There is a way to search easier but it's not intuitive.

If you use the global server search, search in: <channel> + <search word>, it will pull up those posts in the forums channels. Using the forums channel search will only bring up titles, and that is ass.

I still need to document this step somewhere, it is a missing functionality.

i recently got out an old samsung tablet to try something and the battery set on fire whilst it was in my hands. i had to run it to my "explosion containment bucket". better that it happened in my hands in the middle of the day instead of whilst it was in a box under the bed in the middle of the night though.

i thought about using a smart plug when i set up a dashbaord tablet recently (a cheap lenovo m8from ebay) but have been using "battery protection mode". whilst i am not totally sure what it does the battery appears to be sat at 41% and not even trying to charge it just sits there using ac power

I wanted to ask a specific question about why my inovelli switch loses power as my philips hue bulb it's connected to dims. ~5% the inovelli led indicator bar starts flickering. when I turn the philips bulb off (in home assistant, not through the inovelli blue switch), it power cycles the switch itself.

when not in smart bulb mode, if i press the paddle down, it turns off just fine and the switch never loses power.

you also have to complete a circuit in order to get zapped. static shocks originate from like your feet moving around on carpet and exit through your finger/hand as you touch a door knob etc so as long as you are only touching one wire, even 120v and your not standing bare foot on a metal grounding plate you won't feel anything. HAOS doesn't let you install other software or arbitrary docker containers alongside HA, so extra software has to be packages as an "add-on" that can be run by the supervisor.

But note that "add-ons" provide some functionality that can be important to HA such as local voice synthesis or the matter server, which become a bit more work to set up yourself if you use docker.

my mind can't help but go crazy over this stuff, but it immediately went to visual alerts. i'm not sure if there's any way to control the led color of the pool lights i'm having put in through home assistant, but i am putting more philips hue outdoor lights along the fenceline. and i'm thinking my plan will be to integrate something that reads chlorine levels and then turn all the lights in my backyard red to alert me that i need to tend to that.

Depends on how you want ro run it. I prefer WhisperFlo. Anything VS you are good. They all have the same RS485 interface.

You will find your way of running it and the schedule. Its not one size fits all. So many variables and it will take time for you to balance your rotation and energy efficiency. Nothing to worry about
