hey guys im totally new to streaming and just upgraded my pc which appears to have caused some issues. when i open up streamlabs my screen capture (or any other mode, game capture/display capture) just show a black screen or they show my playtime and fps on a black bar. ive been digging thorough google and every "fix" i find does nothing at all. the only thing i havent tried is deleting streamlabs and redownloading it. any help would be greatly appreciated

Hey shocking so on pc you gotta have the game application open while trying to stream. Add display capture will open your whole screen or if you have a video capture device such as a elgato it would be the game capture

If having hardware issues or errors, you may not see any to you, but your event viewer in windows will capture

Every time I open streamlabs on my PC my ping sky rockets so I usually sit around 45ms-60ms but as soon as I open streamlabs it goes up to 350ms-1000ms and then if I try and stream it shoots up to between 3000ms and 8000ms I’ve adjusted settings reset my internet several times I’ve only just started having this issue today before this I’ve been able to stream with little to no issues can someone please help me out

Streamlabs Desktop launching as if it is a fresh/like it's the first time using it?
The "acting like it's a fresh restart" is due to certain background processes not closing properly. First, please close Streamlabs Desktop.

Then open your task manager. Please press "Ctrl + Shift + Esc" on your keyboard to bring up your Task Manager.
Please select "More Details" at the bottom if you don't see the percentages of resources used.

Okay i came up with a solution. Its seams a bit rediculious but it works.
So the problem lies in streamlabs software working with other camera software. I am using the canon eos webcam utility and it did not work correctly.
What i ended up doing is pulling the camera into obs first, the pulling the obs virtual cam into streamlabs and vuala, it works as it should.
Im not happy about that extra step being necessary but until streamlabs intigrates other camera software better this will work.

That’s due to an account privacy option in YouTube that’s enabled by default. If the viewer’s subscriptions are private, we cannot detect when they subscribe to your channel.

The viewer would need to go here BEFORE subscribing https://www.youtube.com/account_privacy and turn this setting off. Changing it after subscribing would not cause an alert. Also unsubscribing and resubcribing after toggling that option off would not cause an alert. The latter is done to prevent people from spamming your alerts.

This setting ON YOUR CHANNEL doesn’t matter. The person watching your stream would have to change the setting on THEIR account.

• After you've added your capture source, the "game" may require to be focused before it will be captured in Streamlabs Desktop.
• This means you will want to start interacting with the "game" for about 5-20 seconds before it will be detected.

I'm using it to record, and my game capture audio is defintely being recieved, but I can only HEAR it in the recorded video like...30% of the time. Without changing any settings it just seems to decide on a whim if it's going into the recording or not. Having issues logging in/the login button is unresponsive?
Your default browser in Windows is causing issues with logging into Streamlabs Desktop. The login popup relies on the default browser set in Windows, so you won't be able to log in if it's blocked. Follow these steps to fix it:

1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard or go bottom left and click the Windows logo.
2. Search for "default apps". It may be different in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
3. Find the default apps section and close Streamlabs Desktop
4. Change your default browser to a new browser. For example, if you're currently on Chrome, you'll want to change it to Edge or Firefox. (Screenshot for reference: https://prnt.sc/48ZdLCQCgi8D)
5. Once you've changed this, reopen Streamlabs Desktop and see if the same issue occurs when attempting to log in.

Okay, then the Steam Deck installer would not have found Streamlabs Desktop. The plugin for Streamlabs Desktop is installed if it’s found during Stream Deck install. I would quit Streamlabs Desktop and the Stream Deck app, download a fresh Stream Deck installer and run the installer again.

No need to uninstall either first.

Just let the Stream Deck installer install over your existing installation.

Hi all, I streamed for a bit tonight, but when I went to my own page to check vod quality it was just a black screen. Some viewers could see the game but others had the black screen as well. If you're using a PC, you could use the Game Overlay. https://streamlabs.com/content-hub/post/game-overlay-for-streamlabs-desktop.

Due to the way MacOS is designed, Game Overlay isn't available in Streamlabs Desktop for MacOS.

If you have Twitch Alerts on Twitch enabled, I would disable those. If you’re not using Twitch Alerts, check for any variations on the follow alert. If any variations appear as unknown, delete those variations.

Please don’t ping those not actively assisting you. If you have uninstalled Twitch Soundtrack, it’s important that you reboot your PC. Next, please enable all audio tracks then go back and uncheck and recheck track 6, which is what Twitch Soundtrack used. The enable Twitch VOD and then uncheck track 2 on every audio source you don’t want in the VOD. Make sure the Twitch VOD track is set to 2. If you still have issues, manually create a new Scene Collection and rebuild your scenes and sources from scratch and then setup your Twitch VOD track channels in the new scene collection. Twitch Soundtrack is known for permanently breaking g audio in scene collections where it was used.

• After you've added your capture source, the "game" may require to be focused before it will be captured in Streamlabs Desktop.

Thanks for confirming that. First, please delete your game capture and any other window, display, etc capture sources and close Streamlabs Desktop.

Then go to the search in windows (🔎) and search this file path: C:\ProgramData\obs-studio-hook and then click on the folder that pops up.

Once you have done that you will see a bunch of files. If you can ignore those for a second and click on the program data folder (link: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/918160373264306206/918162974265466911/unknown.png?width=960&height=538). Then you should see the obs-studio-hook folder there and highlighted. Go ahead and delete the folder.

Now go ahead restart your PC and then right click Streamlabs Desktop and run as administrator. Then add a new game capture and see if that works for you.

I would at least remove the Browser Source you have for Chatbox from every scene, then restart OBS Studio, copy the Chatbox Widget URL, and add (for now) one brand new Browser Source [don’t copy or reuse and existing browser source] and paste in the Widget URL and then test.

When someone makes an account on YouTube, the subscribed channels are private by default. When the person subscribing to you is set to private, Streamlabs cannot see the subscription.

Quit Streamlabs Desktop. Go to the Streamlabs web site and download a fresh installer. Launch the installer as administrator and let it install over your existing installation. No need to uninstall at all. At the end of the installer, don’t let it launch Streamlabs Desktop but rather quit the installer and reboot your PC. Once the PC is back up, test again.

Streamlabs Console is a paid subscription service. You would need to log into the Streamlabs Console site, click your PFP in the upper right, choose Account Settings, then scroll down and choose either the Monthly or Annual plan.

Streamlabs Console is also included in our Streamlabs Ultra subscription. If you're using Streamlabs Console this way, please make sure you set up your Streamlabs ID then log into the Streamlabs Console with your Streamlabs ID rather than your Twitch.

All my alerts have no sound but the video or gif shows up on OBS as a browser source. Coppied my link to his OBS and still no sound. Kick is tetchy. You need to make sure your Output Resolution is 1280x720, your bitrate should not exceed 8000, and that you go to your Kick Dashboard and set the stream title and category before you go live. Even then sometimes Kick isn’t stable and you still won’t be able to go live.

The make sure that your alert box source in the mixer has track 1 ticked. If track 1 isn’t selected then the stream won’t hear anything from that audio source. If you want to exclude that audio form your VOD, uncheck track 2, or what ever track you selected first Twitch VOD.

hey yall, i tried making my own overlay on canva and made sure it met all the rquirements, png with transparent background, its smaller than 1280x720, and under 10mb. Streamlabs Console is a paid subscription service. You would need to log into the Streamlabs Console site, click your PFP in the upper right, choose Account Settings, then scroll down and choose either the Monthly or Annual plan.

Streamlabs Console is also included in our Streamlabs Ultra subscription. If you're using Streamlabs Console this way, please make sure you set up your Streamlabs ID then log into the Streamlabs Console with your Streamlabs ID rather than your Twitch.

im almost starting to get frustrated like its kind of unprofessional and then at the same point people who pay for ultra just instantly chat and get matters dealt with i dont find that too fair we are all customers at the end of the day they get the special treatment it seems i have a buddy who pays for ultra and never has issues or anything and when he does its an easy click to the chat bubble and getting it dealt with me not a chance ill expreince that being a free user of streamlabs dashboard and what not its been weeks i need this dealt with asap STREAMLABS

Having issues logging in/the login button is unresponsive?
Your default browser in Windows is causing issues with logging into Streamlabs Desktop. The login popup relies on the default browser set in Windows, so you won't be able to log in if it's blocked. Follow these steps to fix it:

1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard or go bottom left and click the Windows logo.
2. Search for "default apps". It may be different in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
3. Find the default apps section and close Streamlabs Desktop
4. Change your default browser to a new browser. For example, if you're currently on Chrome, you'll want to change it to Edge or Firefox. (Screenshot for reference: https://prnt.sc/48ZdLCQCgi8D)
5. Once you've changed this, reopen Streamlabs Desktop and see if the same issue occurs when attempting to log in.

Hi All, hoping some can maybe help. When I'm streaming either single output to youtube or a multistream to twitch, the viewers watching seem to get an ending as if I had clicked end stream or the video freezes and then that's it. In streamlabs however, I am livestreaming as if nothing has happened and see no issues but everyone then leaves as they think the stream has cut out. Hey guys, so I’m looking to get back into streaming however my setup has changed slightly and it’s causing me issues that I can’t seem to find a fix for.

Essentially I’ve went from a wireless steelseries headset to a wired one which connects directly to my Xbox. I then have a razer ripsaw connected to my Xbox and laptop. Now before I would be able to stream my Xbox audio perfectly fine but now there is no audio at all. When I disconnect the headset, the audio comes back (but then I obviously can’t hear the game that way). The current headset is a Steelseries Nova Pro X, so it has the gamedac (I think that’s what it’s called)

So I guess I’m just wondering if there is any know fixes/work arounds for this kind of thing?

So, open mincraft, when you go to the stream editor, click on the gear icon next to the game capture source, the top option that says auto, click on it and select capture specific window, select minecraft, it'll take a couple seconds to show up, that's normal. Then go into the game and try to reproduce the bug and let me know what happens

Having issues with Dropped Frames?

• Dropped frames are a notification that let you know that something is wrong with the network or internet connection you are using. There can be several different causes for this issue.
• To start troubleshooting this issue, we would recommend:

1. Restarting your router/modem
2. Disabling your LAN adapter and re-enabling it {Link 2}

Is there anyway to use my mic settings from streamlabs as an input for my in game mic? I set up my mic within stream labs and it is very good but in game it is using all of the "default" settings unless I use something like VoiceMeeter which I don’t really want to do

Cloudbot continues to not work even though streamlabs is authorized, and I have logged in/out. All of my commands and timers are through cloudbot, and none are responsive. Anyone else have this issue?

I was dealing with an issue where when I launch streamlabs, it would be reset as if I just installed it, and it does this every time I close and reopen it. Idk why it was doing this, but it got to the point where my external camera no longer shows. It recognizes it, but it just shows black and the camera works everywhere else. I didn't know what to do so I just uninstalled it. Hopefully this can be fixed

Is there a way to enable mic and camera in the SLOBS browser (browser source). The site i'm trying to stream my feed from does not work without those enabled. I can stream a window as a workaround, but using browser source would be much easier.

Hello, I've been experiencing an issue in the last week or so where when I have streamlabs open and I launch WoW, the game itself launches fine but when I get to the character screen, the game just freezes and becomes unresponsive. This doesn't happen if I don't have streamlabs open. Has anyone else had this issue? I don't have any other games installed so I can't really test it for other games

- Twitch VOD Track is a new feature implemented in 1.1.x, which allows users to exclude audio from Twitch VODs (video on demand). 
- The purpose of this feature is to exclude DMCA/Copyright music from your VOD. To enable this feature, first verify you have version 1.1.0 or above, (you can verify your version in the top left of Streamlabs Desktop) if you do not have this version, head over to https://streamlabs.com and download a new installer. 

# To Configure: 
- Settings > Output > Enable "advanced encoder settings” (if in Simple Output Mode) > Enable “Twitch VOD Track (Uses Track 2)”. If you would like to utilize a different track you will need to be in Advanced output mode at the top of your Output settings. 

- Open Advanced Audio Options (settings wheel next to the Streamlabs Desktop mixer).

Having issues logging in/the login button is unresponsive?
Your default browser in Windows is causing issues with logging into Streamlabs Desktop. The login popup relies on the default browser set in Windows, so you won't be able to log in if it's blocked. Follow these steps to fix it:

1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard or go bottom left and click the Windows logo.
2. Search for "default apps". It may be different in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
3. Find the default apps section and close Streamlabs Desktop
4. Change your default browser to a new browser. For example, if you're currently on Chrome, you'll want to change it to Edge or Firefox. (Screenshot for reference: https://prnt.sc/48ZdLCQCgi8D)
5. Once you've changed this, reopen Streamlabs Desktop and see if the same issue occurs when attempting to log in.

Refreshing the connection between Streamlabs and the platform will resolve this.

Don't skip the log out steps! To log out of the Streamlabs web site, click your PFP in the upper right corner of the web site and choose Log out. See the image below on how to log out in Streamlabs Desktop.

👉 NOTE: **This will not go back and capture any events that were missed. Events are sent over the API once and if they aren't detected, that event will never be sent again.

You'll need a new event (new follow on Twitch, new subscriber on YouTube, etc) as verification. I can follow on Twitch or subscribe on YouTube for verification if you like. An unfollow/refollow or unsubscribe/resubscribe won't trigger a new alert.**

👉 NOTE: The guide has sections for the 4 platforms we have full integration with, Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and Trovo. So only follow the section for the platform you're using.
