wat the heck.. in my left ear, 12.5khz sounds QUIETER than 12.75khz.. in my right ear, it sounds LOUDER as I would assume it should be...
I even tried using the same headphone side on both ears to make sure one side wasn't tuned differently and that's why it was happening.. nope...

This is why I like soundcore earbuds. They have this feature called HearID that basically creates a custom EQ that boosts the frequencies you don't hear very well independently in each ear based on a short hearing test that it makes you take while wearing them so that you can hear everything properly and all of the sound is equalized and evenly leveled in both ears

And the EQ is saved to the earbuds themselves so it applies to whatever you're connecting them to and does not require you to have an app on a smartphone or anything after the fact

My machine couldn't handle Prime95 AVX at my overclocked + undervolted settings without reining in AVX somehow. Too much current I suspect was hitting some hard over-current protection limit and giving me BSOD's.
AVX is very current-intensive compared to other instructions at same wattage on my machine. Couple that with an undervolt and you need an unreasonably low wattage or clock limit to rein in the AVX, not worth it. A current limit is the only lever I had to bonk only the AVX workflows into submission without turning a lot of the automagical stuff intel bakes into the platform for managing voltages and boost clocks and such. (If you try to lower the AVX multiplier, it requires some fixed offset from your max boost clock, which disables a lot of the default V/F curves for AVX, which defeats my purpose of just telling AVX to calm down and act normal.)
I don't really care about AVX day-to-day, it's neat that it exists and is making a few workloads faster, but it's not a factor I worry about for most workflows, unless/until it's giving me BSODs, at which point I just need it to kind of chill out a bit. So long as I can push the system hard in CPU encodes without BSOD-ing or other instability, I do not care how much I have to bonk the AVX to do that.

Hot take: Ray Tracing isn't necessarily better than non-Ray-Traced lighting. It just depends on how well the art direction works with it and if the appearance makes sense for the atmosphere the game is trying to establish. Artists have to spend time making each look right, and if they are stretched thin they are probably going to half-ass one of the two lighting approaches. As long as the art style is good (and doesn't get in the way of playing the game, I guess), that's what I'd call "good lighting"... (Maybe not that hot of a take, but my 2 cents.)

Ray tracing is simply a lighting model that is more physics-accurate. That doesn't mean that the graphics it produces will be seen as superior in every case to every person however. Realistic lighting may visually look better or more interesting, or it may look worse, or it might just look different but neither better or worse. It's really intended to be more accurate lighting, not better lighting, but more accurate lighting does tend to often look better overall.

Take Cyberpunk 2077 for example, with Ray Tracing enabled at night downtown after a rain, all the lights glowing and reflecting off the street looks amazing with RT, however drive off road in the Badlands in broad daylight and you'll be hard pressed to see ray tracing doing anything at all.

I'm personally not interested in RayTraced lighting/shadows.
I'm someone who is ok with using the medium preset for shadows in games and traditional methods of lighting. It looks good enough to me and allows me to enjoy what I'm seeing and more importantly stay focused on the game lol.

What I do like with RT though is reflections. Especially in games where it makes a lot of sense to have them like in Spider-Man where a lot of the big skyscrapers are just pure glass, having proper reflections as you swing by them just adds that extra little bit of muwah

I was a genius at one point in my life.
There's this streamer that I now occasionally mod for (didn't at the time) who in the past was using the clips feature of doing shoutouts where you do an !so command for a user then it pulls one of their clips from their channel at random and plays it on stream.
Thing is, since it's such a small community with only like maybe 20 of us at most who are ever in chat, one of the mods there just does !so for pretty much everybody that shows up in chat.

Well, I decided to go and clear out any old clips I happened to have, did a live stream where I started with a black screen for a little bit then played the Rick Astley video, then clipped it at the longest length I could, then titled it "Best Clip Of All Time" or something stupid like that, and the thumbnail for it was that black starting screen and then I waited. 🙃

It was a glorious moment.
Shortly after she stopped doing the clips. But not because of me. It was because of copyright music and stuff from other clips it just happened to be the right timing to make it seem like it was partly my fault lol.
