If you get an iPad 4, you can downgrade to 8.4.1 (You can dualboot on both 10 and 8 to any version from 6)

iPad Mini 2 is 64 bit so it's from 7 onwards so it's kinda better to get 4 since you get support for iOS 6 too

And newer iPads are a straight up no-no cause no 32-bit support

@left kernel Tried the games on iOS 10. Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 3D and the game crashes frequently, Nitro Kart 2 works perfectly while Simpsons Arcade crashes while launching. Then I dualbooted to iOS 6.1.3 (using coolbooter) and CBNK3D and Simpsons Arcade worked perfectly

If you have purchased the app previously then you can download the older version some times (If apple still has the older version on their servers). If you haven't purchased it, you can either get the ipa from somewhere and install it or get a newer idevice and download the latest version and then you might be able to download the older app

There's also a tweak which allows you to skip the new idevice part but it didn't work for me (maybe I didn't do it properly or something idunno lol)

Checkra1n won’t really work for a7 devices on a Linux Host. You will need to do a replug trick and may even need to use an older version of Checkra1n.

DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade) mode is a mode which allows a device in any condition to be restored to a fresh version of iOS (not to be confused with Recovery Mode). You cannot keep data when restoring via DFU and you can only restore to a signed version.

To restore via DFU:

• Enter DFU Mode
• Once you enter DFU, the device should show a black screen.
• Connect the device to a Mac/PC and open Finder/iTunes.
• On the prompt that says "A device has been connected in recovery mode and needs to be restored" press "Restore iPhone" then "Restore and Update.”

I unplugged the display, backlight and earpiece speaker and connect to it through veency, it stays on the Home Screen in case I ever unplug it

restoring rootfs is a relatively new thing that depended on the snapshot feature of apfs, which apple switched to on 10.3. you can use cydia eraser though
