All that (minus non existent sprog) plus sleeping on an icebreaker crashing through ice.

I was sleeping in a car as a kid (I think I had a fight with someone so I stormed out) and then had walked back in during the night while sleeping. Also once walked and slept in my brother's bed instead for some unknown reason. He was confused

Does anyone have an actual lg oled? Do they any burn in avoiding actions when they‘re turned off but still powered? I am considering to buy one and power it on and off through a zigbee power plug.

static schooner
#

I believe that the trigger is turning the TV off, and then it takes quite a while to complete its cycle. If you just pull power, I don't think it will be able to do it

shadow prawn

Maybe it‘s detectable through power measuring?

static schooner
#

so you won't turn it off if it's doing it?

#

no idea if you can detect, or if you could force it to check

No burn in issues

I use wake on lan via cable to turn it on, and the integrations off command to turn it off, no need for power plug, and if the TV is still doing stuff, it isn't completely dead

Hello, we are using home assistant to automated my friend's small computer museum. We started last year and have slowly but surely been making progress. Here is a demo I recorded today that shows the introduction and first computer. The gist of it is there's a tof sensor in the door, a pi 3 on the adm31 it uses a webhook to pick the tour type. We use shell commands for playing the videos on the TV which is also a pi 3.

#

The way it started was I made a couple home assistants, one to monitor my parents vacation home and one for me to play with. I learned everything I needed from them and then it came to me to use it for the museum for the tts and to control outlets and whatnot

clear ferry
#

Maybe I should donate to this museum, but my 2004 hardware is way too new, I'll try to scavage any 80/90s Unix systems i see

My friends rule is it has to be at least 20 years old

lofty orchid

clear ferry

I do know of some hp 3000s too

They are probably dead by now

There are definitely k class HP-UX boxes in production still

Too bad i threw out that vax 7000

lofty orchid
#

I learned how to do the terminal stuff with my home assistant and vt220. Literally prototyped it all on mine and mine has more features. I have connected the vt220 to Google assistant via ifttt I wrote a python script that takes a string and renders it in ASCII on the terminal so all I have to do is say terminal show... and the text will show on the terminal.

Never used a vt220, used a lot of vt100 compatibles though

More hp terminals though

I do love me some green

#

Most students would leave DHCP on breaking everything

harsh heath

yeah but this whole limitation could be easily solved by broadcasting seperate IoT network

Which would defeat the purpose of the enterprise network, plus the fact that IoT devices are not secure which opens a vulnerability that could be used to exploit sensitive items at the university

My life in a nutshell

Iam newbie in VM and docker. I messed with photoprism and it saved some photos somewhere in VM. I would like to search by size of directory but dont know the correct command. Anybody can help pls,

#

?

clever mortar
#

Depends on what OS is running in that VM

dull plaza
#

debian

clever mortar
#

You could also use find to find the files you changed recently

#
find / -type f -mmin -90 -print
dull plaza
#

the problem is that when I use this command it will fill the screen with the folders where permison is denied and stop

clear ferry
#

sudo command

#

Or sudo su first

dull plaza
#

it does not help due to VM

#

But I located the folder. What is in /var/lib/docker/vfs??

#

It has 19GB. I installed only photoprism and mariadb

clever mortar
#
find / -type f -mmin -90 -print 2>/dev/null
#

try that then

#

And, that's for Docker

#

Odds are you screwed up a container config

dull plaza
#

haha 😄 probably

clear ferry
#

Does not help due to vm

I deleted vfs folder "ERROR: for root_mariadb_1 Cannot create container for service mariadb: 01cf982ce022ba2bb7a0d61ce3cfadec0fefe70a096110768637e736bcf29b60: stat /var/lib/docker/vfs/dir/01cf982ce022ba2bb7a0d61ce3cfadec0fefe70a096110768637e736bcf29b60: no such file or directory

😄 thats me

in vfs folder, there were probably images right? 😄

clever mortar

You know, I think it's past time you learned about Docker

Since you feel the solution to stuff is to randomly delete things

never randomly delete, always rename

I finally figured out how to template API GET values to sensors and I feel an incredible weight lifted off my shoulders

dull plaza

This was ok 🙂 but I would like to know why the vfs files are so big. I accidentaly imported maybe photos to that vfs file. But how to get inside of it

#

Congrats!

#

Thanks 🙂 I did all from scratch and the protoprism docker-compose.yaml did 18GB of files in VFS anyway.... strange

Is it ok to post a pic here or it has to be a link to imgur?
