Go ahead and launch Streamlabs Desktop and log in with your Twitch. Then go to the scene with the Alert Box. You don’t need to be live. And is the Twitch channel on your Discord profile the correct channel?

Sounds like you’re having issues with the resolution fields. The Base Resolution should be set to the same resolution as your monitor. The Output Resolution should be set to the resolution you want your stream. This is also common: If you’ve logged in with TikTok, the Output Resolution is forced in Portrait due the requirements of TikTok. If you’re now streaming to another platform, you’d have to go to Settings > Video and swap the values in the Output Resolution field.

And there is no way to make the stream bigger than the highest resolution of your monitor.

I signed up for Streamlabs Ultra like 2-3 weeks ago, and it's not 'sticking' to my StreamLab programs. Every program continues to nag me to join Ultra to access features, then I click on the button, it takes me to a Splash Page, then it seems to login and give me a success response, then I don't have the features still.

It's like my account is not all the way active. It's very frustrating. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but to seems to be an account configuration issue. Like I have access to TalkStudio and other features, but Themes and Overlays don't load and continually ask me to join Ultra.

Hey y'all. JUST got my very first SL obs setps done! figured out my headset audio issue, BUT, I have a question regarding visuals.

I'm using a capture card (unsure if that matters) and I'm using a laptop (it's what I got).

Is there any way for me to view my gameplay in full screen withOUT the overlays, while still having twitch see the overlays?

Right now, It's difficult to see in, say, an FPS game. I'm also coming from using my console to stream directly through Steamlabs Console to twitch. I'm used to having a full TV screen with no overlays on my end, only the viewer's.

To add more info to this, My view on the laptop is with the full overlay. I want the laptop view to be game ONLY and the full overlay to be Twitch only. Is this possible?

Having issues logging in/the login button is unresponsive?
Your default browser in Windows is causing issues with logging into Streamlabs Desktop. The login popup relies on the default browser set in Windows, so you won't be able to log in if it's blocked. Follow these steps to fix it:

1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard or go bottom left and click the Windows logo.
2. Search for "default apps". It may be different in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
3. Find the default apps section and close Streamlabs Desktop
4. Change your default browser to a new browser. For example, if you're currently on Chrome, you'll want to change it to Edge or Firefox. (Screenshot for reference: https://prnt.sc/48ZdLCQCgi8D)
5. Once you've changed this, reopen Streamlabs Desktop and see if the same issue occurs when attempting to log in.

Cap the in game frame rate to 120. Set the refresh rate of your monitor(s) to 120, and set the FPS in Streamlabs Desktop to 120. That allows the GPU to function more efficiently. Uncapped frame rates in games when streaming or recording is discouraged. 120 divides by 60 evenly.

for csgo/cs2, add -allow_third_party_software to launch options, like this image
for minecraft, either don't run certain mods/launchers, or use display capture

-Client & Pre-game lobby should utilize a Window capture source https://tinyurl.com/slobswc

Make sure the League Client window is selected in the Properties of the Capture Source.

Finally, I would also suggest running League of Legends in Borderless Windowed Mode.

Sounds like you’re having issues with the resolution fields. The Base Resolution should be set to the same resolution as your monitor. The Output Resolution should be set to the resolution you want your stream. This is also common: If you’ve logged in with TikTok, the Output Resolution is forced in Portrait due the requirements of TikTok. If you’re now streaming to another platform, you’d have to go to Settings > Video and swap the values in the Output Resolution field.

Alert Box plays audio via the Desktop Audio device. If you’d like to control that separately, go to the properties for the Alert Box, Source tab, click Control audio via OBS. Then change the audio monitoring on that source to Monitor & Output. If you still can’t hear it, change the Audio Monitoring device to something else, restart Streamlabs Desktop and change that back to three desired device.

I use SLOBS on my PC and Laptop on 2 different accounts on Twitch and for the past week Streamlabs has disconnected multiple times on both accounts. I can always reconnect instantly but needless to say it completely disrupts the stream and I lose all my viewers each time, which is incredibly frustrating when I am part of a raid train. My internet stays connected so Its not that. I googled this issue and several other people have experienced the same without it being resolved. Never encountered this problem before and used slobs for over 5 years. Everything is update to date.

The problem started a couple of weeks ago on my laptop on my second account (different log in) and just over a week ago on my main account on PC. I can't fathom whats causing it to disconnect. Is Streamlabs Desktop reporting dropped frames or is your stream disconnecting and reconnecting? Either way that’s a network issue between you and the ingest. I would at least follow the steps below to get a baseline of things. 👇

Please run this twitch test tool to find out the best server (https://r1ch.net/projects/twitchtest). Be sure to run the test for either Medium or Long, as short won't give you the most accurate results and be sure to select your region from the listed options (if the regions are not applicable to you, please select 5-6 servers that are near you). You're looking for at least a quality of 84.
Once you've found a good server go to Settings > Stream > Stream to custom ingest and you can manually select your server.

Sometimes it reconnects by itself and then sometimes I have to shut slobs down completely, and restart everything.

I did the test as suggested and selected 3 local servers, which all came out at quality 100. I'm not sure how to access the url of one of the servers, I assume I'm already connect to one of them?

Did you run the test with Medium or Long duration? If not, run it again with Medium duration. Short can give misleading results.
Also, do you have access to your cable modem and are you the only one using it? If so, I would shut down your PC, pull the power cord from the cable modem, leave it unplugged for at least 5 minutes, and then plug it back in. Once the cable modem is fully back up, boot up your PC and see how the next stream goes.
Streamlabs Desktop will automatically select the ingest closest to you. Though it could be there is an issue in the path between you and that ingest. If you still experience stream disconnects, go to Settings > Stream > Stream to custom ingest and set up the next closest Twitch ingest.

@kindred pewter depends on use case. this is a process of learning your video card and testing the various settings. Usually the default settings are pretty good. I can tell you that lowering the memory usage in games is a good idea if you are streaming games.

I have superfast fibre broadband, around 400d 40up. I have recently reset the router but I have to stress, whilst SLOBS disconnects my internet stays stable, I carry on gaming and in party chat without issue.
I ran a long test - all 3 100 Quality. The medium Test gave 100, 100, and a 93 quality.

If that’s the embedded chat dock in Streamlabs Desktop, that means you are live with a Private or Unlisted stream. With YouTube, the chat dock only works with a Public stream.

Hey all! I'm having an issue with something I'm working on. When loading a browser source that contains a form, the <select> elements are not displaying correcting. If you click on them you can then navigate the options using the up/down keys on your keyboard but the options pop-out never displays. The element doesn't show a focus ring either, however all the other form elements do. Is this a known issue? Is there a quick fix?

All right. I would log out in Streamlabs Desktop and quit Streamlabs Desktop. Go to your YouTube Studio and reset your stream key. Wait 5 minutes. Launch Streamlabs Desktop, go to Settings > Advanced > Network > Bind to IP and select the IP address of your computer in the drop down; usually starts with 192.168 or 10.10. Then click Done to save the settings, and log back in with your YouTube and see if you can go live.

I need some help, I'm having trouble with monitor/input lag on my second monitor while running cod. Anything I have up on my second monitor will lag, be it streamlabs or discord. Main monitor is 165hz, second monitor is 60hz. My build is a i5-11600k, rx6600 lite, 32gb ram, 1tb ssd, 600w psu (upgrading to 850w tomorrow). While I'm streaming, the video playback on streamlabs and mouse tracking will be fine, but ANY input is super delayed, be it clicking on a new scene, clicking a different server on discord, or hovering over something with the cursor.

Make sure the Follow alert is enabled. Make sure the Follow alert isn’t unchecked in the Filter Events button. On the Follow alert, make sure you have custom html/css disabled.

Also make sure that the Alert Box source is at the top of the source list. Otherwise it might be “hidden” underneath another source.

Go to the Recent Events page then click 📢 Live Events. On there should be the master volume for the Alert Box. Check that the volume level isn’t too low. Also check each alert and make sure each one has a sound file assigned and that the volume isn’t too low.
Do you happen to have the Alert Box as an item in the Mixer? If so make sure the Audio Monitoring is set to Monitor & Output.

Your default browser in Windows is causing issues with logging into Streamlabs Desktop. The login popup relies on the default browser set in Windows, so you won't be able to log in if it's blocked. Follow these steps to fix it:

Streamlabs didn’t lose the footage. Apparently YouTube will only keep the first 12 hours of a live stream.

How long can you live stream on YouTube? Technically, there's no time limit on a YouTube live stream. However, YouTube can only archive live streams up to 12 hours long. So, if you want your stream to be eligible for viewing at a later time or date, 12 hours is the maximum limit.

That’s what I’m was asking. Please log out in Streamlabs Desktop and quit it. The download a fresh installer from the Streamlabs web site. Then launch the installer as administrator and let it install over your existing installation. No need to uninstall first. At the end of the installer, don’t let it launch Streamlabs Desktop but rather quit the installer and reboot your PC. Once your PC is back up, please test again and let me know how it goes.

You can live stream as long as you want. YouTube will only archive the first 12 hours. I would research other platforms but be aware the automatically removed archived live streams to keep their storage costs low.

Please run this twitch test tool to find out the best server (https://r1ch.net/projects/twitchtest). Be sure to run the test for either Medium or Long, as short won't give you the most accurate results and be sure to select your region from the listed options (if the regions are not applicable to you, please select 5-6 servers that are near you). You're looking for at least a quality of 84.
Once you've found a good server go to Settings > Stream > Stream to custom ingest and you can manually select your server.

im streaming music in a small room 10 x 9 fooot. i want to have no lights on except my flashing strobe lights and derby lights. the camera is abot 7 feet from my dj booth . so im trying to create some atmosphere with dark room with flashing lights. .. problem is to get the whole back drop in which is a 10foot by 8 foot high wall tapestry behind me i need to have the cam at 100% which makes me huge, im so not comfy filling peoples screens entirely so i want to be like 25% true size, whilst keeping the whole back ground in situ. i know i can shrink cam window to my desired size, but that shrinks the back drop as well, so im the right size but then the backdrops not filling the screen. i cant use green screen as i have no lights on. so how do i do this. driving me insane... sounds so simple yet so complicated ..

Yes depending on how the application/game runs on your system. If the audio from the game is showing up in your mixer your audio can be captured separately using the track option under audio advance settings. Using audio capture for applications option is more useful when the audio does not show up in mixer. If you need more help lmk.

Freezing stream can be caused by a few factors: 1. your pc/system is overloaded. Closing unused applications and checking disc space can source this problem and fix it. 2. Your internet is bottlenecked/lagged and this can only be solved by closing unused applications that use internet and shutting down other devices on your network or by upgrading your bandwidth (call your isp) doing a speed test (google speed test for free tests) can source this problem 3. Your applications are out of date. Check for updates to streamlabs 4. The platform you stream to could have network issues. Check their status pages or down detector to see if anyone else is experiencing this issue.

Does this make sense? If you suspect a specific reason let me know and we can fix it together.

Ooo also 1 more thing your output settings may be too high for what your isp/bandwidth allows. Doing an optimization check for streaming output settings can help determine what’s best to use but I have a lot of experience fixing this and can help you manage bandwidth and output so that your stream runs smooth. The optimization check sometimes suggests settings that are a bit higher than needed and if you run a lot of dynamic graphics or widgets it can slow down the stream by a lot. I’ll be happy to help you further just let me know.

Hi! For music you will need to use either a music request widget (song request commands needed) or an outside sourced program (Spotify, iTunes etc) keep in mind copyright infringement risks so you will need to make sure VODS are not recoding the music by using a separate track under audio settings or by using one of those outside programs specifically twitch soundtrack. Kick & YouTube does not support that program. Do you need more info?

If for youtube they will automatically yellow mark your vod/recording (meaning no money can be made but they won’t charge or sue you lol)

It looks to me like you need to resize the window. There are two little rectangles. Your screen preview is taking up the whole view. Please reply (with my tag) if that was the cause. I will do my best to help further if that does not fix it.

SLOBS itself doesn’t control system audio. It’s your PC that controls audio and then SLOBS can be used to adjust it. @rare sphinx

Some things to try @delicate wedge

1. log out of SLOBS and log back in (just a quick reset)

2. or try under settings>general. Delete cache (it won’t delete your scenes/ safe to use)

3. On SL website go to widgets > alert box/ the thing you want to fix > disable the alert (toggle switch) scroll down & save. Re enable + save.

4. Copy each widget and add the url (as a browser source) for each item you are missing from your theme manually.

Most times if capture card suddenly stops operating correctly simple unplug and plug back in works. Check cords. Ensure you didn’t change any settings on device or PS.

Your default browser in Windows is causing issues with logging into Streamlabs Desktop. The login popup relies on the default browser set in Windows, so you won't be able to log in if it's blocked. Follow these steps to fix it:

2. Search for "default apps". It may be different in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
3. Find the default apps section and close Streamlabs Desktop

Skipping frames means the encoder is overloaded.

If you're using the X.264 encoder, check your CPU usage and if the usage is near 100%, I'd suggest using a different encoder, like your video card if you have one.

Also I'd suggest setting the monitor refresh rate to 60Hz or 120Hz, cap the in game FPS to 60 or 120, and set the FPS in Streamlabs Desktop to 60 or 120.

Uncapped in game FPS or high refresh rate monitors also cause this as their FPS and refresh rates don't divide evenly by 60.

Hey everyone. I'm literally sitting here in tears. It's been a really rough week. So please bare with me.

My friends stream VODs ended up COMPLETELY muted from beginning to end. So he added the Application Audio Capture (Beta) Source and set it up. Now his streams live and VOD are fine. So he assisted me in setting that up because he didn't want the same to happen to me, and now MINE are completely silent. We did a test record in streamlabs yesterday and it wasn't silent or muted ...nothing. The test recording was fine. I I have done about 6-7 test streams live on twitch this afternoon and every single one was silent. I have tried adjust every settings in the audio seciotn that I could think of. I even DELETED the desktop Audio source from ever scene because for some reason, my friend seems to think THAT was the issue, though it never was in the first place.

I can't stream until this is fixed... could someone PLEASE help me. 😢

My XBOX was set to process audio through a dolby video whatnot, but by changing that setting to "Stereo Uncompressed" the audio issue went away entirely. Hey there! Looking for some support. I have been streaming for about two years now and for the past two months my streams drop at about an hour or so in. When I try to connect back in they only last a few minutes. My internet is not down when this happens and the internet is working on my computer that I'm streaming from. I've already tried having my modem re-wired and that helped for one stream and then went back to disconnecting. The speed tests are all reporting normal as well so I'm really at a loss. Can anyone help me? I've never had this problem until just recently and nothing new has occurred to make this so.

Be sure to select Medium or Long duration. And don't just select the ingest nearest you. Select all the ones in your region.

Please run this twitch test tool to find out the best server (https://r1ch.net/projects/twitchtest). Be sure to run the test for either Medium or Long, as short won't give you the most accurate results and be sure to select your region from the listed options (if the regions are not applicable to you, please select 5-6 servers that are near you). You're looking for at least a quality of 84.
Once you've found a good server go to Settings > Stream > Stream to custom ingest and you can manually select your server.

Then clear the cache in your web brower, restart the whole web browser (don't just open a new window or tab), go back to the Streamlabs web site, log in with what ever platform you have merged (Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, or Trovo), and then go to the Tipping page. This may not help but please go through this guide https://streamlabs.com/content-hub/post/how-to-open-your-windows-firewall and then run the Twitch Test again.

If the Quality Score is still zero, you'll need to reach out to your ISP. Explain to them that you're live streaming to Twitch and are experiencing network disconnections. It may take a few calls to get them to look into the situation; some call screeners hear 'streaming' and think you're watching Netflix.

macOS does not have "desktop audio" capture the way we know it on Windows. To accomplish this, you will need third party software such as Blackhole or Loopback (costs $99)
