the magic will depend on shutter speed, sometimes the cameras do automatic dark frame subtraction when slower than a certain shutter speed. but mostly the magic is just how CMOS sensors work

a lot of non-canon cameras also do spatial filtering, I think Sony's is the worst

Fuji is also a culprit, Nikon has reimplemented their algorithm to not be as destructive to stars with their newer cameras

depends on what you're doing. OBS does not need much if you have modern machine with GPU encoding

I'd say unless you're doing CPU encoding, then its probably more GPU heavy (even if it is not very much, if you've got basic setup)

It's impossible to "reach" people while live unless you already have a following. On either platform. That being said, I see lots of people live streaming on YT and gaining concurrent views because they have discoverable content when they are offline. YT videos, short form content, IG, etc. A lot also depends on the content itself. IRL live content does real well on YT, if they have good marketing of discoverable content.

Every freaking morning.

I remember during my childhood that I met a large group of people with PhDs. Apparently the "light transport research" as a profession, is rather welcoming. A lot of them took the time to teach me about scientific rigor, and I'd be nowhere with video encoding without that.

By luck, it also exposed me early on to how to work with extremely precise data. We were regurarly doing stuff with 128-bit and higher images.

Was required. I think most of my work ended up at 256-bit, but I remember briefly messing with 512-bit. I was doing QA for them and had to learn how to handle this stuff and translate it into values that displays can show, and do this in a way that it's self didn't invalidate the data (and thus fire false bad QA readings). It's very non-trivial.

It was marketing. The console would've been faster if they didn't include 64-bit at all. However, the jump from 8 to 16-bit was huge in consumers' eyes, and from 16 to 32 was also huge, so marketing thought that they could ride this if they sold their console as 64-bit just to make it appeal to consumers.

Well, it wasn't. It was the loader for the driver that mounted it to a drive letter. Close enough, though. There were actually other versions that were not mscdex for things like Creative's proprietary DVD-ROM that used a non-standard IDE connector to plug into their DXR2 hardware MPEG2 decoder card.
