the drive dial on my camera started acting up. it would change modes rapidly on its own between continuous modes, video, single shot, etc... when so much as slightly touching the entire dial assembly, making the camera unusable. poking around online, it looked like a classic oxidized contact problem. I was a bit sketched out spraying the contact cleaner in there, but I just tried to be careful with covering the rest of the camera with paper towel to keep the optical parts clean of any stray droplets, used a minimal amount of contact cleaner, and everything worked out fine

Autoplay blocking is kind of hit and miss. I think some JS libraries can trigger the playback if you've clicked anywhere on the page. Adverts DGAF and will find the most resource-intensive way to avoid platform standards to autoplay video regardless, occasionally even autoplaying audio.

And many web things don't test autoplay block compliance since Chrome (and Edge, I think?) don't even let you block autoplay IIRC.

(Yet another conflict of interest between Google, a dominant adtech company, also dominating the browser space with Chrome and thus strong-arming the web platform with "if you want users, you gotta get them through Chrome.")

Multistreaming isn't that important for growth anyways. What is helpful is putting up content on other platforms than where you stream. So stream to Twitch, which is still #1 for streaming engagement, and make YT videos to sttract eyeballs outside if that. Maybe Shorts and TikTok too.

Almost all of the streamers I watch regularly, I found on YT first.

If you want growth, making friends on the platform (meeting other streamers) and not trying to hype your channel until the other streamers ask if you stream, that's a very slow path but it's a reliable one.

If you want profitable growth Streaming just isn't the way. Take @full fern 's advice and make YouTube videos and/or Shorts about the kinds of games you play to showcase who you are or what you have to say and those are the things that will net you more folks, still very slowly (unless you have HBomberguy energy or something)

None of that requires multistreaming or even 4K / 60fps quality, you can get a LOT of mileage out of 720 at 30fps

I think this is both a non-issue and also intentional behavior when someone would like to provide an easy factoid answer without signing up for further conversation.

That said, if it makes you feel better, type something after the trigger so your message sticks. It's a more personal touch that explicitly shows the user someone triggered the bot and is offering to help, not to mention tends to steer clear of the instinctual "I want help from a real person not a bot" reply.

Our power is pretty bad here. 90% above ground lines. The city / county can't get any contractors in to trim the trees away from the lines. Area is prone to high winds and hurricaines. Been through too many days without power.

It's just that there is this 6-8 month period after launch where everyone for some reason decides that their old GPU is suddenly not good enough and pulls out their credit card to pay a 25% premium on a new GPU

tho the 80 series cards for nvidia did get more expensive

I bought my 7800XT last year for under MSRP.

everyone waits for the newest shiny thing and then complains that the prices are too high or everything is out of stock. ofc it's that way. retailers and manufacturers are taking advantage of the high demand and increase pricing. I'd rather buy right before a new launch because everyone is trying to get rid of the old gen hardware. that's what I did with the 7800XT

Only time i run full color range is on my capture cards input and if the game i am playing is very dark in general, like horror games and such. That way viewers can see in the darkness better.

It makes a huge difference for the readability of the game in those cases, and id rather the viewers be able to see what is in the shadows.

They arent the ones playing it after all, and the ability for them to see whats about to freak me out is a net positive in my book
