The follow-through, rebound, and general sluggishness of the character weigh down the amazing animation skills

I'll break it down

After the gun fires, the "Follow through" on momentum of the gun, being a sudden stopping of momentum. After an action takes place that needs movement... the follow through means you extend it a bit more to 105%, just like finishing a kick to a soccer ball or hitting the bat full way on a baseball

In this case the gun is making a little bit of recoil then instantly going back, the D-Class doesn't take a long enough to re-adjust his hand down, even if it was fast...

Long story short; the gun doesn't turn enough and the adjustment time is too quick and not built up for...

another good thing would to be posing the gun to point toward the center of the screen, something similar to this. You can enable Composition Guides like this. Just select which ones you like and try to get the muzzle to point toward the center of it. I'd also recommend moving the gun a bit further forward so the player or viewer can see a bit more. Keep going at it and you'll get better!

And also, one thing I noticed, is how the left hand moves like it's disconnected from the gun. A way you can fix this is by adding a Child Of bone constraint and set the left hand to the guns main bone. This should be done for the right & left hands, you can also add another for the mag, then keyframe the Influence so the hand goes from holding the gun to holding the mag, and vise versa.

@zealous flint If you're going to be adding more detail to the recoil, just keep in mind the Kriss Vector has a counter weight bolt system, meaning instead of feeling a heavy upward and rotation movement, it's more straight back with a little bit of upward rotation.

#art-showcase message for anyone curious in the details on how I accomplished this, all I did was procedurally place a bunch of “probes” / dots along a grid, then used rays to check if the point was in light, then sent rays out of every point in a random direction, grabbed the color of the hit part, then broadcasted that as a light in the points. After some other tweaking and attempts at performance enhancements, I’ve landed on a pretty decent design. This photo was old and the newer version looks cleaner.
