Then you would only see alerts for YouTube. If you want to work on alerts for Twitch, then switch over to your Twitch using that menu. Or log out and log in with your Twitch. The Alert Box web page will only show you alerts for the platform you logged in with.

hello! i’m having an issue with my alertbox and mini feed not updating. i streamed for the first time in 4 months last night and gained some followers during the stream and noticed my alertbox wasnt activating and my mini feed wasn’t updating. despite this, my stream label for total followers and subs was still updating like normal. i notice the old notifications in my mini feed are “greyed out” (they turn bold again when i click on them) i’m not sure if that means anything though. my creator dashboard in twitch reports the followers, but my stream summery in streamlabs dashboard says i gained no followers. when i test my alertbox they all show up just fine. i’ve done some troubleshooting but don’t think anything has worked although i haven’t gotten any new notifications to test it. if anyone has any advice let me know!

That usually mean either you logged in with your TikTok before; TikTok forces the output to be in Portrait format. Or for some reason, you swapped the values on the Output Resolution.

If you're currently live, end your stream.

The in Streamlabs Desktop go to Settings > Video and swap the values on the Output Resolution.

Refreshing the connection between Streamlabs and the platform will resolve this.

Please run the Twitch Test (see the next post) using Medium or Long duration and select many ingest in your area, not just the one closest to you. At the end, please screen shot the results.

Be sure to run the test for either Medium or Long, as short won't give you the most accurate results and be sure to select your region from the listed options (if the regions are not applicable to you, please select 5-6 servers that are near you). You're looking for at least a quality of 84.
Once you've found a good server go to Settings > Stream > Stream to custom ingest and you can manually select your server.

Streamlabs Console doesn't have a Mini Feed like the desktop version. If you want to see your Mini Feed, just open the Recent Events page on the Streamlabs web site.

Okay, thanks for confirming. Please quit all applications and reboot your PC. The go here https://streamlabs.com/ and download a fresh installer.

Then run the installer as administrator and let install over your existing installation. At the end of the installer, don't let it launch Streamlabs Desktop but rather quit the installer and reboot your PC again. Then once its back up, launch Streamlabs Desktop and let me know how it goes.

Okay, those are some good quality numbers. In Streamlabs Desktop, go to Settings > Stream and scroll all the way to the bottom and click Stream to custom ingest and choose the Canadian city next closest to you and see how the next stream goes. If you still experience dropped frames, and you're using wired ethernet, I would swap out, if you can, the ethernet cables and try again. If you still have dropped frames, that would indicate an issue between you and the ingest and you'd need to reach out to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and explain that you're live streaming to Twitch and are experiencing network issues and see if they can check things. Note some techs hear 'streaming' and think you're trying to watch Netflix.

this has been happening since the first time i streamed - the stream cuts short after an 1h 20min, and then it starts back up after 5 minutes according to one of my friends who watched and it streams again for about 30-50 minutes, ends, starts, and it repeats until i end the stream myself. It going to be something likely outside your control. It might take a few calls or politely escalate to second level. It’s going to be a network issue.

Since you haven’t told me what’s exactly happening, here are two possible solutions:

If you don’t have a button for Twitch,

You have recording only mode enabled.

Settings > General > Uncheck the "Disable Livestreaming Features"

Or if the button for Twitch doesn’t respond,

Your default browser in Windows is causing issues with logging into Streamlabs Desktop. The login popup relies on the default browser set in Windows, so you won't be able to log in if it's blocked. Follow these steps to fix it:

1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard or go bottom left and click the Windows logo.
2. Search for "default apps". It may be different in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
3. Find the default apps section and close Streamlabs Desktop

Your default browser in Windows is causing issues with logging into Streamlabs Desktop. The login popup relies on the default browser set in Windows, so you won't be able to log in if it's blocked. Follow these steps to fix it:

1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard or go bottom left and click the Windows logo.
2. Search for "default apps". It may be different in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
3. Find the default apps section and close Streamlabs Desktop

There’s always going to be some delay. Streaming isn’t instantaneous. It takes time to encode the frames, transmit them to the platform, for the platform to process them and deliver them to the viewer.

Is there something going on with streamlabs that I don't know about? I streamed yesterday and everything was fine. Now my sound alerts just suddenly AREN'T working. I googled the issue and it said to leave it on Monitor Only (Mute Output) which it has been set to this whole time. SO I did that and my viewers can now hear the soundalerts, but I can't.

Only my problem may be a little differently.
Previously I had been ONLY using desktop audio - which tracks EVERYTHING audio on my PC; from spotify, games, my browser, to the usb plugging/unplugging back in sound. Which I thought would get very annoying for viewers, of course. So I tried using the application audio which seemed to be WAY better, cause I could control everything manually and aside from each other... But it seems to have broken my sound alerts - if I make it so that the alerts get monitored by Streamlabs, I cannot hear it, but viewers can. If I deselect it, I can hear it but they cannot. This has been really tricky to navigate recently and I know perhaps because it's in BETA, it's still getting ironed out...The only option I have is it go back to desktop audio which... again, causes all of the previous issues I was trying to avoid

For me, this is what was triggering the differences. If it's ON: viewers can hear, I can't. If it's OFF: I can hear, they cannot.

That has always been selected and ALWAYS worked until today. Trust me, I have tried everything that I can think of. I ALWAYS do a google search for these thing BEFORE reaching out for help.

The last time Streamlabs broke this bad for me, which was a couple months ago, I got SOOOOO frustrated that NO ONE could help me, that I ended up doing a factory reset of my laptop. I even tried uninstalling streamlabs, then going into the registry and deleting the folder for it, restarted my laptop, and reinstalled it thinking it was a completelying clean uninstall and reinstall. Nope. EVERYTHING was still there. SO I finally said eff this and factory reset my laptop. It was SUCH a nightmare. Sure it fixed my issue but I had to back EVERYTHING up onto my external harddrive and then reinstall EVERYTHING Took me 2 days. I lost 2 days of straeming because of ti. I was NOT happy.

when you get it working download veeam agent for windows, its free. Then do a full backup of the system. You can always go back to when it was working without resetting.

Ok. BUt I'm to the point where I'm going to factory reset. If OBS was NOT such a buggar to try to set up, I would be using THAT. The ONLY way I can hear them is if I take the checkmark out of the box that says "Controle Sounds Alerts Volume through Streamlabs" But then they're so frakking loud that they scare the bejesus outta me and hurt my ears. So I went into my sound alerts dashboard and dropped EVERYTHING to 30% and it was perfect testing it in the dashboard but the volume didn't change at ALL on my streamlabs when I tested it there. Omg, I'm about to give up.

Sorry, I’m watching movies. This happens sometimes with Windows. The devices will get remunerated and you have to go and switch the audio monitoring device to something else and then switch it back. The problem is the way Windows process updates.

I unchecked "Control audio via Streamlabs Desktop" and a) I can hear them (though I'm not sure my viewers can because I'm not streaming) and b) they're not deafening me anymore. I went into my computer volume mixer and suddently saw these two OBS sound things. i was like.. where did these come from? So I dropped them both to 25%.

The ONLY temp solution I have found is this.

A) I had to take the check mark out of the box that allows me to contrl the volume via Steamlabs.
B) Going into my volume mixer in my computer, I suddenly for SOME reason, have these two new OBS listings. Idk WHERE they came from but they were NOT there yesterday as I went into my sound settings when streamlabs was running while I was streaming. (I had to adjust the game volume since there was not settings to lower volume in game). When I fiddled with these and dropped them to 25% now they're not deafening me. (edited)

Track 1 is what the stream hears. The other tracks are for editing. If you’re using Twitch vod track and don’t want the audiovisual the vod, uncheck track 2. If you don’t have track 1 checked, no one will hear anything.

I’d turn off dynamic bit rate. If you are dropping frames, there is a network issue between you and the ingest. What platform are you streaming with and please don’t ping those not actively assisting you. I’m in bed, reading.

streamlabels should work. if it is only updating when you close Streamlabs Desktop then I would log out and follow this guide https://streamlabs.com/content-hub/post/how-to-disconnect-your-streamlabs-account. Then log back in and see if it live updates.

Streamlabs Console is a paid subscription service. You would need to log into the Streamlabs Console site, click your PFP in the upper right, choose Account Settings, then scroll down and choose either the Monthly or Annual plan.

Streamlabs Console is also included in our Streamlabs Ultra subscription. If you're using Streamlabs Console this way, please make sure you set up your Streamlabs ID then log into the Streamlabs Console with your Streamlabs ID rather than your Twitch.

Possible that you have the alert box sounds muted. Go here https://streamlabs.com/dashboard#/recentevents and look at the icons at the top right. If you see a red speaker icon with a slash through it, your alert box sounds are muted. Click that red speaker to unmute them.

So you’re controlling that audio via OBS for your alert box source? If so then change your audio monitoring device to something else, restart Streamlabs Desktop, then switch it back to the desired device.

Hello all, I'm new in here and not sure if anyone can help me with this specific issue. I started streaming 2 months ago and I have yet to figure out how to just basically capture my teammates audio on stream? I have looked up, read, troubleshoot and called multiple people and things to fix this issue already and can't seem to find a resolution. I'm on an Xbox Series X, streaming to Twitch, using Streamlabs Console and also using my laptop on the side, with a plugged in Headset. I've heard I needed an ElGato Capture Card with a Chat Link externally plugged up for this to work, and it hasn't helped any. Any guesses what could be the issue.??

However I also just read that Twitch with Streamlabs doesn't require an external Capture Card anymore if you're streaming from an Xbox Series X? And I'm also chatting through Discord while streaming with my cross platform friends, if that makes matters worse or better. I appreciate everyone's help on this subject.

it sounds like your GPU is being overloaded if when capping your frames it's fine. TBH if you are streaming and playing from the same PC, you should just cap your frames to the refresh rate of your monitor. This way you can give your GPU "breathing room" for unexpected events

Unable to stream while playing, I just downloaded steamlabs obs and test the game but as soon as opened GTA 5 the internet speed drops , I don't download anything but game slows the internet. You need to reduce the local on your video card. I would set the refresh rate of your monitor to 120hz and can the in game fps to 12 as well. 120 divides by 60 evenly.

240 is way to high. Just go with 120. Or reduce the resolution you’re streaming at. You’re giving your video card too much work.

Stream and see how it goes. If you still have skipped frames, I suggest dropping the output resolution down to 1920x1080 and setting the game resolution to the same.

Please run this twitch test tool to find out the best server (https://r1ch.net/projects/twitchtest). Be sure to run the test for either Medium or Long, as short won't give you the most accurate results and be sure to select your region from the listed options (if the regions are not applicable to you, please select 5-6 servers that are near you). You're looking for at least a quality of 84.
Once you've found a good server go to Settings > Stream > Stream to custom ingest and you can manually select your server.

Typically cam links are used on desktop computers. A phone’s operating system might not be captor using the camera that way. I’d wonder over to the Elgato discord and see if anyone there has any advice for you.

So i'm trying to get access to my dashboard on chrome to use the twitch panel maker and mess around with settings. However now streamlabs is forcing me to go through this onboarding process as seen in the image attached. However, upon completing the onbaording process it gives me a "Streamlabs cannot connect" error on the website and I cannot proceed. I have tried restarting my modem and router, tried using different web browsers (opera, chrome, edge), along with trying from my phone on both chrome and safari to acces but all give the same issue. How do I go about fixing this so i can actually access my dashboard in my web browser?

Well, besides those low specifications, Streamlabs Desktop isn’t supported on Windows 8.1. Your hardware is under powered for what you’re trying to with it.

If you’ve already changed the monitor refresh rate to 120hz, about the only thing you can do is reduce the output resolution and reduce the resolution that the game runs in to match. I’d suggest going to 1920x1080.

I mean you can use the desktop program using the xbox app and streaming that way and then screen capping what it's doing if you don't want to do it directly through the console, but in general if you have a capture card you would be able to use the desktop program no problem

Hi, I had a problem recently with follow alerts, first of all the new follows dont appear on my Recent Events list, so they dont appear in my OBS/Stream as an alert, when I test the alert it appears and all other alerts work properly (Bits, Suscription, etc.) but the follow one when someone follows doesnt work for some weird reason (but the test one does), I have tried everything, resetting the API, relogging, reconnecting from Twitch and still doesnt work, any clue why this happens and how to fix it?

hi everyone - my streams have been disconnecting about 2.5 hrs into my stream. today i received this error message. encoder nvidia nvenc h.264 (ffmpeg) is taking too long to encode (timeout: 5 sec) . has anyone seen this before? thank you for your help.

Odds are your encoder is slowly becoming overloaded. Typically this is because you’re trying to put too much strain on your GPU by encoding at a higher resolution than your GPU can handle.

Hi Orsuna! Thank you for helping. my poor gpu 😭 . do you recommend that i reduce my resolution in game and in streamlabs? i play on a extra wide monitor. i am thinking its causing the issue. I have a 3080. sorry with the follow up question.

im having a problem where it is only showing this screen and wont let me do anything else

i cant record or anything, wont let me capture my game or mess with setting at all

I can go thru the layouts and mess with those but still nothing pops up on the editor screen if u know the issue or can help pls dm me

so if you guys are having trouble with your mini-feed not working all you have to do is sign out of streamlabs desktop and the website close both then go to twitch and go to connections and disconnect streamlabs from twitch the sign back into streamlabs with your twitch credentials

it worked for me

but make sure to have someone follow you to test if it works

I have a problem when I stream madden, And I play other people. Suddenly out of nowhere only the video coming through, like my gameplay, starts lagging . It becomes unwatchable for people. I really need help.

I had a very similar problem. I dont have a complete fix at this point lol BUUUUUT. I think you need to go to your stream manager on twitch, find where it talks about their "new alert boxes" and you have to make a set in there. You dont have to use theirs but for some reason you have to have 1/10 instead of 0/10 or they dont pop up

that being said, i still have no idea what im doing. cause now i have 3 alerts at once for a follow buuuut better than none? if i figure out more ill come back and message

before you put bit rate to 6k... what is your upload speed? i just watched a whole vid on yt about it

because i have horrible upload speed here during the day... (i swear my internet company lowers my speed to put less strain on grid for heating) but at night i get 12 upload. during the day i get 3.2 so i have to swap my bitrate back and forth ive learned

I have it on 1/10 and on already but inside of it I have most of em disabled (like the follow, sub, bits ones) but for example sub and bits work well but follows doesnt lol

You have to enable them

If they’re disabled, they won’t show. Then you have to reset them basically. Re-enter the browser source.
