I think the end result was that it turned out there was a bug with adding them to the Z-wave network where switches would use the same ID and bug out because of it, so eventually they managed to get the motion sensing stuff to work by fixing that, but still had problems of there being no way to not have it fade in/out when turning it on and off, which doesn't work on non-dimmable bulbs and defeats half the point of the manual mode

I think bringing some of this content to masses is great for a push towards a more open-source or standardized approach. Linus and his crew seem like decent guys too, even if the show is more of a entertainment show for consumer level peeps. They clearly value a lot of the same things that HA was built upon
