I've got a question now regarding some sensors I picked up. The data I'm getting from them doesn't seem right, trying to determine if it's just bad hardware or if I need to do a better job positioning them, etc. Best channel would be... #1284966353798697001 maybe?

I used the Helper to "change the device type of a switch" in order to change an HA-managed Shelly to a Lock, and though it still works perfectly in HA, it has disappeared from my HomeKit, despite my HK bridge configuration being unambiguous that it should be exposed. I'm 100% sure it's me having messed up, not a bug, but I'd still like some help understanding how to avoid messing up like this in the future. Where might I find someone to take pity upon me?

There's not really a way to add a user with read only/strict permissions, IE allow access only to one lovelace and none of the settings menu, energy dashboards, etc? I know there's an addon for kiosk mode, but I was hoping I could enable a read onyl view with strict limits for guests

The add-on is called HA AI Context Exporter.
Its goal is to export a structured summary of a Home Assistant installation so AI tools (like ChatGPT or local LLMs) can better understand the system.

Hey guys, i have a problem and i hope you will help me. In my HA installation all Long Time Statistics are empty. Settings -> Developer Tools > Statistics = empty. Did anybody have an idea where i can start to finde the Problem. I deleted the Database file Yesterday, in case of an coroupt file, bit still nothing. I'm trying to set up a ZBT-2 with home-assistant (docker) and open-thread-border-router (docker) both on the same raspberry-pi 4b. However when I try to add the open-thread-border-router integration it tells me that the Rest API url is incorrect even thoug the border router logs say the rest server started on that url.

May be a silly question, but I don't see a channel specific to the App itself, but on the MAPS page in Home Assistant, it shows my "HOME" Icon more than a mile away from my actual address. My Home was built in 2018 and I know Google has screwed up my address for years... but is there a way to fix it in the APP or does the app just use google to resolve addresses?

I've an issue with configuring HA with a reverse proxy - get to the login screen but after (carefully) entering username and password it just does the "Unable to connect to home assistant" retrying in 60s loop.

I want to build a smart speaker for myself which would have a brain running something like openclaw. The am looking at the voice PE. I want this to act as the sat and route audio to my mac mini running openclaw + pipecat to manage the voice conversations. Not sure what channel to post this in so if someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. I haven't touched my Home Assistant at all today. But randomly I just got a notification from a monitoring service saying HA was down. When I checked I couldn't load the WebUI. I can still access the HA CLI in my VM via vnc. I rebooted it and see that it says (No address) for the IPv4. But no idea why or how that would have randomly happened.

Thanks, I actually just fixed it though. No clue at all as to what happened. But using the HA CLI i just assigned a static IP to the interface and it instantly made the WebUI accessible and working again. That IP was already set statically in my router admin page. Strange though

  1. Downgrade to the previous version to check if it works correctly there
  2. If it does then change the logger settings for that integration to debug
  3. Upgrade to the new version again
  4. Look in the logs for errors

Absolute newbie to HA. I am running a few smart plugs from TAPO fir now, and as per https://python-kasa.readthedocs.io/en/stable/SUPPORTED.html I am trying to create "fixture files" for my plugs.

For the life of me I can't figure out how to run python -m devtools.dump_devinfo on my RPi 4 with: HA OS 17.2 and HA Core 2026.4.4. I have the Terminal App installed and thought it'd just be as easy as copy and paste...

Hi, I'm looking for HA minimum system requirements.
I've got an older version running fine on a rpi3 1gb RAM, but I need to update it to a 64bit architecture to get updates and the recommended hardware is rpi4 or 5 with at least 2gb RAM.

I preferably don't want to spend money unnecessarily, so would my current rpi3 1gb RAM suffice?

It doesn't do much besides run a few automations every now and then. Memory currently sits at 56% usage mostly and cpu around 5-10%

hi, i have a problem with apps (addons): when i click on install on any app, it doesn't show any indication of the download status, but only a loading spinner that spins forever. when i reload the page, it lets me click on install again without any loading spinner, as if nothing happened. after a few hours, the app suddenly appears in the apps list (sometimes it doesn't). i was wondering if this is intentional or if it's a bug, and where i could report it.

In home assistant, I have an automation setup that plays messages on our Google assistant speakers. If you are playing music on the speaker though, the music doesn't resume after the message plays. Google Assistant seems to have the ability to play a messasge as an announcement which is supposed to duck the audio and then continue playing the original audio after the message completes.

It is possible to have multiples houses in different city and have zigbee gateways in each house to control sensors/devices and have local automations but also connect to a “general” Home Asisstant server that can control remotely all the houses in one dashboard? That's what I'm starting to realize. HA has an entity for current steps (ble advertised), but I work overnight and this watch resets its step counter at midnight. I'm not home at midnight so I miss half the day. I think I need to rethink the way I currently ingest the data from the watch. It's a BangleJS2 watch so no app or integration.

I have ceiling speakers (Lyrion Media Server) connected to HomeAssistant (as media_player).
