for my spingtap stuff i like to make the jaw of the suit very 'loose' and not connected to whatever hes doing
for speaking slight head and body movements are what i use, if the human mouth has rigging i'd slightly move that

the jaw movement needs some fluidity, feels very 'snappy'. I think you should increase the space between keyframes a bit to slow it down
