I like that there's a nice web interface and it has a lot more features, but I struggled with it both last night and today and kept running into issue after issue. One where it crashed repeatedly with large payloads (an issue with 5.1.5), another where it ignores the defined limit on queue size, another where it seemed to lose all my credentials. I finally gave up on it and went back to Mosquitto
Zigbee2MQTT seems to tickle every issue it has with tons of topics and gigantic payloads

The only annoying thing is that they are too configurable and have 1000000 parameters that all get exposed to HA. That's part of what was killing EMQX, and makes the device page in HA super long

I actually called once, to our tech support, lots of policies we can't control, but I believed windows 10 would actually "restart" when it was "shut down" and later powered back up.
So when they migrated from one ad to another ad, I had 15 minute logons, and the classic, have you tried restarting it came up, and I say I restart when windows updates come, other than that it juat gets shut down, so that should be the same, but thanks to this quickstart thing, it isn't. So I think it had like 30 power on hours (in task manager), despite being only just started.
In the end, it was a corrupt user profile, but they did enjoy tearing me a new orrifice for not knowing that only shutting down the machine was not enough, you have to waste more time restarting it regularly too

Because apparently paying for two DL385 Gen11 servers + upgraded storage boxes + upgraded RAID cards + upgraded PSUs + SSDs for cache + 48 hard disks + upgraded NICs + stacked 10gbps switches was somehow cheaper than skipping 90% of that and getting a SAN for both servers to pull data from.
I've been trying to tell them that, if they want to go this route, 10gbps for replication isn't fast enough, but it's falling on deaf ears 🤷♀️

Hi I´m looking for a thermostat that works kind of a mechanical thermostat that just communicates HA that the area in which it is needs to be heated (ideally modifying its set point from HA would be nice). Does someone know a sensor that works that way? I´ve been looking for days and all I find are complicated thermostats. Thank you

I’ve found a lovely circular predicament at work today… a shelly relay I installed in a gate motor works really well off http get but seems to see post and do nothing with it; but Milestone webhooks seem to only do post… and I don’t think work will let me add a homeassistant to the office
(To be fair, I know I couldn’t be trusted having access to that much control of circuits and things at the company)
