Hello! I have an iPad Air 2 on version 13.3.1, and I'm trying to update to 14.8.1 using OTA Delay according to the guide https://ios.cfw.guide/updating-blobless/ . Since I'm below 14.5, I did the additional steps for modifying com.apple.MobileAsset.plist. The update shows up fine, but when I tap Install, it says "Unable to Verify Update" "iPadOS 14.8.1 failed verification because you are no longer connected to the Internet." What should I do?

While we're on this subject, do you have any advice? My main reason for trying to upgrade would be to patch all the other major security holes that have been found in the past 2 years or so since I haven't used this iPad in a while, but since this is a secondary device, I won't be using it every day. Is it still reasonably safe to stay on 13.3.1 for the time being while I wait for checkra1n iOS 15, or are the security issues a major concern?

The problem that I’m having is that connecting from other phones, using an app called snmp&ssh, I can only connect intermittently

But I’ve verified that I don’t think it is a host name or app problem since filza WebDAV server always seems to connect fine

I don’t think it’s a connection issue there but I can only think of WebDAV

But I would like a more universally available protocol like sftp

WebDAV is okay and all, but it's not great when you need a lot of files in either direction

Oh I finally found the issue

It wasn’t actually a problem with the iPhone or openssh after all but I did suspect that it had happened after an openssh update

But what actually happened was that I had been using hostname.local to connect to it

But I looked it up and apparently it’s better practice to use hostname.lab

So it’s been an issue with the clients the whole time
