My laptop has an 7th gen i5 with 8GB of soldered-on memory.
Which is about 8 times what I need for what I actually do with it, but it's getting to that age where even if yeah, I can make it work, turn down some eye candy, close some tabs... they turned up and went to the server room only to find it no longer there and the room being used for another purpose.
upon enquiry the server room had been "moved"
rack had wheels and there was a service elevator so they didnt straight away forsee it being more than needing to rewire the networking.
got to the new server room and the entiry thing was fucked and smashed up.
more enquiries later they found out the "movers" didnt want to wheel it all the way to service elevator and opted to take the stairs...
this went as well as could have been expected and after about 2 steps the rack toppled and took itself down the rest of the stairs by itself. they just dumped it into the "new server room" and then fucked off.
they apprantly thought taking it 1 step at a time careffully between them would be quicker then wheeling it across a building to then wheel it back on the floor below
i dont think they realised the weight of a fully loaded rack because it has wheels and was easy to move on them.
obviously not the sharpest tools in the box

Like, there's reinventing the wheel, and then there's deciding it'd actually be better if your bicycle were maglev or something equally impractical, y'know?
I recognize that the flaps offer limited frontage, but you can belt feed in new stock or hell, use one of those corkscrew feeders like in the snack vending machines that have been around for decades.
There's just... so many more robust ways to solve the problem before you need to get to expensive solutions like a gripper arm

I went into file editr>back as far as i could(/homeassistant/)>www>created a folder (custom-images) > then uploaded my photo.
when i try to navigate direclty to the image in browser i just get a blue ? icon.

IMHO larger issue with discontinued hardware is unless you buy a whole lot of extras, once they start dying you have to find something else (that doesn't match, visually) to replace them
