I use WhatsApp Duplicate (sideloaded - signed with my Apple developer account).
I always do a full backup (iTunes) and I can keep all data and conversations (from WhatsApp Duplcate) if I restore backup to another device and deploy my signed WhatsApp Duplicate again.
My question is: if I restore the backup (with data from WhatsApp Duplicate) on a device that is not in the list of devices in my Apple Developer account, jailbreak that device, can I install WhatsApp Duplicate and have access to the data?

I have a spare iPhone which I jailbroke around August 2020 and unjailbroke it within a month. It was on iOS 13.3. I got it out again today to update to iOS 14, but when I went on settings it showed "Unable to Check for update: an error occurred while checking for software update". I re-downloaded Unc0ver, jailbroke again and toggled off disable auto update and toggled on restore rootfs, to no avail and same message. I tried updating through my Mac running Catalina, to "software update corrupt"(did this 5 times). I tried downloading the ipsw and putting it on restore mode and again restoring it, to "firmware corrupt". I erased iPhone from the settings itself again and set up as new, and when I went to update it, the same message showed up "Unable to check for update". Can someone please help me?

after doing the button combos itunes or finder will detect the device in recovery mode but the only option youll have is restore, and you dont need to download the ipsw ahead of time, itunes will do it for you
if you dont care about jailbreaking anymore i would just use itunes/finder

I am stuck at the updating iCloud Setttings (lots of background posted in my reddit posts) after sucessfuly JB 14.3 and then attempting to restore from on disk backup. I suspect a conflict btw status of findmyiphone (which is off in iCloud), but was on in my restored backup. Don't want to spam the channel so additional info if you want to know/can help or posted https://www.reddit.com/r/jailbreak/comments/luqqk1/question_where_in_an_iphone_backup_can_i_find_the/. So either need to nuke the user (restore/erase without OS update) or somehow escape the Updating iCloud settings screen so I can erase from settings or envoke the JB again so I have better options to fix. Any thoughts perchance? (begging) 😉

Looking it up online earlier gave me the worst news for you. It seemed to be an old topic but the only people who had success either removed jb and erased from device or used succession. There were later updates to altstore that supposedly fixed this issue but obviously not if you’re having it

Initially I was stuck in recovery mode. Then I held the power button and home button to get to DFU mode. My computer only registers the iphone is plugged in when it's in DFU mode.

My “other” storage is so bloated and I do not have the folder that’s described under that (com.apple.CacheDeleteAppContainerCaches.deathrow). The only similar folder I can find is com.apple.cache_delete but it is so small in file size and already tried it before.
Should I be fine if I just delete everything in Caches folder?

lol its tricky sometimes... you have to press and release vol up then vol down, and then press and hold power... but you have to be really fast
give it at least 5 mins just to be sure, if nothing happens you may have to restore... (make sure your charger isn't plugged in, only one time I've seen it happen but a bad charger could cause a boot loop until it's unplugged)

yea, its not there
but all my tweaks are back
even if i have tweaks disabled
i can restore rootfs, reset, and cydia just wont come back even if i disable tweaks and try to reinstall

but tried it with 6.0.0 as well, which worked fine the other day
even reset my phone to make it fresh
same results now
not sure if i should continue restoring rootfs and tryin to reinstall cydia till it works but this makes no sense

just future restored to ios 14.3. checkra1n works fine. in unc0ver as soon as i jailbreak the touchscreen becomes unresponsive. the power, volume, and home buttons all work. on an iphone 8. Odyssey on 13.6 worked fine. I saw some things online about this happening with 3rd party screens and i just got mine replaced at a local shop.
