Without knowing more specifics, it will be hard to answer, but I'd guess this isn't really a matter of harder, just being less familiar.

Since SLD is all the same concepts as OBS, it operates the same, just things are in slightly different places sometimes.

I wouldn't stress too much about the transition, if you're looking for or having trouble finding or doing something efficiently, the support channels are usually pretty good at helping you out!

hello, I downloaded the win audio plug in and its not showing up in obs.. also for some reason game capture stopped working... I recently had to reinstall OBS... due to it crashing .. I have an AMD card and think that it wasnt encoding properly .. rolled back to previous version on the drivers.

1. Uninstall SE.Live
2. Uninstall OBS Studio (make sure that "User Settings" is not selected)
3. Install OBS Studio again from https://obsproject.com/
   Your settings will be saved unless you have selected to delete them during removal.

Heya 🙂 I have just installed Advanced Scene Switcher plugin. I watched a video on YT which showed a load of options I don't seem to have. In the vid it showed 18 tabs across the top but I only have 4. Might this be because I only have Win7 ? Thanks

Yes. Right now, if the second file plays before the first is over, neither of them play.

If I time it so the second plays after the first is finished, it works fine.

Basically I have music that I want to start halfway through the opening clip.

Heya 🙂 Another question regarding Advanced Scene Switcher - This is probably a little much to ask of it !! I have one mic but 2 audio inputs on every scene. 1 of them is set normally BUT is also boosted on the Advanced Audio Settings. The other is set exactly the same except with a 600ms delay for when I am VTubing so the audio matches up with the visuals. Is there a way to (in effect) click the EYE button on all the scenes at once so from a single click I can switch ALL scenes to either use 1 mic setup or the other please ? I have been hunting through the options but haven't spotted anything as yet. Thanks

there may be a cleaner way but this is what comes to mind immediately:

1. create a dummy source like an image or something, hide it behind your other sources so it isn't visible
2. set a macro that if it is visible>disable mic 1 for all and enable mic 2 for all
3. set a marcro that if it isn't visible>enable mic 1 for all and disable mic 2 for all

toggling that single source will be all you need to do

Hello, I guess this subject has already been mentioned but... how come on the "OBS Studio 28 Plugin Compatibility" page it says that the obs-websocket and Stream Deck plugins are compatible with 28.0, while OBS does not support them ? Thanks !

obs-websocket is compatible with obs 28, since it is now builtin, you don't need to install any plugin.

Touch Portal works with OBS v28 and integrated websocket, no additional compat plugin needed. Only issue so far is when a user has a incompatible OBS plugin, or a VST plugin causing errors. Remove the incompatible plugin/filter, TP works fine.

@verbal mantle at 57k followers you look like a fairly big streamer; I would definitely not update your main streaming PC to OBS 28 until you have worked out all of the issues.
You could try a side-by-side install of installing OBS 28 to a different folder.

it's no problem! these are all just typical growing pains of a new big update. there are workarounds to use ASIO drivers on OBS v28 but it's a little complicated.

ASIO itself has licensing issues due to Steinberg/Yamaha, which is why it's a 3rd-party plug-in instead of built into OBS proper. We know it's a priority for a lot of people, so it's being investigated.

There is a plugin (name escapes me) for doing arbitrary audio channel mapping with regular WASAPI instead of ASIO, but I'll have to go looking into it.

The pro audio people are best off on v27.2 for now...

Voicemeeter certainly has its issues for sure, plus ASIO4ALL really shouldn't be used unless you've got a soundcard that doesn't have native ASIO support and you've got a DAW that needs ASIO (and it can add delay, etc...).

There is the Rematrix plugin to punt around audio channels inside OBS, which helps, but it hasn't been updated in years.

What I do, is make symbolic links from my OBS portable install dirs into the system OBS directory where things like Elgato toss their DLLs, so that when they upgrade them down the line it updates in all my portable installs without requiring me to do anything.

The stream deck isn't working because you forgot the part where I needed to reinstall the software before implementing the plugin update.

No, it isn't. In fact, that's entirely wrong. That link only offers basically the patch that allows the OBS software to run with the new update - it isn't actually an install file that allows the Stream Deck to work. I just manually re-downloaded Stream Deck software and reinstalled.

you presumably still have an old "StreamDeckPlugin.dll" remaining somewhere. Delete any folder/file mentioning streamdeck in the obs-plugins folder and subfolders and reinstall the plugin

File search is resulting in no other additional "StreamDeckPlugin.dll" files installed anywhere else, so I'm going to give this one more shot before rating this the worst OBS update of all time.

The process I'm going with as follows

->Manually unistalled all El Gato programs related to Stream Deck

streamdeckplugin not connecting and reporting it needs to be removed or updated on starting OBS, this in log making me thing it's an issue of a double install of the plugin where only one gets updated
