Feeling pretty silly - I would love to take advantage of browser_mod, but can't seem to install it correctly(?). I installed it through HACS, confirmed the relevant files are in <config>/custom_components/browser_mod/ - added browser_mod: to configuration.yaml and restarted HA, then restarted the host as well (also added /browser_mod.js as a lovelace resource). However, none of the services seem to have been created. Eg. when I call browser_mod.command service using the developer tools, it just says "service not found"

You don't need to reboot the host, a simple HA restart should have made it show up. What version of HA are you on?

Tip: Go to /developer-tools/logs, click Load Full Home Assistant Log, and then you can search with ctrl+f as usual.
There should be at least either an error or a note about using a custom integration

You can only use the UI if you're in storage mode. But storage mode doesn't stop you creating yaml dashboards. I have two (see config above) plus an autogenerated one and one i use for quickly playing with cards through the UI.

@spiral pasture This was my own memory blackout 😦 I had Advanced mode but somewhen ages ago I disabled **default_config ** and of course helper functions were not integrated...
But prompt default_config add cut me off from remote functions via NabuCasa so I guess my config change happened when cloud service became available 🙂
Now I simply added needed integrations like input_number etc. to config. Thanks for helping!

Hi quick question, how would I go about troubleshooting frontend problems? I have loads of custom cards and css style etc on my lovelace front end, but after 0.110.0/0.110.1 I am having trouble loading my frontend on Safari, it loads halfway and kinda gets stuck, I can't click over to any other lovelace page or even on the lefthand side menu, my whole window freezes. On Chrome it loads but very slowly and on the mobile iOS app it loads about 1 out of every 5 times, and I can't load any of the menu items on mobile, I just get a spinning wheel. I don't see any log errors and don't know how I could go about troubleshooting? Im running Hassio on a NUC

Simply installing via HACS seems to have decided on its own to hide the header on the device in question. But I'm not sure why 🙂

Villhelm, it seems when I include the custom header js centrally, it disables the header on all my views on all my devices by default. Is there a way to set global preferences without going into each view and specifying hide_header: false ?
And actually even that doesn't seem to stop it from happening.
Seems like it's hiding the header by default on all of my views as soon as it's enabled. The configuration looks otherwise straightforward but can't seem to get past this issue.

Ever since I upgraded to the latest HA version my display card placements are weird.
All cards had place on the screen before but now 2 end up in the first column outside the screen and the second column has only one tiny card.

In short, lovelace doesn’t download all card types until they’re needed, but just use a placeholder. Unfortunately, the layouting engine needs to know the height of each card, and unless it’s loaded there’s no way to determine that.

I use it and works great because it constantly polls things so when a HA restart happens every go back to schedule. I use it boolene to control another set schedule when presence detection is used.

i have a UI tab that displays 8 different camera feeds - in the raw config editor, they appear as a list of camera entities of type picture-entity. prior to 0.110, lovelace spread them all "evenly" in a horizontal-first fashion - so i had 3 rows - 3 cams, 3 cams, 2 cams. after upgrade to 0.110, i have 2 columns - 6 cameras in leftmost column and 2 cams in right column. i tried to overtly control it by using nested horizontal/vertical stack approach, but it doesn't obey the lovelace config - immediately after saving it will behave, but if i reload the page, it goes back to the 6 in one col, 2 in another col. is this a bug or is there a better way to control the display?

Hi. I'm trying to put the remaining value of a timer into a UI element, but it only shows the duration and remaining the same. If I show the whole timer in a card, it shows the remaining value correctly, but I can't access this on its own as an attribute.
"{{ states.timer.wait_motion.attributes['remaining'] }}"
shows the full duration and doesn't change when the timer's running. What am I missing?
If I just show the states in the template editor, I see the timer is "active" (value is about 1:23 in the main default UI element let's say), but the result is:

so i had my server_host set to 127.0.0.1 and use an apache reverse_proxy with the base_url set to the external DNS name, and that's used everywhere. upgrading to 0.110.1 breaks things. setting external_url to the (publicly accessible and DNS present) URL and internal_url to the same doesn't work, nor does setting internal_url to https://127.0.0.1:8123.
trusted_proxies contains 127.0.0.1. is this kind of setup now broken?
I can get an /auth/token just fine when curling directly to the internal URL, but with the reverse proxied external url it now breaks on 0.110.x
it just throws a 403: Forbidden

Noticed that before the update, icon: nothing wouldn't show the icon, but now you really have to put show_icon: false
and some entities definitely got displaced in picture elements, had to reposition them with different values
before I was using top: 80%, now i have to use top: 65% for some reason
Nvm, thats the same issue of having to use show_icon: false
when i added this line, the positions got fixed

I got this error after setting up duckdns but then I unplugged the rpi to move it and the local up changed and now the duckdns url doesn't work, so then I changed the local up on the router and also tried to make a config file to set the up address to what it was before and now I get this error in the app and can't access the home page from duckdns url but my node red things are still running so idk

I've never used picture elements, so I don't know all the details. But since it uses CSS, you could check some details in the browser. Right click the icon and click 'inspect element'. It should tell you which style rules are applied.

So I'm using a custom:auto-entities card for media_player entities with a state: playing and it's working great. (I have to use mini-media-player or the hui-media-control-card instead of just media-control) but the one thing I noticed is that the background/artwork on either one does not show when using it in an auto-entities
Does anybody know a way around this?

Might be to do with how they select the DOM element to attach the image to, since that'll be either a CSS or JS trick. Does it also have the same problem when nested inside other cards?
