Yellow border is apart of Windows 10 capture hook, you can try using DXDGI for capture method within the Window source capture settings. The yellow border doesn’t appear on stream. It’s there to notate that that window or screen is being captured or recorded.

I'm having trouble with Stream Labels. On my recent follower one, it's not finding any of my followers more recent than 3 years ago, even though I have several new followers as of yesterday. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, disconnecting and reconnecting Streamlabs OBS, and even installing the separate Stream Labels app and trying that, but nothing works. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I would remove the Alert Box source from every scene that has it, wait a few minutes, quit Streamlabs Desktop, wait another few minutes, launch Streamlabs Desktop, and add the Alert Box widget back to just one scene; making sure the Alert Box source is at the top of the Source list for that scene. Then in Streamlabs Desktop as well, go to Settings > Advanced > Sources and uncheck Enable Browser Source Hardware Acceleration, save the settings and restart Streamlabs Desktop again and then test the alerts.

I was wondering if anyone else had a similar experince. for the last couple months streamlabs OBS will randomly fail to detect audio from my capture card but will still pick up video from said card. currently the only fix I know is going to windows sound setting > go to recording tab > disable the capture card and then re-enable it. After I do that streamlabs will then notice the audio from the capture card. is there a way to stop this from happening at all?

{1} Click your Start Menu in Windows and type "Change system sounds" and hit enter. Click the Playback tab and/or Recording tab and right-click your microphone/headphones and click Properties. Click the Advanced Tab and uncheck the box for Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device. You should also do this for your microphone/headphones under the respective tab.

Hi,
My setup is a RTX 3090 and a AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processor with 32GB of RAM, I streamed valorant and fortnite completely fine, but when I stream Call of Duty, Streamlabs is dropping up to 60% of frames, I have bitrate set to 4500, Preset to Quality, resolution set to 720p60fps.

My call of duty settings are low, is there anything I could be missing that is causing my streamlabs to skip frames on Call of Duty?

Hi everyone, I recently came back into twitch and wanted to stream again. But i notice a little problem as the stream goes on and some new friends follows me.

The mini feed doesn't update itself and stay stuck at the last followers (as you can see on the screenshot). But that's not all, I tried most of the solutions on Youtube and the website but the widget & notifications are supposed to work !

Exemple : when i try to test some widget, i get the sound and the widget on the screen, and on the stream as i tested it on live but still no update for new followers, Nothing in the chat (as it used to be i believe when i stopped streaming)

There is also No update in the dashboard about the followers (but there is about the viewers or people typing in chat so it looks like it's all about followers atm)

I tried to log in & out / get new widget & sources / I completly deleted streamlabs from my computer & downloaded it again. I haven't tried a new account but I might try tomorrow

If anyone can help me get this fixed I would really appreciate it ! Thanks for those who'll try to help !

Be sure to run the test for either Medium or Long, as short won't give you the most accurate results and be sure to select your region from the listed options (if the regions are not applicable to you, please select 5-6 servers that are near you). You're looking for at least a quality of 84.
Once you've found a good server go to Settings > Stream > Stream to custom ingest and you can manually select your server.

Okay, interesting. I would use the stream to custom destination button and then pick Twitch and choose any of the ingests above with a score of 95 or better and see if the issue remains. If not, it’s likely something in the path of the internet between you and the auto selected ingest.

That makes it sound like, to me at least, that i can make different alert box themes (or widget themes) for every scene collection, save, and whenever i swap they also swap

Say i have one for Metroid, one for Sonic and one for Mega man just as an example. Without me having to into the dashboard and changing that way.

Refreshing the connection between Streamlabs and the platform will resolve this.

Don't skip the log out steps! To log out of the Streamlabs web site, click your PFP in the upper right corner of the web site and choose Log out. See the image below on how to log out in Streamlabs Desktop.

Seems like the issue might lie with your ISP. I’d call them and explain that you are live streaming to Twitch and are experiencing network disconnections and low throughput. Be persistent as call screeners stop listening when they hear “streaming” and think you are needing help watching Netflix.

It might take a while to get this resolved with them so be patient. I get that it’s frustrating. I went through this a few years ago with Spectrum and the eventually found broken connections on the cable coming into my building.

The only thing that has worked at the moment was enabling the option to change bitrate when it starts dropping frames, but it makes my bitrate range between 1k and 6k

Hi, I would like to be able to record the games I play with the audio from my game/desktop as well as the audio from my mic. I was able to record in game audio and voice, but it didn't record my microphone's audio which was a separate source and it appeared to be picking up my mic audio in OBS, but it can't be heard in the video. My adobe premiere only shows 1 audio track which is from the game itself

Do you perhaps have Unlimited Alert Moderation Delay enabled? If so, disable that setting. Please go here https://streamlabs.com/dashboard#/alertbox and if you have Unlimited Alert Moderation Delay enabled, disabled it then click Save Settings at the bottom of the page. Also go here https://streamlabs.com/dashboard#/recentevents and make sure your alerts are not paused. Never got a response for this so posting again, as the problem persists: Hey everyone, good morning. I have a dual monitor setup that I use for gameplay and streaming. SLOBS is on my left-side monitor, my game is on my right-side monitor. When I click off of SLOBS to go play my game, the EQ monitor bars and my stream avatars freeze in my SLOBS preview window. Okay, thanks. It’s weird that the alerts don’t show in the preview window but do on the launch window. Let’s refresh the connection between Twitch and Streamlabs just to be safe.

Please logout of Streamlabs Desktop and quit it. If you also use the standalone Streamlabels app, log out there too and quit it.

Please log out of the Streamlabs web site by clicking the PFP in the upper right and choose Lout out. Then click;eat the cache in that web browser and quit the web browser. Do this on every device you access the Streamlabs web site.

Do you also use OBS Studio? If so and you have custom docks using the Streamlabs web site, log out in each and every dock, and quit OBS Studio.

At the end of the guide, launch Streamlabs Desktop, log in with your Twitch, and reply that follow alert. Let me know if you see the replay in the preview window.

Once the installer is fully downloaded, launch it as administrator and let it installer your existing installation. No need to uninstall anything.

At the end of the installer, don’t let it launch Streamlabs Desktop, but rather quit the installer and reboot your PC.

Once your PC is back up, please perform a clean install of your GPU drivers, see next post. After that is done, reboot again then finally test again.

Go to the Stream Manager on Twitch and see if you can end the stem there. Then log out of the Streamlabs Console web site, clear the cache in the web browser, restart the web browser, log back in t the Streamlabs Console web site.

Then…

On the Streamlabs Console web site, in your project, click Reset to default on the Game Capture, save the project, and try again.

If the issue persists, remove the Game Capture, save the project, add Game Capture back, save the project, and try again.

Note that the Account Privacy setting on YouTube does affect how subscription alerts are detected. This is due to a privacy setting on YouTube and cannot be 'fixed' inside Streamlabs.

By default, YouTube accounts have their subscriptions set to Private. This means if a someone subscribes to your channel, Streamlabs can't detect that subscription and thus won't alert you.

The subscriber (the person watching your live stream), would need to make the subscriptions Public before subscribing to your channel in order for Streamlabs to detect the event and alert you.

You can see this setting here: https://www.youtube.com/account_privacy

👉🏻 ** And remember that this setting on your account does not matter in this case.

The person clicking the subscribe button on your channel would need to first change this setting.

Changing it afterwards would not cause an alert. And an unsubscribe/resubscribe also will not trigger an alert.**

how do I get a preview box to pop up? i clicked and dragged mini feed to the mini feed box in layout editor but nothing happened after saving the changes . for some reason my steamlabs reseted and all of my sources have been erased. Not only that but it keeps kicking me out of my account and forcing me to log back in every time. (It didn't use to do that). Having issues logging in/the login button is unresponsive?
Your default browser in Windows is causing issues with logging into Streamlabs Desktop. The login popup relies on the default browser set in Windows, so you won't be able to log in if it's blocked. Follow these steps to fix it:

  1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard or go bottom left and click the Windows logo.
  2. Search for "default apps". It may be different in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  3. Find the default apps section and close Streamlabs Desktop
  4. Change your default browser to a new browser. For example, if you're currently on Chrome, you'll want to change it to Edge or Firefox. (Screenshot for reference: https://prnt.sc/48ZdLCQCgi8D)
  5. Once you've changed this, reopen Streamlabs Desktop and see if the same issue occurs when attempting to log in.

Hello, hopefully someone can help:

My stream is lagging/rubberbanding/skating randomly, but internet should be fine.

I’ve been streaming CS at 720p60fps, my upload speed is 11.5Mbs/11500Kbps, 4500 bit rate on Streamlabs (Same thing happens on normal OBS).

For some reason CS will randomly rubberband/glide or just feel like .5ms delayed as if I’m lagging. Streamlabs shows no dropped frames, 5-9% CPU usage, and the bitrate does not randomly drop.

I have adjusted the CS setting of bandwidth allotment, and i am hardwired into my router. Could this be an issue with my PC that just needs upgrading?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor 3.60 GHz

Ram - CORSAIR 16GB 2X8 D4 3200 C16 RGB RAM

We are 4 people streaming from our own setups into one streamlabs stream. We have gameplay, voice audio and webcam of each player. We would love to also have the gameplay audio fom all of the players, so that we could share each and one screen/gameplay at one time, not all 4 gameplays and just sound from the guy who host the stream. Hello there - I am having issues hearing my sound alerts on my stream. My viewers cannot hear either. The animation comes up but I cannot hear the sound. I have recopied the browser source several times. everything on the soundalerts dashboard appears ok. green checks etc. There is a sound alerts line on my mixer which when the sound alert is played is moving as if there is sound. However it is not showing on the Desktop audio/Headphones line. This hasn't been working for quite a while and nothing has changed. I have checked with the sound alerts discord as well and they don't believe it to be an issue with Sound alerts. HELP!

@topaz jasper streamlabs desktop can't do this, but if you're using obs-studio, you could use https://vdo.ninja as well as obs-studio's per-application audio capture and multiple audio monitors with the audio monitor plugin + at least 1 virtual audio cable with the vb-audio CABLE application

with vdo.ninja, you can send video from any dshow video device and audio from any dshow audio device, so you can use the real camera + obs-studio's virtual camera for the video feeds, plus their real microphones for audio, plus the vb-audio cable virtual audio device for game audio (now that i described it, it seems the audio monitor plugin won't be necessary, so streamlabs desktop might be usable here too)

Click your Start Menu in Windows and type "Change system sounds" and hit enter. Click the Playback tab and/or Recording tab and right-click your microphone/headphones and click Properties. Click the Advanced Tab and uncheck the box for Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device. You should also do this for your microphone/headphones under the respective tab. Also on the Enhancements tab, make sure nothing there is checked.

Please log out of Streamlabs Desktop and quit it.

Then go to the Streamlabs web site and download a fresh installer.

Once the installer is fully downloaded, launch it as administrator and let it installer your existing installation. No need to uninstall anything.

At the end of the installer, don’t let it launch Streamlabs Desktop, but rather quit the installer and reboot your PC.

Did you go into the properties for the browser sources and tick the ‘Control audio via OBS’ option? If not, try that and see if that resolves your issue.

First, please delete your game capture and close Streamlabs Desktop.

Then go to the search in windows (🔎) and search this file path: C:\ProgramData\obs-studio-hook and then click on the folder that pops up.

Once you have done that you will see a bunch of files. If you can ignore those for a second and click on the program data folder (link: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/918160373264306206/918162974265466911/unknown.png?width=960&height=538). Then you should see the obs-studio-hook folder there and highlighted. Go ahead and delete the folder.

Now go ahead restart your PC and then right click Streamlabs Desktop and run as administrator. Then add a new game capture and see if that works for you.

Having issues logging in/the login button is unresponsive?
Your default browser in Windows is causing issues with logging into Streamlabs Desktop. The login popup relies on the default browser set in Windows, so you won't be able to log in if it's blocked. Follow these steps to fix it:

  1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard or go bottom left and click the Windows logo.
  2. Search for "default apps". It may be different in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  3. Find the default apps section and close Streamlabs Desktop
  4. Change your default browser to a new browser. For example, if you're currently on Chrome, you'll want to change it to Edge or Firefox. (Screenshot for reference: https://prnt.sc/48ZdLCQCgi8D)
  5. Once you've changed this, reopen Streamlabs Desktop and see if the same issue occurs when attempting to log in.

so, question. I see it states that the capture card issues were resolved, however... on streamlabs.. it does not show anything when I select my capture card. but works perfectly fine with obs. what am i missing? i run a dual pc setup, and this doesnt work anymore

hi friends, hoping you can help me, ran out of Google results. trying to work out a solution to have the chat overlay include new emotes without restarting everything. Chatters add an emote through redemption and I'd like it to show up in the overlay without (much) intervenion. I've got my overlay set to shutdown when not visible and reload when active, but nothing adds the new emote, including clearing cache. Thanks ❤️

Hello folks. i have an issue that i haven't been able to find on google. streamlabs shows that it can hear my mic audio, but when i click test audio its not playing anything back. if i record i can hear me, but if im in a game the mic audio doesn't seem to be recording. ive been using streamlabs for almost 2 years now and never had an issue. haven't changed any settings in the last year at least. thoughts?

How to remove Black Bars from your stream

  • In Windows Display Settings, you would need to make sure you have a 16:9 monitor resolution (Typically 1920x1080)
  • In the game you're playing, you would want the render resolution to be 16:9 as well. (Basically matching info from above)
  • In Streamlabs Desktop > Settings > Video > Base Resolution, that would also need to be 16:9 resolution (Same as above)

If any of those things are not being done, then your stream is not going to be true 16:9 and your game will have black bars.

  • You can select the capture source in your sources list > right click it > transform > fit/stretch to screen, should help```

I'm using Streamlabs Cloudbot. Is there any way to use the text that a viewer enters when using the command in the command response?

For example: I want to create a command that let's other streamers promote their channels in the chat, but I want to let them say what games they play and have it used in the command response.

So the command use would be: !promo Fortnite

And the command response would be: Everyone go follow {touser.name} here: {taget.url} if you enjoy watching people play Fortnite

I can't seem to find a variable for this

basically, every word corresponds to a position in the sentence the !command is {0}, then the first word after the command will be {1}, etc. So like if you !so someone and go "!so streamlabs" !so = {0} and streamabs = {1} and if you put another word after streamlabs it would be {2}

Make sure you’re launching Streamlabs Desktop as administrator. That should help.

If it’s happening even in OBS Studio, it sounds like an issue locally with your computer. I’d make sure that the camera is plugged into a USB 2.0 port on the back of the computer, not the front. Don’t use a USB 3.0 port and make sure the camera is not plugged into a USB Hub.
