What's a blob?

It is a file containing a special key specifically for that one device to allow downgrading to a specific firmware.
They're like golden tickets, but instead a digital signature made by Apple that was saved at the time when the signing window was open. If you possess one (or many), keep them safe.

How do they work?

They can be used in a program called futurerestore to restore to a firmware in which the SEP/BaseBand is compatible. (see The SEP Checker here: https://joshblah555.github.io/JoshTV/SEPCheckr.html)

Regardless of SEP/BaseBand compatibility, any/all blobs should be saved for future downgrading abilities.

Can I save them now?

Of course. Blobs can be saved at any time, but it is crucial to save them when Apple releases new firmware.
If Apple has unsigned the version for which you're trying to save, then you may also save onboard blobs as well.

If I’m reading what you’ve said correctly, then you’re already jailbroken with unc0ver. You just need Taurine to restore rootfs. So enable the “restore rootfs” switch in Taurine and press jailbreak.

Hi, I just tried to jailbreak my iPhone X (and it was also my first time doing this), with checkra1n... I did everything as it said. My phone should have successfully entered DFU mode and Checkra1n started to do it's thing until Checkra1n itself crashed while "checking if device is ready" or something along the lines of that. I don't know if it's still in DFU mode, all I know is, that I can't turn it on anymore. It's just black. I've tried to restart checkra1n but it didn't even detect that the phone was connected... I guess I just unknowingly destroyed my phone now... does anybody maybe know something to help..?

So I finally peeked my head over into jailbreaking cause I’m in need of a solution.

So here’s my situation-
I have a photo vault app on my iPhone 7, and I was using it just fine a 3-4 days ago. Just a couple days ago, my iPhone automatically updated to iOS 14.6. Guess what, now that photo vault is incompatible and won’t let me open it. Already contacted the developer for the app and they told me that the app has been discontinued since 2018, sooo yeah….
I currently have no way to regain access to the media I had stored in there by normal means. So I tried to use iMazing to create a backup so I could try to extract the folder where the media is at onto my computer. But then iMazing gives me the “since iOS 8.3, file sharing must be enabled/ this file is inaccessible” shenanigans, so still out of luck. The file is literally right there in front of my eyes, gigs and everything. So here I am now with the following question-
I’ve read that jailbreaking gives you full administrative access to the OS system files and such. Does that include everything? Like even app data? Given my situation, would I be able to regain access to those files with my media by jailbreaking?

Ok that gives me hope. So iOS 14.6 is I would assume is pretty recent. I don’t always have my phone on the charger by midnight so it doesnt regularly update itself all the time. It just so happened to be hooked up by the time midnight rolled around that couple days ago. Has it been jailbroken yet?

That's the only jailbreak for iOS 14.6 at the moment, and it's hardware-dependent, but it supports your device so you can use it

I'd personally recommend Odysseyra1n but it's your choice

That makes checkra1n work on new iOS versions a lot sooner than any other jailbreak

It doesn't work for the iPhone XS or later

Because the bug is patched in that model

I have a question unrelated to jailbreak, im not even jailbroken atm. On ios 14.4 on iphone12. Somehow I accidently clicked «ok» when a website asked to add a calender event. And a bunch of crap was added. Deleted most of it, however there is still a subscription to «holidays in turkey» active that i can only hide and not delete. From my google-fu i find that holiday subscriptions are imposed by apple and can not be deleted. However, im not in turkey, have not been to turkey, and my phones region is set to norwegian. Ive tried changing my region from norwegian to usa and back again in the hopes it would help, but it changed nothing. Still shows «holidays in turkey».
Anyone knows how to fix this?

Also its not showing as a subscription, like the one at the bottom called «merkedagskalender», «abbonert» in english means subscribed. Its showing as shared by holidays in turkey and as belonging to gmail account🤔

Can someone help me figure out what’s going on? Recently I rootfs’d and restored as new my phone (11 on 14.3) but even before this and eventually now, I get this bug where on the LS when I lock my screen the animation is smooth, but on HS it turns off abruptly. Tried turning off LPM but it doesn’t seem to be it. Any ideas or fixes to this?

you have a basically 0 chance of getting one of the previous nonces again that were saved with pre-3.0 so no way to find the generator for those and make them valid

How to fix this error:
Unable to check for update. An error occurred while checking for a software update.
Method 1 (easiest): Install OTAEnabler.

Method 2: Open unc0ver, tap the gear icon, turn OFF "Disable OTA updates", tap Done, tap the Jailbreak button.

If you're still having issues make sure you didn't disable the OTA daemon in iCleaner and you don't have the tvOS/watchOS beta profile. If you are still having issues, you may need to DFU restore.
