yahh, just got the base part of that plan ready, there was a chimney that is no longer used(natural gas central heat, eventually maybe will swap for heat pump but) that goes the whole way from the attic to the basement where the power comes in. recently dug out the dirt that they literally threw in there and ran some plastic drainage tubing through it as a conduit. so i now have a actual good way to get power and data cables up there without needing everything to be UV rated and go through 3-4 layers of brick lol

yeah it makes sense for a number of reasons but its mostly for future proofing and for the demand of people having ev chargers/heat pumps/battery storage/solar export etc...

few people are loosing their minds over some of the plans though (which are not even yet complete)

they are going to wire 3-phase to the property boundary and put the meter in a cabinet there. instead of into the property and wherever the person currently has the meter. old single phase in will be hooked to one of the phasees and the old meter bypassed. then you are on your own. if you want to make use of the 3p then you gotta wire it yourself on "your side" of the meter

my home servers use 1.5kw so the gpu power isnt much of a concern

i would bet very few people here hosts HASS on a 4 node vsan cluster lmao

and yeah i believe the lights were hitting local first, rather than the llm. buuuut for "set the alarm for 9 oclock am" i absolutely want my LLM to parse this. as the inputs can be finicky, and must always be translated into HH:MM:SS according to the input date time

i really dont see any other way for this specifically.. no amount of yaml or regex would make this as reliable as the LLMs intelligence.
