You can further decrease the skin effect by painting some of the individual wires, to make them less conductive cross-wise.
That's an AC three phase power cable. Yes. It's not one of ours, so I can't really tell. But from the insulation thickness I'd guess 240-350 kV or so.

For AC cables, you'll have a problem with capacitive losses, so it's not really economically viable for more than 50 edit: a few hundred km or so. High voltage DC cables can be pretty much of arbitrary length, though. There's ongoing work to put down some cables between Australia and Asia.

Tbh, I was not able to find a use for a NAS with an Intel CPU. If I'd want to use transcoding, I'd have to run Plex or Video Station which are cloud dependent AFAIK. Maybe running pihole or other Docker containers with very low requirements. This looks like an ideal set and forget storage server. Since it's essentially 12 TB of capacity for 70 EUR, I can survive the penalties that'd come with SMR drives.

If you really don't want to use plex, JellyFin is opensource and has hardware transcoding and tone mapping
I use both, and they both work well.
Although I keep paying for PLEX pass, since most of my 30 users are used to that

Teams has gotten a lot better. Used to be a resource hog on Mac, now I barely notice it's open.
