Having issues logging in/the login button is unresponsive?
Your default browser in Windows is causing issues with logging into Streamlabs Desktop. The login popup relies on the default browser set in Windows, so you won't be able to log in if it's blocked. Follow these steps to fix it:

1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard or go bottom left and click the Windows logo.
2. Search for "default apps". It may be different in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
3. Find the default apps section and close Streamlabs Desktop
4. Change your default browser to a new browser. For example, if you're currently on Chrome, you'll want to change it to Edge or Firefox. (Screenshot for reference: https://prnt.sc/48ZdLCQCgi8D)
5. Once you've changed this, reopen Streamlabs Desktop and see if the same issue occurs when attempting to log in.

Hi! Im experiencing issues where my twitch stream is crashing but my streamlabs is still indicating that it is live. I'm assuming its an internet issue, but I'm on a wired connection and getting 17-25mbps upload speeds, and not sure why it keeps doing it? It ALWAYS will happen whenever i play league of legends and get in champion select (every game it crashes my stream) and on other times too. Now im seeing it even happen to my stardew valley stream today which didnt crash for a whole almost 2 hours, but still did. I'm at a loss of what to do. Hello, i'm trying to set up my stream channel with streamlabs desktop and i need help for two things :
1 - My screen have yellow border when i open the game i want to stream. How can i change that ?
2 - When i'm on streamlabs desktop on the "editor" i can launch my stream but the chat is permanently on "connecting to chat" its possible to fix that ?

1. Yellow border is apart of Windows 10 capture hook, you can try using DXDGI for capture method within the Window source capture settings and 2) Click the Refresh Chat button at the top of the embedded chat dock. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, log out and log back in.

Are you on Windows based computer or a Mac? If Windows, please try again but be sure to run Streamlabs Desktop as administrator and see if that helps or not. To run as administrator, right click on the shortcut and choose Run as administrator.

The there won’t be any sound played with the alert. You can choose a stock sound from Streamlabs if you like or just leave it silent.

There’s really not a way to do the like on Streamlabs Desktop. As long as the overlay appears on top of the game capture, it should be seen. In other words, add game capture first then everything else.

I can get the game itself to stream to twitch without streamlabs, and I can get streamlabs to stream to twitch without the game. Basically, yes sir. I'll try to explain to the best of my ability. I've got Call of Duty Mobile installed on my phone, as well as twitch and streamlabs. I guess what I'm uncertain of is how to link my game to streamlabs to twitch. Like I said I can go live on twitch alone, and the gameplay is visible but no camera or overlay. And I can go live from streamlabs, with my overlay and camera, but no gameplay.

Hi All! Don't suppose anyone knows of a fix for the below - Streamlabs is showing new sub, raids and such... but isn't showing any followers! I've tried - uninstalling (deleting all directories) and re-installing. Disconnecting from twitch/re-connecting... I've made no changes myself to any settings, and it was working fine 3 days ago

Refreshing the connection between Streamlabs and the platform will resolve this.

Don't skip the log out steps! To log out of the Streamlabs web site, click your PFP in the upper right corner of the web site and choose Log out. See the image below on how to log out in Streamlabs Desktop.

As far as I know, Streamlabs Desktop can only receive the NDI stream. You’d have to first create the NDI stream in OBS Studio https://streamlabs.com/content-hub/post/create-ndi-stream-output-with-obs-studio and then receive it in Streamlabs Desktop https://streamlabs.com/content-hub/post/ndi-receiving-setup-in-streamlabs-desktop. Since you can’t run Streamlabs Desktop twice, you can use it to both send and receive the NDI stream.

The update before this one broke my settings somehow, I like if the no-visible-game sources just stay invisible so I don't have to show any kind of "looking for a game to capture" on stream, but now it's always there when I switch games etc, it's very annoying.

Hi, I'm having an issue with Alertbox and Recent Events showing on OBS Studio?

I've seen it's been reported before as it was in the known-issues section:

What do I need to do?: Go to Streamlabs.com > Recent Events or Dashboard > Live Actions >

I've tried this option but it hasn't worked.

I also tried logging out and logging in of streamlabs.com
I tried refreshing the cache on OBS Studio browsersource
I tried deleting the browsersource from all locations and then re-adding it
I also noticed recent events stopped working (I think that's the name of the box that shows who followed/subbed recently)
I've checked the logs directly and it hasn't recorded any events from the last 3 months or so
It works when I launch the box directly inside streamlabs.com on the test launcher but when I try to even run a test alert, it will not show on OBS.

Have I missed something obvious? Any suggestions?

-Click "View and Edit" on the Streamlabs connection.
-Click "Remove Business Integration"

The usual fix for that is clicking on your Facebook profile's icon (on the upper right of the docked chat window) and "swapping profiles".

It may not hurt to clear the browser cache of Streamlabs Desktop as well, and I can get the steps for that too

Here are those browser cache clear steps:

1. Close Streamlabs Desktop
2. Hit windows key + R
3. Paste this and hit enter %appdata%/slobs-client/plugin_config/obs-browser
4. Delete the cache folder
5. Start up Streamlabs Desktop again

This just acts the same as if you were to clear your browser cache- no settings will be lost

Fast motion is always going to cause issues while streaming. Streaming involves tradeoffs. You have to accept that sometimes that the way it is just because things are out of your control like bitrate limits imposed by the platform, meaning Twitch.

The guide covers setting things up. If you want to live stream, you need to to first log into the Streamlabs web site with either your Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, Trovo, or X account. Then log in in Streamlabs Desktop with the same account. Then setup your scenes and sources.

There’s a lot of engineering that goes on to make Streamlabs Console work. Some capabilities of the Desktop version are just not capable as a Xbox isn’t an exactly like a desktop computer running Windows. Sure it has some of the same hardware but doesn’t make it a computer.

In a web browser, go to https://dashboard.twitch.tv/ then on the left side, click Stream Manager. You should be able to end the stream there.

Sounds like you’re having issues with the resolution fields. The Base Resolution should be set to the same resolution as your monitor. The Output Resolution should be set to the resolution you want your stream.

This is also common: If you’ve logged in with TikTok, the Output Resolution is forced in Portrait due the requirements of TikTok. If you’re now streaming to another platform, you’d have to go to Settings > Video and swap the values in the Output Resolution field.

Follow the instructions for the Twitch Test in the next post. Use Medium or Long Duration. Short Duration will give bad results. Choose all the ingests in your region.

Please run this twitch test tool to find out the best server (https://r1ch.net/projects/twitchtest). Be sure to run the test for either Medium or Long, as short won't give you the most accurate results and be sure to select your region from the listed options (if the regions are not applicable to you, please select 5-6 servers that are near you). You're looking for at least a quality of 84.
Once you've found a good server go to Settings > Stream > Stream to custom ingest and you can manually select your server.

Okay, PLEASE follow the steps below in the order shown. Don’t skip or rearrange the steps.

1. In Streamlabs Desktop, log out and quit Streamlabs Desktop.
2. Go to the Streamlabs web site by clicking on this link: https://streamlabs.com/dashboard#/settings/account-settings/slIDSettingsPage.
3. Create your Streamlabs ID and once that is created, log out of the web site and log in with the new Streamlabs ID. THAT log out/log in is important! Don’t skip this log out/log in!!!
4. Go here https://streamlabs.com/dashboard#/settings/account-settings/platforms and unmerge your Twitch and then merge it back. Then log out of the Streamlabs web site.
5. Launch Streamlabs Desktop and log in with your Twitch. You will need a never ever before followed you follow as a test. With that, again, you should see the alert in the preview window and them mini feed should update.

Your default browser in Windows is causing issues with logging into Streamlabs Desktop. The login popup relies on the default browser set in Windows, so you won't be able to log in if it's blocked. Follow these steps to fix it:

1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard or go bottom left and click the Windows logo.
2. Search for "default apps". It may be different in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
3. Find the default apps section and close Streamlabs Desktop

5. Once you've changed this, reopen Streamlabs Desktop and see if the same issue occurs when attempting to log in.

The "acting like it's a fresh restart" is due to certain background processes not closing properly. First, please close Streamlabs Desktop.

Then open your task manager. Please press "Ctrl + Shift + Esc" on your keyboard to bring up your Task Manager.
Please select "More Details" at the bottom if you don't see the percentages of resources used.

I got it all fixed it was a settings issue. to fix the mic I had to go to Microsoft privacy settings and allow permission for apps to access the mic and then for Streamlabs after I added my capture card and made sure that capture audio only was selected I chose to set up a custom audio device. from there it let me select my capture card and the monitoring lines popped right up and I have GORIOUS sound for my streams and recordings after a week of agony!!!!

I've been streaming F1 23 regularly for a year on my ultra widescreen with a resolution of 3440x1440. I learned from a tutorial that you should set a resolution of 2560x1440 in the settings under Video in order to stream the whole thing on Twitch. Then right-click on the image -> "transform" -> "fit to screen". This meant that the entire image was transmitted and you had black bars at the top and bottom of the stream. A few days ago there was a big update from Streamlabs (approx. 650mb) and it didn't apply the video settings again and it no longer works in the way described above. Now the image in the stream is practically always squeezed. Is this a known bug after the update? Or is a different approach necessary now? Many thanks for your help.

Your default browser in Windows is causing issues with logging into Streamlabs Desktop. The login popup relies on the default browser set in Windows, so you won't be able to log in if it's blocked. Follow these steps to fix it:

1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard or go bottom left and click the Windows logo.
2. Search for "default apps". It may be different in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
3. Find the default apps section and close Streamlabs Desktop

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this issue that I'm having.

I have created my alerts on Twitch and on Streamlabs I have created a browser source and have copied the url link from Twitch to Streamlabs. The issue that I'm having is that it doesn't show up and I can't hear any of the alerts going off. I've had a look on the Streamlabs settings and it's not on mute on the recent events list.

I want to listen to the audio through my Airpods and need Streamlabs to record that same audio while it's screen recording.

I installed the StreamlabsPluginUpdater last night and it's been making my widescreen layout laggy. My 4:3 Layout works fine with it but in both layouts my display capture is flickering. I ended up uninstalling it and my obs works fine again and after installing it again gave me the same issues. Is there any fix for this so I can have the plugin?

Also in task manager the power usage goes to 'very high' on my widescreen layout and to 'high' in 4:3 layout from normally being on moderate

Honestly, I think for that you might just have to "refresh" your login? I would try signing out completely of the OBS Desktop app then sign back in with your new twitch username and your twitch password. I think I had this exact same issue. I changed my name to the one i have now and I think that's all i had to do.

Okay, so I've managed to sort this problem out. On Twitch you have to go to your alerts and turn off 'Say Alert Text' and save changes and it shows up on Streamlabs.

Now the problem is: Say Alert Text is off, so if a follower hits follow, you'll be notified that someone has followed you on twitch but it won't read out their name. How do I fix this? If I turn on say alert text back on, then it doesn't show on the screen when streaming only a notification comes up in the chat.

I think i have an idea... but i first need to know if there is a way to change the email on a streamlabs id

Okay so i just Deleted my account that has the Streamlabs ID... once the deletion goes through i should be able to just log into my main account and add the email to that one since the other account is deleted?

I don't believe this is possible; but don't quote me. If you have some account issues you'd want to resolve, you'll need to put in a ticket: https://support.streamlabs.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. Us Volunteers aren't employees and thus we cannot assist with account issues as we jsut don't have any access. 😉 And I would not recommend trying to fix them on your own as you might lose data.

I'd say there is an issue with your Nvidia driver. I'd recommend a clean install of your Nvidia drivers. And at the end, please reboot before trying to go live or recording.

You would need to download and install Streamlabs Desktop. Then set up your Scenes and Sources. Then to start recording, just press the red REC button.

I was here a month or so ago talking about issues and stuff with streaming with both obs and stream labs and the resolved issue was re install your graphic drivers and stuff so i did that today and still nothing works, the stream isn't sharp it lags and its in 35 fps, whats the next step

Most games can be captured with Game Capture. Some games have anti cheat features like Roblox and those must be captured with Windows or Display Capture. You would want to be sure to set your Desktop Audio and Microphone devices in Streamlabs Desktop at Settings > Audio.

Just wanted to ask a question. Since I updated streamlabs, this screen pops up on the specific window tab. Is there anyway to hide this or get rid of it? I kinda don't really like how it pops up when I switch in between games/sources

That screen isn’t displayed on stream. If you edit the properties of the Game Capture source, you can change the placeholder image. And if you do that, then that image will be displayed on stream and in the preview window (rather than nothing on stream).

I always set it to the same image I use for my thumbnail to sort of tie it all together so to speak.

Huh, I thought that wouldn’t show on stream. You would double click on the source and the near the bottom of the property window should be the Placeholder Image selection.

So from what I could gather, you would need to add the noise gate filter ((you don't have to mess witrh the settings on it)) for it to detect the mic settings

Well, that could be any number of things. Are the Widgets higer in the Source list than any capture method? If not, then they might be 'hidden' underneath the capture source. Did you add these as Widgets or Browser Sources (in Streamlabs Desktop) or Browser Sources (in OBS Studio)?

I'm fixing to record for a bit so I may be slow to respond. Remember, this channel is driven by the communtiy, so if anyone feel comfortable in answering something they are knowledgable about, they can do so.

Sounds like a browser cache issue.

Clear your Desktop browser cache to ensure it’s not the widget causing this.

1. Close Streamlabs Desktop
2. Hit windows key + R
3. Paste this and hit enter %appdata%/slobs-client/plugin_config/obs-browser
4. Delete only the cache folder
5. Startup Streamlabs Desktop again

Sounds like your Alert text delay is too long. Try setting it to zero.

I'd probably then remove all the filters. Go to Settings > Audio. Change the Microphone to Disabled. Click Done to save the settings. Restart Streamlabs Desktop. Go to Settings > Audio. Set the correct Microphone device. Then add the filters back.

I'd disable the Custom HTML/CSS and see if that helps. Custom code is quite often the source of a lot of alert box issues.
