i think the most glaring issue is the UI now, it broke before v1.9.0 and was never returned to full functionality; the video titles don't have a stylized font, it's misplaced and escapes its usual confines, stuff like the Share button, More button in the description, Profile button do not work at all

Shorts titles are barely visible due to said lack of stylizing, if you switch to dark mode you can't see anything at all

the bottom navigation tab has no icons and the text is cut off

i wish i could use the v1.8.9 UI, but it doesn't have all the fixes of the latter versions

I tried to downgrade a 4s to 6.1.3, but after I tried using kdfu app and trying to enter kdfu mode, the app said “ERROR”. Then I exited the app and when I tried to click on any app, the app icon just dims and the apps don’t open. I turned off the phone then, now the screen doesn’t turn on, but you can hear the charge sound when it’s plugged in.

note how the Shorts/video thumbnails and titles are all cramped together, AI summary/transcription don't display properly, description buttons are messed up, font and button placement is odd everywhere else, timestamps barely display over video thumbnails, Share button doesn't work, More button doesn't work in descriptions, tab icons aren't visible and text is cut off, none of this is even visible in dark mode as it cannot be used at all (all text is black over dark gray background), premium upselling sometimes displays on initialization - and on top of all that, until very recently it wasn't possible to play videos beyond the 1:10min mark

Hey do you think someone could help me out here? I'm kind of stumped.

I previously installed on my first-generation iPad (iOS 6) by using SundanceInH2A and everything was working pretty well. It worked as expected. I wanted to install some games and some apps and what happened was that I was moving some files around and I used the FTP server created by iFile. I copied the IPA file from my computer so I could install it using the IPA installer from Cydia. I copied the file over and put it in the root directory So I moved that to the downloads folder. It was like 500 MB or so. and then I went to the IPA installer and for some reason it said it said it couldn't access the mobile folder. that's strange.

I decided to go, to Cydia and I can find another app to try and install the IPA but then the problem was that I opened Cydia and it crashed. It didn't open so I rebooted the device and it permanently got stuck on the Apple logo and progress bar, as if it were trying to do an updatI didn't know what to do. I was thinking, oh maybe I can just redo that installation but I decided to do a SSH ramdisk using legacy iOS kit and I was able to successfully get in. I could see all my files; I can access everything, fortunately. I deleted the files which I suspected were causing problems and that didn't work so then I iresorted to running fsck_hfs on the system disk and successfully managed to find an issue and fixed it. Now when I exited SSH mode, I cleared the NVRAM and rebooted and it seems to be stuck on Recovery Mode. Any suggestions to get this to work?

I also tried running fsck_hfs on the user disk but that didn't seem to work. I guess what matters at least is the system disc if that was able to be repaired. It just seems that the iPad is detecting something's wrong and thinks it's safer to just go to recovery mode instead of trying to boot normally.

What I'm actually doing is pretty advanced so unfortunately I wasn't able to fix it but I figured something out to be able to fix the bricked iPad. What I did was I restored in pwnedDFU the modified IPSW, which brings me back to iOS 6.1.3, I believe. What I did is I installed everything I needed that I knew wouldn't brick the device. I basically went into the SSH ramdisk and dumped the whole system and user partitions. If anything goes wrong I can just image that back and it should be back to normal.

@left kernel I’m sure IPG will correct me, but no iOS 10 jailbreak tool has the ability to restore rootfs. So you can’t unjailbreak and update OTA, you have to use iTunes

You can back up all your data with iTunes, but keep in mind jailbreak files will be backed up too, and some apps with jailbreak detection will block you
