While the official 15.1 /RC patches the IOMFB iOS 15.1 beta 3 exploit . Why are people telling me to update to 15.1? Is there a better working vulnerability for 15.1 compared to the one from b3 in this case the IOMFB? Im so confused and don't know if I should update 15.1 beta 3 to 15.1 stable version or not...... iPhone SE 2020.

When using checkra1n on the iPhone 8/X running iOS 14 you will not be able to use any SEP features such as:

• Passcode
• Touch ID/Face ID
• Apple Pay

When in a jailbroken state you can use BioProtect XS to protect your apps with Touch ID/Face ID and lockdown beta to use a fake passcode, but this is not real security, as the protection will disappear if someone simply reboots your phone.

I went from an i7 14.2 Odyssey to a i13 Pro currently on 15.1 (obv not jb). I restored RootFS before backing up the i7 and subsequently restoring to the i13, but when I try to launch Pokemon Go on the 13 Pro, it immediately crashes. Are there jailbreak files stuck on my 13 Pro?
If there are, are there relatively easy ways of cleansing the phone?

To restore in Recovery Mode:

Hey all. Have a problem and could use some ideas for solutions please. Need to look at some old text messages and take screenshots of them from over a year ago (Period December 2019-December 2020) and when I scroll back in my iMessage thread in question on my iPhone it takes forever to load and then the app crashes every time when I get to March 2021. I need a solution to view the iMessages either on my Windows computer or to fix the iPhone messages app which crashes before I can get back to the date in question. Unfortunately, what I think you're trying to do is quite impossible because either you sent a lot of iMessage's over that time or you sent photo's that are big and trying to keep in your current cache even if you did have a mac I don't think it would help you in this situation due to relying on ur current timeframe of iMessage.

On jailbroken devices, you can install SupervisedEnabler. If unjailbroken, you'll have to use Apple Configurator 2 or iMazing.

What's a blob?

It is a file containing a special key specifically for that one device to allow downgrading to a specific firmware.
They're like golden tickets, but instead a digital signature made by Apple that was saved at the time when the signing window was open. If you possess one (or many), keep them safe.

How do they work?

They can be used in a program called futurerestore to restore to a firmware in which the SEP/Baseband is compatible. To check SEP/Baseband compatibility, check /tag sepbb.

Make sure to not use misleading sites.

Regardless of SEP/Baseband compatibility, any/all blobs should be saved for future downgrading abilities.

Can I save them now?
Of course. Blobs can be saved at any time, but it is crucial to save them when Apple releases new firmware, because they can only be saved for versions that are currently signed.There is one exception to this: if you are jailbroken and Apple has unsigned the version you're currently on, you may save onboard blobs for that version.

Hello, if anyone can help i’d appreciate it, i’ve had a few issues involving altstore/uncover/ and right now cydia has an error/issue, something about having to forcible-clear a half-installed/configured package. For context, the past week or two i have been trying to rejailbreak my iphone 6s (ios12.4), it was previously jailbroken but as of recent altstore/server doesn’t work for ios 12, at least from what i’ve seen altstore crashes after altserver installs it, and before that when trying to use unc0ver after it was signed by either repro or sideloadly, it gave me an error about failing to find kernal data structures, so i tried using altserverpatcher with a custom url link to an earlier altstore, and then using that ipa of altstore install unc0ver (i think current version so 7.0.2) and that brings up a new error that it was improperly signed and so it didn’t work, then i tried using altserverpatcher again to install unc0ver since it just lists that as an option, and it installed i believe 4.6 or around there, and i got a whole other error, and i should have screenshotted it but i didn’t so that’s my fault, but anyways i found out i could open cydia despite not being jailbroken and i was alerted saying that a package was half installed configured and that i could temporarily leave it, which will cause issues, or forcible-remove whatever the issue is, but the latter option had (unsafe) next to it, and when looking at the changed tab cydia substrate was highlighted in red with remove listed opposite of package queue, so with all that out of the way, first and foremost, if i remove the package which im guessing is cydia substrate, what happens? I just wanna be able to jailbreak but have been trying to get all the other issues out of the way, again any help would be appreciated, sorry for the huge text

Ok, i restored rootfs with chimera, and prior to going forward with it, it alerted me that it detected a prior jailbreak (unc0ver since that is what i used previously) and stated that it could undo it alongside any tweaks previously installed, and i accepted that and allowed it to reboot, and i re-entered chimera as instructed to complete the process, but upon entering chimera i didn’t notice anything other than when i first opened it, so i went forward with jailbreaking thru chimera, and it gave me an error that it could not be done due to an error and it closed

Restored rootfs a second time, reentered chimera, attempted to jailbreak again, now i see sileo, which is new, i think at this point im jailbroken now, so thank you, i did notice that cydia fails to open but if i recall right cydia isn’t compatible with chimera, or at least not at first

Reboot, open Chimera/Odyssey/Taurine, toggle on "Restore RootFS", then tap "Jailbreak".

Open the checkra1n app on your home screen and tap "Restore System". If the icon has disappeared or you get "Restore Error: General", reboot and re-jailbreak.

If the above methods didn't work, see /tag rootfscli for more options.

What's a blob?

It is a file containing a special key specifically for that one device to allow downgrading to a specific firmware.
They're like golden tickets, but instead a digital signature made by Apple that was saved at the time when the signing window was open. If you possess one (or many), keep them safe.

How do they work?

They can be used in a program called futurerestore to restore to a firmware in which the SEP/Baseband is compatible. To check SEP/Baseband compatibility, check /tag sepbb.

Make sure to not use misleading sites.

Regardless of SEP/Baseband compatibility, any/all blobs should be saved for future downgrading abilities.

Can I save them now?
Of course. Blobs can be saved at any time, but it is crucial to save them when Apple releases new firmware, because they can only be saved for versions that are currently signed.There is one exception to this: if you are jailbroken and Apple has unsigned the version you're currently on, you may save onboard blobs for that version.

Im sitting here with an iPhone 8.
It’s on iOS 14.7.1.

I would like to jailbreak it, to get a YouTube app similar to Vanced for android, to skip advertisements and so on and so forth, while retaining as much functionality as possible. Touch ID isn’t a requirement, merely a nice to have, but being able to keep certain apps updated such as MobilePay seems critical.

Which vulnerability / exploit would you personally recommend?

well, the only option for 14.7.1 is checkra1n... but that means no passcode or touchid due to sep issues

if you only want a better youtube app, then you can sideload instead

Well, you could just sideload a modified YouTube app without losing any features. However it requires signing every 7 days. Also, you cant access root + use tweaks. Also you can only have 3 applications at an instance and not all modifications for an application function correctly as they do need root.
Jailbreaking for your situation would only be possible with Checkra1n or Ora1nge juice. It breaks password and is a semi-tethered jailbreak so you require a computer to jailbreak each time. Up to you, but I would choose to make my own ipa then sideload it.

@finite void Thank you for replying. Very concise and informational post. If I were to sign this one particular app every seven days, how much work would it regularly roughly take? A minute? An hour? Im well aware that first time setups will be slower, second and third time is spent working out the kinks of the process, and from the next month onwards, I’ll be doing it like a pro. But what exactly will that pro work time be like? If it’s like an hour every week, perhaps I should consider something ‘more permanent’ like checkra1n?
That brings the next question: how often would I need to rejailbreak it? I can sort of imagine the answer: ‘every time you want to update iOS’, and I suppose it was a loaded question, but… I haven’t updated this thing for half a year, and it doesn’t have any issues yet, so I guess I can confidently say twice a year?

TLDR: I would rejailbreak twice a year. Do you think sideloading is a better option, and that 52 resigns a year is quicker and less work?

Sideloading an app usually takes under a minute to do so, you should be fine. If you do want something more permanent by using Checkra1n it would eliminate the need to sideload your app every 7 days, as well as all other other benefits of jailbreaking. Since there is no passcode (you’ll have to use a tweak to have any semblance of a passcode) I don’t think you should jailbreak your device, especially since it also requires a rejailbreak everytime you reboot your device (most oftenly occurring when your device runs out of battery). Another reason you probably don’t want to take this route is because unless you’re utilizing most of the features of a jailbreak you probably won’t want all of that hassle. Also some iOS versions don’t have a jailbreak (basically anything iOS 15+ for you) so if you do want to jailbreak in the future if a time ever comes, don’t update.
