The main reason for all the movement dodging is because you have full movement control in midair
Yeh, I like the movement control in the air allot, don't get me rong. But the movement dodging while on foot is just to much. Like some people using it from time to time wich is fair and not that bad. but you just have these people who made it their speciality to like abuse the shit out of it, and it is just so bad. It litterly makes me wanna stop playing the game. I feel like it just doesnt belong in this game with this gamestyle
There is nothing wrong with weeving left and right instead of one line. its just that crouch jumping circle turning jerking off
Crouching or jumping multiple times in quick succession already applies a very hefty movement penalty
I also think they have completely done it wrong. instead of punishing crouching and jumping they just completely kill you foward momentum speed. Why not just kill the jump/crouch itself.
Jumps also lose a lot of their height iirc

Your feedback is mostly accurate otherwise as you don't need to manually cycle the bolt , it should still lock open on last shot AFAIK
The auto-5 has been the same gun since 1898 afaik
The only different variants I can find are the Remington Model 11 and the Savage Model 720, which both are the exact same gun but without a mag cutoff
the video i posted is of an auto-5 produced in 1968, which still uses the 1898 design and not the 2013 "FN-Browning A5" successor
if there's been a modification to the gun, it didn't bring a new model number
Hm, interesting. Apparently it's the Remington Model 11 that won't allow for speedloads. You have to drop one from the side, manually close the bolt and then only can you load the 4 other ones.
Nevertheless, it should lock open and it should load all five in one go, not four, cycle, and then one.

Rain is good. Fog is bad.
Rain is at least dynamic. Fog only makes any scope useless. Sound is the most common form of enemy detection and fog doesn't do anything for that, so the only thing fog does is punish you for bringing any kind of scope. Now, if it dampened sound, then it might be worth a damn.

Hunt is hard but fun when fights are balanced,
Hunt is just frustrating when you go against people who will insta headshot you or wallbang the slightest noise, and you have no chance to learn from it
But of course, those who like punching down are ok with it 🗿
This is what has turned so many people off I've tried to introduce to hunt. Some new account dude running around insta wiping everyone. The learning curve is rough.
I mean, the learning curve is huge but not insurmountable
But god damn there’s a difference between “learning curve” and being a normal person with a kd about 1/3-1/2 of the lobby average and consistently being put against players who play like this has been their job since day 1 with the stats to back it up…

The other is the frustration of having to deal with the top 3% of the game’s population in terms of skill knowing damn well you aren’t there and most likely never will be- it instills hopelessness in a player, and causes apathy towards the game
Mmr of bounty hunter and soul survivor should be separeted or even ss mmr need to be removed since its random matchmaking and not mmr related alongside kda being use in the mmr calculation. Would make overall matchmaking way better
@urban sluice totally agree. Talkrd about it some day ago. Being forced to do events in order to progress when the task force us to change our playstyle to.a pve one and use undesired guns tool and ammo is very dumb and make the game experience. Mediocre for peoples who just want to play hunt

I gave up on this season pass for my part. Last week i worked 72 hour and every single hour free i had i been forced to do chores in order to get my battlepass going and not even been able to play a single game on my pace. That burned me out for a while
Yes yes! I’m working graveyard, with a 3 year old who just about wakes up once I get home. And + my wife, I just can’t make these specific required weekly challenges work for myself. I feel like I wasted money towards a battle pass as it forces me even more to play a style I don’t want to play 😦

Honestly biggest pain is the pre-match voice chat hell of "I need x/y/Z!", "Can someone bring X?!", "how far are you with Z?!".

These challenge are fine for usual gameplay. But battlepass should not be centered around it. It should be like every other battlepass. Genric kill bracket and every action give progression. Right now its designed so ppl who dislike this need to waste at least 15hour of their week doing chores before to be able to start playing
Even outside an event it is an issue as it is they only way to obtain 50bb consistently.
Challenges should revert back to when it just gave HD and items.
Good for people who want to get a little extra and not punishing for doing prestige.

You guys are kinda just crying at this point. I casually played for just the daily xp each day and finished the entire event by myself. It's not that hard to do.
I do agree with the golden regs though. Everything looted should be given and not taken away. Crytek shouldn't be encouraging people to leave mid match just for X reward.

The reason you haven't seen them as much is because they either lowered drop rate or completely removed them from loot crates and they are a pain to unlock each prestige.
if you like the challenges good for you. but some people lauch the game to play hunt showdown and not being a pve slave farming hives with throwing knives and immolator with knuckle. and being forced to do it in order to finish the BP is lame for us. i would rather have a normal battlepass where u progress by playing not by doing weird ass shit that fuckup ur loadout especially while solo.

They are simply easy. And in time comparison the entire event is casually done at the halfway point. It's an event, it's meant to be grinded for rewards.

I have 4k hours and am 100 prestige. You're crying to the wrong person about prestiging making it harder.
Bottom line: it's an event. You grind for rewards. There's nothing wrong with them putting rewards behind challenges.
if theres diversity and someone who play a normal amount of hour can cap it without challenge it would be very fine

altar are not good thing to improve tbh. killing players / every clues / banishing all the core things should be increased. altars are lame way to get point most of time you rather not touch it to not give ur position or use as a alert for other players.

@dusky tapir Coming back to the A5 topic : it looks like you were right. The speed load patent for the browning auto-5 is actually from 1952. The lifter went from one piece to two pieces, but that didn't change the name or model of the gun.
Not actually having the speed load is a shame because it's frankly cool to see; but at the same time it would allow for a greater interaction with the other parts of the gun, especially the manual bolt close button. Would be cool to see it used, and it'd make sense for the slowed down reload animation 🙂
i think increasing event points of outside of challenges is the best idea to be honest. because it encourages fights. even it means getting less points from challenges

i never really encountered cheater tbh. only 1 time with a shady double headshot in 1 sec interval to me and my buddy from 150 with a nagant... and 1 time me and my buddy been disconected for 30sec just when we engaged a streamer and unpaused when dead.

It is literally impossible for a bounty team to extract without a fight if people actually knew how to intercept them :)
it is very much possible when you factor in multiple teams all trying to achieve the same thing and inevitably engaging upon eachother, which creates openings
usually, as the defending team, if I know there's two teams around my compound, i'll shoot at one and the instant they shoot back it's over for the two teams

You don't have to open fire on every Hunter that pops up in the distance.

You're talking nonsense, there are 3 exits, each in a different direction, you can't watch the bounty team down to the second. They can turn around and run in the opposite direction at any time, what then? You won't catch them. I have over 3000 hours, I've seen a lot, I've gone through a lot of changes before the release of version 1.0. When I see someone trying to talk nonsense to me, I feel like ignoring that person 🙂
Okay, then you have spent 3k hours not understanding a core mechanic of the game 🤷♂️
In most cases you can position yourself in a way where no matter which extraction they run to, you can intercept them.
Unless you wander into another team fighting or have REALLY bad luck with water + waterdevils, then the enemy team cannot just run away and extract for free.
Especially not with the 30 second extraction timer.
Well, when playing solo I can position myself in 3 places at the same time, almost like God. You are so smart that I'm ending this discussion, find the arguments and logic and maybe you can start understanding the game, because it's obvious that you don't know the basics 😉
Extractions are not always positioned in 3 different directions.
Some of them will have the same general direction and some will be placed further away.
If you use a little trigonometry and anticipation of movement you can quite often calculate where the bounty is gonna run and where you can place yourself to cover as many routes as possible.
They increased the escape time from 15 seconds to 30 because the problem was huge. This is still not enough. As you can see, the creators themselves see this as a problem, so stop trying 🙂
They changed it to 30 and didn't change it further so I guess only you are having issues now? 🤷♂️

i never had any issues with people running bc positioning and stamina are a thing, ofc its harder as a solo but its nowhere near as a problem as u say it is
if u dont position too far away from the compound to begin with u can easily catch up the 30s they take to extract and at least kill one of them

in 99% of the games u can position in a place where u at least block of 2, most of the time even 3 extracts
even in this 1% of the games when u cant position well enough to cover most of them, u can still just be close enough to the compound that they cant even get a 30s head lead on u if they start run, at least not if u pay attention to the map
u shouldnt expect to always be able to block them from running but 30s is far enough to at least catch up while they extract giving u a chance to at least down one, which blocks their extract
if they are infront of u, u can usually take shorter routes than them by cutting them off if they arent decisive enough to coordinate where they want to go and which is an actual smart way to get there

Couple things to consider
Firstly, Hunt isn't a serious competitive game. This isn't to say balance doesn't matter, but it's sort of baked in that RNG is going to affect how a match plays. Sometimes people will spawn near a boss lair with very lucky extracts, sometimes you're gonna be across the map from then and they'll banish almost immediately putting you on the back foot the whole match.
What we should take away from this is that sometimes you wont really have any good options, but that's the nature of the game.
These situations are a minority however, and in the vast majority of matches there wont be some major systemic barrier in your way that'll prevent you from contesting a bounty before they can get an unbridgeable lead towards extract.
If this is something that really affects you, there are playstyles that can help reduce your chances of getting left in the dust. Going to the center of the map ASAP means you'll almost always be able to reach boss lair before banish is finished. This isn't a perfect playstyle and makes a lot of its own sacrifices, but it's still an option you have to weigh against others.
I don't disagree with the core idea that players running away can make a match boring for the rest of the lobby, Hunt is PvP game first and foremost and the objective exists to spark interesting dynamic PvP interactions.
The problem with your suggestion is that fights at extract are generally some of the lowest quality fights in the game.
Extracts are meant to be vulnerable, hard to defend, they generally lack cover and often take place around water. The extract blocking mechanic forces players on the offensive to take up weak or otherwise nonsensical positions to prevent the other team from escaping. None of this is conducive towards fun or dynamic fights.
Longer extract time is probably the worst way to make changes to this dynamic, you'd be much better off making it more possible to chase down a bounty carrier, since chases are more dynamic and engaging encounters where teams have more options, cover more interesting parts of the map, and don't force either team into making last ditch suicide dives.
@ashen silo Bulwark, my friend.. 50% less damage from explosives costing only 2 points.. works on red barrels, explosive ammo, dynamites and also Flash bombs..
Ik ik . U still take bleeding damage though . Plus those weapons are just ridiculous in terms of being realistic.
As i mentioned , its like playing a pve game , with aoe weapons, you dont even need to aim for the foe’s body which is the whole point of this game imo
That's my issue, if xbow was nerfed in aoe damage along with bulwark getting nerfed to 25% I think I'd be fine with it
I see people with very very bad gameplays and no strategy wield xbow and bow explosive and win becuz firstly they use the fast reload perk for xbow and secondly they spam bow frag to disrupt people.

Most times, a single choke bomb is enough to stop a hail of Frag bows or explo xbow volley since it’s usually being fired from a singular position allowing you to stand in or near the choke and shoot at an enemy that now forced to use their side arm or swap off the explosive ammo
If an xbow shot or a bow frag were to shoot through the choke(Not make the shot land in the AOE) would that also disable it?

Try it out, just don’t stand next to barrels with it
Great on doorways or areas with cover, just don’t let the coughing mess up your aim and remember they can rotate too, but if you have bulwark and bloodless- it basically renders the Xbow moot
Frag bow goes past bulwark but bloodless should help and the choke should force them to aim way outside of where you are

oh yes but i noticed myself that if i have the right traits "res" and "bloodless" you can actually even survive several concertina as your body makes a small place where you can stand up in the midst of the barbed wire allowing you to stop the bleeding at low hp but still survive
I dont mean for this to be a nerf to the necromancer trait... being a necromancy obsessed person myself XD, but i feel like an instant burn like the stake when people are already at the point that they are standing on your body will be fair, and as a solo in this situation i should accept my loss XD
I like the idea of stopping Necro from afar, but there is existing methods already, but I feel like stakes are crazy... removing all health chunks makes no sense
and like the whole point of a downed body is to sort of force the team to make a play to save their teammates heathbars, and you cant really do that
like that's why burning downed players is a thing
It's just really annoying RN cuz of infernal and the other restoration effects
oh yes that makes sense when your fighting team vs team, my issue is when playing solo and having clearly lost a fight to the point where they are now able to loot you with no consequences, for the ones who won to find fire and wait the whole duration you burn out, or for the solo to just be outfarmed if he tries to get up, that part of the necromancer experience just feels like it was not meant for the game

Agreed ^^, however the second part of the issue is the time it takes to burn out someone since there is no longer and audible cue for when solos leave, is that you end up waiting so long that you loose out on other fights just to be sure that the man you shot 3 times doesnt shoot you in the back as you leave his corpse behind
but you can also empty their weapons or... I am pretty sure there is a way to weapon swap them so they have no weapons when they stand up

You can usually leave a solo burning and weapon swapped, they generally leave me alone when I beat them with my fiends in this way
I dont know still feels like if you dont burn them out they will come back for you, I have done it before and ive been killed before by people doing the same, however most times i still feel like camping is what ends up occuring instead, and then id rather just be instakilled by someone that close instead of trying my luck or wasting their or my own time waiting for the burn
oh but i also included that if you do have teamates they can remove the stake for you with an action rather than losing all your health chunks to it, its mainly meant to counter solos and make revives slightly harder with necromancer
but i suppose most people seem against this idea so i guess ill have to put it down... guess its campfire hunt for me XD maybe my next suggestion will be s'mores hehe ^^
There are lots of existing obstacles to prevent reviving, but I don't it should be impossible, I suppose that's why camping exists but , it's easier just to put up barriers and kill them again later

This game is fun and designed to be punitive and every move they made recently casualised it a lot. Hunt is way too easy as it is right now. Lvl 50 hunter are mean to be a great accomplishment. Now its so easy to get one its totally meaningless

tbh pros wouldn't switch to HUNT regardless because it's not their thing
it's a relatively minor personal adjustment - coming from someone who's playing tons of FPS - vs having to wrestle with the game's codebase to support both modes and prevent headglitching
A certain pro didn't even notice the crosshair being lower until it was pointed out to them and all of the sudden it was a problem

A lot of players who stumble into hunt after being good at let’s say cod and siege tend to do pretty well in hunt should they learn the actual mechanics, or some of them, of hunt
I have the major issue of not knowing how to use both the left and right stick at the same time, which is why my aim sucks- it feels like I’m using wooden bars to control my aiming with a controller, it’s just not natural but it’s just based on skill with what you got- a 40% height crosshair vs 50% wont do much to change that
I agree with this. It changes the focus of the game to the solo I just killed. When I have to stop all play to wait for one person to burn out its frustrating. Add the 2 traits to slow burning and it becomes even more toxic.
I dislike Necromancer a lot, i don't believe they going to remove it, but should be reworked to 1 time use (burn trait, non stackable), solo or teams. Normal revive is enough. Deaths/insta necro became a joke, and now during events its even a bigger joke with relentless stack plus resilience.

The same way everyone can hear sound cues theres needs to be something you can do to sniff out immobile hunters
Instinct was nice as a basic thought i think but its range was too wide and its effect to omnipotent
maybe try something like instinct that has a lower range and faintly activates on players no moving some distance for some seconds
i know it sounds lame for people that rely on hiding and waiting stuff out
But i am convinced that we really would profit from a hunting mechanic in a game literally called HUNT
i know thats probably regarded to the PvE aspect of the hunt - but i still think that applying tracking mechanics to PvP would make the game so much less stale and reactive
Or if everythig of that is too much just make hunters fuckin breath (yea breathing heavily under pressure is a thing) when they dont move some distance for a while
atleast give us active players something to sniff out immobile reactive players
it would just be used to counter ambushes if it kicks in too early, otherwise what value would be had if it kicks in too late since if you are suspicious that other players are near by- congrats, you ensure your safety by slowing sweeping the area by sitting down and waiting for the ability to be active... which in turn makes you the camper lol
essentially -> too early = instinct 2.0, too late = you already suspect people are there, deal with the issue via sweeping area instead of a trait/mechanic doing it for you

I would say there is a difference between camping and ambush. I’m an ambush scenario that’s just a tactic, I’m not sure you can remove that I’m an undisruptive way as stated earlier. However if players are camping and you know there general location there are already tools in the game to help you displace them and get your sound queues

This would be interesting to explore further as far as chasing goes because as of right now I find it very hard to actually be able to catch a team who is booking it for an extract. However, there are a ton of consumables you can use to try to sus people out of positions.

And yea tools are fine but its such a brittle argument because while hearing is unlimited and basekit tools arent.

Logistics of removing a gun from the ground aside, I think there's an interesting set of incentives and risk vs reward when you consider whether or not you want to swap out a part of your loadout to take a gun.
I definitely see the appeal of a trait like this, and just because it changes the aforementioned dynamic doesn't mean it's a bad idea, but I do wonder if it would remove some of the interesting choices involved in looting other players
i do like the idea of having more to loot, but it should not interfere with the current balance of a firefight, and leaving opponent without a weapon is a huge breach in said balance
and looting body clean when you dont have any weapon whatsoever is kinda "balanced" because you managed to snitch said weapons being naked
On the one hand, you can already sort of do that by unloading your weapon and swapping with them, but on the other hand this is obviously a much easier and more effective version of that.

Not being able to loot burned out players is there for a reason, yes, but this wouldn't interfere with that reason at all
If i kill a dude with a nitro and I wanna make sure that nitro isn't used in this lobby, I can burn that player to remove it from the game.
This trait also effectively removes weapons from the game, and thus it wouldn't really change any in-match balance
Assuming the obvious loophole of picking it up then swapping it for another gun on another corpse is accounted for
stealing weapon from the match is huge disadvantage for the party it was stealed from, if they manage to win this fight, then everything will be somewhat ok, but this cuts too much of a combat effectiveness of a team

This would still allow you to disarm players who can get redskull revived... but tbqh I don't think we need to make things ultra fair and comfy for people who have been redskulled

Absolutely love this game. The pvp is so rewarding and fairly well balanced. Would be amazing to see a few things: 1. soul survivor mode with duos only. it's such a fun game mode but sad to see unplayable with a friend. Be nice to just mix things up once in a while game mode-wise, respecting a potentially lower player base so you can't offer too many variations. 2. separate mmr from soul survivor to main hunt so they don't impact each other. 3. slow down the mmr rating so it can't swing so wildly in general (i know this has been discussed). 3. Add a few more teams to the map if it doesn't crush performance, particularly when there are 2 bosses it impacts pvp. one boss is almost always pretty fun but could still use another team or two. Just some thoughts, keep up the good work! : )
You know what type of shotguns we need are 410 caliber types in game they gave good range in irl and the spread is kinda of small with a 410 have a stevens bolt action 410 on a game would be unique in the game
Also looting a hunter for anything they have on them (your choice of tools/consumables vs random), maybe even ability to take their hunter skin (use until you die) would be fun. More rewarding kills.

So to make dynamite more an utility than a pvp tool
We could equip following in 1slot
- 3x dynamit stick
- 2x dynnamit bundle
- 1x big dynamit bundle
to compensate for the larger quantity the lesser dynamite get reduce in area of effect
so small stick could be used to hit away concertina and only kill people if aimed dead on

not really thinking itd be a good idea to add this, just a cool concept to think about: a decoy clue. Put it down and other hunters can see it in dark sight. it makes a slightly different whispering sound so you can distinguish it. I think itd be kinda useless but its fun to think about. itd also encourage camping
Title: Solo revive has upset the game balance
Details: It has changed the pace of the game, we have to wait around burning downed hunters now, and keep guns aimed on them in case they get up... missing objectives and wasting time. If they're downed in water we cant burn, downed solo's even get up and escape concertina wire, and sometimes then wipe the team, I think it has changed the gameplay too much... also when it's all solo's in the server you know the revive mechanic is op.
All solos in the lobby is actually a good thought experiment. I bet most would agree that it's not gonna be a pleasant experience even just because of necro, without mentioning playstyles.

A lot of things are possible, question is if they are good solutions to begin with
The goal of the matchmaking system is not to provide 100% balanced matches, it's there to provide more balanced matches
The more strict you make a matchmaking system, the more players you need to not sacrifice on matchmaking times/full lobbies
And people severely underestimate the amount of extra players needed for each division to queues/matchmaking
So to summarize, matchmaking development or such is not a matter of "if they can" and more often than not "should they"

Back in 2018 we had neither skill based matchmaking or fast queue times, and the main complaint to address was queue times

And maybe yes, reduce the hitbox for headshots - I don't care who is good or not - BUT, players with the same level either good or bad shall play each other - AND NOT just filling the f... lobby - I don't care whether the lobby is full or not - sometimes it is just good to make some money. I would like this idea as long as it improves not just the strong melee attack, but also the weak melee attack.
Don't play peak hours and learn to avoid fights you can't win. If you're charging into a trap ridden lair with two guys who know exactly where you are cause they just picked up the bounty, you're probably going to die. The sight range for people who have the bounty is about 150 meters, stay out of that range and if at all possible trap the place they're going ahead of time. Fight them on your terms, not theirs.
Especially play peak hours. Only nolifers are online during unusual hours.
The same reason Hunt is significantly easier during Event because more casuals are playin,

No, the majority of players of hunt are 4 stars. This guy doesn't want to encounter them. so playing off peak hours makes you much more likely to end up in lobbies that aren't full and have less 4+ star players in them. Less players makes it easer to avoid players altogether and only take the fights you like. At 8 am central week days US servers, I never have a problem landing in a lobby with less than 6 people. If I have a hunter that's level 40+, I set them aside to play them during that time so I can be sure to get the 500 hunt bucks for maxing them out.

Cause if you can't no-life the game, or you have a shit connection like some of us, you take advantages where you can. avoiding PVP only happens until it's advantageous not to. If you see the bounty holders getting chased off the lair and heading for an extract you happen to be close to, trap the shit out of it and then move a little further than 150 away from it. Close in while the ones chasing them are weakening them, then clean up what remains.
sorry to bring up the topic pretty late but 2018 population was a third to half of our current size no? it would make sense for a playerbase with 6k average players to prioritize queue times since they had a much smaller pool of players to draw from compared to modern day hunt
But now it’s not just 6k average, it more- and Hunt as a game and community has shifted majorly since 2018

Description: Alright, been thinking about this one for a wee while, A lot of people complaining about Necro. Not sure if i can explain this correctly but.
How about revamping the Necromancer mechanics in a way that seems balanced from both parties perspective. in a way that stops body camping, and the frustration of someone coming back 5 times in a single fight, and also stops you from being camped.
The amount of Necromancer charges you get in a game depends on the amount of Clues/ Rifts you open. *Not including rot jaw (Limited by the amount of Health Chunks you have)
So one open clue is equal to one charge of Necro. (Limited by the amount of Health Chunks you have)
However, when you die as a solo player and you hit the Necro button, a quick banish animation plays, your body disappears and you effectively respawn at the Last rift you opened, ( Like your body vanishing and walking the rift passing the afterlife.) Minus one Health Chunk.
This way, it takes you completely away from the fight you lost, and gives all parties involved a chance to recoup without the frustration of body camping.
Once a rift is used, that rift will "burn out" and will no longer be used. and the next time you die and necro, you sill respawn at the 2nd to last rift you opened, and so forth.
This encourages solo player to walk around the map collecting clues etc.

I dislike a lot Necromancer, one of the few poor addictions, it should be removed for trios, Solos that want challenge gameplay then cry that its too hard.. i guess, give them 1 time use.

I wouldnt like any mechanic that magically teleports a player away - its too safe and would make any encounter trivial. A risk averse player would basically never lose his hunter and that would lead the basic gameplay ad absurdum.
Aswell as for the enemy a player that just comes back a few minutes later out of nowhere would be the most frustrating thing ever.

similar thing with teleporting but it might feel more fair if you can shoot the beetle. as long as you can't choose when to spawn the beetle on your body, thatd be the same problem with the unfair teleporting

I had a similar idea of the dead hunter transforming into a pile of beetles like the Assassin Boss. Then he could spawn anywhere around his corpse in 25m (necro range).

Self revive is fine as it is and could just use some number tweaks - like faster burning speed and a little bit quicker revive timer.

what is the upside compared to just take a winfield or an officer carbine for example?
there is already flechette in the game which makes shotguns two tap and adds a lot of range and almost no one plays it.
There are some perks that allow you to stay aimed down site while shooting a shotgun like Iron Devastator. And maybe the perk for lever action rifles? If that works for the Terminus. So shotguns like the Crown and King/Terminus/Specter/Caldwell have a decent rate of fire and wouldn’t necessarily receive a huge downgrade if the recoil for the suggested ammunition was low enough, allowing for another option for ranged ammunition with ease of use. Personally I’ve barely used flechette either and also don’t use shotguns a lot. But it could be a fun addition giving a decent amount of range. And possibly could be a cheap special ammunition. Don’t most weapons kill in two shots anyway? Would the possibility of a headshot multiplier make it more worthwhile? Giving it more range than slugs. In doing so could make it so you could have more diversity in secondary options like bringing a sword or something.
terminus and crown are are relatively expensive.
so if you have to do two taps at medium and short range you want high rate of fire.
even if you take these expensive shotguns it would lose in a duel against much cheaper weapons due to lower fire rate.
most weapons are twoshot, but shotguns are oneshot kill in their effective range this is what it makes them so good at close range. by taking away the oneshot you need to give it other advantages to give the player a reason to take birdshot.
shotguns won't win the fire rate battle even the crown loses by 100ms compared to the officer. compact would just do a better job at two tapping.
maybe one way to make it viable is to bump up the damage to at least 125 damage then you can do headshot kills at close range, and onetap players who are missing one bar and give it like a lot of pellets which spread out at range, this is functionally almost still the same as flechette minus the bleed, with the difference that it would saturate large areas at range for less damage (flechette has a rather thight cone)
this would make it a viable ammo type for shotguns as a sidearm for people who like to play a sparks for example to get the main damage out and then just needs the tiniest amount of damage to confirm the kill.

Not every gun needs to be top performer in the same category. The springfield got dumdum and hv which help with damage or headshot potential. While its ammo is still pretty subpar regarding penetration and damage dropoff.
So while the martini hasnt the fastest mv or fancy special ammos like the springfield - it makes up for it with brute power. Its long ammo while still having respectable rate of fire (even more so with its ironside variant) also sets it aside from the sparks which is fairly slow in comparison.
So you have a solid hitter for a cheap price which has its tradeoffs a skilled player can somewhat play around.
The mindset of giving so many special ammo types to many different guns is concerning because it destroys guns niches and personality.
The martini henry reloads just as fast as the springfield at 143 damage with long ammo pen

I'm not versed enough on hunt to give exact numbers, but I originally imagined it as a tool, like the knife. If it takes a weapon slot instead though, probably a single slot, as it fits snugly into belts much like revolvers.

@lean sky they already had 60 minutes In game and people just hide all the game im a 5-6 stars player and people in 3-4 stars mostly just crouch all the game so adding more time it’s a bad idea

I had no issues with Necro... until this event. I don't leave down hunters unburned unless I know we've wiped the whole team. But the time it takes to burn out hunters with this event is just annoying. I'd love for them to add something to that- layers of burning, the more lanterns/firebombs/etc you set a hunter on fire with, the faster they burn- teammates can do something besides stand there waiting. I don't mind solos being able to self rez, and to be able to do that with full health, as I do think that's only fair since they are at a disadv. against duos/trios (MMR stuff is a whole other issue)... but there should be a way for folks to speed up the burning.
Bout to bring 12 firebombs and just absolutely pelt the first guy we down with them all so that they burn out instantly

We did kill a self rez solo who was covered in 2 concertina bombs with bees while looking for lanturns. that was funny.

@carmine needle I think hunters that are "downed" are straight up dead, and thus don't breath anyway (otherwise why dont other hunters just check for breathing/double tap you?) Necro/another player reviving you is using bayou magic shit to bring you back from death, with the bounty enhancing this ability to the point of ripping them straight from the afterlife. Burning works, because after a while, theres only so much left to bring back.

they do breathe, at least it plays a breathing sound when you're downed and trying to listen around you

If Spitzer is a combination of HV and FMJ with combination of both traits of fmj and HV
FMJ should have a damage penalty too, as supported by Spitzers descriptive reasoning of losing damage
FMJ= less deformation = more penetration but also less serious wound channel so less damage

You can compensate with heavier rounds but only to a point, and even then, only so much energy is needed on soft targets so- still makes sense

imo bornheim/avto/dolch etc dont fit hunt showdown. avto is kinda cool as a super overpowered "uh oh he has an avto" weapon but i feel like nitro kinda fits that role already
