Yeah, Windows adds that to let you know that window is being recorded. It can't be disabled on Windows 10 but Windows 11 allows you to disable it.

Quiting Streamlabs Desktop
Hit the Windows key + R
Paste the following and hit enter: %appdata%/slobs-client/plugin_config/obs-browser

Launch Streamlabs Desktop

That's been broken on both Streamlabs Desktop and OBS Studio on Mac for a while. Best solution would be use Window Capture and select the web browser and get logged in before starting the stream or recording.

I see your Twitch linked there at the bottom left.

HOWEVER, to install and on-board Streamlabs Music, you would need to log out and log in with your Twitch AND NOT your Streamlabs ID. Some things are picky about what account you're logged in with. I get that your Streamlabs ID is linked to your Streamlabs account that has Twitch merged, but Streamlabs ID is not a platform. 😉

Hello, I wanted to ask about a potential issue with one of my features that was working before but isn't anymore. When my live stream would disconnect due to a loss of connection, it used to end. However, something had changed, and I was able to resume my live stream, continuing from the same VOD I was on, without it being counted as if the stream had ended—this applied to both YouTube and Twitch since I do multistreaming.

But suddenly, a bug appeared where, when I resumed the stream, the Twitch stream would come back completely muted. Now, this option isn't working anymore. Since it started working on its own before, I don't know how to enable it again or how to fix the issue of Twitch coming back without sound. Could someone help me figure out, first, how to re-enable this feature and, second, how to solve the no-sound issue on Twitch?

Anyone know about how to accept cookies on Streamlabs chat windows please ? The message is too big/large and i can't accept it...

For the cookies issue: Theres a few possible solutions for this that should help resolve the issue

1. Log out of Streamlabs Desktop and go to Twitch.tv and go to your channel and open up the chat. There should be a cookies acceptance there and accept then log back into Streamlabs Desktop. If there isn't then go ahead and log back into Streamlabs Desktop and check once more.

2. Open up the chat on Streamlabs Desktop with the little arrow top right or left then see if the acceptance for cookies is there and accept

3. Create a website element by going to Streamlabs Desktop > bottom left > hit the 4 squares > replace one of your current components with "website element" then type in Twitch.tv/(usernamehere) > save changes top right and go to your channel to accept cookies. The yellow border is apart of Windows 10 capture hook to tell you that window is being recorded. It cannot be disabled or turned off. You can try using DXDGI for capture method within the Window source capture settings but that may give you a black screen.

Hey all, I signed up for the trial and can broadcast from my xbox; All I seem to get is the image border (mystic theme). Initially when I load the scene, it shows my cam but only for about 5 seconds, then it freezes, and subsequent attempts to show it say "could not start video source". I'm an Overwatch streamer, I stream from my XBox Series X via Streamlabs Console to Twitch.

When I started streaming, all voice audios would work and show up on Twitch (my voice, in game voice, group voice, game voice). Everything worked no matter if I was in group or solo.

I changed nothing, that I know of, in my settings... now I'm the ONLY voice the streams to Twitch.

I play with people on both Xbox and PS5 in the console pool, so using XBL party chat wouldn't be an opinion. That being said, we've tried to stream with the party chat just with XB friends, it still wouldn't stream their voices, only mine.

Yes, I did check my Xbox privacy settings, everything is listed as open/allowed... but that didn't help anything.

My stream is boring enough as is, but without hearing my friends mocking my gameplay, it's soooo much worse.

Help! What can I try next to fix this? And feel free to talk to me like I'm an idiot. It may be something simple, I just want to fix it.

i have been having an issue ever since halloween where i am just dropping frames on SLOBS. never had the issue before and I can't figure out why. I have tried running as an administrator. closing other programs if opened in the background. i have used my task manager to ensure nothing was using cpu or memory. i have reduced my bit rate and video settings. i have done clean ups, disk defrags, and a whole system restore on my pc. I've also made exclusions to folders in windows firewall. I thought it was even my internet so I had a new router shipped to me and then switch my plan to the highest unlimited plan available and it keeps happening. I can't figure this out and it's been 2 months now, please someone help me. I can't even stream anymore. I use my pc to stream and play games on my ps5.

MacOS: multistream yt/twitch. twitch stream works, YT creates broadcast but never goes live. Or the multistream will fail and the twitch stream never happens, but the yt broadcast stays in "upcoming" until I delete it in the studio. Any ideas?

if you change your twitch name it should auto update when you relog. otherwise if you have an account created with that name before linking it to streamlabs you can connect it and the URL will be available in creator sites > link settings > primary site url (https://streamlabs.com/dashboard#/creator-sites#/link-settings)

Make sure the source is not locked. Hover over the source in the Source Selector to see if its locked. If its locked, click the lock to unlock it and then you should be able to move it.

Also go into the Layout Editor and make sure you have the Editor Display. If in the Layout Editor, you have the Stream Preview, swap it out for the Editor Display.

Having issues logging in/the login button is unresponsive?
Your default browser in Windows is causing issues with logging into Streamlabs Desktop. The login popup relies on the default browser set in Windows, so you won't be able to log in if it's blocked. Follow these steps to fix it:

1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard or go bottom left and click the Windows logo.
2. Search for "default apps". It may be different in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
3. Find the default apps section and close Streamlabs Desktop
4. Change your default browser to a new browser. For example, if you're currently on Chrome, you'll want to change it to Edge or Firefox. (Screenshot for reference: https://prnt.sc/48ZdLCQCgi8D)
5. Once you've changed this, reopen Streamlabs Desktop and see if the same issue occurs when attempting to log in.

Hey folks, sorry if this has come up before- did a quick look back via search but didn't find a fix: I'm running into issues trying to merge my Youtube account so I can multistream with Twitch. I haven't had any issues on the Twitch side, but when I try and merge Youtube I'm asked for login credentials, input those, then get a error from Google that says "400. That’s an error. The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know". The login/email for the YT acct I'm trying to merge isn't the same as the email for my Streamlabs ID, so I'm curious if that's the issue and if there's a workaround. I was able to input the stream key and URL manually as a source, and broadcast that way, but I think that requires that I go live via a browser and then go live on Streamlabs desktop- it doesn't seem like I can just hit "go live" and start playing, using that method. If it helps- I'm on Windows 10, using Streamlabs Desktop and Firefox, and have successfully broadcast to Twitch with no issues. Thanks in advance if anyone knows a solve!

Please enable all audio tracks then go back and uncheck and recheck track 6, which is what Twitch Soundtrack used.

If you still have issues, manually create a new Scene Collection and rebuild your scenes and sources from scratch and then setup your Twitch VOD track channels in the new scene collection. Twitch Soundtrack is known for permanently breaking audio in scene collections where it was used.

Hello, i just bought Streamlabs Ultra for multistreaming. My question is, does it take more bandwith than a single stream? Isn't the streamlabs server splitting the streams and handling the upload? Am i doing something wrong? Single stream works without any problems.

@raven charm streamlabs' paid restreaming service only requires one upload, but the internet is a complex web of physical connections, having a good connection to one rtmp server (say, twitch's) doesn't guarantee you will also have a good connection to every other rtmp server, like streamlabs'; if it's reporting dropped frames, ask about it here and/or with a support ticket

Some YouTube subscriptions won't show due to privacy settings on the viewer's account.

When someone makes an account on YouTube, the subscribed channels are private by default. When the person subscribing to you is set to private, Streamlabs cannot see the subscription.

The subscriber would need to set their subscriptions to public in YouTube's privacy settings https://www.youtube.com/account_privacy BEFORE clicking the subscribe button.

The setting on your channel (the streamer) doesn't matter.

Streamlabs Console is a paid subscription service.

You would need to log into the Streamlabs Console site, click your PFP in the upper right, choose Account Settings, then scroll down and choose either the Monthly or Annual plan.

Streamlabs Console is also included in our Streamlabs Ultra subscription. If you're using Streamlabs Console this way, please make sure you set up your Streamlabs ID then log into the Streamlabs Console with your Streamlabs ID rather than your Twitch.

Either one of those options will start your 7 day free trial; cancel before the end of that 7 day period to avoid getting charged for the first term you select.

Refreshing the connection between Streamlabs and YouTube will resolve this.

NOTE 👉 This disconnect process will not go back and capture events that were missed. Events are sent over the API only once and if they are missed, they are missed forever. Going forward from once you reconnected by logging back in, Streamlabs should capture events from Twitch.

1. Log out of the Streamlabs web site on every device you access it: Click your PFP and choose Log out.

2. If you use Streamlabs Console, log out of the Streamlabs Console web site on every device you access it: Click your PFP and choose Log out.

3. If you use the standalone Streamlabels application, log out of that.

4. Log out in Streamlabs Desktop (see next post on how to do that).

5. Follow this guide: https://streamlabs.com/content-hub/post/how-to-disconnect-your-streamlabs-account. Just follow the section for YouTube.

6. Navigate back to the Streamlabs web site and log in with your YouTube. This re-establishes the connection. You can verify this by going back to https://www.twitch.tv/settings/connections, scrolling down to Other Connections and examine the Streamlabs connection. It should say "Connected a few minutes ago" other short period of time.

7. 👉 IMPORTANT: Once you have completed the guide, go back to the Streamlabs web site https://streamlabs.com/dashboard#/recentevents, click the Live Actions tab, scroll all the way to the bottom and click the Reload Widgets button. PLEASE Don't skip this step!

8. Log back in to all the other Streamlabs products you use.

REMEMBER, this process will not go back and capture events that were missed.

Morning! Having an issue I've never had before.

Last night I turned on my stream and subs started coming in, but I could only see them on the twitch activity feed in regular OBS. I didn't get an alert for them. I checked the recent activity in streamlabs and they weren't there. Other alerts like follows were working fine though. I've disconnected and reconnected twitch and streamlabs, and refreshed all of my widgets along with repasting a new link in the browser source.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Exactly, so you're right about that! The old events won't come through unfortunately. I do see you're live, and one of the steps I was going to try would temporarily "refresh" your chatbox widget/clear it from your screen.

The yellow border is apart of Windows 10 capture hook to tell you that window is being recorded. It cannot be disabled or turned off. You can try using DXDGI for capture method within the Window source capture settings but that may give you a black screen.

For Windows 11, you can disable the yellow border: To disable the yellow border on windows 11, in windows settings, Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Screenshot borders
make sure everything there is on.

Log out of the Streamlabs Console web site by clicking your PFP and choose Logout. Also fdo the same with the main Streamlabs website. Then on the main Streamlabs web site, log in using your new Twitch name. That updates the system. Then log back in the Streamlabs Console web site with your new Twitch.

Hello everyone, I am having an issue and wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else. So i have almost 35K followers on tiktok and my streams usually do decent. After starting to stream with streamlabs i noticed a huge drop in viewers and couldnt figure the reason until my wife told me she wasnt getting notified that I was live but she did some digging and found my live stream was going into the "creator showcase" instead of my main profile somehow. Hi guys, I'm having this problem: When I launch streaming among the sources to which I send my live broadcast (I'm an ultra gold user) there is also Youtube. I've been using it for years without problems but for a few days I launch the live broadcast and it gives me an error (I haven't touched anything, I always use the same configuration and my internet line is FTTH so no problem). The error is a generic red dot with an X in the center. Do you know if it's a known problem? or is it my problem? Obviously by closing the live broadcast and starting a new one after a few seconds the problem doesn't reoccur.

Currently the integration we have with TikTok is only available through Streamlabs Desktop. It’s not yet available in Streamlabs Mobile as TikTok hasn’t made that available to us yet. This means you’ll be unable to stream to TikTok with Streamlabs Mobile.

(Youtube account merge Error 400) - Following up here with the solve from the Support team, which fixed my bug (thanks again!). What solved my issue was opening a web browser, clearing the cache, and doing a fresh login to Streamlabs via the website (not the desktop application). From there I was able to link the Youtube account as expected, which then appeared in Streamlabs Desktop and behaved as normal. Hope this helps!

Refreshing the connection between Streamlabs and Twitch will resolve this.

NOTE 👉 This disconnect process will not go back and capture events that were missed. Events are sent over the API only once and if they are missed, they are missed forever. Going forward from once you reconnected by logging back in, Streamlabs should capture events from Twitch.

1. Log out of the Streamlabs web site on every device you access it: Click your PFP and choose Log out.

2. If you use Streamlabs Console, log out of the Streamlabs Console web site on every device you access it: Click your PFP and choose Log out.

3. If you use the standalone Streamlabels application, log out of that.

4. Log out in Streamlabs Desktop (see next post on how to do that).

5. Follow this guide: https://streamlabs.com/content-hub/post/how-to-disconnect-your-streamlabs-account. Just follow the section for Twitch.

6. Navigate back to the Streamlabs web site and log in with your Twitch. This re-establishes the connection. You can verify this by going back to https://www.twitch.tv/settings/connections, scrolling down to Other Connections and examine the Streamlabs connection. It should say "Connected a few minutes ago" other short period of time.

7. IMPORTANT: Once you have completed the guide, go back to the Streamlabs web site https://streamlabs.com/dashboard#/recentevents, click the Live Actions tab, scroll all the way to the bottom and click the Reload Widgets button. PLEASE Don't skip this step!

8. Log back in to all the other Streamlabs products you use.

REMEMBER, this process will not go back and capture events that were missed.

Hey Streamlabs homies,
Man is this platform awesome yet has overwhelming Ui. I’m starting to grasp it all but have a few uncertainties still.

I’ve tested a conference podcast with talk studio and all my audio/video worked. What I had trouble with was finding my recording (talk studio could really use a tab that says “recordings” instead of going through settings to get there on a separate browser tab) . Once I found my recordings and wanted to edit them in video editor they show up in “supporting assets” but it’s baked as one track instead of split out into separate video/screen record (it was a local recording).
Can you explain what the whole local recording deal is, and if it’s local does it save somewhere on my computer because I don’t see it anywhere. Thanks!!

Hey I'm having an issue where the application audio capture feature breaks whenever I close the app or if i close audio source. For example, if i play a game and shut down the game or streamlabs application audio capture won't work if I restart the game or streamlabs. Is there a known fix for this?

I think these things routinely happen when Twitch needs re-authorizing, but also if a user changes their email, 2FA, username, password, or gains Twitch Affiliate/Partner, this issue will likely occur again. Make sure that the Chatbox Widget is higher in the source list than any capture method, otherwise its 'hidden' underneath.

Also disable Browser Hardware Acceleration: Go to the ⚙️ icon on the bottom left, locate "Advanced" and scroll down until you see "Enable Browser Source Hardware Acceleration". Untick this and then close and restart your Streamlabs Desktop App.

Twitch or YouTube? Do you mean the embedded chat dock (chat viewable by you the streamer inside Streamlabs Desktop) or the Chatbox Widget (make chat appear on stream)

For YouTube, you have to be live with a Public stream. Chat on YouTube won't work with Private or Unlisted streams.

A corrupted scene or source can cause this. Please create a new Scene Collection (click the down arrow at the top left of the Scene Selector panel, choose Manage Scene Collections then create a new Scene Collection there), and in the new Scene Collection, just add Window Capture and see how your GPU usage looks. If GPU usage is improved, then manually rebuild your Scenes and Sources from scratch. Don't copy/paste the existing ones as that may transfer the corrupted one.

Sure, merge your TikTok account and log in with that TikTok account in Streamlabs Desktop. If you've requested and been granted permission by TikTok for Live from Streamlabs access, you can go live.

For example, take 1920x1080, and make it 1080x1920.

Hello, I am having trouble going live on Tiktok with streamlabs. I have 10k followers and an active live account, so I don't think I need any additional permission, but even when I log in to streamlabs directly from tiktok, it will not let me go live natively. As for the stream key, the "locate stream key" button takes me to tiktok's live studio website, but there is no stream key there. What am I doing wrong?

Hi there! Thanks for reaching out about this - are you able to try going into your Streamlabs Desktop Settings > Advanced > "Force GPU as render device" and see if turning that setting on or off helps this issue at all?

We no longer use the stream key method for TikTok. In order to correctly merge your TikTok account, please make sure there are no special characters or emojis in your TikTok display name.

Ok thank you. I've changed my display name to include no special characters and my account seems to be merged according to settings. However, I still cannot go live via streamlabs. The linked application states it is an application to go live on PC, but I can already go live via PC with Tiktok Studio, so do I still need to do this? Oddly, the application wants me to list a channel other than Tiktok as part of the application process, but Tiktok is my main streaming platform, so I am confused.

Log in with what ever platform you want to go live with, Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, or Trovo. Then set up your stream and finally go live. The default setting should work fine, there is no need to change them.

You need to apply via the link I gave you in order to be able to stream to TikTok from Streamlabs Desktop. That's the process created by TikTok. Streamlabs has no say in the approval process. TikTok alone approves requests. I understand you can go live via their Studio app. Live via Streamlabs requires an additional approval from TikTok.

The issue is that my bitrate drops from 18000 to 3000 and it doesn't make any sense. My Wi-Fi is great and I always do live in this same configuration.

Sounds like a insternal network issue if your bandwidth is fluctuating like that. I'd reboot your mobile device and if you can, reboot your Wifi access point/cable modem and see if that helps.

Speed Test tells me nothing. If you bit rate is fluctating that much, then there is a network issue there. It should change 18000 to 3000.

Having an issue with having sound in clips. Been an issue for the last 2-3 months but just now trying to fix it. When i go live there is sound from all sources (mic, game, browser, etc..) When someone tries to capture a clip there is no sound (there is no copyrighted music or sounds so vod should not be muted and doesn't show audio muted). Switched to OBS to see if it was a twitch issue or streamlabs and verified there is clip sound while streaming via OBS. Kind of at a loss.

Make sure you download the Intel version and not the Arm version. The Arm version will not work on an Intel CPU.

Sounds like you want certain alerts in certain alert boxes and not in all of them.

To do this, you'd have not use the Alert Box Widget and instead use two different Browser Sources:

1. Go to the Alert Box page on the Streamlabs website: https://streamlabs.com/dashboard#/alertbox
2. Click Filter Events. Uncheck everything except for Follows.
3. Copy the Widget URL and add a Browser Source and paste in that URL.
4. Go back to the Filter Events button, uncheck Follows and check everything else.
5. Copy the Widget URL and add a new Browser Source (don't reuse the existing one 😉 ) and paste in that URL.
6. Viola!
7. Profit!

Hi guys. When I capture the media player "PotPlayer" (capture by any method), the player starts to lag (the picture twitches) every 3-4 seconds. If you disable the capture of the player, the lag of the media playback stops. Previously, it helped to set a low priority for the broadcast output (in the streamlabs settings). Today, low priority has stopped helping (although everything was normal on the broadcast yesterday). What should I do?

Streamlabs Console is a paid subscription service.

You would need to log into the Streamlabs Console site, click your PFP in the upper right, choose Account Settings, then scroll down and choose either the Monthly or Annual plan.

Streamlabs Console is also included in our Streamlabs Ultra subscription. If you're using Streamlabs Console this way, please make sure you set up your Streamlabs ID then log into the Streamlabs Console with your Streamlabs ID rather than your Twitch.

Either one of those options will start your 7 day free trial; cancel before the end of that 7 day period to avoid getting charged for the first term you select.

Reboot your PC and try again. That usually resolves most weird audio issues.

Let start with some basics. What PC specs do you have (cpu, gpu, ram), what game are you playing? What is your internet speed (not what the isp told you, what it actually is with a speed test). In your streamlabs desktop settings...In the output tab, what is your encoder and bitrate? In the video tab what are your output settings and fps?

And you've double checked all your audio settings? Windows Update like to mess with audio devices.

i have quadrupled checked all of my audio settings, and they work. no windows updates either

because as you see in my Volume Mixer for my headset, it works

If YouTube, it can sometimes take up to 10 minutes for Chatbot to detect the stream start. The YT API is often slow, sadly.

You Output Resolutyion is the issue. Go to Settings > Video and swap the values.

Probably normal and not much cna be done about that. You might re-ask over at the Chatbot discord. The Volunteers over there are a bit more knowledgeable about Chatbot than me.

That depends on what resolution you want the stream to be... 1280x720 for 720p or 1920x1080 for 1080p.

It looks like you've got vertical output selected. In settings > Video, I believe your output resolution is reversed. It should be something like 1920x1080 or 1280x720. I think you're backwords

You will need at minimum a streamlabs console subscription. You get that included if you purchase an ultra subscription. You may want to check #announcements there was a big Black Friday sale going on for subscriptions. I’m not sure if it’s still active, doesn’t hurt to check.

No. Our integration with TikTok for Streamlabs Desktop only has the ability to go live. None of our Widgets are available for TikTok. Sorry about that. TikTok tightly controls what is allowed and what is not allowed.

guys i need some help please im really considering just going to OBS directly after years of SLOBS Ultra cuz its just not working. If i enable Multiplatform streaming, it refuses to go live on Twitch which is my main platform, it only goes live on tiktok. Ive signed out and signed back in and relinked the platforms but after a couple weeks, its goes back to broken. Its a constant tug and pull to get this software to work as intended but i keep paying month after month. I disabled dual streaming and decided to only do twitch since thats my main platform, and without my knowledge about 20 days ago my audio settings completely changed themselves and ALL of my clips and vods were completely muted instead of just the music being muted (another feature that refuses to work consistently). I really dont even know what to troubleshoot at this point, im constantly dealing with software feature failures.

Can you go into your Streamlabs Desktop Settings > Advanced > Audio and change your audio monitoring device to "default"?

Then close Streamlabs Desktop, re-launch it as admin (right-click the desktop icon, run as admin)

Then go back into the same settings area and change your audio monitoring device back to the device you'd like to hear audio.
