which has the amusing effect that you bypass that screen, so you can't press the button to dismiss it, so it's still there if you lock and wake it up again

actually nevermind the issue here is missing modulemaps. The easiest solution is to use the orion branch of Theos
Run git fetch in $THEOS and checkout the orion branch. Then run git submodule update --init to update your submodules.
Oh and you’ll also need a host swift toolchain (ideally the same version as the Theos Swift toolchain), which you can get from https://swift.org
