Temporarily disable your antivirus if it is flagging the files needed for installing TrollStore and/or jailbreaking. It may also intervene with the sideloading process.

For Windows Defender, disabling real-time protection should be sufficient.

You should re-enable it after you jailbreak your phone.

palera1n has received updates to support both iPadOS 17 and 18, however this comes with some misconceptions. palera1n is different from app-based jailbreaks such as Taurine, unc0ver, Dopamine, etc, as it uses the checkm8 bootROM exploit. In simple terms, this means that the exploit targets the read-only low level hardware of the phone, meaning it is completely unfixable by Apple, and can only be fixed by releasing newer devices.

However, this also means palera1n will only ever support older devices on 17+, namely A10X iPads and older (as there are no checkm8-supported iPhones that received iOS 17 or newer). Compatibility for iPadOS 17+ is limited to the following devices:

• iPad 6th Gen
• iPad 7th Gen (17 & 18)
• iPad Pro 10.5 inch
• iPad Pro 12.9 inch 2nd Gen

Hey everyone, I need some help. I made a stupid mistake on the wrong device.

I was creating a tweak and accidentally tested it on a checkra1n jailbroken device. I tried to boot into Safe Mode, but the tweak I made covers the entire screen, so I’m unable to uninstall it, even in Safe Mode. Since I’m new to tweak development, I didn’t realize I needed to add Safe Mode support in the code.

In normal (stock) mode, I can still use the phone. I installed Filza via TrollStore and found my tweak’s files in the folder. I wanted to delete them, but unfortunately, TrollStore’s Filza doesn’t have permission to do so.

If you’re in safe mode then the tweak shouldn’t be loaded at all

The tweak i created, it covers the screen even on safe-mode. I supposed to create an app like, but well i maybe did something wrong and it just cover the entire screen.

I dont know why, but on safe-mode it covers the screen. I can only use my device in normal mode.

The most faulty tweak ever. Only way is SSH. It would be easy if TrollStore - Filza can have permission to delete tweaks.

yes, all i need now is to access via SSH. This also first time i see that a tweak which causes the screen popup even on safe-mode. And its made by me. 😅

Device: iPhone 8+, iOS 14.6 (I used checkra1n to Jailbreak first time, and continue using Ra1npoc with device to device jailbreak), however i dont have access the the USB stick which created for checkra1n and its lost. I might be lazy to re-create, but i can able to do all with Ra1npoc, so i dont need checkra1n.

Now only issues is the tweak i have to get it removed. If normal SSH not working, then i have to try SSHRD_Script.

Fixed - Luckily SSH works on checkra1n by default - deleted the tweak and now all good!

Beginner's mistake - Lesson learned > Always use a seperate testing device to test an home made tweak!
