Ah, you’re using Streamlabels and not the Sub Goal Widget.

You need to download and install the standalone Streamlabels application. https://streamlabs.com/dashboard#/streamlabels. Sign in with your Twitch.

Then on OBS Studio, add a Text Source, choose the local file option, then navigate to the folder where you have the Streamlabels files, and choose the file you need.

Choose the folder where you want to store the files. I’d suggest creating a Streamlabels folder in your Documents folder.

Then select that folder in Streamlabels.

Then in the properties of the Text Source, select read from file option and navigate to where you stored the Streamlabels file and choose the sub goal file then save the properties.

Then move the source where you want it to appear.

Keep both. The Streamlabel files are only for that one specific data point. The Twitch Alert Box handles all the alerts.

To do this, you'd have not use the Alert Box Widget and instead use two different Browser Sources:

1. Go to the Alert Box page on the Streamlabs website: https://streamlabs.com/dashboard#/alertbox
2. Click Filter Events. Uncheck everything except for Follow.
3. Copy the Widget URL and add a Browser Source and paste in that URL.
4. Go back to the Filter Events button, uncheck Follow and check everythjing else.
5. Copy the Widget URL and add a new Browser Source (don't reuse the existing one 😉 ) and paste in that URL.
6. Viola!
7. Profit!

Also, you can use these options to move the text around.

i have a video which is 2 seconds long set to 2 seconds in the alert duration menu and it still loops indefinitely

Does the video have sound? If not, do you have a sound file set?

And is it really GIF?

Then if the length of the sound file is longer, then it will replay the image you have set.
If you set the alert duration shorter, it should cut off the sound file; as far as I know.

@clear dew i already advised switching to cqp, which has no set bit rate target, make a few short test recordings of what you usually intend to record (make sure to play similar to how you usually would), then you can see what kind of average bit rates you end up with; for example, when i play warhammer vermintide 2 and record it at 1440p 120 fps, i average 200 Mbps and spike to 600-700 Mbps

there's no established "best practice" in regards to high frame rate recording, mainly because few have the hardware to handle that, and out of those who do, few have both the desire and the necessary knowledge;

but it's widely agreed on that exact multiples of 60 are preferable, so it'd be better to switch to 120 hz and record at 120 fps, unless you're producing these videos for yourself, in which case you can switch to 165 and see how well it runs

Not sure if there is a solution for this but I have used dual output before and recently stopped using it. However, when I turn it off and then I am using either my Loupedeck or other apps to access Streamlabs, I see 2 instances of the source available. I get it when doing dual output but when I shut that off then the instances that were created for dual output should be removed, it is causing problems with using my loupedeck and other apps for control of my stream. Is there any way to clean this up?

I use the streamlabs console to stream and have done it for two months paying the fee for the service. Never a single issue. Well finally become twitch affiliate and now it doesn’t sync up to twitch. Greetings I sent in a Tech support ticket about Black Screen issues (and how to resolve them) have failed after pushing the new "Enable Dual Output" button went wrong. I have not been able to resolve the issue and i HAVE done all the steps I can find online. 😦 Any help is appreciated!

Been using restream all year so far without any issues and earlier I accidentally disabled the "platform" in the go live section and now for some unknown reason cant re-enable it, Ive reconnected my restream, fiddled with settings, cleared cache etc but still cant click it as an output(i am fully aware that I can just link my twitch account but im keeping things running through restream just on the off chance i decide to start doing youtube again like I did back in 2020 and then just stream to both rather than pick)

Hi there! If the streamer has "alert parries" enabled, one donation can interrupt another donation. If they have them disabled, each donation should have it's own alert time/time on screen without interrupting each other! (https://streamlabs.com/dashboard#/alertbox)

I'm not sure how you can find this out from the streamer, but I believe alert parries are defaulted to "disable" which should work out in your favor!

Yes, I deleted, Admin mode restart, googled, and even tried to recreate the issue. Black screen, no cursor for the game capture, et. all.

If you are being asked to "Start Fresh", this is a small Streamlabs Desktop bug, and you should be able to fix it by following these steps:

1. Close Streamlabs Desktop
2. Open your Task Manager. (Please press "Ctrl + Shift + Esc" on your keyboard to bring up your Task Manager)
3. Please select "More Details" at the bottom if you don't see the percentages of resources used.
4. Check for any running programs called "Streamlabs," "Electron," or "Obs64".

6. Re-open Streamlabs Desktop and let me know if you still have this issue.

After your return reply, I went to open Streamlabs Desktop. It had opened as a fresh install which was confusing.

I posted a comment about it and you replied with it's just a bug here's how to fix it.

I relaunched and it opened as a much much older version of my settings.

Yes, it does work again, but it's all jumbled and I just have to sit here and redo all my settings, audio, video, lock and unlock etc..

It's all good! Except, this issue is a real issue that may come up again for others, and the old "how to fix black screen" will need a updated solution for "Enable Dual Output" errors should this come up again for you and the team to tackle.

You can't really if you want to capture your screen, its added by Windows to indicate your screen is being recorded/captured.

It honestly like it might be in our best interest overall to try a new scene collection to avoid the crashing + game capture issues at the same time. It almost sounds like that collection is corrupt somehow. 🤔

Are you able to try creating a new scene collection (I attached a screenshot for reference) and let me know if this new collection causes either issue for you? I understand this isn't ideal as this does require setting up new scenes/sources, but it might be the best solution for the issues that you're currently experiencing.

All items work although game capture takes a moment to catch up in between scene switching, which is normal at times.

While streamimg using Streamlabs Console, I use a Microsoft Surface as my controller and Twitch control. At least once a stream (sometimes more) my camera will stop transmitting, which means my mic stops transmitting. Normally I like to use my external webcam which is a Logitech CD920 (iirc), but this issue occurs when using the built in camera on the Surface as well. Whenever you have a chance, I'd recommend "resetting" your Cloudbot to hopefully avoid this happening again in the future. To reset the Cloudbot, you simply want to turn it off for a full 15 minutes, then turn it back on!

Just wondering, may ask my buddy to come in here at some point too. Ever since he performed a windows update. anytime he goes to do a game capture, its crashing like most of his games he tries to play. He recently reinstalled windows. Tried new drivers, old drivers for his amd gpu. He has since reinstalled streamlabs and games are still crashing. Any thoughts? Followed the streamlabs "game crashes or fps drops" article already. Practically unable to stream now what he usually does for over a week. Any tips I can forward his way will try to help him out. Switching from game capture to screen capture seems to only delay the crashing most times.

Can you try the steps below to see if they help?

First, please delete your game capture and close Streamlabs Desktop.
Then go to the search in windows (🔎) and search this file path: C:\ProgramData\obs-studio-hook and then click on the folder that pops up.

Once you have done that you will see a bunch of files. If you can ignore those for a second and click on the program data folder (link: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/918160373264306206/918162974265466911/unknown.png?width=960&height=538). Then you should see the obs-studio-hook folder there and highlighted. Go ahead and delete the folder.

Now go ahead restart your PC and then right click Streamlabs Desktop and run as administrator. Then add a new game capture and see if that works for you.

As long as you have the correct devices selected in your Streamlabs Desktop Settings > Audio (for your Desktop Audio Device), your game audio should automatically come through your Desktop Audio. You may also need to check the device selected in your Streamlabs Desktop Settings > Advanced > Audio.

If you're on Mac, however, this works a bit differently. Please let me know if you're on Mac, and I can always send you the proper guide for setting up your audio!

Hi there! I see that you posted your question above - thank you for reposting! 🙂 Capture card audio becoming more delayed over time is a very common issue with capture card devices. My best recommendations to start would be the following:

1. Restart your PC once right before streaming/using your capture card. Be sure to restart rather than powering down > turning back on. A "restart" will reset your device drivers which is important when using webcams, capture cards, etc.

2. Re-install your capture card drivers to your PC.

3. Check your cables/potentially test with new cables - sometimes the cables connecting your hardware can contribute to these audio delays, as well.

4. Unplug all inputs/outputs from your capture card device > re-connect.

This is where I would start to see if this helps resolve it!

Your default browser in Windows is causing issues with logging into Streamlabs Desktop. The login popup relies on the default browser set in Windows, so you won't be able to log in if it's blocked. Follow these steps to fix it:

1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard or go bottom left and click the Windows logo.
2. Search for "default apps". It may be different in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
3. Find the default apps section and close Streamlabs Desktop

There is no cost to merge or unmerge platforms in your Streamlabs account. The only issue could be if you signed in with the account versus merging it, you might have created a new Streamlabs account - in this case, it sound like this platform may be Primary in the new Streamlabs account.

Did you log in with your Twitch and then merge your YouTube or did you log out and log in with your YouTube?

I stream to twitch, youtube and then another youtube one that streams in 1080x1920. I get the chat come through for the normal youtube and twitch. However not for the youtube shorts chat.

Your Scene Collections (Scenes and Sources) are stored in the cloud and will be available once you get Streamlabs Desktop installed again after your Windows re-install. Just be sure to log into the same account you're using now. Also note that sometimes restored Scene Collections don't immediately show up so let it sit for a few minutes and then double check by clicking the down arrow next to the Scene Collection name.

Also note the at the actual settings like encoder, bitrate, audio devices, etc are not saved in the cloud so you might want to screen shot those settings and save a copy of those screen shots so you can set them back.

Hi, I have a problem with accepting credit card donations through my streamlabs tip page. I have completed the bussines Paypal/streamlabs integration today and the standard paypal to paypal donations work without a problem, but when someone tries to donate using a credit card (checked with both US and EU residents) it shows an error like the one in the scrreenshot posted. I have contacted Paypal support and got a generic reply that explains to me how to create a paypal donation button. Can someone help me with this? I noticed the streamlabs integration does not add a customer service phone number. I tried adding one manually later but that didn't change a thing. Thanks!

Then you may have an outdated token that is unable to capture the Subscribers for your channel.

Please follow the steps below in order to resolve the

1. Log out of Streamlabs Desktop

5. Log into Streamlabs Desktop

Unfortunately, any previous subs won't show up as the system didn't detect them. Any new subscribers should show up though.

I recently made a new twitch account (kings_direct_gaming), i wanted to use this twitch instead. i unlink my other account from stream labs and then tried linking the new one, but ran into a problem with logging into the new twitch account and encountered an error. it wont allow me to link the new account because it is already linked to another steam labs account for some reason.

That's not how mine looks when I enable dual output (on the confirm and go live screen). I would try reinstalling (it won't make you lose your overlays or anything). If that doesn't work i would submit a ticket to official support using the link in #support-info

Let's refresh the connection between Streamlabs and Twitch. Follow the steps below in order; don't skip steps and don't perform them out of order.

First, log out of the Streamlabs web site on every device you access it with. Click your PFP in the upper right and choose Log out.
Second, log out in Streamlabs Desktop and quit it. See the tagged post below on how to log out in Streamlabs Desktop.
Third, follow this guide: https://streamlabs.com/content-hub/post/how-to-disconnect-your-streamlabs-account.
Fourth, launch your web browser, navigate back to the Streamlabs web site and log back in with your Twitch. This re-establishes the connection.
Fifith, launch Streamlabs Desktop and log in with your Twitch.

Note this will not recover events that were missed. They are only sent over the API once. It will update with the next new follower.
