(Lost Judgement ending Spoilers): || I just finished Lost Judgement and Kuwana might be my favorite villain in the entire series. He’s not only one of the more human and relatable villains, but is also very similar to Yagami in a lot of ways especially in regards to the idea of justice. However, Kuwana handles it a very differently compared to Yagami. Basically Yagami believes justice is served with law while Kuwana with murder. I especially like how they showcase this differing view of justice through the theme of bullying and the bullies Yagami met early in the game VS the ones Kuwana killed. When confronted by the bullies, Yagami tries to get them to see their wrongs, stands up for Koda, and eventually gets the bullies to apologize and befriends them. Kuwana, on the other hand, murders anyone who is considered a bully or has them work as his underlings as a punishment for their actions. I liked this detail a lot and it shows how the two handle scummy people differently and how they should be handled. The final scene before the credits was super impactful where they showcase the aftermath of the two applying their justice. The former bullies Yagami met are shown now helping other victims who are being bullied while, after that, news highlights the amount of bullies Kuwana has taken. Like I said, it really shows how Kuwana is basically Yagami if he had lost his judgement.

Also side note, it’s nice to see a Yakuza villain not die at the end for once. In pretty much nearly every other game, they got shot or stabbed to death for drama and all that. It’s nice that he just gets to walk away reflecting on his mistakes while going into hiding for some time. It’s also a interesting dynamic that he is kind of on your side but not really. In some parts of the game he’s an ally and in others he’s a enemy. ||

As funny as it sounds Half Life 1 makes the player play as if they're Gordon Freeman

In reality Gordon is a wimpy ass science guy

but with all the gadgets and tools HL1 gives you, a smart theoretical physicist can level squads of HECU soldiers

HL2 Gordon is a different breed

HL2 ended up dropping the whole Run Think Shoot Live thing in favour of physics funnies

tbh the only parts of hl2 combat i like are the better grenade physics the exploding barrels and the AR2 orbs. they literally nerfed every other weapon in some way just so the precious gravity gun can take center piece.

the hl1 pistol was actually useful beyond the first few chapters but for hl2 its only use is for when you run out of every other ammo type because they made the other weapons either have no ammo spawn or you need to magdump like hell

black mesa is a bit better than hl2 but crowbar collective really put on the dunce cap when they did stuff like add the soldier finale to questionable ethics or have gordon only kill 2 choppers through surface tension to "echo the helicopter chase sequence of half life 2" or make the gonarch nest a super long drawn out affair because they wanted to make it seem like gordon wouldn't just kill the giant ballsack quadraped that pisses out the facehuggers that killed his coworkers on the double

black mesa devs did do a good job on the first chapter of xen the lambda core and pre-1.0 surface tension before they added the excessive amounts of handholding and dumbed down combat
