Depends on what is your hardware. If you are using a Nvidia GPU use the Nvenc codec, also do not use mothe then 50% of your upload total for the bitrate.

Hey there, the resolution that you play at can be diferent then the one you stream. For example I play at 1440p and stream at 1080p, you just have to change this settings here.

regarding resolution is the only one you need to change is there, make sure you use the Lanczons filter and use the FPS you want, either 60fps for fast paced games or 30fps for like story games

If you use a Nvidia card the settings I posted earlier are quite like standart, just make sure you dont use more then 50% of your upload speed for your stream

Hello Community Support! I have the strangest issue.
I'm debugging a friend's streamlabs desktop connection to Twitch.
When he goes live, User viewers would get twitch error #3000 when trying to watch his cast. This was with the default settings for streamlabs desktop.
We're using NVENC now (not the new one), and downscaled his video output from 1920. We got his cast to finally work using NVENC.

Users with Chrome and Edge can see his live stream no problem.
However, Opera GX and Firefox, throw twitch 3000 errors.
Being that Chrome and Edge use chromium's core, and GX and Firefox seem similar, I cannot figure out if its a codec issue at twitch or not... and it's Only his stream. Other casters on twitch, work in all four listed browser types.
I've got screenshots and even a HAR capture in both browsers (204 error in Opera GX and Firefox, but normal status 200's in Chrome and Edge)

I'm down to discuss if anyone wants to take a stab at this issue. I'm totally stumped and I'm out of troubleshooting options.

well you are trying to put a horizontal source into a vertical canvas, so either you cut it and just show the part you want, of you scale it to have the full screen on with black borders on top and bottom or rotate is 90o

Ok I had this once, it was one plugin I believe it was that was messing it up. Cant remember what plugin, but that as nothing to do with the stream it self it has to do with your browser

I would clean up them cookies, unistall them plugins and try again.

Ok. I've given that a whirl. I've disabled privacy protection and still no go. Did a full browser restart just in case it was cached.

i share internet, and be curtious to shared devices for me because i only have 10 Mbps.. but you have 256 Mbps... should be fine at 6k, but if your other devices are using more, may want to check if ISP does throttling, or drop the bitrate... or if DNS could be having issues resolving name servers... DNS resolving is coming from your ISP in FR, and if they are having issues resolving, may need to add extra entries. 🙂 I can use french translator if you like

You can try opening ports, but if this is a new issue for you, and you streamed before, then something is going on. Yet if this is your first time using the software and streaming with it, you may want to check on opening ports or do port forwarding.

I opened SLOBS today and noticed my source to capture my gaming pc (2 pc setup) was not working. I tried to open the properties of this source. It put me in a never-ending buffering screen. I tried to X the box but the program froze. I closed it from the task bar and a white box popped up saying "An error has occurred which has caused Streamlabs Desktop to close." Along with a few more sentences about recording. I tried reinstalling SLOBS with no luck. I tried uninstalling SLOBS and deleting all appdata including "slobs-client" and "slobs-plugins". I reinstalled a fresh copy of SLOBS and tried to log in. After logging in, it did the never-ending buffering again. I closed the program to get the same white box error. I opened SLOBS back up and I was logged in, but the buffering problem still exists. I have tried opening SLOBS in administrator mode and normal mode. I also installed new nvidia drivers.

@everyone I don't know if this information will be helpful to you not. But you see I have been paying for streamlabs ever since October 2023. You see I am a Xbox gamer and I play on Xbox and do not have a pc computer. I know what your thinking why don't you buy a pc and stream using obs and a capture card. Well you see i am on disability. So I can't afroed that. I know you can stream to twitch right from Xbox for free. But your stream will not look good and you can't stream in HD. So i had to chose to pay for streamlabs or lightstream. When I was looking at both of them. I noticed ligghtstream been around longer but has less to other of what you can do with it. But streamlabs has been around less and has more features you can use plus it is cheaper in price, I could not understand it at first. How could a platform that has not been around that long have more features then the other and cost less. I am considering to switching and paying yearly for streamlabs instead of monthly. I wish they did had lifetime plan. But I still love it and do not regreat getting it.

what i can recommend before updating SL next time.. i know it's inconvenient, but you can create a System Restore point in Windows prior doing an update to any software. So, if stuff goes sideways, you can go back to the previous state

As for the "acting like it's a fresh restart" this is due to certain background processes not closing proerly. First, please close Streamlabs Desktop.

Then open your task manager. Please press "Ctrl + Shift + Esc" on your keyboard to bring up your Task Manager.
Please select "More Details" at the bottom if you don't see the percentages of resources used.

If that's not on then i would check your transparency setting. You can do that by double clicking on the game capture source or by right clicking it > properties. If it's turned on for "Allow Transparency" then turn it off

for sure and understandable, because through this channel it seems as a common issue that people lose their Profile and Settings, and since a similar article was found on Reddit 3yrs ago (50/50 fix), it seems as if nothing was done to create a Save Profile prior an update, or even just do a integration or button on the "SL Skin" on OBS, to say Save Profile to Local Machine, or to your cloud device. So why was it ignored for 3yrs?

I work in IT... but a good note... if something goes sideways like that, we have to resort to a backup or a system restore point to fix what an update broke. Not a good thing on a SaaS, it should be implemented to backup up their priority (their customers). Just something to make sure even a save feature that should be also not be optional for non-ultra subscribers too.

Streamlabs Console is a paid subscription service. You would need to log into the Streamlabs Console site, click your PFP in the upper right, choose Account Settings, then scroll down and choose either the Monthly or Annual plan.

Streamlabs Console is also included in our Streamlabs Ultra subscription. If you're using Streamlabs Console this way, please make sure you set up your Streamlabs ID then log into the Streamlabs Console with your Streamlabs ID rather than your Twitch.

sorry late reply, i work from home 🙂 working on like 10 servers right now lol... you can try a Revo Uninstall on it... it will make sure it will remove ANY thing left behind by streamlabs, then restart.. then reinstall

otherwise, id also ask if anything appeared in your Event Viewer, Windows Logs, Applications, it will show an event ID of any application not starting, hanging, or any error

Like for me i do 1080p 60fps with 2600, (mine is low because is share internet and our Up is 10Mbps), so im being considerate... and it's not so bad. Because sure everyone wants to stream the Highest of Qualities, but you need to think of your viewers, they come for content as well.. Not all viewers can watch at 1080 or higher. So quality wont matter alot for many viewers in a way. 🙂

Hi, I'm trying to use Streamlabs Mobile on iPhone iOS. Creating a custom scene on blank canvas, add custom item -> URL. Hit Save and the preview shows up okay. But when the app is then closed, on relaunch of app the scene disappears. Have to create the scene each time app is closed and opened.. is there any workaround. Not sure if it shows up here, but there has to be some setting where it saves.. Otherwise, just like gaming apps, if you force close an app or exit incorrectly it will not save features (given functionality of an app). Try to exit the application safely instead of force closing, it may make a difference... I have an android, and i just hit my "<" twice to exit the app, im not too familiar with iOS

I tried uninstall and reinstall. It prompts to create an account or “just looking”. I think I chose the 2nd option on initial install and that was the reason nothing was being saved. Hi i am facing this issue, whenever running streamlabs alongside microsoft flight simulator, it is only happening when the razer blackshark headset is activated and being used, the issue isn't there with my desktop speakers, but then if streamlabs is not open everything else is working fine here i attach a video to show you what is going on exactly, as you see at the end all the media sources work fine once i exit msfs but while msfs is running some media sources work and some cause glitchy audio where they dont work at all, you just see them not hear them

i have been in contact with microsoft flight sim dev team who seem sure its not msfs causing the issue, ive also submitted a ticket to razer support, it's interesting this is only happening though on this game and no other game i dont understand how some media sources are working but some are not, but yet if i exit msfs all media sources have audio again

Hello everyone. I will apologize early as I am a new streamer. I downloaded Streamlabs yesterday and watched a couple of videos to get the basics setup. I signed up for Ultra because I want to also broadcast to YouTube as well as Twitch but for some reason I couldn't get it to broadcast to both. Not sure what I am doing wrong. @digital drum We would suggest logging out of Streamlabs and all Streamlabs software that you may be using.
Then please follow this guide to disconnect your streaming service from Streamlabs: https://streamlabs.com/content-hub/post/how-to-disconnect-your-streamlabs-account Once you have done this, please log in again.

when you press "go live" there should be toggles on the right hand side to turn on. if they're both on then you should be able to multistream. Otherwise you could link your Discord to your Streamlabs so that way you can have access to the ultra channel

To do this, you'd have not use the Alert Box Widget and instead use two different Browser Sources:

1. Go to the Alert Box page on the Streamlabs website: https://streamlabs.com/dashboard#/alertbox
2. Click Filter Events. Uncheck everything except for Follows.
3. Copy the Widget URL and add a Browser Source and paste in that URL.
4. Go back to the Filter Events button, uncheck Follows and check everythjing else.
5. Copy the Widget URL and add a new Browser Source (don't reuse the existing one 😉 ) and paste in that URL.
6. Viola!

lol forgive me i just woke up... rn.. im a fellow streamer, but it sounds to me MS Simulator glitching on sound. You mentioned your headset and SL.. how are you playing the game.. Windowed? Try Borderless Windowed or full screen (this will make you alt tab of course), because i've had this glitch before with other games in past. It's usually related to games in specific view modes. If you think it is an SL issue, you can try troubleshooting with other streaming platforms such as OBS, to make sure it is NOT a stream platform issue. I use a different stream/recording platform, not related to here and i think it is the forbidden name as it is a rival of StreamLabs... But other stream platforms work different on games. Did you try those solutions at the beginning of this response?

if it also happens with OBS, then sounds related to Audio Drivers too... you can try to update your Audio Drivers from your Motherboard Manufacturer.. never let windows modify your audio drivers or hardware drivers. it can bork things

Your default browser in Windows is causing issues with logging into Streamlabs Desktop. The login popup relies on the default browser set in Windows, so you won't be able to log in if it's blocked. Follow these steps to fix it:

1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard or go bottom left and click the Windows logo.
2. Search for "default apps". It may be different in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
3. Find the default apps section and close Streamlabs Desktop

For some reason, when I stream games like TF2, I get stuttering that also affects my mouse/aim, but when I stream VRChat (Using a Valve Index and all), it streams perfectly just fine. When I look at task manager, it says cpu/gpu/memory are all running at around 50% when I'm streaming TF2 and I have VSeeFace on, yet I'm getting stuttering and lag?

hmmm trying to find something similar or issue on reddit, because yah you should stream fine with VRC on that, but it's only TF2 you are having issue with... There are some forums on reddit with stuttering and lag, even when users record, not stream. So could be TF2 related as well. Just like i helped someone with MS Flight Sim, and we thought it was SL, but there were reddit pages filled to brim pointing at MS Flight Sim for him.

I did a test stream like last night right after restarting my pc, and tf2 ran smooth like butter

before the test stream, how long was the computer up for.. like hours, because yah almost like what brose said "turn it of and on again" a restart is a refresh of an OS caching, and all other services... so that is why it will run smooth after like butter... but if your PC was up for a while and stuttered, something else is going on in your PC causing RSS (Resources) usage.

I'm using the Collab Cam function, and it works perfectly on my (host) side. But none of my guests can see my webcam. I did a test where I join a colab link with my own phone, and I get the same problem, I can't see the hosts webcam. I also tried to join the host link via my computer, and the same thing happens; I can't see the host. There is only a black screen on the Host's webcam.

There wouldn't be a way afaik to do that where it just shows up on your end without having the actual file launched. for obs or streamlabs, you can make show up on your overlay, but not like on your monitor itself

actually i feel really stupid, streamlabels is like your counter that you have.... If you can have your counter update a text file, and that text file is closed. You can have that output be displayed on screen. No need for a widget or plugin. it just needs to load text from file, here is my setup from a diff streaming software i use. and Streamlabs setup. @humble gale refer this to a reference

lol best thing to see when i first wake up... also you may want to do window capture of your MP4, because that playing just the audio makes sense. to get video, you need to window capture your media player

because if you are NOT viewing the video, of course it will only grab the sound... if you are viewing it, in a media player it will capture video

Nope not only one... the Auto Update borked the Auto Installer.... Please Redownload Streamlabels and reinstall manually. It will fix install path, but you need to point to your output folder again

if you dont have a PC and you are doing from console, Xbox is the only one that would support the streamlabs streaming, but yes, ultra only

Hello, my first time trying to stream. I purchased a Insignia RCA to HDMI converter to try to play Nintendo 64 on stream. I have got as far as audio and video in my Imac streamlabs desktop, but no matter what I try, there is an echo when I try to listen to the audio that is being input to the desktop. also if I go live the audio for the game is no good, my microphone works properly but game audio is a mess. I would try again but don’t immediately start the stream again. Make sure that you are offline on Twitch before starting the stream again.

I mean, i know a lot of affiliate levels that stream regular over 6000 bitrate :D, there only starts to be issues with twitch itself if over 7000. But another consideration is the higher it is, the more potential watchers with a low connection get filtered out.

That is correct, but there isnt a hard limit at the 6000. Heck, I even know an affiliate freind who streams at 7,600 average and doesn't get any issues. I wouldn't go that high due to locking people out of being able to watch, though.

Hello, I successfully linked my youtube to the streamlabs desktop application, and I had a successful stream. However, when I go to the website and try to set up the tipping, it says "❗ Link a streaming platform to activate your tip page". I then redirect to the settings tab for linking socials, and I click on "Merge" within the YouTube collon, I successfully log-in and connect, but when I get redirected back I get sent to the "Account Settings" tab, and nothing happens. Streamlabs Console is a paid subscription service. You would need to log into the Streamlabs Console site, click your PFP in the upper right, choose Account Settings, then scroll down and choose either the Monthly or Annual plan.

Streamlabs Console is also included in our Streamlabs Ultra subscription. If you're using Streamlabs Console this way, please make sure you set up your Streamlabs ID then log into the Streamlabs Console with your Streamlabs ID rather than your Twitch.

Maybe I haven't read that far back yet.

Create a new scene called Intermission and in that scene add an image source or text source to say something like, "I'm on a break, back soon!". You can assign hotkeys on Streamlabs Desktop to swatch scenes.

Hi everyone, Hope everyone is doing well this evening. I changed my youtube username and now it wont let me go live using streamlabs because its still attached to the old username. How can I fix it?

Log out of Streamlabs Desktop, wait a minute, and then log back in in Streamlabs Desktop.

Click the :gear: at the bottom left of Streamlabs Desktop. Then the logout button should be at the bottom left of the popup as shown:
