In light of all the Home Screen slash iOS 14 customization stuff happening this year, I'm trying to source original iOS 6 image assets for use on SpringBoard on iOS 14.
I've tried using vfdecrypt and a GUI version to decrypt an old iOS 6 .ipsw in order to access the .artwork folders in order to get the actual stock icon images (like for Phone.app, MobileSafari, etc.), but was not able to mount the resultant .dmg’s :/
Anyone know of a modern tool to decrypt .ipsw’s, or, better yet, anyone know of a source for the actual image assets from the iOS 6 SDK or ipsw?

well, seeing as iOS 6.1.3 is not signed, you can't save blobs the normal way - you can use https://github.com/Merculous/SHSHDump to dump APTicket from the currently installed version before updating (assuming it even works on such an old version), but I don't think those type of blobs can be used for downgrading yet, maybe in the future
I found https://github.com/synackuk/n1ghtshade which can be used to do a downgrade but it seems to be tethered
I'm not very good at legacy stuff but this is what I found, hope it helps

hmmm, i'm having issues with altdeploy specifically on majove, when i enter my apple id / pw it doesn't seem to "stick" like it doesn't save the id, nor does it try to send the app using the mail plugin trick but at leas altserver attempts to send, but then warns me about 12.2 being the lowest supported version.
i think this has to do with running altdeploy on mojave specifically for my use case cuz this was working fine less than 2 weeks ago before i upgraded

Not only does it do 8.4.1 downgrades on most A5 devices, it also does 6.1.3 downgrades on 2011 iPad 2s and iPhone 4s's and 10.3.3 downgrades on most A7 devices
