Having issues with your audio? Try the following solutions!

Make sure the audio source is not muted in the mixer on Streamlabs Desktop.

Some audio management software, like Nahimic 2, Sonic studio sound or motherboard audio software like Realtek HD Audio Manager or Sound Blaster Recon are known to cause issues. Try closing that kind of software, and also check Windows taskmanager if any processes with a similar name are running to be closed. If this doesn't work, try going in to your Windows Playback Devices in your Windows Audio Settings, right click on the sound device you are using and click on Properties, then go to the Advanced Tab and uncheck the box that says "Give exclusive mode applications priority" and that should resolve it.

Select manually the desktop audio device (audio settings), you use as default device in Windows Sound, not setting it to default. Alternatively you can set it to disabled and add in the scene you want desktop audio an Audio Output Capture and select the device that is set as default device in Windows Sound.

As a last resort, you can temporarily use an alternative program to capture audio like VoiceMeeter Banana. This program allows you to set it as the default device, and then use a virtual audio cable into Streamlabs Desktop to capture the desktop audio. Hey I just downloaded the Steamlabs OBS Update, and now it cuts off in middle of my recording for no reason. It was not doing it before the update. Why is that?
Edit: So if I was on 1 software, and try to switch to the game that is in windowed mode and then it cuts off there. This is not normal.

That could be due to a corrupt scene or source. Please make a new Scene Collection with a single scene and in that scene just place game capture then restart Streamlabs Desktop and monitor your CPU usage. If itās back to what you expect, then rebuild your scenes and source in this new scene collection then remove the old one once your satisfied with the new one.
it worked after i signed in to streamlabs account. problem was it was telling me my rtmp name was invalid instead of telling me i had to log in

I managed to get the culprit which I was having issues with. I have upgraded my CPU to Ryzen 5 5500 and RTX 2070 Super is performing really great with it. š No issues at all. š so it was an issue with the hardware not SLOBS

Ah, okay. TTS and sounds on mobile are definitely a problem as mobile doesnāt support a lot of the common sound file types. At least make sure that sounds you have as rewards are, if possible, in Wave format. TTS is going to be more tricky to fix, not sure if there is a good solution. You can put in a ticket but I canāt guarantee a resolution.

the stream is never real time. there is alwyas a bit of delay, you sending info to the streaming service and they need to process it.

Hey yall, I've had a couple of moments lately when streaming when Streamlabs just chooses to either freeze or just crash. But i never notice till I go to change my scene and then nothing happens. It won't stop till i close the application and then tells me that it will continue to record or stream if i click yes and Vis versa when i click no.

So i want to stream from my console and still have the chatbox and alerts, so i chose streamlabs. I went to their console website and set everything up. It said everything will work when I start my twitch stream, but the widgets and alerts, ect. are not showing up. As shown in the photos, everything is connected and set-up. Thanks

I notice there are a lot of the streamlabs themes are built for 16:9 aspect ratio. Are there themes that directly support larger aspect ratios? Doesnāt seem to be any way to filter searches on the website.

You can keep the assets if you have them locally stored. If you lose the assets after your subscription expires or is canceled, you will have resubscribe to download them again.

Dropped frames indicate a network issue either locally or externally to your cable modem. I would suggest shutting down your PC then pull the power cable on your cable modem and leave it unplugged for at least 5 minutes then plug it back in. Once the cable modem is fully up, boot your PC and see how your next stream goes. I would also run a bunch of speed tests and see if your upload speed is fluctuating.

it is a known issue and currently there is no workaround at this time unfortunately. You will need to monitor your Trovo chat via another method (like using your phone, or a web browser)

@rare kite Click your Start Menu in Windows and type "Change system sounds" and hit enter. Click the Playback tab and/or Recording tab and right-click your microphone/headphones and click Properties. Click the Advanced Tab and uncheck the box for Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device. You should also do this for your microphone/headphones under the respective tab.

- verify the card works in elgato software.
- make sure you have the 64-bit redistributables installed: https://streamlabs.com/content-hub/post/microsoft-visual-c-redistributables-2022-needed-for-streamlabs-desktop
- reboot your PC.
- make sure you launch streamlabs desktop by right-clicking the shortcut and selecting āRun as Administratorā.

It wonāt matter what streaming software you use, a MacBook Air wasnāt meant for heavy loads over long periods of time. Thatās why Apple introduced the M1 Pro and M1 Max and M1 Ultra. Different CPUs for different workloads.

I've suddenly had an issue lately where while attempting to stream to Twitch, my livestream doesn't display anything (not black screen, just shows my offline banner) even though it says I'm live on Twitch's website, and the VOD gets recorded just fine. This has been persistent for the past 2 months now, and I've tried:
- Restarting computer
- Streaming to custom ingest
- Making sure I'm not using Twitch's bandwidth test
- Running Streamlabs as administrator
- Changing up my encoder settings (between cpu and gpu)
- Updating my gpu drivers
- Does anyone know how to fix this?

you are playing COD, is a fast pace game, unless you are using encoding on your CPU and in an insane present you will sometimes notices blurry stuff.
you can reduce to 720p to try to minimize it, but in reality is a placebo, you will still notice

Hi, i do not know why but my rate control is forcing itself to CBR when I set it to VBR and start streaming. Now its causing trouble and im skipping frames due to "high cpu usage" even tho im only going at 14% useage
sad part was, i was streaming slime rancher and it ran fine. the second i quit the game, cpu usage jumped from 5% to 14-15% and started skipping frames

Chatbot or Cloudbot? If Chatbot, you have to be an Editor to add commands. If Cloudbot, it depends but usually only moderators can add commands.

"Chatbot or Cloudbot?" - ehh, that's a good question. She said "I added you as a moderator in the streamlabs chat bot" but I'm not sure she did exactly that, probably she wasn't sure too, never did that before. And showed me screenshot with "cloud bot" switcher.
And who is the "Regular"?
a regular isn't a moderator. it just means someone who is in your chat a lot. a mod would be someone on their channel itself (like on twitch)
but if you have access to the page screenshot she gave you shared access so you can make changes there in general

it just means when you changed stuff up in settings > stream on Streamlabs. if you didn't, i would just try relogging by pressing the š¤ at the bottom left > log back in. Then you may need to "log into the chat" again in the chatbox window and then I would test in your chat to see if you can see it

Then download a fresh installer of Streamlabs Desktop from the Streamlabs web site and run the installer as administrator. Let it install over your existing installation. At the end of the installer, donāt let it launch Streamlabs Desktop, but just quit the installer. Finally, reboot again then observe how it behaves. š¤š»

Hello, streamlabs is freezing my PC (Windows 10) every min or so, for about 10 seconds at a time. Testing its Streamlabs by closing, and reopening. Restarted PC ran fine for an hour or so.
Opening SL again the problems come back. Only hardware change i had was a new camera but it ran fine for 2 days then suddenly stopped. So i unplugged the cam today, and its still freezing.
It seems to be disconnecting my hardware then having windows re enable them. I can see the RGB turn off on all my devices at the same time, PC freezes. Then lights come back on and PC is fine.
Please quit Streamlabs Desktop and reboot your PC. Then download a fresh installer of Streamlabs Desktop from the Streamlabs web site and run the installer as administrator. Let it install over your existing installation. At the end of the installer, donāt let it launch Streamlabs Desktop, but just quit the installer. Finally, reboot again then observe how it behaves. I canāt guarantee this will resolve your issue as my gut tells me something else is at play on your system causing this issue.

Yep, I've done that 5 or six times in the last year, and it is never acted on
it just gets updated with more bad info. The current version of the official docs are about two years out of date

So here: let me sum up:
- The button to "locate my stream key" currently redirects to tiktok.com for at least some people, meaning the button effectively does not work for those people.
- In the past year or so, the process for getting a stream key has changed dozens of times, sometimes in a very short span. In addition, the process is completely different for some users over other users, meaning that some documentation may be *right* for some people and wrong for others.
- There does not appear to be a way to actively engage TikTok on the issue, nor is there a support email. Some users report that the support site for tiktok does not provide any response.
- There is plenty of misinformation online about this process. Users should be aware that Google Forms saying they will sign you up to an agency to get you tiktok stream keys are *all scams* and this has been confirmed by TikTok.
- In short: the process to be able to do this is highly internal to tiktok, so users should be aware that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to stream to TikTok using StreamLabs.
That's really it. Again, the issue is a TikTok issue, not a StreamLabs issue, but there's the info that hopefully youāthe staff and volunteersācan share to others who might be in the same situation. And here's something else that might assist you. There is an 'unofficial' TikTok LiveStudio discord which is actually run by real TikTok Staff. So far, they are the only actual TikTok staff I have been able to talk to, and the only avenue that might be successful for me (and I'll gladly let you know if it is!) However, their scope is related to the TikTok LiveStudio software, not StreamLabs. If you'd like I can drop that info here (or privately).

So windows did a "come to 11" startup again and like last time it set my interface to 42k requiring me to set it back to 48khz. In doing that I also doubled checked it in SL. But now the Sound Alerts site and even my scenes stinger transition makes no sound no matter if monitoring or not. I am so confused. They asked for a diagnostic report before and fixed it in less than 2 minutes.
Are you using the global audio settings (Settings -> Audio) or individual audio capture sources? Either way check to make sure you have the correct devices chosen. The monthly cumulative updates can sometime re-enumerate device IDās.
Us Volunteers donāt have access to the diagnostic reports so we muddle though best we can.
I did set them all back to monitor from my Line-1 from my rode ai-1. It's been working until the update. I checked both in global and source settings. for some reason the stinger isn't producing audio and sound alerts is broken. I don't stream until 8PM and it's almost 4. But [breathes] I hope we can figure this out.
Ah, you have an audio mixer at play? And the bars on the audio sources arenāt moving?
I have normal audio my mic and game are all working fine and even alert box seems to be functioning as normal. it's the 2 sound sources not seeming to work anymore. I tried refreshing the cache as well. My next try will be to try and re-apply them [file and source url]

You might also try logging out and back in in Streamlabs Desktop too.
And did your Streamlabs Desktop get updated to 1.113.1 or is it still on 1.12.5? Either is fine, just curious.
Nothing has worked so far. I remember they had me do something but I can't remember for the life of me. I have physical limitations on my memory

I removed and added a new URL but no avail. I can delete the stinger and remake it one sec.
Dropped frames indicate a network issue either internally or between you cable modem and the ingest. What platform are you streaming to?
I'm streaming to Twitch, but I stream other games and have no problem with dropped frames
Double check the audio monitoring on the sound alert source, maybe it needs to be monitor and outputā¦.

I streamed the Texas Chainsaw Massacre game and this issue happened. The stream was showing up at like 5 FPS it felt like but the game was smooth on my end
Is there any stream report or way to identify actually what was causing that drop in FPS?
So Streamlabs Desktop wasnāt reporting dropped frames, itās just the fps seemed to be lower, right?

Please follow exactly all the steps in this guide: https://streamlabs.com/content-hub/post/how-to-disconnect-your-streamlabs-account Including the log outs. You'll need to perform these when you not live.
š NOTE This will not go back and capture any events that were missed. You'll need a new event (new follow on Twitch, new subscriber on YouTube, etc) as verification. I can follow on Twitch or subscribe on YouTube for verification if you like.
Also note the guide has sections for the 4 platforms we have full integration with, Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and Trovo. So only follow the section for the platform you're using.

Best to set the monitors refresh rate, in game fps, and fps in Streamlabs desktop all to the same value, either 60 or 120.
And is the Twitch on your Discord profile the correct channel?

Once done, have Streamlabs desktop launched, logged in and in the scene with the alert box. You should see the alert and the mini feed should update. Let me know when your ready.

But I've always gone to streamlabs dashboard and had an alert widget open in another tab.

So I have found a temp work around for the sound alerts. The audio comes through [raw levels though] from the site if I don't allow streamlabs to control the audio. But that means I have to edit volumes on a file to file basis. I wonder why the audio exists somewhere but when I try to meter it on my slider like before it's not coming through.
