Arching the back, creating a line of action, varying the shoulders/hips, or making it so it isn't just front-on with the camera, could help illustrate different actions (ex. crouching, rising up from crouching, swinging)

Posing and angles can give a lot of character to otherwise stiff models, so just playing around with em is good practice 🫡 and I think in the case of this piece they're very important, since the dog is the focal point

My recommendation for learning female anatomy without it being ""overly sexual"" would be to do figure studies from sites like lineofaction, drawing the whole body together and learning how the shapes flow into each other. A mistake I see a lot in learning female anatomy is treating it like "body that has boobs" or "body that has hips"

instead of starting from a perspective of "i am drawing a female pose" or "i am drawing a male pose", learning pose fundamentals like balance, asymmetry, anatomy/proportions, shapes, and etc will be way more helpful in both developing your art style and learning how you want to draw bodies!

(on that note, learning how to draw any anatomy will help you draw any anatomy, the dividing line of "female" vs "male" is pretty pointless unless you are specifically focusing on drawing sex characteristics lol)
