My aunt's husband has an ipad pro which doesnt remember the apple id password and when he clicks on forget password he requires to enter a phone number which he doesnt have anymore and doesnt remember the number.

I used iMazing to try and erase all of the ipad's data without it asking for the Apple ID password but instead, it just activate locked it.

I found an app to get rid of the activation lock because now i cant even use the iPad at all, and the app tells me to put a usb and the app was gonna download the jailbreak into the usb.

I download the jailbreak, turn off UEFI on the laptop and i then opened the checkra1n menu thingy. I checked like 2 settings which were "Install unofficial ios thingy blablabla" and "skip all BPR check" and then i would have to hold the power button and home button until it started to inject the jailbreaking. A couple seconds its like almost full and it said "Booting" while the downloading bar thingy was stuck, and the iPad's screen kept displaying the Apple logo with checkra1n logo in the middle.

I could cancel the injecting process but i couldnt get rid of the activation lock. I'm on a windows 11 laptop and i dont know what to do about it

If you’re on AMD/Ryzen, you may be encountering a few issues when using checkra1n or palera1n. This can vary between freezes and straight up crashes. It’s because of AMD’s weird drivers that cause it not to work that well with checkra1n’s/palera1n's exploit. If you’re lucky you can actually successfully manage to jailbreak using checkra1n/palera1n.

Tips to increase successrate:

• Plug your device into your computer's motherboard.
• Use a genuine Apple USB-A to lighting cable.

If you’re stuck on the apple logo please force reboot yourself (see: /tag reboot).

If these don’t work, try to get your hands on another computer (preferably intel), and try to use checkra1n again.

I use checkra1n and I’ve been facing an odd bug.

12.5.7 iPhone 6. When I jailbreak, I can access all my package managers and some of my apps just fine, and the custom keyboard sounds from Filza stay. However, none of my other tweaks are active or are visible in Settings, and I can’t enable them no matter how much I try to reinstall them.

In terms of new taurine, I don’t think it’s going to make a difference for 14.3. I don’t think they are changing anything for that version of iOS.

If you needed to use the unplug and plug method in checkra1n to get it to work, it no longer works in the latest versions of checkra1n. Downgrade to 0.10.1 to get it to work.

While it may be theoretically possible, practically it’s not. U would to write all the proper drivers for your “mobile Linux” distro to work with Apple hardware. This isn’t an easy task. Will require a lot of reverse engineering and since iOS is closed source it’s just adds to the difficulty.

hey, is there any way to mount the data partition (/dev/disk0s1s2) to clear up some space when on the system partition (/dev/disk0s1s1) there is only an "apfs_invert_asr_img" file because of a failed update from iOS 10.2 to latest 12.5.7? theres no sep-firmware file because of the stuck update situation, so i cant mount the data partition.
i think there must be some way, doesnt it? Because my mac still gives me the option to update with keeping userdata, but of course it always fails at the step to invert the asr image (error 14) because theres not enough space. the ipad (air 1st gen, A7 64-bit) has no pin code enabled.
i can ssh onto the device with the SSHRD ramdisk.
I even copied the "apfs_invert_asr_img" file to my mac and used "asr" to invert the file and get the working filesystem in there, but looks like a clean iOS system partition? so theres no sep-firmware.img4 sadly...

i read that futurerestore and idevicerestore load that sep firmware somehow while restoreing, thats how apple does it too i guess? is there any way to make use of that to mount the data partition somehow to clean up some space and retry the original update while keeping userdata?

i got told that PongoOS could help there? but for me its way to complex without any hints.

Hi, I have an iPhone 5s which is locked with Activation Lock. (no, im not asking how to get it removed lol.) I'm attempting to use checkra1n with it, however when I attempt to put the phone into DFU mode, it will reboot, show the apple logo, then go back into recovery mode. I am using a usb-c to lightning cable made by apple, which i've heard can cause problems, however i've used the cable hours prior to get it into dfu mode, but with checkra1n not running, so I wasn't able to jailbreak it. I don't have another cable on hand unfortunately, which makes it extremely difficult for me to jailbreak. Any idea on how to get it into DFU mode?

• A12+ up to (and including) iOS 15.5, install using https://api.jailbreaks.app/troll64e
• A12+ up to (and including) iOS 16.5, a simple installer is coming soon, but instructions for manual installation can be found in the latest release post on the GitHub repo
• A12+ up to (and including) iOS 16.6.1, and iOS 17.0, you will have to wait for an install method

And remember, 16.7.x will NEVER be supported, nor will 17.0.1+
