Honestly when I have had to limit noise it has been a vibration issue with the casing, I have never used silicone directly on the transformer. I don't have enough experience on that front, but make sure it is def the transformer which is causing the noise.

Appreciate the thought, it isn't debilitating as after each instance, she continues her day as normal. (after 4 hours waiting at Hospital) Its more just to monitor if she enters a stroke or something, they need to observe her. But until they know why this occurs its worrying for her. Also requires a family member be with her always when her bf isn't around, given she now is working from home in lock down

I don’t know about others. Z-wave has been less than reliable for me. WiFi devices work like charm and never had any issues.

You have to have powered devices in order for you to create mesh. Otherwise it is a mess.

Z-Wave has a nominal better range between devices, but a lower device limit and a 4 hop limit

#

Zigbee is faster though, a significantly higher device limit, and no hop limit

#

Of course, if you're starting fresh, IMO go either Zigbee 3.0 only (since it's a full standard, with certification) or Z-Wave Plus only

#

Zigbee will be significantly cheaper 😄

There's also a trick using + to tag the address at the end with whatever you want, but a lot of sites don't recognize that as a valid email address, because conforming to a standard is apparently not required

I created my own display using raspi zero one + touch screen. It is a little slow as aspected (zero one is not meant to use in graphic applications). But still: Lovelace causes a lot of load in chrome browser on the pi. I still don’t accept that 😀. There must be a way to show a couple of sensors and provide some touch action without using an overkill raspi 4? Any ideas? In my opinion such a use case should be feasible with the processing power of an esp32...

@rain swift with current tech in AVRs you really don't need a dedicated room. Room correction tech has come a long way.

As long as you have average positioning the AVR will handle the rest.

Even a base AVR will have multi seating position room correction and you are good to go.

By adjusting virtual distance you can make the space big or small. Pretty easy.
