Mostly no. You can buy a #zigbee-archived stick (coordinator) and integration most Zigbee devices that way. Similarly you can buy a #zwave-archived stick (coordinator) and integrate Z-Wave devices that way
Well he’s basically described zigbee and those blinds are zigbee
Although they can’t be bound to a group for whatever reason. Tube was talking about it the other day
Should each smart device outline whether it’s zigbee or zwave compatible?
I’m struggling to determine the most efficient way to integrate pre-purchase.
Well, if they're Zigbee or Z-Wave the will
Otherwise they'll probably mention WiFi in some way
Sometimes you have to go hunting, or hitting up Google
Another example would be hue bulbs.. please correct me if I’m wrong but hue bulbs are zigbee but I need the hue hub in order to integrate into Hass
They are, and you don't
If you buy a Zigbee device then it's 99.99999% likely to work with either #zigbee-archived integration (ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT), and if it doesn't you can probably add support
I see, so I’d need to get a zigbee dongle and then should be good from there?
