Performance Issues with Streamlabs During Live Streaming
I am experiencing significant performance issues while using Streamlabs for live streaming compared to other similar software. My system specifications are as follows:
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 Pro 4650G
RAM: 16GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA RTX 3060 12GB
Despite having decent hardware, I notice that my PC becomes noticeably slower and struggles during live broadcasts. I have tested other streaming programs on the same system, and they seem to perform more efficiently.
I have tried basic troubleshooting, such as updating drivers and optimizing Streamlabs settings, but the issue persists. Could you please guide me on how to resolve this or suggest any specific settings for my hardware?

if by other streaming programs you mean obs-studio, you are correct, streamlabs desktop has noticeably higher cpu usage and kernel cpu usage, there's no fixing that
@full onyx you can use all of streamlabs' services with obs-studio, some of them qill require installing their plugin

@covert rose see if you can enable "DSR" in nvidia control panel; tick a few options, see if one of them is 1920x1080 or higher
after that, you should be able to run and record games at 1920x1080 (might have to run it in a window); it will look worse for you, but videos will look better for viewers

@covert rose enable 1.20x and 1.50x DSR, hit Apply, then switch to the "change resolution" tab and set a higher resolution for the display you want to game on, then run a game in windowed mode and try to set its resolution to 1920x1080

Hi there! If Facebook is your "primary" platform, then it can't be unlinked. However, you can do one of two things:

1. Reach out to our team to request an account deletion: https://support.streamlabs.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

2. Add a Streamlabs ID to your account, then you should be able to unlink your Facebook after. To do this, go to this page here: https://streamlabs.com/dashboard#/settings/account-settings/platforms and click "Set-up Streamlabs ID" towards the top-right corner. Once you set up a Streamlabs ID, you should be able to refresh your page > unmerge Facebook.

I see you have both Stripe and PayPal Business enabled. PayPal Business allows you to accept CC payments, so you don't actually need both, and it can cause some issues. I'd advise waiting for your Stripe balance to become available, withdrawl it, then remove it and only leave Business PayPal. You will still be able to accept the same payment methods.

I have figured out that I need a new capture card. I want to capture the native resolution of my 38" LG monitor which is 3840x1600. Can someone recommend a capture card for doing that? I see Elgato has several that would allow 4k, but can the capture card downgrade to my resolution? The reason that I am doing this is that right now I am using NDI to capture my monitor to my stream PC via IP. The reason I don't stick with that is that my mouse movements are shown on the display capture.

Fast movement in any game will cause that. I would suggest that you drop the Output Resolution from 1920x1080 to 1280x720. That will give the 6000 bitrate more room to work.

What the viewer sees will never look like exactly what you see on your monitor. For Twitch and their max bitrate of 6000, the best settings are 720p60.

There's not much you can do. Fast movement or when its dark, pixelation will occur. The stream is never going to be exactly what you see locally on your monitor.

Those settings are fine. There's nothing really anything else you can do. Just learn to live with it. Spend your time enoying the game and the stream. Endlessly tweaking settings will never make the stream look exactly like your monitor.

Since tickets can only be worked by the staff, and us Volunteers are not Streamlabs employees, I don't have acccess to that system and therefore I cannot give you an estimated time when your ticket will reach the top of the pile.

hi I'm having an issue where streamlabs is not routing sound correctly - I am using a different headset today and cannot hear my alerts. I have even tested it where I am trying to hear myself but changing the mic to monitor and output but still nothing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, checked the global settings to ensure that the audio monitoring is set to the right headset, etc.

Anyone know a fix for this? I've been troubleshooting for about two hours now and can't think of anything else to do.

@slim sparrow if they're registered as usb audio devices, that's fine, but if they're registered as bluetooth devices, they can't be used (and will stop outputting audio as soon as streamlabs desktop is launched - if that doesn't happen, they're not bluetooth)
run razer's software if you have it installed and disable anything mentioning "virtual surround" or "7.1"

Heya all. I have an issue multistreaming with Kick on Streamlabs OBS. When I try to multistream or even stream to just kick it gives me invalid URL. I did log into my Kick account, but it seems like it doesn't care about the stream key/url. I know you can do a custom entry, but then I can't get Kick chat along with others in one chat box. It does show kick though as a choice with the logged in version. And I can’t choose Kick as one of the streaming services in the setting->stream section to edit the key/url though it’s in the streaming services toggle list on the left. Even in the show all streaming services checkbox list.

No worries. A lot of people forget it’s a requirement. I feel like your streamlabs and twitch aren’t linked for your console subscription. Here is the getting started guide. The first few steps go through that. If it’s already connected, I would disconnect it, log out of streamlabs. If you’re multi streaming, then you must have an ultra subscription. I’m not sure what could be wrong. I do know that we don’t currently have the API for kick for chat, you will have to use a separate browser window for that.

Sounds like your Bitrate is either too low for your output resolution, or too high and your internet can’t keep up. What is your settings > video and your bitrare look like? What are your internet speeds (actual, not promised) Feel free to post screenshots.

I figured it out. Kick decided to try and link to my other account which for some reason I am not getting emails from Kick. So it was stuck in limbo on that account. And even though I tried to sign in with the right one, it chose the other.

I don’t foresee that happening. If you have an issue, it is looked at and troubleshooted either here with community support or via a ticket. There are no requirements for an ultra subscription to use either of those support services. Did you have an issue with a feature in Streamlabs that required an ultra subscription to utilize. Then they can’t troubleshoot that. Hi there! Every time I go live from streamlabs my status indicator shows dropped frames. I know it isn't something related to my net speed as I am running stable 200mbps, my computer runs relatively smooth 90% of the time, it isn't streamlabs as it occurs with OBS streaming as well, and it isn't based in YouTube as streaming to twitch yields the same results. After about a solid minute live the dropped frames stablises at around 64%. By using the record button no frames are dropped either. I have tried disabling dual output, which changes nothing, and I have contacted my network provider in case of an issue with the connection on their end. Alongside this, I have tried the recommended suggestion of switching off of the auto server, however this option is only available via the "dropped frames over the last 2 minutes" notification, and when I select a different server and return to the option after going live again, it has changed back to the auto server. I also cannot find the server changing option via settings. That's everything I know! Hopefully this makes it easy to narrow down :)

Please run this twitch test tool to find out the best server (https://r1ch.net/projects/twitchtest). Be sure to run the test for either Medium or Long, as short won't give you the most accurate results and be sure to select your region from the listed options (if the regions are not applicable to you, please select 5-6 servers that are near you). You're looking for at least a quality of 84.
Once you've found a good server go to Settings > Stream > Stream to custom ingest and you can manually select your server.

this could also be your HD which you are running whatever game or software from being too slow. Or it could be your gpu or cpu being too slow. I have 400/400 speed an nvidia 3080 and skylake i5 cpu and i drop frames when streaming marvel rivals. Some games are not optimized. Upgrading or running slobs off second computer might help or running in performance mode.

hi, I also use Streamlabs to record cam videos locally on my pc and then put them online. Today I had a problem with my microphone: while listening back to the recording I just made, I noticed that in some passages the volume of my voice suddenly drops until it disappears, then it picks up again in a hiccup. In short, a very bad audio recording. I did some tests to figure out the problem:

• the microphone is selected and set correctly
• RNNoise and the Noise Gate filter is set for noise reduction
• I changed my microphone and the problem remains the same
• I tried recording with other programs and the microphone records perfectly.
  My PC is an Intel i9 with 64GB of RAM.
  Could there be some streamlabs setting I need to check or do?

Hello, I have an issue with blurry stream quality. When I make movement in game the stream quality become blurry but if I stay still then the stream quality become crystal clear. I had try many combination of setting like ( 720p/30FPS/4000 bitrate ), (720p/60FPS/4000 bitrate), (1080p/30FPS/6000 bitrate), (1080p/60FPS/6000 bitrate), (1080/30FPS/8000 bitrate), (1080p/60FPS/8000), but they all have the same problem. 720p look blurry no matter if I make movement or no movement. The best video quality I have achieve is with 1080p/60FPS ( no movement ). Is there a fix to this issue? Thank you

Hi I am having some issues with the alert box when someone subscribe to my channel the alert box didn’t trigger. I am using the streamlabs plugin and the steps that I did to troublshoot still didn’t work.

1. Fresh install of plug-in
2. Log out and re login
3. Clear my browser cache and re login again on the plug-in
   4, run it as admin

Some YouTube subscriptions won't show due to privacy settings on the viewer's account.

When someone makes an account on YouTube, the subscribed channels are private by default. When the person subscribing to you is set to private, Streamlabs cannot see the subscription.

The viewer would need to set their subscriptions to public in YouTube's privacy settings https://www.youtube.com/account_privacy BEFORE clicking the subscribe button.

The setting on your channel (the streamer) doesn't matter.

Generally when that happens. Your connection between twitch and streamlabs needs to be refreshed.

Can I have you disconnect and reconnect your Twitch account to Streamlabs?

1. Log out of Streamlabs.com (you can use this link to force a logout https://streamlabs.com/logout) and any Streamlabs software such as Streamlabs Desktop (you can do so from the bottom left)
2. After logging out, go here: https://www.twitch.tv/settings/connections
3. Then find Streamlabs (Twitch Alerts) or Streamlabs Dashboard & click Disconnect.
4. Once you have done this, please log in to streamlabs.com or Streamlabs Desktop with your Twitch account

This will refresh your connection. However, events will not populate retroactively (so old events will not populate). However, this should resolve issues with them appearing going forward.

Hi, i wanted to run a stream on twitch, but when i wanted to choose a category and a title, there was just a button (i forgot what was exactly written but it was like "unlink something"), i thought it was to login on twitch again because i changed the password the day before, but then when i clicked on the button, streamlabs made kind of a reload and i lost all my scenes/overlays, can someone tell me what i did wrong and if i can have it all back ?

Trying to get multistream with the Stream elements live plug in. I can go straight to twitch alone without issue, but when i try to add a secondary, it gives me an error saying there is no config url for the current service. When i acknowledge the error it says my video drivers may need updating.... Made sure they were up to date and it gives the same error regardless of which secondary platform i try to use. @slim briar You need to log out of the Streamlabs web site by clicking your Profile picture and choose Log out. Also do the same on the Streamlabs Console web site if you use Console. Do those two web site log outs on every device you access the web sites with. If you use the standalone Streamlabels app, log out there as well. Finally, in Streamlabs Desktop, log out.

Then wait a few minutes and log in in Streamlabs Desktop using your new password.

Hello! I was streaming and suddenly my audio started fading in streamlabs desktop until it went to 0. increasing any audio on my PC didnt do anything.

I have already:
Deleted cache and started fresh
Reinstalled fully
Checked that all other audio devices are disabled on my PC
-Restarted PC
-Disabled audio channel and readded it on streamlabs

Audio is working fine for myself, just Streamlabs is not picking it up at all.
other apps are picking up the audio fine (OBS etc)

No. Disable Browser Hardware Acceleration: Go to the ⚙️ icon on the bottom left, locate "Advanced" and scroll down until you see "Enable Browser Source Hardware Acceleration". Untick this and then close and restart Streamlabs Desktop.

On the Streamlabs Console web site, make sure you're logging in with you Twitch and not your Streamlabs ID. Streamlabs Console perfers you log in with your Twitch directly if have just the Streamlabs Console subscription.

In Streamlabs Desktop, please log out, wait a minute, and then log back in.

Then go to Settings > Advanced > Network > Bind to IP.

If the drop-down menu is set to an IP address, change that setting to Default.

If the drop-down menu is set to Default, change it to the IP address of your computer, usually starts with 192.168 or 10.10.

After that, click Done to save the settings and then restart Streamlabs Desktop and see if you can go live.

Dual Output enable you to stream to two platforms, one horizontal and one vertical. It doesn't have the ability to set different bitrates though.

Hello, I am on youtube using streamlabs cloudbot and I set specific settings and disabled some settings. But the bot keeps moderating people even though I have disabled some settings is there something I am missing ? I did some searching and there is supposedly two settings in two different places for the cloudbot ? why not just have 1 setting globally that changes this seems like a hassle. but supposedly there is a setting online and one in the "dashboard" and you have to toggle both of them the same for it to work ? any help with this would be great.

Also even after I turned off the cloudbot it was still moderating my chat, and I even revoked its permissions. and still moderation of my chat. I think that the cloudbot is borked.

Refreshing the connection between Streamlabs and Twitch will resolve this.

NOTE 👉 This disconnect process will not go back and capture events that were missed. Events are sent over the API only once and if they are missed, they are missed forever. Going forward from once you reconnected by logging back in, Streamlabs should capture events from Twitch.

1. Log out of the Streamlabs web site on every device you access it: Click your PFP and choose Log out.

2. If you use Streamlabs Console, log out of the Streamlabs Console web site on every device you access it: Click your PFP and choose Log out.

3. If you use the standalone Streamlabels application, log out of that.

4. Log out in Streamlabs Desktop (see next post on how to do that).

Hello! Having some issues with my Mini Feed in Streamlabs, its not picking up any raids, follows, or subscriptions. BUT it was able to pick up Bit donations. My Alert Box settings are all configured correctly, it just seems like Streamlabs was not properly synced to even know these actions were occuring

I finally managed to get Streamlabs to open after deleting reinstalling and again even using revo uninstaller. Now that I got it working again my saved sources are gone. Is there a way for me to get them back? Is it saved somewhere I just need to find the right place?

Is anyone having issues with the scrolling filters? I had a working text scroll that when I tried to edit suddenly would disappear. It no longer works. So I tried creating a new text and as soon as I apply a scroll filter, the text disappears. If I hide the filter it reappears but will not scroll. Is this a bug?

If Shutdown source when not visible is checked, uncheck it. If it's already unchecked, do not check it.

Go to the Streamlabs web site https://streamlabs.com/dashboard#/recentevents, click the Live Actions tab, scroll all the way to the bottom and click the Reload Widgets button. PLEASE Don't skip this step!

Good evening guys, I have a question that I hope someone can solve. I'm helping my wife with her frames dropping while she is streaming. We've ran speed tests, disconnected devices, closed out background apps on her pc, and just about everything basic we can think of. She streams to 3 different platforms and uses wi-fi. She experiences immediate frame drops and very little signal about 20% she streams. What would be the cause of this? Would we have to contact our service provider or is this something we can fix on streamlabs' side? Currently, we are doing a test stream while being hardwired in, I moved her PC down near the modem to see if it was a distance thing but that's not the case, I then plugged a cable in and it's running just fine. I hope everything I said made sense and any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

If you hardwire her PC and her streams run fine, but they don't over wifi, then you have a wifi router issue, or a wireless NIC driver issue.

Hi there, I’m having an issue with my alert box and I’m hoping someone could help me. My alert box doesn’t work at all while I’m streaming, if I test out the widgets then they’ll work fine but as for alerting LIVE, it’s no go. As well as my mini feed not updating either. I’m not sure if the two are linked but neither of them work or update while I’m LIVE.

The thing is, is that she only runs on wifi and about 4/5 times it's fine but the times it's not is really really bad. Would that just be a router issue then?

Also, important to note, that it's only her PC having this issue. Our PS5 runs off wifi just fine.

Hello everyone, is it possible to setup multiple tracks for the streaming tracks ? As you can see on the screenshot here, when I press "recording" it works fine, it saves just my microphone on track 2, not the 2nd audio which is unchecked.

When I press "streaming", well as both [1] are checked, all my viewers and I can hear my microhpone and my 2nd audio BUT, when the VOD appears, it doesn't remove the 2nd audio, as it does when I press "recording".

Can anyone help me please to understand what is wrong with my setup ?

Were you streaming to Twitch? If so, you need to make sure you have VOD Storage enabled on your channel: https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/video-on-demand?language=en_US#enabling. If VOD Storage is not enabled on your Twitch channel, the VOD will not be saved once you end your live stream and there is no way to recover that VOD if VOD Storage was not enabled.

Itll only show my video vertical and not horizontal. How do i change it to horizontal so people can see my stream better.

Streamlabs Console is a paid subscription service.

You would need to log into the Streamlabs Console site, click your PFP in the upper right, choose Account Settings, then scroll down and choose either the Monthly or Annual plan.

Some YouTube subscriptions won't show due to privacy settings on the viewer's account.

When someone makes an account on YouTube, the subscribed channels are private by default. When the person subscribing to you is set to private, Streamlabs cannot see the subscription.

The viewer would need to set their subscriptions to public in YouTube's privacy settings https://www.youtube.com/account_privacy BEFORE clicking the subscribe button.

The setting on your channel (the streamer) doesn't matter.

Because Windows Update often re-numerated device ID numbers making the previous selection invalid. It's a Windows Update issue and not a Streamlabs Desktop issue.

Anybody having issues after switching to an RTX 50? I'm getting regular frame drops at even intervals. After messing with it forever, I found that removing Wavelink as a source fixed it, but then as soon as I do audio processing in SLOBS instead of Wavelink, the frame drops came back after I enable a few effects, none of them being VSTs. I hadn't changed any settings other than DDU and new graphics driver with NVCleanInstall. I've changed a lot of settings trying to figure it out though. It doesn't seem to matter what quality settings, resolution, or encoder I use. I'm far from being overloaded on CPU or GPU. I'm assuming there is some audio setting that may be off. Also, I have my audio sample rate at 48khz, all track's bitrate set to 320 and my interface is set to 24bit/48khz. I tried the low latency audio setting on and off. I'm not having this problem in regular OBS install or OBS portable.
