
Now, if they allowed keyboard+mouse on console and allowed cross play between console and PC and instead separated the players by input type, that’s something I could get behind.

I’m not upset about the change to silenced weapons. While time will tell if 10% is the right number or if it needs to be tuned up or down, I think it’s a worthwhile change to try out, since picking the silenced variant over the standard is often a no-brainer right now.
I do agree that some obscure guns are going to suffer some from this (looking at the bornheim, who already can’t reliably 3-shot), but they’re hardly used as is, so I dont expect it to impact the current state of the game as far as those ones are concerned.
I’d rather they rework guns like the bornheim to become more viable because this nerf to the silenced Maynard and Krag, and even the Sparks and Vetterli seems good.
Also, I think the recent changes they’ve announced are strong evidence that they are listening to the community, as they said they would. Every single change they’re making is addressing a primary paint point expressed by the community. To imply that they’re not listening is unfair
Strong point, but i think the numbers should definitely have tweaks on a per-weapon basis. While I do agree that its pretty much a direct upgrade for some weapons (looking at you krag) since the felt mv drop is nearly negligible, the mv changes to the compact and medium variants, as well as the damage falloff ranges feel like they're enough as-is since they already have lower mv than the longammo/maynard weapons at the base level. I do feel like they're listening more overall but they're also rebalancing things that people weren't asking to be rebalanced along that same vein. That's where my point came about not listening. They need to pay attention to what isn't being said too. In regards to crossfire, look to the nagant pistols. They have been getting nerfed over and over again by changes, without any complaints about them to really justify it--- bullet drop, duallie changes, and now suppressor changes to boot.

I think there’s 2 sides to this. On one hand, the most ideally balanced game possible would have every single weapon have every single stat individually tweaked to make it unique and viable. It perfectly balances the game, but it’s a nightmare for devs to handle and it’s difficult for players to learn how every variant of every gun functions relative to the rest.
On the other hand, they can make sweeping changes that affect entire variants. Similar to all melee variants being $10 more than their base countpart now. Different guns have their use cases impacted differently and it disrupt true balance, but it’s easy for devs to manage, easy for players to learn, and means all guns of a type are affected consistently by the same change.
For example, I don’t know if all deadeyes have the same zoom, but it would make sense if they did. Sure, the zoom could be tweaked to individual perfection for every different gun with a deadeye, but it makes deadeye variants inconsistent
Neither is necessarily right, and the priority is going to be different depending on who you ask.
Regarding what is or isn’t being said, that’s an impossible task given that the community is a large group of diverse opinions. Look at ping-based matchmaking. The community was begging for it constantly. No one raised any opposition. So the devs started experimenting with it, and suddenly a different side of the community all came out constantly requesting that they stop it.
For bear traps, no one asked for them as a tool or to deal 82 damage. But they made the change, and suddenly bear traps were a hit. Everyone loved them. Then a previously unspoken set of the community came out in opposition. Now the devs are reverting the damage, and there’s opposition to that too.
Just because a change isn’t directly asked for, doesn’t mean the devs don’t have the freedom to try it out anyway. The community should guide the game, but it’s impossible for the community to control it.
I still think that the nerf for the silenced guns with the MUST HAVE subsonic ammunition was a very heavy nerf already. Now they get the full nerf to the ground treatment.
Imagine playing a silenced gun just to be still heard 100m away. Anyone tested this how far the sound goes?
Now you’re forced to take subsonic ammunition if you want to play a silenced gun and can’t take a special ammunition with you because of that. Now you either can be still heard 100m away without subsonic or you can’t pick another type of ammunition and additionally to that the damage gets nerfed.
To be fair, I didn’t look into it yet. Is the silenced gun nerfed 10% or the subsonic ammunition?
And here we have the bow still being OP af at close AND mid range, silent, utility if you choose another arrow type, bleeding, pve very good, one shot kills and it’s not being touched?
The bow requires more skill to use, because it's much more subject to gravity and limb shots are much less deadly. As for silencers, they take a 10% dmg nerf, regardless of the ammo.
Also the bow isn't completely silent, you can hear when people start charging.
eh, the audible range is pretty damn short. and it still oneshots out to like, 30 something meters

Crack shot is imbalanced by itself. Personally, I hope it never returns, but if it does, I would be alright with it being only for pistols.

I had a similar idea of that but i think that instead of burn out it should be a new trait type(my idea was Devour Trait) basically your idea just new type of traits. I think that maybe in the future if they add more types of traits that you could only bring a "X" amount per that trait type to a hunter. With that i think meta will shift
I think there's room for more traits that temporarily "burn" but also have recharge mechanics. quite frankly, I think rampage/remedy/relentless shouldn't be in the game at all, and the scarce mechanic is bad to begin with.
Necro could absolutely somehow recover, but I'd be hesitant to make that too easy. It'd have to just be an extract and MAYBE a banish.
Why does the the chat button even exist in the lobby if i cant view the salty messages after the game?

You have to be in a party to view the chat box, which hopefully they'll add the ability to see it even if you're solo in a lobby
But also right now there is a big in which the number for unread notifications just goes up by 2 each match you do even if no one actually typed
Silent nagant has also recieved a price nerf. More nerfs than the meta mosin ever had. 😔
Blademancer would make throwing stuff more viable for many. Being able to retrieve throwing stuff is huge. After the nerf it wasn't very strong in pvp either.
imo blademancer would be good if it only worked on throwables.

Throwables are already more viable than ever. Blademancer just make retrieving lost stuff WAY too easy. It doesn't even matter if the range is 100m or 20m. It's just too much of an ability. And it also makes Blade Seer completely useless.

Bladeseer has so little effect that i don't want to take it. Blademancer is similar trait with more usage. I feel like in a full hunter. Blade seer is just an empty slot doing barely nothing. You can blame it in on power creep, but considering what other traits have to offer. I feel like using throwables when they can go out of bounds and become unretriavable. And having only effect of "you can find your throwables" is too low to warrant picking it.
With blademancer it atleast has added comfort and pve potential. Bladeseer can be merged with blade mancer as much as i am concerned .
blade seer could be wrapped into vigilant or witness or something too
I used to take this when I was using throwables for the first time and was constantly losing my axes. Now, yeah, it's not very useful, but still nice qol trait.
Blademancer goes way beyond qol, it's basically cheating.

I believe I have placed a well reasoned argument against the current insta-burn meta.
Additional points not able to fit in oringinal post:
- They are addressing the revive bolt fiasco already and Necro has been nerfed into near uselessness so sneaky revives are less prominent.
- The burn time is so fast that even if you do not break from the engagement a teammate is burned out and gone before you can win a fight. Choke bombs have been nerfed so hard that they are basically pointless.
- I do believe that lighting living hunters on fire should still be a thing and reduce a hunters bars that way, because that is interactive and the hunter hit can respond/react, but when you are dead, you can do nothing but spectate.
- I only suggest rolling back the burn state to what we had two years ago, not that that is the only way forwards.

I don't agree that choke bombs are 'basically pointless,' they're still a major annoyance when used properly outside of extinguishing bodies.
I think burning is necessary to punish players that are too passive, but I do take issue with how quickly players lose bars when their body is lit on fire, and how little time the teammates have to act. I wish burning was somehow back-loaded so that it took significantly longer to burn off the first bar without dramatically increasing the total burnout time. Maybe like, burn speed starts off really slow and ramps up over time, or there's like a buffer period before they actually start losing health? Also yeah flare gun is busted and should be nerfed somehow
although yeah you mentioned choke beetles and they really got neutered by the changes. I was running a choke beetle almost every match before the burn speed increase and it's been permanently dropped from my loadouts. bring back 2 minute choke cloud from beetle specifically so i can at least use it offensively

Hex Breaker is Solomon Kane inspired, but Kane is basically in the same archetype as Jonah Hex and Van Helsing, especially later adaptations of Helsing like the Hugh Jackman film.

I suggest a lot of stuff - some get good feedback and others tank. That's pretty normal. Some of my suggestions or ideas I helped promote have been implemented - including changes to old Necro Self-Revive & Revive bolts getting nerfed.
My recent suggestions would actually strengthen Solo play marginally by letting the player take both bounties and deny enemy teams from getting the second half of the bounty, if the Solo chose to take Packmule. Sure it is 3pts more but you get more tools refreshed too - which is better IMO than a short 3 shot boon effect of Magpie, which you could still take separately to a stronger effect. In my opinion the change would add depth in the ability to decide to cut-n-run with Serpent or gain more Darksight & deny the opposition the benefit of the Bounty's Darksight in tracking you.

Wrong channel for this but yes they are still in the game and their frequency is rather high. I think most of the Community is hoping for the return of the other atmospheric mutators like Rain, Ashbloom, & Inferno. However, an increased chance of Fog (and/or certain Times of Day) isn't probably a popular opinion because their lighting volumetrics are actually quite glitchy and positioning biased leading some players to hate them.

Yeah busted scopes was a nice attention to detail after being downed but a crummy gameplay disadvantage for anyone using scopes let alone contraband.

So you get the same a duo would separetly

It doesn't negatively impact the solo... The rewards stay the same as they currently are or marginally better.
Currently you can only carry out 1/2 of any given bounty. My suggestion is that you could carry out all of it but without gaining much more than usual, in order to prevent an opponent from taking the bounty and being able to scan where you are.
That removes counterplay though

So to play as a solo you basically would need 8 points as a base
It is a 3pt change but far from mandatory. Solo didn't have double DS before and 5 seconds is adequate especially with new ways to attain more seconds. If the maximum DS capacity wasn't dependent on a trait, rather just on being solo, that'd be best (IMO).
Speaking of which this new Recruitment - only 10 trait points & no lotto selection of traits thing is harsh for Prestige players.

I don't want to ping you; but to the remark about removing counterplay - well it doesn't entirely. Now with Witness & other abilities to get Enhanced Dark Sight enemies have a likelihood too to be entering a boss compound with EDS seconds before even claiming a bounty. The idea for letting Packmule users take two of the same bounty tokens - would mean less certainty all around. Is it a solo carrying both tokens or a duo/trio with one person carrying both?
I think the largest downside to my suggestion(s) is the potential anti-team player who doesn't communicate or care what his teammates are doing & takes both tokens of a Bounty and runs off regardless of his/her teammates status to just try and extract alone.

You can test it.. In shooting range go to the top of the fort, and shoot at the guy near the bridge SE. Three taps.. With fmj.. Two. 😉
FMJ does extend its two tap range as that is just what FMJ does
And ofcourse regular medium doesn't pen through arms like long ammo. So u can end up three tapping at even closer ranges, as it covers the chest if they aim directly at you.. or all overbody when ruinning directional. Point being.. Treating the cent in speed and firerate as a long ammo rifle is odd. It does not have that edge.

I have come across more and more people that seem to think Hunt: Showdown has no limb penetration even tho this has been added to the game since 1.0 release in 2019.
Arrows from crossbows don't penetrate arms but shotbolts penetrate arms and entire hunters like nitro does.

@warm crater Terrible idea with this game in it's current state for many reasons:
- There isn't anything of value to do in the game besides go after the bounty. Making that even harder and more punishing is ridiculous.
- The boss spawns in a corner compound more often times than not with a team right on it and usually with an extract near by. Single bounty matches would be even worse because of that. And with the screwed up spawns, that would mean 3 other teams playing a running simulator to catch the bounty team before leaving. Which happens way too often already.
- There needs to be more to do in the game not less. Secondary objectives, collectibles found in the map, possibly mini quests (similiar to Tarkov), etc are things that need to be added in order to engage players more. And by forcing each team or solo to have a bounty in order to extract would absolutely ruin this already dying game.

Why would it be harder? It’s just more motivation to do what you're already supposed to do. How punishing it really is depends on the economy, right? All this "punishment" is just an illusion to make the game more adrenaline-filled, and nothing more.

I partially agree - this might be a problem. But for me and my friends, we always go for the boss. Sometimes we end up playing a "running simulator", running through the entire map, getting to the boss first, and then... nobody actually comes. Or someone comes, sits 100 meters away, and we just leave without anyone trying to stop us.

My personal opinion is that the game is dying because it can’t fully utilize its esports and PvP potential. I think Hunt will always be a bad "grindy game". What Hunt is good at is being a PvP shooter. And if this "PvP shooter" part dies, there are hundreds of other games for grinding, and they do it much, much better than Hunt. People will just go to those games. And the players who enjoy the "PvP shooter" aspect will also find something else to play.
Adding too many secondary objectives could dilute Hunt's identity as a tense, PvP-focused game. If players ignore the bounty in favor of side objectives, it could lead to even more passive gameplay. So, my personal opinion that at least testing something like that during event would be a good idea.
Also, about secondary activities for people who like them: why not do them after taking the bounty on a cleared map? So, seems like necessary bounty and secondary activities can actually live together, am I wrong?

@broken moat just a quick clearing up, the bullet "flying over your head", stems from two reasons:
- Inherent differences of player to player positioning and their relation with the latency, which is something you can't really do much about.
- The player cam is placed in the chest, so bullets that might seem to fly "above" you are actually connecting to the head.
This game would benefit from removing explosive crossbows, explosive chukonus, frag arrows. Its just too much spam - or significantly reduce the ammo pool size. Especially in game modes like clash.
Let's not start balancing the game on a mode that's not representative of the game. There are other games people can play if they like team deathmatches.
Please make it an option to show gun name instead of skin name or make it show both

if memory serves me it was originally Tuesdays with steam reset, then an event got extended 2 days due to server issues and that changed it to Thursdays, then i believe it changed again with the start and or end of the circus, it was on Monday for at least 2 weeks and now its scheduled for a wed. reset all i am saying is if its called weekly challenges they should always restart or reset on the same day not change every few weeks. those of us that play often look forward to the challenges since they are not daily.
I may be remembering incorrectly it may just be during events that they consistently are Wednesdays and that’s because events typically start Wednesdays
@edgy trout you do get assists for tagging people before your teammates kill them. What do you mean by partially killing them?
I would say whoever contributed the most damage to the target gets the kill and anyone else who contributed gets assists points, or just make assists count as kills like in some other games. Just a thought
assists count as kills for the kda number on your profile, if that's what bothers you? or do you just mean in the last match screen
Sorry I wasn't aware of assists counting towards anything as the score screen didn't tell you. Is it just more XP added on?
Kill xp is awarded to everyone on the team i believe, regardless of assists. I'm not sure exactly what you want out of assists.
I think it's fine as-is, where only the final blow counts as a kill, and assists are (mostly) meaningless outside of the stat.
kills being "stolen" really only affects weapon xp gain, as far as im aware. I think it'd be kinda ridiculous if kills were granted to whoever did the most damage, since 90% of kills would go to whoever lands the first hit instead of the second, which is the actual killing blow.

No worries! The KDA that is displayed includes assists that you get from helping to kill enemies. The initial end game screen doesn’t show your assists but if you go to mission statistics I believe it does show your assist

Silenced versions of weapons are great...
...while silencer is attached to weapons that don't have high firerate with medium+ damage or high damage with dumdums.
Sparks silencer is fair because it has very low firerate despite high damage.
Borheim silencer is fair because it has very low damage, drop range and ammo capacity, despite having high firerate.
Manyard silencer (before 2.3 patch) is quite unfair due to having scope, high damage, dumdum that allows to secure kill from first shot in most scenarios.
Krag is unfair due to high damage and high firerate, leaving the reaction window way to short for enemy to do anything, honestly.
I like silenced weapons such as the Winny and Vetterli. But I do agree the Krag is way out of the acceptable power levels of a silenced gun. Wish they had target nerfed instead of blanket nerfed, giving me Destiny 2 vibes on the balancing, nerf everything instead of fixing the actual outlier. Hopefully they change course going forward.
West is not loaded with hackers. US East is way worse. Ever since I switched to West I have had no problems with hackers

At some point, you just gotta realize that there's not much point in the romero when the bomblance does the job, if not better

Romero and bomb lance now reload just as quickly
They got access to essentially the same ammo types, outside of bomb lance having frag (better than any of romero ammo types)
Bomb lance melee does more and has less windup on the swing
Not to mention more range.
Both 3 slots
only one costs marginally more
Doesn't help that the romero got hit with an ammo cap nerf a few patches ago and of course is louder than said lance

I've yet to understand what's the problem with bullet drop for pistols.
Is it an issue that a handgun meant for close quarter fights in last resort sucks at bigger distance ?
I would say it is a compounded issue.
Basically the mix of low drop ranges + the hyper buffs to 2-slots means that there is literally no reason to run pistols.
1-slots pistols gets outranged by 2-slot rifles and outgunned by 2-slot shotguns.
Well it didn't need bullet drop for that.
Handguns are more an ammo reserve for your main weapon, or a back up in dire situations. But they have always been worse than whatever QM could bring.
As I said, it is compounded issue, bullet drop meant that pistols lost their "at least I can tap their head" factor somewhat, yes that ain't what "ruined" the 1-slot class.
But the 2-slot buffs for sure put a nail in the coffin for pistols.
Old 2-slots rifles had enough sway to dissuade people for running QM, like they were good if you could master the sway, but now it is so much better than a pistol, so to put an example:
Conversion vs. Vandal:
Damage: 104 - 107
Drop Range: 75 - 120
Cycle Speed: 1.4 - 1.2
Spread: 30 - 25
Sway: 128 - 100
Vertical recoil: 4.5 - 8
Muzzle Velocity: 300 - 370
Price: 55 - 35
As you can see, Vandal just mostly do everything better than a Conversion AND for cheaper! And also, Vandal gets the benefit of rifle damage drop off vs. the conversion's pistol damage drop off.
So yeah, we can argue "well, pistols are meant for up and close!" it ain't gonna compete with a Vandal with that, but that is my next issue, the kill range of 2-slot shotguns are now consistent enough that you are losing a lot of match ups with pistols in CQC.
remove quartermaster and the problem is solved, in taking a 2-slot over a oneslot, you downgrade your 3-slot into a 2-slot as well, making up that difference
I would rather revert the 2-slot changes (maybe give 2-slot shotguns a little love, but not this strong) and then make it a trait, so that if you wield two 2-slots, you get the current 2-slot stats.
It's all good and interesting, but that's another issue, QM being too strong there, which I agree with. But it's out of topic when talking about pistols being too affected by bullet drop. You would use them in buildings where it doesn't matter much, not through compounds anyway.
QM being more expensive (akin to Doctor) would already make it less interesting imo.
Levering took a usage hit when it got bumped to 7 points.
QM just needs a real downside. -10% run speed. or like, tripled weapon holster/equip times
Well, QM is strong because 2-slots are currently strong.
QM was fine up until the 2.0 patch.
People ran it, but it was more as an "treat" or to fit a bow (or even the Katana lol) into a build.
Basically old 2-slots had enough downsides that they weren't a universal "strictly better" pick.

Naw, old 2-slot shotguns weren't that great, you basically were mandate to run slugs (or flechette if you were cheap) on them.
I don't think 2-slots were ever really just better than oneslots, a lot of people chose pistols willingly. Outside of precision variants on a few pistols, I think a lot of people would've chosen a pistol over any of the 2-slot weapons

@crystal plume love your regen suggestion, tho think it could be even lower, small regen heals 225 and big heals for 450.
That is equal to 1½ big vitality shots for small and 3 big vitality shots for big ones, which is still insane value.
I would even say we could extend the duration of regenshot then, making them last 10 and 20 min each.

Yeah, it just has less muzzle velo if you aren't trying to shoot as fast as you can to get guys out of position
if you are only peeking every few seconds, the cycle time doesn't matter as much imo
And infrantry sniper, either needs to have 400m/s or gets lower damage than the LeMat Carbine to get 525m/s.
All and all, bullet drop only really killed pistols overall, but for the rifle meta, I think it is quite good.

So compact actually get some spot, tho issue is that medium like Cenny gets 600m/s and 140m drop which is plenty.

at higher skill levels ie 4-5 its defo 80-100m

It is one of those cases where stats can reach a threshold of diminishing return, sure "0 sway is better than some sway", but when you hit the 100 sway as the 2-slot rifles does, it doesn't really matter if you have 100 or 87 sway.

Remove it or make it worth 2500 hunt dollars. Its boring to see almost everyone use this gun. All the other silenced guns in this game are atleast somewhat balanced - this one is not. When you balance silenced weapons, youre doing a bad job for the other silencer guns and this 10% damage decrease is still useless. Atleast for the sparks silencer, you need to have the fast fingers trait and still it may/maynot be faster than 1.4s cycle time. This gun right off the bat is way more powerful than other silencer guns. Like i said, nobody asked for it so remove it or nerf it already so we can see people use other guns.

#feedback message @atomic wren The issue with this is that longer times between events are something that a lot of players have been asking for for a while. The game used to have fewer, shorter events which made it them special when they happened.
But then they ramped up events, making them ~2+ months long and we’d have a week or 2 of down time in between, which meant that base hunt was practically nonexistent. It also meant we were getting so much new content all the time that messed with balance and created bugs. They’re slowing down the events and focusing on gameplay improvements because of how much the community has been complaining about those issues.
A lot of event content usually does make it into the game eventually. Especially event traits. And we do get temporary challenges every week.
I’d be down for some minor “events” to have a small chance of occurring in matches, but personally, I wouldn’t want much more than that. Like having the circus show up once in a while would be nice, or having a chance of inferno weather, or things like that would be cool. But otherwise, I feel like people need to get used to playing Hunt for what Hunt is again, instead of being fixed on always wanting new content like Fortnite

The issue there is is that events are overall the only thing adding meaningful content, even if it means showing variants in. I don't remember the last time we got a big update that was just balance and weapons.

Basically, events bloat have created the issue that while people returns to events, the fact there were little breaks between them meant that the inbetween events were more empty because that was the only time people could get a "break" from Hunt.
More so, it seems like that events might bring in players to play, but also hurt the overall player retention.
That is as you've pointed out due to a more imbalanced and buggy experience + that people will reach the conclusion "I don't wanna play the next event that gonna have 1-2 utterly broken/bugged shit I will have to deal with for the next 2 months".
At least MC illustrated that they can now try and fix things mid event. Let's hope they'll stick to this.

I play plenty of games than only have 1-2 actual content updates per year. Heck, even Minecraft only puts out 1 update per year, and look how successful it is. If Minecraft was adding new biomes and blocks every 2 months, it would be a nightmare!

I honestly don't know what's your point. Are you having an issue for the weapon to be showcased being on the left, unlike a game like Quake where the weapon is centered..?
If you look at some guns when you have it at the ready, the gun is more aimed towards the center of the screen/reticle.
If you look at something like the silenced bornheim, it is pointing to the left of the screen, as if to show off the side of the gun.
It feels really weird. Id show a picture if I could.
That's a bit much clearer, although I doubt it's actually the case (or if anything as severe as you make it sound), it just happens that silenced weapons are longer.
Honestly the game is empty and the pve content is weak it gets boring, with clowns was fun and with balloons, I wanted to burst them all the time. you need the same thing on a regular period between events to not get bored, those who whine about the broken balance still play and all people will not please. There are old players who still miss the hardcore mechanics. But if you look at the statistics, not many people want to play regular hunting, people come to the event for a couple months and leave because there is nothing else to keep them.

Each client having their own unique interpretation is normal in a distributed network of a real-time situation - but the longer the distance, the more stark the differences ... until the illusion collapses that players are occupying the same world.
Your team mates won't notice it. But you will shoot a guy who's standing still, has been standing still, on your screen when he has moved already on their end - and if he moved into cover or ran around a corner by that point, - and he will feel cheated if you still kill him (without a wallbang)
